Use our rumours form to send us manchester united transfer rumours.

Haven't posted in a few days now so Il post a few to make up for this,

First one has to be about sneijder and how his rumour has popped up yet again.

With us been linked year after year it must seem fate for us to eventually get him as we are on the look out for another creative mid. So my question to the eds would be if there in truth in that we are in for him and is there any truth when I read he's available for as little as 6m {Ed007's Note - I take it you can't remember my own personal meltdown on here two years ago Jack? It wasn't pretty *shudder* Schnyderer has had his chance and I can't see Utd having any interest in him now. It would smack of desperation if he was signed now.}

Everton reject Baines and Fellaini bid according to press.
Then general random thoughts and speculation regarding other targets.
Don't understand why we have left it so late to bid for players when the world and his dog know we need to strengthen midfield.
Only other explanation to me about lack of midfield signings would be if Ed Woodward is Tom Cleverleys dad.

*argh*
Rant over. for now

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ed Woodward is Tom Cleverleys dad.

haha that is the funniest thing I have read in a while.
but mind u can be in problem if Sydney read this

We can't buy anyone
We can't sell anyone
OUR PETS HEADS ARE FALLING OFF!

I'm starting to get slightly worried I must admit!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Mumbles,

One of the funniest lines in film history, classic. Made me laugh mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

Next Ed Woodward will be getting robbed by a little old lady on a motorized scooter.

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha.
Pull over!
What?
Pull over!
No it's a cardigan but thanks for askin.

Agree0 Disagree0

Best comedy ever made. Most quotable movie of all time. How many can be applied to United?

Moyes: What do you think the chances are of a guy like you and a guy like me. ending up together?
Fabregas: Well, David, that's difficult to say. I mean, we don't really.
Moyes: Hit me with it! Just give it to me straight! I came a long way just to see you, Cesc. The least you can do is level with me. What are my chances?
Fabregas: Not good.
Moyes: You mean, not good like one out of a hundred?
Fabregas: I'd say more like one out of a million.
[pause]
Moyes: So you're telling me there's a chance. *YEAH!*

Agree0 Disagree0

After deadline day.

Moyes: Fabregas, What was all that one in a million talk?!

Agree0 Disagree0

But it would be nice with something like this:

Moyes: You know, Wood, just when I think you couldn't possibly be any dumber, you go and do something like this. and totally redeem yourself!

Agree0 Disagree0

KG

Brilliant!

I also think our bids are consisting of suitcases full of IOU's as Ed has spent it all on this journey back from Oz.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ferguson signs Bebe without having ever seen him play.

"I don't usually do this but i'm going to trust my instincts on this one"

Agree0 Disagree0

The problem Madrid have is that spurs already have a suitcase of IOUs from modric they probably are tired of hearing Madrid claim poverty and request payments over time while spending 100 mil on new players this summer. Good for levy. If they want an 80 mil player let them pay 80 mil.

Just read kaka asked to leave Real Madrid. Anybody think he'd be a decent signing or is he too far past it? I suppose it would be down to what we could get him for and wages

Believable0 Unbelievable0

29 Aug 2013 22:10:18
Has to be the worst transfer window in our history not only have with missed out on all the decent players we have shown interest in but spurs are signing players that would get in our side. To make things worse Giggs is still getting games, Anderson is still here, the waste if space that is Nani is rumoured not only to be staying but signing a new contract and Bebe ( the worst signing in our history) is still a Manchester United player. Can't wait for someone to try to put a positive spin on this one

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Just read Kaka wants to leave Madrid. Please don't do anything stupid Moyse, this isn't the marquee signing we are after (4 years ago maybe)!

Hope the Gunners go for him to appease their fans.

Is this really what our club has resulted to?

Cheap and past it. The main point for the glazers is that cheap bit. Having said that I doubt they will go for him. A bit of hope that they don't as well.

Seems there is a lot of division here regarding our transfer business with the blame being given to either DM, Woodward, Rooney etc. etc. Like many on here, I have no inside knowledge. There are some places I get info from but i'm not sure how reliable it is so I don't really post it (i would say 60-70% accurate at the moment)

This is my personal opinion of the summer so far. I would say that all events have been overshadowed by the Wayne Rooney situation, I believe most of our dealings would have been based on one factor, will he stay or will he go. I think that DM wanted to be 100% sure he would have Rooney in the team before deciding 100% which targets to go for. everyone here seems to think we need Mesut Oezil, but do we really need him if we have both Kags and Rooney in the team?

Going back to the start of this post, I am not blaming Wayne Rooney for our transfer activity, I just think the club had a contingency for transfers with or without Rooney but the club needed to be 100% sure. following the reception for Rooney at OT on monday, my guess is he is now happy to stay and the club is now confident on which direction to go

Sorry for the long post, just wanted to get these thoughts out there

Read this somewhere couldn't help sharing, money just can't buy you class!

Chelsea signed Samuel Eto'o on a one year deal.

Eto'o in 2004 - "I would rather be selling groundnuts in my village than to play for a pathetic team like Chelsea. "

OOH THE IRONY

I hope one of the journalists asks him about that at the press conference

I'm really happy with the UCL draw. I wanted us to avoid the top teams like Atletico Madrid, Broussia Dortmund and Napoli as it would be unfair to expect Moyes to do well against top team like that straight from the off. But at the same time I didn't want us to have what looked like on paper at least an easy group, as then expectation would be very high and the players can under estimate the opposition.

For me I think we have a very good group, personally the only team i'd swap out of our group is Shaktar Donesk as it's a long trip to eastern europe especially in winter. But they are a team of about the size and quality i'd like to see us paired with.

In this group we have some very good teams, this means there should be no under estimating any of them, but in fairness there is no one we should really fear playing either.

Personally I think its a great group for Moyes to cut his teeth in. If he can get a good result or two and maybe a couple of top performances then it will give him a taste of european football and give him something to build on.

All the teams have differing styles and tactical set ups which will give Moyes enough to think about and something to learn from. He'll learn about how the Spanish and German teams like to try and play, and if he can learn to over come them here then it will give him something to base his tactics on if we come across another German or Spanish team later in the tourdemant, which is likely.

Playing Leverkusen is a good stepping stone to prepare you for playing a team like Dortmund or Bayern.

Like wise playing Sociedad will help if we are to meet either Real Madrid or Barcelona later in the competition.

Nothing is won in the group stage, but sometimes an easy group or a tough one can hinder your chances later in the compeition. This group should allow us to gain some experiance of playing in europe under Moyes And hopefully build some momentum to carry us into the latter stages of the competition.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Well said, it's far from an easy group but it could have been much worse. There will be plenty of entertaining and competitive games IMO, it's a nice mix of teams.

Agree0 Disagree0

Top post Shappy. As always.

Agree0 Disagree0

Some good thinking there shappy.

I just hope Moyes isn't too cautious with his selections and tactics.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Aug 2013 19:21:31
Well i'm pretty pleased with the draw considering there was a chance of PSG, Dortmund and Napoli. We will top the group in my opinion by winning our 3 home games and getting a draw away to Donetsk and Sociedad and beating Bayer away also. This isn't over confidence on my part, just how I see it going.

Just seen a post saying we don't need Baines as have Evra, Buttner has shown a lot of promise and we have Fabio. This is Fabio who couldn't get inthe QPR side last year, and Buttner who is very keen but has not shown he is up to playing for United. MBaines may or may not be the right signing but we need a top class left back.

I've also seen Rooney being blamed for Ronaldo not coming back (not by Syd either). I know it's silly season but the last few days have been ridiculous. Frankly, I can't wait until Tuesday morning when we can get on with supporting the team.

And finally, Anniewithoutmakeup is either well in the know or the biggest wind up merchant going. You decide

Believable0 Unbelievable0

29 Aug 2013 20:47:54
first time poster, and your all going to think i'm as mad as a hatter! but if its true that buttner has gone out on loan and evra was a bit mad at first when there was talk of baines coming or so I have read. but seems ok now do you think there maybe plans to play them both together on the left? didn't evra play LM before fergie turned him into a LB?

Agree0 Disagree0

Buttner's going out on loan it seems. Makes Baines look more likely?

She's good tho, AJH, I'll give her that. She's got me believing :)

IMO Real Sociedad have the ability to really test us.

They were the best team in Spain last year.

I'll take the group, I just hope we don't underestimate these guys.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Leave it out moon. They're good but best team.?

Agree0 Disagree0

Best team? They finished 4th Moon.

Agree0 Disagree0

They were the best team in Spain last year? Do you want to rethink that comment?

Agree0 Disagree0

Surely they're the 4th best team?! Seeing as they finished 4th and everything.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes they were the best team in spain last season obviously except for barca, real and athletico madrid, keep up guys, HEAD SLAP.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Aug 2013 07:50:57
They played some very good football and was one of the best form teams in la liga last season. But they don't have the resources and squads that teams like Barca Real Madrid and Atletico have.

So they will be a threat. But they have lost Illarramendi who imo was the best midfielder playing in Spain outside of Real Madrid and Barcelona. He made that team tick, he shielded the back four and started off all the attacks from deep while controlling the tempo of the game to suit his team.

Man united 6th favourite to win the Champions league. that's the reality of where our club is

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No that's the reality of the attitude of some of our fans, sad really.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol sorry mate, just re read ure message, I read it we will finish 6th :-S
6th favourites? Have we ever been 1st?

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Aug 2013 20:14:31
First of rarely does the favourite win the Champions league as so much depends on the luck of the draw, and injuries and how each teams domestic season is going.

But in fairness we have not won the competition in several years, we went out at the first knock out stage last year and in the group stage the year before.

