Must admit the more I see and listen to Gus Poyet, the more I think he would be a fair replacement for Fergie. Appears to have all the right values and is hugely respected in the game. A man most certainly on the up .

How many of you think that the twins need to bulk up in order to be better? They are good in going forward and can run back quickly to cover, but they dont have a good height and can be thrown away by powerful players. They remind me of Marcelo but he is better physically and that helps in his overall game.

how good are
clevs,anderson fletch and carrick when compared to
the rest of the top midfielders in the world , would any off them get in to the top 10 ?.
Are any of them better than kean scholes butt ince, or is it fair to say our midfield area has taken a step backwards over recent years.

Can only see one name being brought in in January, that will most probably be Bruno Soriano as he is a good utility player...Left back of CM or sat a bit deeper. I don't think Carrick will leave in January...but summer is a possibility. Gibson is candidate number 1 to leave, along with Kusczack. Berbatov could go...but that depends if Macheda leaves on loan or not and also if Diouf leaves. Owen will stay till summer. In summer i'd like to see Carrick leave with a midfielder being brought in...one that can play in multiple areas, much like Modric can. For me he is still the one to sign, he's been praised by anyone who is anyone at the club and i still think he will want to quit spurs regardless. A striker will also likely be brought in in summer, i feel we could spend up to 25 million on one if we needed too..main target for me would be Higuain or Rossi. Preferibly Rossi as he would fit in perfectly for us.

i have been a utd fan for over 50yrs but im affraid until we get cleverly back and someone similar alongside him we wont be able 2 tackle the likes of barca, we have quality players in other areas but the engine room needs looking at

Think it is time for SAF to look at a new LB in January as yet again Evra was found wanting against Basle. Over the past couple of seasons his defensive decision making / positioning has been very poor, he never seems to tackle or put any pressure on the winger. Look at the second Basle goal, he just jogged alongside the winger allowing him to cross the ball completely unchallenged. Not the first time we have seen this, sadly I don't think it will be the last.
Going forward Evra is fantastic and he could do a job at LM with a decent LB behind him. What he has gained going forward he seems to have lost defensively. Sorry, not sure either of the twins are going to make it as they never seem to complete 90 mins (must be a Brazilian thing looking at Ando as well), yet again Fabio came off on Tuesday.
We may have started well, but certainly against Arsenal / Chelsea and Basle we could have conceded a lot more goals, so we need to tighten things up if we want to be contenders for trophies this season.
We seem to be covered at RB and CB with any 3 from Jones / Rio / Vida /Smalling / Evans and when required we also have the twins and Valencia at RB. Unfortunately we don't have options at LB, so get the scouts out SAF and lets sign a quality LB in January.

MU should bid for Napoli duo Cavani + Hamsik to replace Berba and Carrick..duo is a class act and even with combine fees of 60mil..its worth it..!
