Barkley - Shaw - Hughes 45mill jan plan according to my mate

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I sincerely hope not. Barkley, Hughes and Powell play in the same role.

Powell has been on fire for Wigan and should be given a decent opportunity.

The same could be said for Lingard and to a certain extent Januzaj.

As for Shaw, buying him would be the single most ridiculous thing we can ever pull off. 25 million pounds for an up and coming left back?

Fabio Coentrao is one of the best left backs in the game and would cost half as much. He's still young enough to give us years of service and old enough to have plenty of experience and is able to slot straight in the team, not to mention he is twice the player Shaw is.

Do me a favour. Next time you watch Caligari, keep and eye on Nicola Murru. Then come and tell me how Shaw is worth 25 million

Agree0 Disagree0

Where has it said shaw will cost 25 million. Oh and shaw is 18 so you'd expect coentrao to be a lot better. And I'd take Luke Shaw any day of the week. He will be an outstanding player and already is pretty darn good.

Agree0 Disagree0

Shaw is not £5m or £25m. He is not for sale. Your club have already been told that so if you still want to waste your time in January, good luck.

i like powell myself but have u even watched any games with powell playing or are u reading the headlines by know means has powell been class for wigan he has had a few ok games he is still getting match sharp but nothing special from him yet u sound like every other fan that just reads the headlines watch an actual game before making comments like that, and btw I like powell and hope he does well.

Agree0 Disagree0

Manunited179, Nick's second goal against NK Maribor was pretty special to be honest. It's not exactly easy for him anyway because 80% of the games he's played, he's played out of position upfront because of injuries. He needs to play in midfield.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ozwald

have u not read at all what I have said? I said he hasn't played great but has done ok I never said anything about a goal. mick1 said he was on fire and I am just sayin that by no means has he been on fire and by what u said u have agreed with me.

Agree0 Disagree0

179,

You said 'nothing special from him yet' and Oswald just told you the goal he scored that was special, so I am guessing he did read what you said and just proved you wrong.

Agree0 Disagree0

MU 179, I guess I can safely say I'm not the type to watch the headlines and come up with bull crap.

I watched all his europa league matches, and 2 league matches.

Powell is playing in an unfamiliar striker role, with an underachieving championship team lacking any sort of creativity.

He is, by quite a margin, their best attacking player.

He is a 19 year old, on his first competitive run of games ( don't get me started on league 2 ), playing out of position with players new to him and barely guetting any sort of attacking support whatsoever. And yet, he has already scored four goals.

He has not set the championship on fire ( but he has been very good ), but he has been absolute quality in the Europa league. Show me a boy his age doing better than him in the championship. And no, Will Hughes has not been playing better.

Powell has obviously been trained and molded into a midfielder in his time here, and now Wigan need him to play as a striker and he's doing an outstanding job.

What were you expecting? Him averaging 2 goals a game and bossing teams around?

Well he can't and I cannot emphasize enough, he is a youngster playing out of position in a team that does not support him enough.

Read an interesting article on Moyes' scouting system on a website. Its a good read and shows that DM will only buy someone after the player has met all the criteria he wants from that particular player. This can only be a positive since now hopefully we won't see wasting money on players like Bebe but on potential world class players HOPEFULLY :D

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Got a link to said article mon ami?

Like Fellaini!

Search internet for Moyes' transfer room, independent article that comes near the top. From his time at Everton. {Ed007's Note - This one? http://goo.gl/AzPwCM

How do u explain the world class player that is fellaini?

What do you guys think about a January Pjanic buy?

See what I did then? Panic / Pjanic. I'll get my coat.

Seriously - don't remember seeing him play but think Anderson will be out - so will he come in?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Of course we can buy him and put a big poster in OT with Pjanic unchained "The P is silent".

Haven't seen the match highlights yet but from what people are saying, Januzaj performed yet again. I do feel sorry for Ashley young because of his injuries but I really think it's time he moved on. If adnan keeps this run of form up, young has not chance of slotting in the squad

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Young had 1 decent cross that included all the corners he took he was abject and its nothing to do with injuries, he cannot get the ball past first man unless putting it out for a throw

Agree0 Disagree0

That too. I'm worried kagawa may leave

Agree0 Disagree0

Why do u feel sorry for young? We paid ridiculous money for him when non of the big teams wanted him. We gave him a was of money week in week out so that he can actually do something, even use his left foot once every ten games, that never happened.
I said from day one that he was not up to united quality.
He seems to be in the same mould as most of the players Ferguson bought in the last 5-6 years, nani, Anderson, obertan, bellion, tosic. Approximately £65m spent on rubbish players.
Add to that £27m for fellaini and the amount becomes ridiculously high.
I have not mentioned, smalling and Jones as the jury is still out on these two.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nomidfield,
No manager can get all the tranfers right. How do you rate the signings of RVp, Hernandez, Tevez? Nani has talent-obvious. Anderson had a great 1 st season. You can't blame everything on earth to SAF. No matter what, there will always be players would not perform because of style of play, injurious or may not develop as expected. You say you has a beforehand view of Young's performance. Did you also see hernandez being so good? Or Berbatov being ineffective? Every transfer has some degree of risk. Only time tells you how good or bad they can be. Sometimes it could all go horribly wrong. that's part of football. Accept it.