On top of that the most successful manager in our history has just retired and been replaced by a near novice when it comes to european football.

We know Bayern, Barca and Real Madrid are better than us. And there is a case to be made for teams like Juventus and Dortmund.

But there isn't a team in europe who we can't beat. We are more than able to beat any team put infront of us. So it doesn't really matter what odds the bookies have us at, its down to us to prove them wrong.

Besides you'd have to be loco to expect Moyes to win the Champions league in his first season with us. that's not to say he couldn't do it, but to expect him to is too much.

Agree0 Disagree0

Unfortunately we're just investing for domestic cups! We're leacing CL for Big boys.

I know some people will just justify, but it's clear to any normal person that we've been declining year by year and still not doing anything to change it.

Some call it pessimism but right we lack of ambition.

The gunners will win the cl

tough draw but I suppose there are no easy ones. but there are some positives with only 1 tough away trip travelwise. real have been absent from group stages for a long time and lever tend to be a bit hit and miss and are nowhere near as good as BM or BVB. we avoided better teams in pots 2 and 3. Looking forward to an improved campaign

Believable0 Unbelievable0

29 Aug 2013 18:32:44
Kagawa not playing is down to match fitness not Moyes lacking confidence in the player. He probably won't feature until after the international break.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

However Rooney who before last week never played since April/May and who got 2/3 injuries in the last month was fit enough?

Shakhter, Leverkusen and Real Socieded. This is not an easy group in my honest opinion. Even without Willian, Shakhter are a very good team that can cause us massive problems. As for the other two, we all know how much United struggle against German and Spanish teams (teams that keep the ball). I would say we need to improve and stop whinning around during the group stage games like e have been doing for the past few seasons

Believable0 Unbelievable0

You do realise this is the Champions League? It's not supposed to be easy. Even without additions to our squad(which most of us are hoping for) we should qualify.

On a separate note Ed.007 is Billy Mcneill ok? {Ed007's Note - He hasn't been keeping in the best of health for a while now but I didn't know he was so poorly.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Willian signed from anzhi to chelsea, Fernandinho left shakhter

My post was posted on the site yesterday and I got replies as well but today when I checked the site the post is not present on the Rumours page neither can I see the post on my profile page in my recent 5 posts. {Ed007's Note - Not that I know of MB. Ok. Shalke, Basle and Plzen please, Mr Baldy UEFA man.

Wouldn't mind Celtic though - they're always an easy 3 points :) {Ed007's Note - F**k you funny man!}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Easy enough group then, Bond :) {Ed007's Note - It could have been worse Stevie, none of them will be looking forward to a trip to Celtic Park.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm sure Celtic would have preferred our group too! Poor poor bhoys. {Ed007's Note - That's what they said last year Patzi.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Do you know what?

For all I slag off Scottish football (and I did live there for 7 years in the 90s following Aberdeen up and down the country) there's not one of those teams in Celtic's group that will be looking forward to going to Parkhead.

Agree0 Disagree0

No one looks forward to visiting Glasgow, but how much that has to do with visiting Parkhead I don't know;-) lol.

Real Madrid vice chairman has said Tottenham are dragging their heels. Could this deal all backfire on Tottenham. An unhappy bale, large transfer spending they weren't prepared too. I think they've stretched the length of this deal as far as possible. Anyone else think its time for the deal to just happen so the rest of us can do some buying?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If RM pull out of this deal then Spurs are somewhat screwed.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why does everybody think our signings hinge on Bale moving? Is it because we are going to sign a few Madrid cast offs? If we were after any of their players I think personally we'd have bid by now. God knows Moyes has been transparent about his transfer targets so far. It's been a joke this summer by Woodward and Moyes. Would Madrid risk not selling their cast offs until deadline day, I doubt it. It's Fellaini or and Baines or nobody IMO. And neither of those deals depend on Bale moving! It depends on us coughing up an extra bit of cash. Unlimited funds eh.

Agree0 Disagree0

I do think it is RM trying to speed the deal up. But they have said bale is class but Madrid will still be class without him. Can't argue with that.

Agree0 Disagree0

Believe me, Levy is a very shrewd man. If he sells Bale too soon, there's a chance Arsenal could gain a Real Madrid player before they meet on Sunday. This is 1 of many reasons he is stalling the deal.
But 1 thing is certain, Bale will be at Real Madrid before the window closes.

Agree0 Disagree0

Patzi.
Are you suggesting that Levy is Risking about 85 million because of a possible 3 points against Arsenal?
Interesting theory.

Agree0 Disagree0

Much as I admire the ballbag, I don't think I'd ever laugh as much ever again, if RM just turned round on deadline day, and said, 'Nah. Do you know what, I think we'll give it a miss, thanks'.

the men upstairs are very clever have promised a lot this transfer window and left it to the end so that most fans are begging for hair do and baines and now they have already started about january we will look to see if they won't to move then very clever they obviously don't value the true supporter very highly we are supposed to be the biggest club in the world and we are being treated like we are persons very disapointed should have kept gill till after this transfer window shut to give moyes the start he needs

Believable0 Unbelievable0

29 Aug 2013 16:35:47
Compare and contrast we sold Ronaldo for 80 million and the Glazers pocketed the lot Spurs sell Bale and re invest the lot on quality players

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Spot on Kloot

Agree0 Disagree0

Invested very well for the future, hats off to Spurs.

Agree0 Disagree0

If they were such quality, how come none of the top clubs were in for them?

Good potential stats on FIFA or FM, don't mean anything in real life.

Agree0 Disagree0

No arguments here. :0)

Agree0 Disagree0

As much as it pains to say it. I think spurs are probably the best run premiership club. Also do you think anyone at the clubs ever looks on these sites? Only asking as if Ed the Duck and Moyes had looked on here maybe they would have had some inspiration on who to maybe go for instead of twiddling their thumbs!

Agree0 Disagree0

I still agree with the central point though.

Agree0 Disagree0

StevieK

You'll see it on the pitch.

Why you don't see anyone trying Iniesta? Maybe he's too good on FIFA right?

Spurs will be fighting for the tittle next if not this season.

If they gel together quickly they can beat any team any day in the BPL.

Agree0 Disagree0

Great point KLOOT. Keep your heads in the sand lads, it might keep you more sane that us 'enlightened' fans. Give me Baines, Fellaini and a creative CM and Ill do backflips. give us Fellaini and its doomsday.

007, I have never hid my thoughts on why RvP & Kagawa were signed last summer. I have always said that I believe they were signed as long-term replacements for Rooney who I believe the club were always looking to sell this summer. RvP replacing him as the main striker and Kagawa in the hole. Once Rooney was sold I thought they would use the cash to strengthen the central midfield and bring in Lewandowski. I think SAF has done his best to make this happen and I think Rooney was aware of what MU were doing and that is why he has been upset. I think Rooney wants to stay, but with an improved contract or he will sign for Chelsea. I do not think MU want to sell him to Chelsea, but would have done had we got the players that we wanted to sign. This is my opinions in a nutshell, if I am wrong then so be it, but I do not believe I am wrong. {Ed007's Note - None of it has happened though, that's the difference. Plus my point was that you have constantly blamed Rooney for all Utd's ills all summer and now it looks like he will be staying you are making it out he is forcing Kagawa toward the exit door. You are entitled to your opinion but don't try and pass it off as fact.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Typical anti Rooney post from you Sydney.
Get over it, he wants to stay and Fergie's bully boy tactics didn't work.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sydney its my opinion that Rooney wants to leave united and I don't envisage a new contract being offered that is close to his current terms. Obviously this may change if things can be settled and his performances warrant it. That said I don't think his performance against Chelsea was as great as was made out. Their were times I wondered if he was playing poor balls on purpose or was just rusty. That said with eto signing for Chelsea it would appear options are limited for him to move this transfer window as I can't see him going to arsenal

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said mr bond
ngiak is proud of you

Agree0 Disagree0

Syd
Bond hit the nail on the head, none of it has happened .
It's the same with your 2 year old evra theory.
There is always an excuse why it never happened but at the end of the day just accept you where wrong

Agree0 Disagree0

My question is, how committed will Wayne continue to be to us, once he sees the first contract offer on the table?

Should be interesting.

Agree0 Disagree0

Simmo, let's see how much he wants to stay when the club give their first contract offer.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hmmmm, it's 6 of 1 half dozen the other. Sydney is right that all evidence pointed to Rooney being pushed out the door by SAF. But wrong (IMO) about RVP and Kagawa. If you cast your minds back, we were debating that it was apparent Rooney was being earmarked for midfield to replace Scholes. Lewandowski was a genuine target too, and has said recently he turned down an approach from united.
Moyes met Kagawas Representatives on Tues morning after the Chelsea game although I've forgotten the source and its reliability but you can google it maybe. According to the report Kagawa was pleased with how the meeting went, and left with assurances to his integral part in our new season. He was Jet lagged for Swansea, and merely benched for Chelsea's very tactically minded, Cat and mouse, pain in the arse game. I understood the thinking in bringing Giggs on instead, but it didn't come off. Giggs has been a pure plague for Chelsea recently. As had the injured little pea.

Agree0 Disagree0

This man is always against Rooney!
Rooney has given so much for us. He has won us lots of matches, scored lot of goals, won us many trophies . and yet u only see his weight, wages, etc. i.e. his dark side only. Grow up man.! what kind of supporter u are if u are against your own player. I mean C'monnn u surely had enjoyed his goals he scored all time.

Does any of that matter now?

