The longer Kroos doesn't sign a deal the longer these rumours will go on. I very much hope that he doesn't and that he ends up here, I'd go as far as £30 million for him to be honest. Suppose we sign him, the question is, do we have a good enough player to play along side him or will we still go for Gundogan and pair up the two German internationals? That would be the perfect pairing for me.

Not been on for a few days so just caught up with the CTR news. Add my prayers to the rest, we had very premature twins a few years ago, the doctors were amazing and they are healthy and well. All the best, keep positive.

Majority of the people on here did not have Moyes as his and neither was he mine.

But now he's the manager and i'm all for supporting him in these difficult times.

My concern however is that I never believed(and still dont) that Moyes will ever be able to make us play and entertaining style of football.

I really can't forsee us playing a style of football like Arsenal, Dortmund, Bayern or Man City (not counting Barca as they play totally different style) which is just good to watch.

I agree in the later years under SAF our style wasnt that great but when he decided to step down we had a chance to bring in someone who could have us play entertaining football but we still went for Moyes under whom there is absolutely no chance of that happening.

I'm not saying he should be sacked now but I'm just afraid that we might end up with only a "result-oriented" style under him(if at all he manages to take control of this team) whereas I think the right attitude will be to follow an entertaining style and the results will follow.
My only concern is I don't want to watch us win matches with a boring style when we had an option to appoint a manager who would probably have us play a better style of football than what Moyes ever will even if he has the necessary personnel.

(same reason why I did not want Mourinho)

P.S: CTR we are praying for your lil one. Hope everything turns out fine.

The first line in the post is wrong I wanted to write:

Majority of the people on here did not have Moyes as their first choice and neither was he mine.

Agree0 Disagree0

Seems to work for Chelsea.
The only entertainment they offer comes from the Jose press conferences.

Watching the AVFC Vrs NCFC game yesterday and I was thinking that we are in need of a good left back, does anyone think that we should have a cheap sneaky bid for M Olsson loads of prem experience, Youngish 25, international Quick good at going forward and defending also scores a few and can play centre back if required.

Just a thought I think i'd rather pay 5-10m for him than 25-30m for Baines or Shaw even though they are good players don't think they would be 3 times the player.

Anyone agree?

Didn't Norwich concede 4 against a villa team who's been pish most of the season, I'll pass thanks. If we had to go prem, other than Shaw i'd go for the lad at swansea.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes, Flores would fit in well with the present standard.

Surely, after being vituperatively attacked from fans' and media alike, will Moyes' now alter his tactical shape and take heed of what has been said; or will he remain obdurate and keep with the same failed tactical system?

Surely, a good football coach/manager would try and implement a system that would get the best out of the players' available to him? I mean, we are top heavy with number 10's, so it seems logical - to my mind anyway - that we employ a system that gets the best out of those players', which would mean abandoning this unhealthy fetish with trying to play the ball down the flanks at every opportunity, even when we have players' in wide open spaces in the central areas.

The game against Palace showed what we could be capable of, when we play a narrower, more fluid system. It got the best out of the players' and didn't rely solely on getting wide and pumping in aimless crosses. For me, this is a no brainer: Moyes' needs to stick with that system.

It is a real shame that we are so far behind, because I think we could have made it into the top 4. Arsenal is imploding as usual; but we are now too far off to catch them.

All that said I would be happy with a positive direction in our playing style for the rest of the season.

Here's hoping.

P.S.

CTR, all the best my friend. I am thinking of you and your little one.

Morning ed, if Arsenal go for Griezmann this summer do you think that we will rival their bid? I think it would be a crime to miss out on him, third top goal scorer in La Liga this season with 19 goals, exceptional. Since players like Reus are probably a dream this boy has to be considered as the real deal and in my mind is just what we need. If not him then I think a move for Muniain should happen as I think he is ready to make the step up.

A further point, if we go for William Carvalho, which is looking increasingly likely by the day, do you think that is the only midfielder we will see come in or would someone more creative be on the cards? Otherwise it would be a pairing of Carvalho with Carrick or Fellaini, neither of which are overly creative.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - So you think that Manchester United will be waiting to see what Arsenal do before making a bid for a player?}

No, but could plans be brought forward to sign him given interest from elsewhere? He may not be on our radar this summer but may well be for next - I have no idea, just speculating.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - How can I possibly answer this - you are making it all up and asking me to confirm it?}

Popped in to give CTR my support and best wishes. Am very impressed to see a board full of sentiment from all you United fans, as well as others. Sometimes we get so caught up in football we lose sight of the things that are more important.

People are more important than football, and you guys have shown that via this great site. Respect to you all, DG and the editors.

In saying that - my prayers and heartfelt best wishes go out to you, your son and family CTR. Be as strong as you can mate - I hope it all worksout.