Very impressed last night now hoping we can keep running with what we seen last night. Next match Fulham and no disrespect but that shouldn't be the most difficult of games, due to this I'd make a few changes to our usual league team

Let's try fabio or buttner at lb again and try phase evra out so we aren't high and dry next season. Everyone wants to buy a new lb but I don't think that's neccacary, both fabio and buttner are extremely good when it comes to attacking and just need a little game time and experience to help improve there defensive work. Buttner was putting some lovely crosses in last night and Fabios movement for his goal was top class, let's give them ago

Nani Valencia and young have hardly set the world alight as of late so let's show them a message and drop all 3 of them. Januzaj is coming on to be a true star and surely must start again, zaha also showed glimpses of class last night and deserves more playing times especially ahead of the other 3.

Kagawa, top class, if we continue to not use him we will loose him

Chica again showed he is willing to put a shift in and fight for his place so I think must be rewarded with another start.

So imagine the attacking treat of Rafael and fabio/buttner coming from the back with an attacking line of Januzaj kagawa and zaha all supplying little pea with the options of wazza Rvp evra Nani ect on the bench in case it doesn't go to plan

What's every ones opinions

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The team that was picked last night was a squad rotation in order to give players a rest for Saturday.

I am a little concerned you think we should leave Rooney and van Persie out at the point of the season where we are desperately in need of something world class and a good run, so I have a feeling not many will agree with your idea.

What you have shown from your post is the options that we do have and that our squad is as strong as ever, we really are just lacking a world class midfielder and a top left back to be fighting for the title again.

Agree0 Disagree0

You are right GDS2 our midfield and wingers who can put in crosses every time and we will be in the winning game again
Susu

Agree0 Disagree0

Jack, think you're getting a bit carried away Norwich never really looked that hungry for the win and with their next game being against City away I think they had their minds elsewhere as staying in the league is definitely a priority for them. I'm not saying we didn't play well, however I reckon if we had more of our usual players on the pitch i.e Rooney, Rvp, Carrick, Kagawa, Valencia, Evra then we probably would have scored even more than 4 goals.

Hi All. Regular reader, first time poster.

When Januzaj made his debut on George Best's anniversary my comment on another forum was 'dare we dream and hope. '. Well I do believe we are witnessing the birth of a very, very special talent. His close control and dribbling are Messi-esque, has the ability to pick a pass and his movement off the ball is phenomenal - he popped up all over the pitch last night. Maturity far beyond his age. As good as he was out wide, he was even more impressive in a central role. I have no doubt who our next talismanic No7 will be from next season.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Good post resol. its early days but he does seem to be operating at that higher level which we only see very occasionally with very special players.

from the little snippets iv read in the press and from his modest new contract demands, seems like he has his head screwed on as well which is just as important.

Agree0 Disagree0

Eric Harrison said he could be as good as Ronaldo and well I think we can trust his judgement on young players.

Agree0 Disagree0

Caolan, I think he looks more accomplished and with a better range of skills than Ronaldo at 18.

Obviously he's only played a handful of games so we can't get too carried away just yet, but the early signs suggest we might be able to build a team around Januzaj in the years to come.

I'm really excited about his potential but wary that he needs bringing on in a sensible fashion. We can't play him every game and expect him to be the savior of Manchester United straightaway.

Agree0 Disagree0

We are all very excited, hope he continues to improve. He's fantastic at his age and so good to watch.
Word of caution though, he's only 18, so we have to make sure he stays level headed. I think his family and Moyes will ensure that, and he himself seems to be level headed.
Let's hope we can keep him in two years when Real come knocking.

I personally very much enjoyed our performance yesterday, I thought Januzaj was outstanding, Cleverly played well, Hernandez was excellent and Zaha was good to. Especially since it was probably his first competitive match since May/June time. Even Mr Young wasn't too hopeless although he still doesn't have a future here in my opinion. Last night showed that we do have very promising players and that we can get scoring again - we just need to take that form into the league. If we can sign a left back, left winger and central midfielder in the next two wingers then we will have the strongest squad once again. Baines, Herrera and Konoplyanka please Mr Woodward!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Prefer Shaw or contreao and gundogan and pjanic. Why do we need a left winger when we have januzaj who can fill that position when required.
We also need to move away from wingers and start buying midfielders.
In addition too januzaj, we have four wingers at the club. I would rather sell Valencia nani and young and get two midfielder and left back and modernise our tactics.