Anyone notice 2 days ago the most trending thing on twitter was FreeShinji. Thousands of people mostly Dortmund fans trying to get Kagawa to leave united. Even saw a video a of guy singing in German to free Shinji. I feel Moyes is too much like Fergie, and I predict either by Jan or the Summer, Kagawa will be sold or possibly sent on loan. Shame

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It's quite funny really, it's two games into the season and there's all this sh!t about Shinji not getting picked and that he's going to leave. He's going to be massive for us this season.

Does anyone know why Dortmund are in pot 3? seems unfair as they were runners up, whilst Porto and Benfica are in pot 1, likely to get favourable draws.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The seedings are based upon your form the competition for the last 5 years. Not the current squad you have. Seems unfair but it's the way it's done. same Arsenal being top seeds.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ummm. Wot if they get a Dortmund or city, that's not favourable wouldn't u say bud? It all works on co-efficients over 5 years

Agree0 Disagree0

Seedings are based upon historical performance which is why Arsenal are so high. Dortmund have little history. {Ed007's Note - Celtic have dropped a pot since last year when we qualified from the groups. I thought that was a little strange, we didn't even stand still as such.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Chris, I'm sure they would rather face Dortmund and city than Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern.

What is going on? Moyes said a few weeks ago he wanted to sign players but with 4 days to go still nobody. Think this has been the worst window our club has had! O well here's to 4th place if we're lucky because chelski and city have improved there squad and spurs have bought sum real quality playerd

While the teams around us have improved we have stood still and you can't afford to do that.
Even our main targets Fellaini and Baines are hardly anything to get excited about, that's if we even get them.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes, didn't you see all of Chelsea's new signings tear us apart on Monday? Was awful to watch! LOL how negative can some people be.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cain I'm fully entitles to an opinion u fool, My point bein we were told signings would come but all words, as the sayin says actions speak louder than words. Everyone is strengthening whilst we are not! On rvp always liked him ane was over the moon when he joined. Joey87

Agree0 Disagree0

'4th place at best if we're lucky'.

valid point?

Why on earth have all the big clubs not just handed over their star players to us?

Do they not know who we are?

I'd rather buy no-one and use what we've got, together with the kids, than just go out and buy more squad players, just to keep people like you happy.

Makin so much money but doesn't seem like any of it going to go on improving the team especially our weak midfield! Can see It bein a big disappointment if nobody comes in which I honestly can't see us signing anybody, really hope I'm wrong thou, wot do the edds think?

Agree0 Disagree0

Exactly Fresh! LOL

How much money have Chelsea spent compared to us in the last two summer transfer windows? Yet monday night we we're the more dominate in midfield, had more chances to score and were more solid at the back. Personally I think Chelsea have a better squad and manager than City so I wish people would stop being so negative saying we'll finish 4th or whatever, not going to happen.

Agree0 Disagree0

Joe87, are u sure its not joe97 or joe07? I'd expect a little more maturity from a 26 yr old, but hey. All u know is the good times at your age. You've been spoilt. (Says the 31yr old lol)

I understand Moyes wanting to put out a SAFE team in the opening games as his games will be under tight scrutiny from media, pundits and fans alike.

But will he ever put out an ambitious line up just wanting to attack and score goals?

Even during his time at Everton we saw that once he got his starting 11 sorted he very rarely made changes to it bar injuries. And quite frankly Everton were far from being a great attacking side.

I am not saying he won't but at this moment we don't know whether he will or he won't.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Everton have one of the smallest squads in the league, thin on quality, so he had to handle team selection very carefully.
Also in a game where Chelsea put out no strikers, Moyes put out 3 from the start.
I agree that there are aspects of his team selection and tactics that could be changed (for example I'd like to see shinji more, or at all) but you can't call him out for not putting out an attacking team, and you can't compare what he has at has disposal now compared to last year

Agree0 Disagree0

Well I guess all we can do is wait and see then. I'd like to think any half decent manager would have enough nous to realise that as manager of Manchester United you can't just defend well, but again that is just an assumption.

I do believe Moyes is playing safe for the 1st few games, hopefully he starts to mix it up when we get a decent run.

One huge difference between us and Everton is the size of our squad, you can't get away with playing the same team each week at United.

Agree0 Disagree0

He never had the depth at Everton that he has at United. Why people so quick to make snap judgements after 2 games!

Come on Davie we can do better than that.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Not sure we're in a position to take the mick on this one, lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

What's wrong with that. They need a bit of depth into their midfield. He's talented and 29. Still more signings than us.

Agree0 Disagree0

At least they've added, bro.

Think about it. We've lost Scholes and Fletcher who had pretty much, zero input last season combined, and replaced them with? What? 40yr old Giggs and a young un who Moyes MIGHT play every 10games?

Does anyone really believe Chelsea were or are really serious about signing Rooney?
If Chelsea/Moron-io had any intention other than trying to upset the balance of the United team then they would have offered a sensible opening bid of £40 million. Typical Moron-io playing his mind games.
What a bore this transfer window has been so far, other than Tottenham who have money burning a hole in their pocket.
I probably feel the same as all that Fellani and Baines may not what we had all be hoping for, if Baines was 2 seasons younger then I would be really pleased about him as an addition and as for Fellani he seems to fade in and out of games and just doesn't look like a United player, perhaps a short back and sides maybe the answer.
Fingers crossed we still sign a cracker.

It has occurred to me that we are probably not buying players until after the draw today, they are probably hoping for an easy draw so we won't need to spend big on players until January, unfortunately as we know, by then all the players we would want will be cup tied and we'll be fed the old "no value in the market" line again. The board are playing a very risky game, if we don't sign exciting players and god forbid don't finish top 4, which is possible the way all our competitors have improved their squads, the next band of youngsters around the world choosing which team to support, might not choose us. We call ourselves the biggest club in the world because of global support, but that could change with other teams marketing themselves around the world and buying all the best players. The time for spending is upon us, show the world who is the biggest club and keep attracting the next generation of supporters or regret it in 5 to 10 years time.

Okay, let's see if we can change the mood a little bit.

I think its pretty clear that Ed the Egg head knows sod all about dealing with players. So we need a Director of Football imo.

I'd also like us to have someone like Zidane, although a little less pushy, if we make an approach for a player and we're allowed to talk to them, then whoever was in the role could tell them a bit about our great club. - actually let's get 2 of these guys.

So, who would you all have? and why?

I'll start it off;

Director of Football:
I'd like someone who's been around the block a bit, knows how to pull of some transfers and has worked with some big clubs. i'd love to have Baldini or super Agent Jorge Mendez.

I also thought about having ex managers, or managers approaching the end of their careers, I IMAGINE that someone like Marcelo Lippi or Fabio Capello would be very good in that role.

I think I would go with Jorge Mendez though.

Transfer Ambassador/spokesman (1):
Little explanation needed on this, he's a superstar and role model the world over, David Beckham.

Transfer Ambassador/spokesman (2):
secondly, I think it would have to be the best players to ever grace a Crystal Palace fan's face - Eric Cantona. - I would imagine he would have something to say about Seagulls.

I would have gone for Giggs, Keane, Neville or Scholes but personally I don't think they have the right attitude for it. And I think Cantona and Beckham would be much better at it.

So that would be my little transfer dealing dream team; Jorge Mendez, David Beckham & Eric Cantona.

What would yours be?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

King Eric and Becks as the ambassadors along with Roman's wallet as director of football.

Agree0 Disagree0

Very good idea IMO, what about SAF in there as well?

Anything has got to be better than this shower of sh!te, they haven't pulled off any decent transfers in years, I seem to recall that SAF had to call AW himself to sort out the RVP deal.

I agree with some of the posters on here that Levy & Co are a special bunch when it comes to transfers

Agree0 Disagree0

An alternative to Mendez would be pini zhavi (spelling).

Beckham, definitely as he has experience of several top teams (utd, Real Madrid, ac Milan and the nouveau riche psg).

I would also go for Jaap Stam or Ruud van nistelroy. Both also played for big clubs other than utd and are on record as saying what a great club it was despite both being moved on when they would rather have stayed.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm not sure of this but isn't Sir Alex the director of football already?

Agree0 Disagree0

Director of football has to be daniel levi. he's the most important cog in their machine imo

Agree0 Disagree0

Mine would be very similar moon, I would want someone who knows the club and a past player who has ties all around the world so Mendez and Beckham stay but I would have Scholes instead of Cantona.
Scholes is very well respected all around and has a humble attitude which only creates an affinity with others. I have never heard of Scholes receiving bad press (other then for his occasional bad tackle :P).
Although I think having this kind of structure within the club can be beneficial but can also have very negative effects.

I feel like our transfer team hasn't progressed at all over the past 10 years. yeah, we've made some great signings but when you compare our transfers to RM, Barca, Bayern, etc. We're not really on the same level.

Who would you go for?

I think once/if Fellaini does come in we will be ok for the league but I am only worried about the Champions League. I don't think we have caught up to the other big teams and I am hoping for an easy group to be honest.

In the league I think the game against Chelsea summed it up, the others have spent to try and catch us and that is all they can do. We are still on a par with anything the league can throw at us because I am not one for looking at paper and saying City have better players, Cardiff showed that doesn't matter.

We, with Fellaini will be harder to score against/ beat than last season but we just need to hope RVP and Wayne have very good seasons if we are to win the league.

Last thing is I can't believe we have got Liverpool in the CCup straight away! It seems impossible for us to get an easy draw at the moment. The last few years we have got City, Liverpool a few times, Arsenal and Chelsea in early stages of cups. I know you have to beat the best but when I see Chelsea draw easy teams in every round it is a concern.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

IMO, the main reason why English clubs have done poor - with the exception of Chelsea - in Europe over the past few season is because tactically, English clubs have not been able to cope with the high pressing style of teams from Spain and Germany. Defensively, English teams have been too easy to play through; so it is a collective problem and not a problem with the individual quality of the players' who play in the Premier league.

