"How the hell is selling off shares going to result in you lot being debt free. What you mean is your robbing Peter to pay Paul"

Ozone, you are clearly out of your depth here son, if the Glazers sold shares in United and paid off debt all of our debt, then we would be debt-free. All it would mean is the Glazers will own 70% of the club and investors will owe 30%. But we would be completely debt-free.

Have a little read if you think the bond issue is going to reduce your debts.

Deary deary me, you lot really are in trouble if your revenues dip.

You better get your scouts into outer space to see if theres a footballing alien up there. You never know there maybe an untouched merchandising market to help you bolster revenue and keep the bond holders happy.

Big Andy's had his warm up against Wolves and Everton, he can't wait for your boys on the 15th, he'll make Jones look like a little boy.

In fact we are more than ready for your visit, Stevies back, Carrolls just finding his form, Suarez on fire, Kelly and Jose commanding the flanks and an embarrasment of midfield talent to command possession.

I hope for your sake De Gae doesn't get overwhelmed by the atmosphere, as the 16 shot a game average could end up with the net rippling all afternoon.

Now i'm as dissapointed as most that we didn't get the "world class" midfield signing we were all hoping for, but you'd be a fool to think that we haven't improved as a team. We don't have anyone quite as good as VDS but for the first time i can remember we have two good goalies battling it out for the jersey and that competition will only make them both stronger and better keepers.
In defence we actually have competition for places and have a good blend of youth and experiance. Gone are dependable but un spectacular players like Brown and O'Shea who have been great servants to the club but were never really gonna challenge Rio and Vida for their places and Jones i think could be the signing of the season. Plus young Fryers made his debut and was massively impressive, to make your debut at Leeds with no experianced defenders to help ease you in, and to play the way he did proved he has the right temprement to make it as his talent has never been in question. So many hugely talented youngsters never make it as they don't have the head for it, well young Fryers showed he does where he goes from here is upto him.
In the attacking third we added Young and got a much improved and filled out Welback back who is doing so well he's keeping last season's golden boot winner out of the team and on current form deserves to be ahead of last seasons 20 goal hero Hernandez. Young adds an actual left side outlet to us who is more a threat then Park and more effective on the left then Nani. Speaking of Nani look how well he's blossoming, becoming a real match winner and genuine world class player.
In midfield where we needed the most improvement unfortunatly we didn't get what we wanted. But Cleverley has been a awesome but we can't put too much pressure on him. He will be a great player but to expect him to do so 5-6 games into his United career is too much. Anderson is a much improved player also but is still off of fulfilling his potential. Carrick has become too inconsistant, when he's good he's flawless but when he's poor he's a liability. Which is a shame as i've always liked him and rated him as a player. Fletcher isn't back yet to his old self and Giggs although great isn't a central player and gets caught out against the best midfielders. But this is still an improvment on last years midfield which won the league and reached the champions league final, just not as big an improvement as we were hoping for but c'est la vie. Also we need to appreciate that we have 3/4 really good youngsters coming through in midfield which will need accomadating in the next year or two, even so i think there is space for one top quality signing in the middle to help usher the kids in.
But this is a better all round team than last year so can we please stop getting so down about it all the time, all we can ask is for improvement and there is so lets just see how they fair.

Ed's, Syd, just been googling a few players and Iturbe was one I looked at, only heard his name on this site and when you tubing players but there seemed lots of sites claiming we have first refusal? Just wondering how true this is and how good this boy is if anyone knows? Thanks.

Ports {Ed004's Note - From what I have gathered it seems we could not get him a visa so he went to Porto, I also think we have first refusal and Mendes is his agent btw}

Is anyone else disappointed with the ratings for some United players on FIFA 12, especially De Gea and Cleverly? I would have put De Gea at at least 83 not 80 and Cleverly at least 77 not 73. Apart from that think it is a big step up from 11 with far better defending making the whole game more realistic.

Hi Mancs,
I'd just like to say I'm really looking forward to the weekend. There is nothing better than to beat the mancs at Anfield. I'm thinking Andy Carroll is going to give Evans and Jones a bit of a tough afternoon. What are your thoughts?

If we sign Modric we are complete in midfield, Carrick, Fletcher and even Cleverly can all sit. Pogba can sit also if necessary and has alot about him. Modric can alternate with the likes of Cleverly and Anderson - one goes forward, one stays back - much like Xavi and Iniesta. I would be delighted with Modric.

