Would be a mistake to sell Berbetov. Probably turn out just like Rossi and Forlan. Keep him on and offer watered down contract. Berb will always be class act. There's definate quality there.

i really like the fact that we have so many talented young players and also have a group of younger players which are exciting many of reds not seen since 92....hopefully the squad will be fine tuned in midfield and lets keep the rest fighting over the league places between 2 and 20 again

Paul pogba looked good tonight, one paul retired and the other had his debut..i think pogba's going to be another united great.
And i think we should loan macheda to a premier league side this season, don't know something about his style i don't like.

Moments like this bring a tear to my eye, an absolute footballing genius, will be sorely missed at OT. He leaves behind a dynasty. An absolute model proffesional, and true United legend. Congratulations to Paul Scholes on a glittering career.

Great to see a lot of young players get a run out today. Welbeck has shown a lot of quality during the preseason, and the more I see Cleverley, the more hope I have for out midfield. And it was great to see Pogba get some time on the field; he's going to be a class player. Farewell Paul Scholes.

Seeing Pogba on bench for last 2 friendlies, I am certain he will be given more opportunity this season. And Tunnicliffe is on loan to Posh until december, when he is back, both of them will play part(maybe not too big) but thats what we need in that 3rd quarter of the season, which proves to be difference between the Champion(20th) and 2nd. 2nd is never option for us. I hope Pogba, Tunnicliffe and Morrison will shine under Sir Scholes. There are the best young generation since 92 Rest of them don't just cut it (Gibson, cleverly, welback Etc).
IF Mario Gotze(plays AM but can play as wing) comes it will make man utd the best team for coming years. I like any United fan is looking forward to the future Midfield Maestro of MAN Utd the Greatest Team ever and Ever will be

Hope to see Pogba in the second half, watch him grab the game by the scruff of the neck after he settles. I want to see Cleverley & Welbeck too.

Evening Red Devils, what about a debate on football managers, United have had two of the greatest in Matt Busby and now Fergie, over at my club Celtic we had Jock Stein and to a lesser extent Martin O.neill. Liverpool of course had Shanks and then there was Brian Clough of Forest and Derby but all these guys had one thing in common play football the RIGHT way with good attacking entertaining football. These days too many managers just want not to lose when they should be thinking how can I WIN this game. Any thoughts Timalloy

PS guys Celtic fans have adopted a charity in thailand called the Good child foundation, it came about after a young celtic fan who helped out there in his gap year was murdered, to remember him celtic fans give money to these kids, so far over £100,000 has been raised. But just google "thai tims"
and watch all the kids singing with their happy smiling faces I GUARANTEE it will give you a smile and also bring a tear to your eye Hail hail

A slight follow on from someone elses post earlier. If you could make your own player with the 6 main attributes from other players...who would it be?

The 6 attributes being:

Passing
Finishing
Tackling
Heading
Pace
Influence/Mentality

Just a thought....

Does ny1 feel we dont really need WS at this time, i still beleive will win the league without him but wont beat barca with him, i think the cheeper safer option is to wait 1 year and get nasri on the free and try to also develop either cleverly or pogba in this year.I dont want us to spend money for the sake of it like the berbatov thing wen we actually had what we needed all along(tevez), wht do you's think?

Manchester United has also given an ultimatum to one of their main transfer priorities this summer. According to the Daily Star, Manchester United has put a two week deadline for Wesley Sneijder to decide whether he will join the club this summer. The paper claims that Manchester United have been working for two months on a potential deal and have now lost patience with the player. It is believed talks have stalled over Sneijder's wage demands with David Gill readying a take it or leave it offer to the player. Is there any truth to this? diego

just listening anti united radio talksport durham saying how paul scholes is not a football great just a good player and there doing a poll between lampard, gerrard and scholes to see who people prefer, he's just saying things like he cant tackle etc, but when people like this go on about xavi, iniesta etc then there the best in the world don't mention they can't tackle etc, all just cos he plays for united.

Just on the train on my way to the testimonial. Just wondered if anyone knows of any good rock bars/clubs that would be worth checking out tonight. I was planning on going to Jilly's on Oxford Road but found out that it has closed. You're help would be appreciated as I want to give my brother a great time in Manchester tonight.

Berba to PSG, perhaps a bid for Higuian or Benzema because I dont think Rooney and Hernandez are relaible as hernandez was unknown, the defenders didnt know how to deal with him this year may be different. Finally we definately need a centrak midfielder but I dont think Sneijder is the answer, he's going to cost a bomb in wages and 35million minimum will be the fee and he's already 27, (didnt we have a policy for age and big fee's) just soms suggestions what do you think?

I think the players we have bught well definately improve our squad.

However can we really afford to put our hopes in Anderson, he can be brilliant but then he can be poor to. Cleverly looks good too. My main concern is a DM as i think Fletcher is beeter than Carrick as he has more energy and will defend and attack, whreas Carrick likes to sit back and can distribute the ball well. WE need a tough tackling DM like Bidal although i am up for us developing our youth players and bringing them through as tunnicliffe pogba morrison thorpe all look like they could be quality players.

Ed's. I'm being serious about this, but have you ever thought about makin' Sydney an Ed? he knows his stuff, and to be honest he's on here on a regular basis to be able to get a lot of the stuff through..just a though.

The Moon. {Ed007's Note - To be honest Moon, Sydney is too valuable a poster to take him off the site to be an Ed. I hope that isn't offensive to you Syd or any of the other regulars who I admit, know a lot more about the club than I do. Anyway, are you trying to get me sacked?? This will be noted Moon :-)

I have a bit of bad news actually, the geezer that I was receiving info from has said in the past hour that yesterday City let Inter know that they are still interested in Sneijder. Does this mean it has gone wrong for City in their pursuit of Nasri? Or do they want Nasri for the wing and Sneijder for the middle?

Will this force us to meet Sneijder's wage demands? Are City doing this so we buy Sneijder, then Inter can afford Tevez? The mind boggles.

Hello everyone,
Can any one of ye explain to me how Guardiola allows his players, specifically Busquets, to carry on with all the feigning injury bulls**t. Saying it is part of the game over there is not sufficient. If I was a manager I would fine/sub any player who does it. I would sell a repeat offender. I don't understand why UEFA do not use video evidence to help stamp it out. It is a sign to me of a weak person, someone who has no backbone or courage, because it is easier for them to con the ref into giving a free rather than having to work harder to get the ball back fairly. Sorry for the rant but I rate this behaviour higher in my pet-hate scale than even no-name posters (and that's up near the top).

J Bones.

I hate when people say players are 'money grabbers'....or 'should think of career before money' etc etc.

The whole point is that it is their jobs, just as some on here may be a Post Man, or a Police Officer etc. At the end of the day everybody works for their money, and if you are being offered 120k or 150k it will obviously attract you more.

Likewise, if you are being offered 20k or 30k, which would you choose?

You can argue and say, "well at that sort of money it shouldn't matter to you"...it does, money is money at the end of the day, and no matter what your job is, your aim is to make money, and provide for your family.

had a good laugh at the banter between our fans on each others sites today, don't wanna be all too friendly and that but ---- isn't it about time we all (both sets of supporters) stopped this singing at games regarding Munich/Heysal and Hilsborough?
I know there will still be nob heads who won't stop but if we make an effort we could shame them into it.
Looking forward to the new season and most of all, beating UTD.