I am pretty sure that all the big English clubs competing in Europe, will perform much better this season. I believe we will benefit from Moyes' tactical nuance.

Not so much a rumour but a bit of interesting info I received today from a pal of mine.
Apparently ronaldo was nailed on to rejoin up until about 10 days ago! The reason for this is Rooney! Ronaldo can't stand him! United expected bids from a few European powerhouses for Rooney and there refusal to sell to Chelsea has put the block on it! {Ed007's Note - Is Syd your pal by any chance?}

When Moyes took over did he not say there was no transfer budget so there it is guys there is no transfer budget we will continue to underbid for players amounts that won't be accepted and the mantra will be we won the league last year the squad is good enough. I don't necessarily want the wig or baines and while the wig will add a bit of steel in the middle he won't improve us. With all the additions to the Bayern side surely there are a few players ripe for picking but no we go for a couple of players from a mid table side. This is not the united way its uncle malcs way and we are in real danger of becoming a spent force like that anfield lot. Our midfield has been ropey enough for the last couple of years and still its not fixed. I am beginning to think Kloot is right on this one guys. All our nearest competitors have strengthened and we have done nothing apart from pocket money from sponsorship and the summer tour

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Im not giving up hope yet, but.

If you were to go full tinfoil hat, youd say that.

- employ a manager who idolises SAF, would have no issue with working under him and is also used to spending next to nothing

- have SAF stick around to appease the fans if/when they start calling for his head if things go bad

- make derisory bids for players that have little chance of going through, so it looks like we are trying

Then you could make a solid case for it. i'm not giving up hope, surely, SURELY the Glazers know the damage that would be done if they employed someone, set him up to potentially fail, and had to sack him, immediately after losing the world's best manager?

Eds, are we likely to see any of Powell, Januzaj or Lingard go out on loan this year? All have been impressive and should stay I think especially if we only buy Fellaini & Baines. {Ed007's Note - I think Powell will definitely go out on loan, Bolton and Wigan are both interested, I don't know about the other two, sorry.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Thanks ed. I thought as much. I think the other two will stay until January when we get deeper into Cups so they therefore would get fewer games. If they are to play it will be before January I would think - if they brilliantly then they will stay.

Don't know about everyone else, but I'll be incredibly underwhelmed if the only signings we make are Baines and Fellaini. Last thing we need are mediocre signings. Why not spend the money on a decent midfielder?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

How is it mediocre?! Baines statistically is the best left back in Europe and Fellaini is in the top 3 defensive, powerful midfielders in the League. And he scores goals. I admit that he ought to have a haircut but we will be much better off with those two than without them.

Agree0 Disagree0

If you think Fellaini isn't 'decent' then you have clearly never seen him play.

Agree0 Disagree0

KP7

It's pathetic, I can't even see Fellaini and Baines coming in now and even if they do I will be gutted.
I think the whole transfer window had been like a circus from uniteds point of view.
I wake up every morning and turn on a website and have done for the past 2 months and the same old sh*t comes out of David Moyes mouth. "Man United are always interested in the best players"
Lets face it we can all say it, we want action not words.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with you on this one, baines maybe an improvement on evra but i'd go as far to say not a massive one, as for fellaini yes he'd improve our midfield but is he the answer against the likes of bayern munich, borussia dortmund, real madrid, barcelona or even athletico madrid, manchester city or chelsea.before anyone goes our midfield played reasonably well against chelsea they'll be different proposition at their place.we need top quality and if we cannot get the right players in this window or the next give our youth a chance even if it means a period of transition, we could benefit in the long run.

Agree0 Disagree0

We struggle against teams who can over-run us in midfield, even effing small EPL teams like WBA cause us problem there. Will Fellaini be a solution? You're damn straight, he'd improve us there. He's no Yaya, but he's no Carrick either - the man is a brick outhouse with good cardio, good in the air, and he has that nasty streak we have lacked for a very long time. If we only sign Fellaini, its a bad window, but signing him in general would give our CM a much-needed bit of muscle.

Just a thought, but what if Fellaini is being signed to play further forward?

Rooney, Fellaini, Kagawa all behind RVP.

It'll be good to have some physicality going forward, although I'm not sure.

If Rooney and Kags are both injured at the same time at least Fellaini could do an adequate job.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It would be diabolical and I would be outraged. We are MU, not Stoke City.

Agree0 Disagree0

I actually really rate Fellaini, remember what he did to us last season?

Agree0 Disagree0

If Fellani is signed, I would imagine he would play alongside Carrick in a 4231 formation.

I can't see Fellani playing further forward at the same time as Rooney and or Kagawa as he would play in the no.10 position which is where both Rooney and Kagawa want to play.

That is of course not to say it couldn't happen. Different teams / formations are required depending on the opposition. It is a squad game after all.

Agree0 Disagree0

That will not happen, Fellaini even says himself that he likes to play as a more defensive minded central midfielder. No way will he play as a forward. If he does then I will personally orchestrate the 'Moyes out' chants.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would not be surprised one bit to see Rooney leave and Fellaini replacing him tbh Syd.

The transfer activity isn't bothering me to much to be honest.

I just want to know why we're failing in the transfer market.

Agree0 Disagree0

It's a part of his game that is affective so I would expect him to play some games further forward.

They are saying how he will fail with us well he will do a lot better than most people think! But all the Everton fans will realise when they finish about 13th how important he was!
In Moyes we trust!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He will fail because the fool fails to recognize the value of a player like Shinji, he only recognises players like Cleverly. I tell you Moyes hates technical players as he regards them to much of a risk, and that's why the idiot is bringing in Fellaini.

Agree0 Disagree0

. I think one or two moves may have been dependent on what happens with Rooney and it seems he will just wind his contract down preventing us from bringing in new faces.
Sydney!
I think Kagawa was under the impression Rooney was leaving this summer which would have freed up the position in which he plays, but if Rooney is staying then that may mean Kagawa wanting to return to Germany.
Sydney!

Jesus syd is everything Rooney fault, I hate to think what he could be responsible for by the end of the transfer window

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Sorry Syd but i'm not sure how you've arrived at that conclusion either?

Agree0 Disagree0

Does not matter what would happen to Rooney, it seems to me that there are some difficulties to tie up some deals here.

And, as always, people will try to find someone to blame for this. We'll just get Fellaini.

This season could be the starting point from DM, but we just want to compete for the BPL and leave the CL for the "Big boys"

Agree0 Disagree0

It's not 'Rooney's fault' per se, but without a doubt our buys would have been dependent on what happens with Rooney. You would be foolish to think otherwise. Not just Rooney, but players like Nani, Anderson and Evra too. MU will not keep adding players to the squad, players will need to leave first. Common sense. I have no problem with Rooney staying put as long as we do not see a repeat of last season. We need Rooney to play well if we are going to win title number 21.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well Gav, you agreed with my first point the other week. By players leaving I was talking about the likes of Rooney. And do you seriously believe Klopp would be making so much of a fuss if Kagawa was not interested in moving back to Dortmund? Kagawa said he wanted to stay and make a go of it, but now Rooney is looking like staying, perhaps Kagawa will be open to a move back to Germany. I am not saying Kags will leave, but he wants to play and Rooney is blocking him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Syd

I can't remember thinking Kagawa was under the impression Rooney was going, that hadn't ocurred to me tbh.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ahh Syd,

So Shinji Kagawa can't try and out perform Wayne and make the Number 10 place his own, decides to go all moist, alert the Germans and off he goes.

Either you are talking bobbins or if its by any chance true, Shinji deserves to get the boot. Done nothing of note with United and wants the sky.

By the way I think what you are saying is incorrect, Shinji wants to stay and prove his mettle. Reserve psychology, you gave Wayne the stick for exactly the same analogy mate.

Deeps.

Agree0 Disagree0

Syd
We have bid for fabergas, fellaini and Baines with out selling Rooney or Anderson or evra .
So do you think we will make an improved offer for fellaini and Baines only if we can suddenly get a buyer for evra and Anderson

Agree0 Disagree0

Gav, Deeps, I think most MU players expected Rooney to be sold this summer like the majority of us. I think Kags thought this season will be his season. He hasn't hid the fact that he is a number ten and wants to play as a number ten at MU. That is difficult with Rooney playing in that position. That's all I'm saying.

Agree0 Disagree0

We are low on midfielders so Anderson will not effect a Fellaini purchase. If we sign Baines I believe we will sell Evra. It's not out of the question that he will stay one more year, but I would think it's more likely he will be sold if Baines is signed. I think if we had bought Cesc, then we would have sold Rooney to Chelsea yes. We will not buy Oezil and keep Rooney.

Agree0 Disagree0

Syd
how long have you been going on about evra leaving and yet our vice captain is still at the club he has big in the dressing room and has been a good servant if he was leaving this summer a deal would of been done early that was right for both sides he wouldn't just be flogged as soon as we got a replacement.

I just do not understand the people on here sometimes. Why would we not want Baines? In terms of left backs you would say that Alba is the worlds best, Lahm is up there and then you think of Cole and Baines. Baines is a world class player, just because his name is Baines means that he isn't that exotic but he is very functional and great quality. He will give us at least 4 good years, he and Evra will rotate this year and then Evra will leave on a free next year. As for Fellaini, he is exactly the type of player that we need. We need someone creative but no where nearly as badly as we need someone powerful who scores goals from midfield. We have Kagawa, Rooney, Welbeck, a resurgent Valencia, a good squad player in Young and potentially a new Nani to play for the place behind RVP and Hernandez to rotate with. So what is the problem? We are signing two of the League's best stars, that is how Bayern have operated in the past and its served them well so I think it will serve us well.