Also think that we should let 3 strikers go - Berbatov, Owen and Diouf - as much as I like all three I don't think that they are right for us anymore. Higuain would be the best option - he will cost less money than the HUGE names like Benzema, Cavani etc...but his finishing is second to none. He'd fit well with Rooney as well as he is perfectly happy to go up front alone with people playing off of him.

In an ideal world a defender will be brought as well, we could potentially need 2 if Ferdinand leaves. If Ferdinand leaves then i would like Thiago Silva - tough, strong, would fit the PL. Someone like Verthongen wouldn't go a miss, he can play across the back line - perfect for what we need to fill in injury wise. A luxury would be Bale but its not an essential.

Of course i don't want all of this to happen as we have a fantastic squad with fantastic future young stars coming through - these should not be pushed out of view.

Just a thought - does anyone think that Beckham might just be really useful on a free? Not to play particualrly much - but he would replace the likes of Neville and Scholes in the dressing room! He'd be fantastic for all the youth and would eventually take up a role in the backroom staff.

Is there some reason why the Manchester United banter page is clogged up with posts by Liverpool fans all saying variations of the same thing (liverpool iz great, united iznt we will beatz u, haha Utdz iz finished)?

I mean it's one thing having people Blaire Maine Road coming here for a wind up, at least he gives it a bit of thought. But the caliber of posts today doesn't even count as banter, it's like a bunch of 5 year olds showing up shouting my dad is stronger than your dad cause he said so.

We can forget about the champs league this year for definite & maybe the premier league with our dire midfield
We need 2 world class midfielders & one forward
Gotze & m'villa would be my choice for midfield with Hulk or Benzema up front
Outs Kuzack, Evans, Carrick, Park,Berbatov & Diuof

I havent been posting much lately but I had to double check that this was actually the united page !
All I could see was jealous delusional scousers who only a week ago were booing their very own players and questioning dog leashes signings....all of a sudden after beating a pretty average 10 man toffies they are going to stuff us in a couple of weeks and win the league.
Still I am quite confident that when we play them at anfield that might well shut their big mouths up for a while or til they beat blackburn or someone in the coming weeks and start to believe their own sh!t again.

Not a rumour as such but we need a world class defensive midfielder and also a Modricesque player in our side. If it takes big money so be it, quite often you get what you pay for. The usual people will say he was rubbish yesterday against Arsenal but then the team around him didn't really perform even though they won.

And the same people will also say he doesn't score or have as many assists but we have those type of players already. What we need is someone who can keep the ball in the middle and he does that under pressure very well. We are constantly giving the ball away in midfield

Cleverley is class but he is injured and we already look short in midfield even though everyone else is fit.

Fletcher needs a bit of time but he had a poor season even before the virus last year. Great energy but too often passes to the opposition.

As for Anderson, I read so many early posts on here saying he was amazing and this is the year to reach his potential. He had only played 2 games and since then his performances have dropped with each game, as always happens when he gets a spell in the side. He has a great range of passing but isn't clever enough with it, he gets the ball and all he can think to do is make a surging run forward. When a team stifles us, he disappears and when under pressure he can't defend either. One of the reasons teams are having more shots than ever on our goal.

Mathieu from Valencia (Left back) could be a good cheap option. He terrorised Barca, he looks a really good player who would fit right in. Thoughts?

does anybody think that a good future target for united could be valencia's jordi alba. been very impressed with him this season, got good quality on the ball, left footed, very energetic and quick like the twins and can also play left midfield. cant imagine he would cost a bomb either. what do people reckon

I seriously dont underststand the liverpool lads coming on here giving it the big un,surely they know like everybody else that the top 3 spots are gone and in all likelihood so is 4th to spurs and they have serious competition for 5th i.e fulham and stoke,it just seems to me that they are really grasping at straws and really trying to convince themselves rather than actually believing that king benny is gonna bring the title to anfield, they were being battered by everton until the sending off,in all seriousness it wouldve been the 3rd defeat in a row for benny if not for the ref,yes we were poor against stoke and norwich and basle but we were poor whilst not losing and staying top of the league,i guess what im saying is they are punching above thier weight coming.on here we arent their rivals stoke fulham and everton are.