Thx. {Ed007's Note - I don't take much interest in the financial side of things at Utd KG but I'm sure someone else will know....}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Still negotiating, will be a massive deal, but kind of irrelevant if we cannot sign the players Moyes wants.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm going to go so far off on a limb with a ridiculous potential (not likely and Pipedream don't hurt me)

But maybe the Nike negotiations are done and it shall be sealed with CR7 returning.

If we let Spurs sign Hernandez for £15 million then we have seriously lost the plot and are getting a lot weaker. He is one of the best players I have ever known to come off the bench and score - he quite simply has to stay. As for Kagawa, I haven't heard that he is leaving and I don't think that he will. He will play on either the left or right hand side of the attack when he is fully fit - the only problem at the moment is that he is not fully fit. Relax guys.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Both Hernandez and Kagawa haven't featured for MU yet so rumours will start to circulate. Also most media sources believe Rooney will stay now and he is in competition with these players for playing time so that is another reason why these rumours are circulating. They maybe just rumours at this stage, but you can understand why the rumours will circulate as these players will get less playing time with Rooney staying put. If he stays put.

Agree0 Disagree0

It ain't going to happen. we just can't sell a player like him. He's a natural Poacher and 15mil is nothing compare to his quality.

Just three days left for the transfer window to shut.
Lets not get our hope high, but I think if we sign someone it will only be fellani.
Yes he is not united quality, but so does YOung, Bebe, Obertan etc. are few who played in many matches.
And I m sure he is not or he cannot be bad than Bebe, obertan, gibson etc.

I am full of confidence that we will beat Liverpool with 2-0 or 3-0.

And the last thing we need is, everyone @ first team are fit.

If the rumours are true and eriksen from Ajax is going to spurs for 9m why don't we try and snap him up?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

29 Aug 2013 11:27:14
There is no doubt that this transfer window has been a huge disappointment to us all (of course we might all be proved wrong as there are still a few days left, however I doubt it personally).

Of equal disappointment is the fact that no other clubs seem to have been interested in getting their hands on any of our players, which indicates to me just how poor our squad is viewed externally.

I think there are five clubs now seriously in contention for four slots! While Liverpool on Sunday should be interesting, points dropped would suggest that there could be six clubs in for four slots! Let's hope we win convincingly (please, please play Kagawa!) as I couldn't stand to think that the scousers might provide serious competition to us; oh how the mighty fall!

Might prove a long, painful season guys - the next few days could prove crucial.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Last I checked mate you can't win the league after 3 games, remember the double side a few years back started terrible and kicked on after beating spurs 1-0. I think if we beat Liverpool great start but if we don't its not the end of the world!

The Fact you think that no team would want players in a Title winning side with Champions League experience boggles the mind

I don't get all the talk about baines as we have moved on and are now looking at getting coentroa for left back. Personally I think he would be a better signing if we do want to improve the left back position, which I don't think we should, evra is not as bad as everybody makes out. I think the signings we will make are going to be ozil or di maria and erikson as he Is available and at the price being quoted a good bit of buitvess. In my opinion a much better way to spend the money that everton would want for baines and sideshow bob
dannyc

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Why all the hate for Baines on here? Before we were properly linked to him everyone wanted him and now everyone says he is a waste of money. Who has told you we have moved on from Baines to Coentrao? I thought Spurs were front runners for Coentrao.

Agree0 Disagree0

If we got a top left back like baines you would see how much better than evra we could have in that position.

Agree0 Disagree0

Baines reminds me of Irwin and people would be saying he isn't United quality if he was about in todays age and we went in for him, he was class great in deadball situations and was great at getting up and down the pitch, if we do get him I reckon he will be a good signing.

you get that on our page every team has some deluded fans, liverpool fans saying buy isco, arsenal fans thinking they could actually get ozil, united fans who think cleverley is a better player than felli hey it happens! fair few deluded on here too same as everywhere but we still have the kopites to laugh at :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Fellaini is much better than cleverly. That we do agree on. However, Kagawa & money? Kagawa can be world class, I'm just hoping Moyes fancies him & he gets game time.

Yes that tickled me too.
They also think they are getting mata and erikson lol. Oh and quite a few of them think Baines is worth £30m. All classics :-D

Moyes going for Fellaini and/or Baines is just the same as Martinez going for Kone.? I don't see Martinez being slated by the blues fans for disrespecting Wigan.

wigan said they would sell to us and we met both his buyout clause and wigans valuation of him have youse done this with baines and fellaini? no

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Aug 2013 11:24:19
The difference is this
Kone is a big upgrade on Jelavic/Anichebe and would want to play for the manager and wouldn't cost too much money either
Fellaini is an upgrade on what we do have yes but there are so many better options who are both younger and cheaper than Fellaini

Agree0 Disagree0

Nonsense, you never met the asking fee for Kone or Martinez' compensation. You negotiated lower prices just like we are doing.

Agree0 Disagree0

That's because Wigans vaulation was spot on. Your valuation of Baines, although the best LB in the league is idiotic. Your valuation of Fellaini even more so. I see deluded toffees on the Everton page saying 30 million?! If he's worth that why did nobody buy him at his buy out clause? Also what's Rooney worth to chelsea in that case? 25 million? Ridiculous valuations.

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't you see the hypocrisy though? Everton fans are hilarious, I always thought they were the less bitter of the scousers but this summer it's switched.

i really don't think that there will be any world class additions this window, generally a big transfer takes a good few weeks to get through, all the w/c players we have targeted are either not realistic or have moved on, Lamela is a dissapointment as we desperately need a left sided player, we have struggled to attract or gone in for players who we have no chance of signing, I fear for us if the unthinkable happens this season and we lose our champ league status.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Mick, it is possible we have been negotiating a deal for someone for the past few weeks which has gone unnoticed by the media. Hopefully that is the case, but we would never know unless 002 was still on this page keeping us updated. I think one or two moves may have been dependent on what happens with Rooney and it seems he will just wind his contract down preventing us from bringing in new faces. This is okay as long as he plays well this season, but if he falls back into a rut again, then what? We have missed out on the chance to strengthen because the club cannot fund his salary as well as others.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think Rooney is stopping us Syd, I think things are going on behind the scenes but the problem has been that players like Fabregas and probably now Oezil don't want to leave their clubs.

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldn't have taken that chance Syd I would have sold him this summer. Hawked him around everywhere and got rid. I am not convinced the Monday's ok performance will even be repeated regularly enough to start never mind command his wage. I don't really care about the transfer request story or the likes like you I believe we have seen the best of him and he can be replaced no end in the number 10 role. Pity It has taken so long as there is now a shortening list as who is available to replace him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Fresh, actions speak louder than words and Oezil's people have been contacting clubs around Europe to get him a move. So he does want a move, but for obvious reason he isn't going to go public with it. IMO we would only have signed Oezil to replace Rooney in the squad. We are not going to spend more than £40m/£50m net so players leaving was always going to determine who comes in.

Agree0 Disagree0

Jono, problem for MU is only Chelsea was an option. If he was willing to go to PSG then he would be eating escargot with Garlic bread as we speak. It's difficult to sell to a rival, especially when we haven't strengthened ourselves. I don't think Jose's mouth helped him either.

Agree0 Disagree0

They didn't sell Rooney because they couldn't bring anyone to replace him. The truth is that we're struggling to get the players we want.

People will say to wait until the 2nd of September, but the picture here is that we fail all the main targets this season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nick86, exactly. In a perfect world for MU, Rooney would be in France and we would have Cesc, Fellaini & Baines settling into the squad right now. We couldn't even contemplate selling Rooney without strengthening. {Ed007's Note - You do know Jack The Ripper has never been found Syd? Him and Rooney have the same taste in women after all and you have blamed him for everything else, so why not?}

Agree0 Disagree0

007, I haven't blamed Rooney for anything. All I am saying is we are not going to spend £80m without flogging him and other players in the squad. Is that not true? People think we are going to bring in Oezil, Fellaini, Baines etc, well that isn't going to happen unless Rooney is sold. We are not going to spend a fortune whilst Rooney is still a MU player. {Ed007's Note - On another thread today you have blamed him for Kagawa not being in the team and him wanting to move back to Germany. Surely that is either the manager's or Kagawa's form fault and not Rooney's?

"I think Kagawa was under the impression Rooney was leaving this summer which would have freed up the position in which he plays, but if Rooney is staying then that may mean Kagawa wanting to return to Germany.
Sydney!"

So you are saying Kagawa was signed on the understanding that he would be happy to sit on the bench (or in the stand) as Rooney's understudy for a year and would replace him? Nobody knew what was going to happen with Rooney so surely Utd wouldn't buy a player to replace Rooney a year down the line when other positions of the team have been screaming out for new faces? That all seems a bit far-fetched to me Syd. Maybe Utd could ask Rooney to reimburse the wages they have paid to Kagawa, how dare he still be a Utd player to wreck this (your) masterplan!}

seriously some of the rumours at the minute are depressing.

David (SIDE SHOW BOB) Luiz. £30m. NO THANK YOU.

and then this morning.

spurs want hernandez and for £7m WTF. we want £15m even bigger WTF. and there was another article that Athletico want Kagawa on loan. seriously where does this info come from.

the sooner the window is shut and we know what we have the better.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

29 Aug 2013 09:52:30
i think kagawa might get his head turned by this #freeshinji thing on twitter by bvb fans but honestly who would blame him when he has to sit on the bench and watch giggs get some game time while he gets none, I really had my hopes high that this will be his season

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think Kagawa was under the impression Rooney was leaving this summer which would have freed up the position in which he plays, but if Rooney is staying then that may mean Kagawa wanting to return to Germany. Perhaps we could try and get Gundogan in return like Red Man said, but it's possible we could lose Kagawa without anyone replacing him just because Rooney is staying put. Again this is fine as long as Rooney is playing well.

Agree0 Disagree0

It's not fine Syd.

We will have 2 more years of Rooney max and even then we cannot guarantee his commitment. Kags on the other hand should be central to our plans and will get 4+ years from him on far less wages, less trouble and far more effort.

As one of Kagawa's biggest supporters and Rooney's critics I am surprised you would be ok with this mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

Jono, I am not okay with it, but it is what it is mate. I think in an ideal world MU would have sold him abroad and we would have brought in 1-2 players to compensate for losing Rooney, but only Chelsea was an option for Rooney as he didn't want to leave England. MU were never going to sell to Chelsea unless we had brought in the players we wanted and we haven't been able to like Mike Phelan has said. It looks like to me that MU will be stuck with Rooney and he will wind down his contract. I cannot see us giving him an improved contract like he would undoubtedly want so will he behave himself all through the season? My worries is that he will run down his deal repeating last season's rut, whilst stopping us from buying the players we need to strengthen our team. Fingers crossed he will play well next season, but either way he is preventing us from doing what we want to do.

Agree0 Disagree0

Spurs have done something that United didn't do when we sold Ronaldo.
They have instantly invested all the Gareth Bale money and brought in some real quality players.
Chadli, Soldado, Paulinho, Lamela and they are now in the process of concluding a deal for Christian Eriksen.
Money very well spent and I think that Spurs will be stronger than they were last year with Gareth Bale.
Where did the 80 million go from the Ronaldo?
I still believe that if players are brought in at this late stage which I am still doubting it will be Baines and Fellaini. is it enough for a club like Manchester United.no, not in my opinion.
It's been very dissapointing.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Simmo, to be fair MU were very close to signing Benzema before RM entered the race in the final hour. So £50m of the £76m or so would have been invested.

Agree0 Disagree0

Totaly agree. the same thing I have posted couple of days back.
it doesn't need only money it also need willingness to invest without fear.

there was a hell of a fear while ronaldo got sold that if they sign big and what if signing doesn't came on well?

The best transfer window so far goes to TOTENHAM

Agree0 Disagree0

The Ronaldo money propped up our accounts that year otherwise we would have made a loss and it is likely one of the reasons we didn't do what Spurs are doing now. There were probably a few hundred millions reasons at the time

We will have to wait until late on 2nd Sept to see what ambition our owners have, they have no excuses now

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry Syd, that's rubbish.
Spurs have got the job done, they made plans for buying players and they did it in the space of about 6 weeks.
We had a full season to plan for the departure of Ronaldo, there are no excuses, the players should of been brought in.
We have been in decline since the his and Tevez's departure.
It just isn't good enough, we have clowned around for two months making bids for players that never wanted to leave there respective club, we have made bids for players that were never going to be accepted due to the bid being so low.
Why is it Chelsea, Spurs and City can just go and get the players that they want? It's because they pay the asking price.

Agree0 Disagree0

MU could have signed any of the players City, Spurs and Chelsea have signed, but they had no interest in those players at this time. Tevez was never our player, he was on loan and he was doing his best to get a bigger deal from our rivals a year before he left. MU were never going to spend £25m on a player who spent a lot of his time on our bench. We were very close to signing Benzema which was backed up by 002. The players we want always have other offers to consider and usually they are offers from Real Madrid or one of the Sugar daddy owned clubs. Who do you suggest we buy for central midfield?

Agree0 Disagree0

Syd, i'm not talking about us signing the players Spurs have, yes I understand Moyes has his own players that he wants but. Fabregas never wanted to leave so that was a complete waste of time. The bid for Baines and Fellaini was to low and that will have angered Everton even more and they will be determined to drive up the price now.
Fellaini is a a decent player but is he better than Vidal, Gundogen, Modric, Benders, to name but a few, even Eriksen who I believe is a better player than Fellaini and is available at half the price.
Im sorry mate but there is now defending United in this transfer window, they have been poor and I think have really made a show of themselves.
It's pathetic stratching around for players from Everton FC, surely we should be aiming for better.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Aug 2013 09:30:25
I really don't think we should moan about new sponsorship deals. Again, we don't know what transfer activity is happening behind the scenes. Personally I think this new £35 million bid will be accepted by Everton and we will have signed one of the worlds top three left backs and also one of the League's best central midfielders who is perfect for solving our lack of presence in the middle. I know the job is not totally done and we would of liked an attacker, but if Ronaldo is true to his word then he could be the attacker that we wait to sign next year - and then there is also Gundogan who will be available next year. At least two of our weaknesses will be addressed (left back better addressed than midfield).

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Mr. Fresh

Behind the scenes? It's clear that we're finding difficulties to get our targets.

The sponsorship deals are important but right now, we should've sign the so called 'Quality players' we're always after.

Quality player don't easily take only 2-3 days be negotiate. Only Fellaini or Baines will come.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Aug 2013 09:12:18
Bale is gone, Tottenham have spent (very wisely for the future) the transfer money already, though I'd find it funny if RM pulled the plug now. So I don't understand all this "when Bale moves it will open the floodgates on mega deals". We supposedly have the cash (not sure I believe this) so do the deals now.

I hope the Baines has asked for a move stories are true and am resigned to crying every time I see Fellaini pull on our colours. Still I have this niggling feeling (probably the optimist in me) we will sign a quality midfielder.

Anyway looking forward to Sunday( I'll travel down Saturday) hoping to cheer Kagawa (ffs play him) and maybe Zaha subbed on in the second half and the rest of the team.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

29 Aug 2013 08:59:10
So. Do you think if we are linked
we are linked with every player
on the planet, will we sign anyone?
Or would management say we tried
but they were either
Too expensive
Too old
Too young
Too tall
Too small
Too direct
Too creative
Too many tricks and flicks

Or just not the type of player DM likes?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It'll be just the type of player moyes likes, same as when he was at Everton.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Aug 2013 08:50:19
Why do we persist in living in this constant state of denial when the facts are so obvious. United continue to leverage the club's value to the hilt with ever obscure business deals and partnerships and at the same time making zero investment in strengthening the squad. Why? because there is little value in it, Finishing top four and progressing beyond the group stage of the Champions league returns you pretty much the bulk of the TV revenue (and as a result brand value), so why try and compete to win those competitions when the cost of doing so is never going to get returned. Why spend 100 million on new players to try and win the league and champions league when the most you will ever see back is an extra 20 million or so in TV revenue and success bonuses.

It is no surprise that the three clubs run by American owners have stepped away from the stupid money roundabout of the transfer market. Liverpool, Arsenal and MUFC are run by owners who are used to running sports businesses and who know being good enough, doesn't mean being the best, but simply maximising the value of the club.

The recent glut of deals involving MUFC are a very bad sign. They show the owners feel the value of the club is pretty much at on all time high and have subsequent gone out and sold against it. There is no value in now spending 50, 60, 70+ million on new players, its all loss - even if we finish 3rd and fail to get out of the champions league stages and the club values falls, it won't matter, we've already sold against what the club WAS worth.

The biggest concern by extension is why the Glazers feel the clubs has peaked in value, do they expect a decline over the next few years? Are they done with MUFC, raised all the capital they needed?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Scolms
Good post I have made the same point myself many times.
I believe the club's ambitions are to be one of the best to get the best financial rewards for the minimum investment.
I don't believe we have a genuine ambition to be the best team in Europe in the same way Madrid barce Munich do,
I think for them teams and others it's more about football than business we may be the other way about

Agree0 Disagree0

Jred

It's not we MAY be the other way around, we ARE the other way around mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

Scolds and Jred I have to disagree with you. There is some merit to what you say and the basis is sound, but signing the best players like ronaldo, messi, Rooney etc for £60/£70/£80mmakes perfect business sense. Real signed Ronaldo for £80m on a five year contract. Reals model is Ronald's shirt sales in year 1 (over £90m achieved) paid transfer fee and agents fees, 2nd year pays wages over full contract and years 3, 4 & 5 are pure profit of circa £270m to fund contract renewal and acquisition of the next galactico.

Real, Barcelona and bayern Munich are way smarter at delivering value on player investment than united. We try deliv income on the Manchester United name and miss a trick on the players.

Investing silly money on the right world class players would pay for its self and generate returns for the Americans.

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope you are both wrong because I would be burning glazer f. ing effigies at the games. I can't argue with the fact that we have been non-existent this window which has been something unusual. I you guys are right I will joining Kloot in absolute hated of these Tampa boys.

Let's see what the nets few days brings us.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Aug 2013 08:44:34
I get sick of people saying Moyes hasn't got the pulling factor to get the top players in the world. Sir Alex who is highly regarded all around the world in football didn't sign that many world stars. He was manager for 26 years, so that's at least 25 summers he had to sign world class players, so can you name me the top world class star he signed in every window over the last 25 years?

No you can't as he didn't. We have very rarely signed a star player who is ranked amoung the best in the world when we sign them. RvN, Veron and RvP are the only ones who spring to mind. Yes we spent a lot of money on players like Rio and Rooney but neither were regarded as one of the best players in the world in thier position at the time we signed them. They were young english players with potential.

In the last 25 years our transfer policy has been to sign the best players in the Premier league and players with potential from other leagues. We've never gone out and spent a fortune on top players in other leagues with the exceptions of Veron and RvN. We buy players from other leagues on the cheap who have potential then we make them into top players like Vidic, Ronaldo and Evra, bought for a combined cost of 24m but worth at their peak a combined cost of 130m+.

But my point is we can't blame Moyes any more than we can blame Sir Alex for the lack of top stars bought by the club. Its just not the way we've done things EVER.

So if we sign Fellaini and Baines then we wilk have signed two of tge top players in the Premier league last year, and if we sign anyone else from outside the league then it will likely be someone with potential rather than currently world class.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I didn't see anyone step in to buy Fellaini when he had a clause in his contract which says a lot. If you look at his attributes I do not believe he is a Manchester United type player. I listed my thoughts on him previously but Fellaini as the only answer to our midfield is a very poor transfer window and I will laugh if the club come out and say what a great signing. Fellaini alone as a signing would tell me my thoughts on the limitation of our owners ambitions were correct

Agree0 Disagree0

Fellaini, Baines & RONALDO will be here before the deadline.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with everything your saying shappy. Altho he may have stalled alil last season do you not think eriksen would be a good signing at the 9million be touted? Would bring something extra to us minimising the risk when you think we payed 7mill for bebe. Maybe were going in another direction. About baines i'd like him but other than last summer we never spent big money on players over 26 which makes me wonder think we will prob give up on baines.

Agree0 Disagree0

Annie

I hope you are right, Fellaini is decent but not the whole answer but I could cope with him if Ronaldo arrived. Would prefer Fabregas and Ronaldo as I said many weeks ago mind you.

Agree0 Disagree0

Redman, where were your fears of our owner's limitations, pre-Glazer?

As Shappy says, it's not a new phenomenon. I posted before that we've never been able to attract the Zidane's, the Ronaldinho's, the 'fat Ronaldo's, the Del Piero's etc etc etc.

I think you and others on here, look at our previous transfer dealings through sepia-tinted glasses.

Fellaini may not be the sexy signing that a lot were hoping for, but he just happens to be the big, strong, influential midfield presence, that everyone on here to a man, has been crying out for, over the last few seasons.

I think he'll do a lot better than many on here think.

Agree0 Disagree0

Its funny Red Man as many on here use the same excuse about big clubs and Cabaye yet Arsenal have bid and PSG are monitoring. Fellaini only has us as an option and we could havehad him with no questions for 23m just a couple of weeks ago but tight purse strings and no doubt other reasons have us a few days from finishing this window and nowhere nearer boosting our CM options.

As you say what is the clubs ambition? As it cannot be to compete in CL that's for sure!

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Aug 2013 11:46:29
Well there's two reasons why no one moved for Fellaini when he had his buy out clause, one because they didn't think he was worth 24m and to be honest I would agree with them. And two because they didn't have a need for a player of his type. Which I think is also true.

We do need a player like Fellaini, personally I think there were better options available. But I can understand why Moyes who knows Fellaini better than most would prefer him over some other options.

I agree that we need more than Fellaini and will be disapointed if he is our only signing.

But when we consider all the people who use the site none of us can completely agree on who or what type of players we need.

It's all opinion. Maybe we just need to trust in the management until they prove they aren't upto it via results.

Agree0 Disagree0

StevieK

Pre Glazer we bought the best players and the core we still have now. SAF bought top players like Rio but now we have been burdened with debt. This window is vital and I wait to see their ambition

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Aug 2013 13:20:39
Red Dev, i'm not a fan of Eriksen. I don't think anyone knows where his best position is. He doesn't do the work needed to play in midfield, his talent seems wasted out wide but then you play him as a no.10 and he drifts in and out of games and disapears for large spells of the game.

So i'm not sure what would be the point of signing him.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Aug 2013 08:42:03
Does no one think its funny .Not one of the big teams have made offers for Cleverley, Anderson, Young, Wellbeck. If you say United would not sell them well we would not sell Rooney but we got an offer.
What does it tell you about the strength of our team
Just a thought

I would expect the United media team to monitor popular sites like this one as they would twitter, etc to gauge the mood of the fans and feed that back to the PR team or whoever. If that is the case here is some feedback.
Either tell us you are signing nobody or give us some sort of message that deals are close to completion. We don't need names or costs just something. The current dithering display in the market has fans very anxious and it puts the new senior management across in a poor light showing little ambition or any display of competence. In simple terms you look like a bunch of muppets at the moment. Your own rival management teams must be laughing at you behind the scenes and you need to up your game!

Just come across after getting some stick from Honeybadger last night.
I'm not bias, Everton were far from good enough last night, at home we should be turning teams like Stevenage over big time, not leaving it to extra time and only just getting out of jail, so on that note Martinez needs to get a grip, as we are not Wigan!
Other point is on reports Baines has asked to leave? Has this been confirmed? If so who by? The Sun?
Same applies to Fellaini, sounds very much like lazy journalism to me.
If they go they go. but obviously the valuation that Everton put on those players has to be met, as you replace like for like, not like for less, I'm still not convinced both will go. Rant over!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hi aviturs, in brief:

1) we don't care about Everton or your results, but thanks anyway for the update!

2) I was only on your site to check for Baines and fellaini rumours that's all, just had to reply to your 'evertons world is coming to an end' post as I found if funny after your previous gloating on this site

3) how are your 4 signings getting on? I hear some evertonians think kone is your worst ever striker! {Ed007's Note - They must not have seen Jelavic then.}

I guess I was hoping we would see something announced yesterday but still nothing.

I see a lot of ranting and raving and blaming the manager(dithering Dave) which is one of silliest things I have read on this site and disrespectful if you ask me or the new CEO, but has anyone actually stopped to think that the players we want are just not available either due to the players or the clubs unwilling to sell.

Reading the Ozil's and Di Maria's statements is quite interesting since we all read the same stuff, where it is reported we are interested then reported he was offered and we are not interested and finally they come out and say they do not want to move.

Whether we are interested or not and how hard we tried is anyone's guess but the players must be available and willing to come to get a deal done.

I do understand people will say look at Spurs or other teams and what they are buying, but then again each team has specific urgent needs and they all come with lots of considerations.

Anyway Let's hope we see all get some positive news on the transfer front and look forward to the game this weekend.

BTW I am sticking to my prediction that Spurs will finish ahead of Chelsea and Arsenal and City are the team to beat for the Title.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Shahram

If Spuds gel they could push for third easily and with a bit of luck a title push and do that while playing good football. If we spend sweet FA and end up out the race early the pressure will be on Moyes as the same team won it last year.

I know we all as expert anaylisits know it wasn't as easy as it looks but those three behind us have strengthened and we have looked a bit lost transfer wise. I understand players we want are not available but Chelsea, Spurs etc are not trying for those players and instead are sweeping the market for top players not in the world class mould yet and still shelling out 32m and 30m with about a week of negotiation.

Moyes cannot go into the season with no CMer signing as he has already stated that area is 'light' aka weak. That doesn't bode well for the players there now if he thinks that yet has basically had to go with them as the targets we went for are unattainable and we either didn't have a plan B or they had gone by the time we minced about with plan A.

I will be very concerned if we don't sign anyone and Fellaini on his own doesn't inspire much either.

at this time of month when u read
Man United : United agree new sponsor deal.

Specially when u are linked with every tom, dick and harry and when there are only a few days left before window gets shut.

how are your feelings about this? and moreover when, the same column reads chelsea announce willian and tottenham announce lamela deals?

i tell u all mine. I just feel like kicking ED WOODWARD for doing so much URGENT TRANSFER BUSINESS.
where is that rat faced united chief?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

You can blame Moyes, but the reality is that ever since the big money clubs emerged, teams like Arsenal and United have not been able to sign big names. Van Persie apart (whose desperation to win something was the prime motivator), United even under SAF, were not able to close the deal on any of our main targets - Hazard? Moura? And not only that we lost one of the most promising young midfielders in Paul Pogba.

Maybe this is due to parsimony or lack of funds, or maybe it's just down to the draw of cities like Madrid, Barcelona, Paris and London over Manchester, but clearly maintaining an average player pay package that's $3m a year less than our opponents, creates a major disadvantage ab initio.

Hopefully the doubters will be proved wrong. The risk of course is that we don't make it into the Champions League next year. If that were to happen then the financial consequences in the light of the remaining outstanding debt could be devastating. United would have even less appeal to top talent, and we could be condemned to a fairly long period of mediocrity.

Agree0 Disagree0

Pea

Its down to our reluctance to pay agents money our 'high morals' club doesn't feel they are due.

Yet it is often these agents fees are the stumbling block and more so nowadays. The I can't remember Chelsea, Real, Barca, Bayern etc ever failing on a transfer and the reason was agent fees.

They are a part of football now so just suck it up and pay them instead of shooting our team in the foot. We can't have a squad of 25 all under Mendes's control can we?

Agree0 Disagree0

99% of the time it's about money city have proved that players will move to Manchester if the money is right
Monaco have proved players will move to lesser leagues with no Cl football if the money is right.
Even glamorous clubs like barce and Madrid with great climates have to pay over the odds, neymar 50 odd mill BALE 90 mill.
And Munich have proved a self sufficient club can compete at the top of the market

Agree0 Disagree0

Exactly Jred

Clubs that make and SPEND money can always compete. Clubs that buckle at the thought of paying agent fees of a few million for a player of world class talent or potential will not compete.

Agree0 Disagree0

Jono, agent fees usually range between 5%-7% of the transfer fee. When an agent is demanding 20% or there are three agents all wanting 7% each then you need to draw the line somewhere. What winds me up is when clubs/agents demand a figure from us, but accept a much lower figure from a littler club.

United seem to be spending more time negotiating sponsorship deals than trying to negotiate transfers these days. No point having all that money if not prepared to stick our necks out in the transfer market.

Really expecting two probably three signings in the next few days, once Bale goes then everything will go in to overdrive.Don't think that Moyes is that stupid to think that signing Fellani and maybe Baines will greatly improve our team, we need someone else in the middle to compliment them. He also has to realise that he is going to get an awful slating if he doesn't continue where SAF left off, a run of a couple of bad results, a bad run of injuries could define where he will stand amonst the most important people at the club THE SUPPORTERS, these are the people who pay good money to follow their team week in week out.

On the subject of the Glazers, I hope to god I'm not being niaive but surely they realise the importance of buying top quality players who have world class talent. After all the number of sponsorship deals that they have tied up in the last couple of months, the flotation on the stock exchange are great business deals but will only be profitable if the team is successful on the pitch. At the end of the day this is the reason why they bought our club. Therefore to continue our success as in any other business they have to reinvest funds back in to the team.Signing Baines or Fellani will help us in some respects but from the owners point of view( no disrespect to either of these two )shirt sales alone will be minimal, so for that reason alone we have to aim a little higher and get a world class player in also.I know that the season tickets are sorted but we are supported on a world wide level so all the other spin offs need a boost and the only way to do this is to continue our success on the pitch. We won the league at a canter but we were short when it came to europe. The way other clubs have strengthened we won't have it so easy this year.
With all this in mind I would be extremely pissed off if we don't get a world class player in by monday.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Unless shirts sales are from the megastore the club recieve no extra money on shirt sales. I don't think buying a particular player makes people buy a shirt it just gets people to put that players name on the back. As names are charged by the letter they'd be best off buying someone with a long name like Schweinsteiger.

Agree0 Disagree0

No. But we are negotiating a new Nike deal right now and they do care about selling shirts. The increased value of a big name for them makes a larger offer more viable, which could cover some of any transfer fee.

The reason you haven't signed anyone yet is moyes is known as dithering davie for a reason, he was the same at Preston as well as at Everton.
The offers made for Fellaini & Baines are well short of our valuation and your club know it.
Baines hss not asked to leave Everton btw and Fellaini wants to go to Chelsea not united.
On a side note I honestly think the United job is to big for moyes.
As you will all realise.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ah, I do love a bitter post.

And martinez will take you right into the championship this year. Tough year on the cards Mr Blue Sky, I suggest you worry about your own team.

And the Everton job is too big for Martinez, I think he's a very over rated manager yes winning the fa cup was a great achievement, but for all this great football he plays he took Wigan to a highest finish of 15th

29 Aug 2013 04:22:37
truth is moyes has always been like this bringing in players late on if not at all take last january for instance we only signed young john stones granted he is great but still moyes fell short on who we needed at the time, moyes is not good enough to manage united and tbh I've never liked him always hated his negativity yes he did well on a limited budget blah blah blah he wasted so much money on yakubu, beattie, johnson and bilyaletdinov so he wasnt perfect with his signings and to mrbluesky or whatever baines doesn't want to go he clearly loves it here, fellaini on the other hand is a different story I dunno where he will go but I know he doesn't have a prefered destination even though there is so many belgian lads at chelsea he is closest with mirallas and kompany and neither play for chelsea, I don't care where fellaini goes tbh all the best to him, martinez had his best defender (alcaraz) out injured most of last season and had much less money than moyes did plus he had injuries to watson and kone at times so he was going to struggle last season the other seasons were different he had no goalscorer and no decent keeper (al habsi is seriously overrated), I like martinez and wanted him from the start of all this and his style of football may not of worked at wigan in terms of success but he has better players at everton, moyes will fail and I hope he does, I've always liked united not just for the kopite arguments and the old saying 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend' but because your club had class and a great manager and the club was run to perfection but reality is that has changed and moyes will not play attractive football he will not buy a huge name and he will not win any major trophy in his short time at united, I want moyes to fail not united but if united failing means moyes failing then so be it

Agree0 Disagree0

Not bitter, just disappointed in the way united are conducting business with us.
No class, no respect from United

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe we should buy Kone off you? He's awesome! I think you should worry about your own management. In Martinez you have a polished turd. By that I mean you have a manager with a good philosophy, a Swansea, barcelona type passing game. Yet you're no Swansea & certainly no Barcelona. You'll struggle this year. Pass, pass, pass, pass. I say RM is the one out of his depth.

Kags will play when he is fully fit and has had enough rest. He is just like any other player and all players need at least four weeks rest before the season kicks off. I think he will play in the Palace game.

Two points I wanna make as early as the first week in July I got slated and berated for saying that moyes didn't have the name or pulling power to attract top quality to ot. Well he hasn't proved me wrong now has he. We are man united yep but under moyes and that wayward or whatever his name is we have looked shabby in this market. I'm a season ticket holder love united for 30 years but I fear for us this season. Moyes is IMO exactly a yes man the glazers wanted just happy to be where he is.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Fergie didn't exactly have pulling power with world class players over the years, whenever we went for one they ended up going else where.

Agree0 Disagree0

What a nonsense post but if it makes you feel better to blame it on Moyes, go ahead.

Players joining clubs and why they do, the manager probably is about the 5th or 6th thing they look at. Try Pay, playing time, club, location, personal related issues, language etc etc

Baines has asked Everton to agree deal with Manchester United.

http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/transfers/transfer-news-exclusive-leighton-baines-has-asked-everton-to-agree-deal-with-manchester-united-8788275.html

Would he really make much difference?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hypothetically if we signed Baines and kept Evra (probably only for this season) we would be secure @ LB and they could possibly split time keeping them both fresh and both pushing each other to up their quality. Also a way to get them more then a split of time is to play Evra on the wing occasionally as I believe he isn't all that bad in attack. I doubt we sign Baines though, and if we did who knows how they will split duties, just a thought.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes, I believe he would, he can cross better than ANY of our wingers/full backs eyes closed.

Hi edds,

I watched the real sociedad game v lyon last week and am doing so this week.

has there ever been or is there any interest in Griezmann the left winger/forward? He is only 22 and looks brilliant everytime I see him?

Cheers
jple23 {Ed001's Note - there was interest a few years ago now, when he first got in and around the team. It would have been the 2009/10 season, as it was the season he was moved from their B team to the first team squad.}

Could not agree with you more

Cheers Ed001, I don't think it will be long until someone moves for him maybe next year.

hi new to site posted once or twice but can not beleive this crap from moyes we are the bigest club in the world for lining the owners pocket but he now says united are always after the best players so mr moyes why dose it look like we are going to sign two players from your old club that nobody else wants or there would of been offers for them we played better football in the 80s don't buy it anymoore we are a mediocre team in a big pond that's getting left behind especially in europe I for one would rather be a mid table team for a couple of seasons so the muppet yanks loose money and leave if moyes keeps coming out with this I for one do not think he will be here very long rant over

Honeybadger,

Sorry for late reply but only just back from telling my chums how much fun I had with you boys last night, that and the other thing.

Just a quick point before I go on, that bus we parked, well there was hoardes of them in the car park, you know the ones that had ferried all the day trippers up from down south to fill up your stands.

Not thinking you were there last season when we ran you ragged and you all went home early with us singing "Race you back to London" after you. Now that was funny.

On the point of singing I'm sure someone said about you guys singing to the Special One and some job you love to think he wanted, well if all the day trippers had joined in with the what, 7,000 or so locals, maybe he'd have heard it.

I know you guys love the money thing, but see I'm not convinced we are that different to you, 600,000,000 shirt sales to people who don't even know who wears them with a yank who doesn't even have a love of soccer let alone football and is only in it for the money, against a full house of genuine Chelsea supporters and a guy with money who loves his football. Don't spend that dough if you dont.

I've loved every minute of it and don't ever have it laid on me that I'm plastic unlike the vast majority of you and that single thing makes it so much better.

Now obviously I'm going to come on and give it win lose or draw, the result makes no difference, rememeber how you'd all love the club even if you got relegated. That's what REAL fans do.

CTR sorry to leave you until last my little cherub but I know you always love to wait until last to reply, see what the guys have said first then jump on the old bandwagon as usual. You really need to up your banter because, wow, lol, ZING, ure etc don't in truth cut it. As for cretin, well that was venomous, I think I did well to give a wide berth like I did I could have been scarred for life.

So still keeping you below us which despite GDS2 best efforts is always good and make no mistake GDS2 you got owned.

Anyway off to do the usual now Bond.

Good luck with the window and I think that with all the really big clubs after Felllaini you'll have done well to steal him from under their noses.

Do you reckon Kagawa with go back to Dortmund next summer or in the January window. Geez he must miss playing football.

Agree0 Disagree0

" House full of genuine chelsea fans". I take it by that you mean a terraced house! Or do you mean a bungalow full. Blind and deluded or what!

Agree0 Disagree0

Remember last October for the Capital One Cup match, 7,000 United fans took over your small ground, flares, fireworks, actual singing? And decent banter. No better away support than Manchester United. Chelsea fans are a bit sh*t really Marsellus. Funny you won't say anything about the hordes of fans that turned up wearing blue in Japan last December. Or the ones that showed up in Thailand in July. But who cares about that anyway? It makes you sound insecure about your own club. Remember when Stamford Bridge was only half full before the big Russian Crook turned up? Now that was funny, wasn't it Marsellus?

And Marsellus, we don't think Mourinho wanted the job. We know he did. The bitterness in his face whenever he talks about it is priceless. He got flat rejected pal. But he can drown his sorrows at Chelsea for 2, maybe 3 years at best, before he realises he doesn't like the colour blue anymore. All the while, we'll be laughing at the rent boys crying into their David Luiz wigs.
