Question for you guys. Depending on how Lukaku does and how Spurs do in the next few seasons would you want us to move for Kane? I remember Ed saying in the skarkopod it could be a possibility in a few years, so would you take him or maybe someone else?

Believable5 Unbelievable2

05 Feb 2018 20:13:46
I'd take him in a heartbeat. Best English striker since Shearer, and I think he'll go on to be one of the best. There's already not many better than him.

It was interesting to listen to Rooney saying that players are judged on what they win. Which of course is true. He reckons Kane will get itchy feet if spurs don't win a trophy soon. ' goals oy take you so far you are judged on what you win, on your medal count ' makes sense to me. Harry Kane will move if he is not winning because inevitably players are judged on what they win.

What a player. Really fantastic. He is something special.

I'm with you here Stevie I would LOVE kane at united.

05 Feb 2018 23:05:30
Echo what has been said above. He is a fantastic player who is so deadly in front of goal. Rooney said tonight he reminds him of Ruud van nistelrooy and can’t argue with that. I think if spurs aren’t winning he will look to leave and we should do anything to sign him.

Agree2 Disagree2

06 Feb 2018 06:30:52
It’s funny because just like Salah he doesn’t really look like a footballer yet give him the ball and he’s incredible. I think he will go on to a great career, my fear if he joined us is whether he would get any service. Lukaku is a goal machine but can’t seem to get the ball right now.

Ken
Kane is a fantastic player anyone can see it.
If sold he will go for mega money and every top club would want him .

A yet he has won nothing not a single thing.

He will move because top players want to win things and get paid lots.

Agree7 Disagree1

06 Feb 2018 10:36:47
Yep and that's how players are judged inn what they win.

Agree0 Disagree6

06 Feb 2018 10:52:10
No it's not Ken.
Kane is judged by what he does on the football pitch .
This obsession with fancy names and belief that if you play for a big team it means your a great player is childish.
It's why auier was the best rb in the league in the summer .

Kane won nothing, yet is rightly judged as one of the best out there .
Maybe the best 9 since shearer who was an amazing player . Shearer Won 1 trophy in his entire career . But surely no one would be daft enough to judge him by that?

Agree2 Disagree1

06 Feb 2018 11:06:20
If Madrid or any other team break the bank for Kane it will have nothing to do with what he has or hasn't won .
Won't come I to, it will be about what he can and can't do on the pitch .

Agree2 Disagree1

06 Feb 2018 15:28:13
I will like to stick with Lukaku, Need to compare the amount of chances created for Kane and Lukaku and their conversion rate.
Lukaku won't be far behind him.

"It’s bad for you because you like to have things to write and things to speculate especially in the summer, but I don’t want attacking players so don’t speak about attacking players coming here because nobody is coming here.
“Juan Mata, Lukaku, Rashford, Martial, Alexis … I don’t want attacking players so for speculation in the summer you have to go to other areas, but for attacking players I am really happy.
“We have to improve not in the quality of the players, we have to improve in the dynamic of the team"Jose.

Bang on. We have the talent in attack, now we need the chemistry and the players to develop. I hope that means Jose or his coaches are working hard in training on attacking plays - because they still look disjointed.

Agree2 Disagree1

05 Feb 2018 13:00:54
I completely agree with everything Jose said there.

You can add Lingard to that list along with young prospects such as Andreas Pereira, Chong and Gomes. I think we have more than enough going forward.

I think we could do with a couple of bodies in midfield to add depth and competition. And someone to battle it out with Shaw at LB. I would let TFM cover Valencia at RB for next season and we how he does. I would also let Smalling go and give Tuanzebe more chances.

I see Carrick taking a coaching role next season, Fellaini, Blind and Darmian leaving. Andreas Pereira may also leave if the right offer comes in. Unfortunately for him I think he burned his bridges with Jose by going on loan this season.

Agree6 Disagree1

05 Feb 2018 13:15:39
Agree with all of the above. We have plenty of attacking options and the best we have had in a long long time. I would argue we haven’t had this many options since 2008/ 09 team. But we are not getting the most out of them. Whether that is jose’s Tactics or that the rest of the team is not up to scratch I don’t know. I would say we need to get a third midfielder in so we can start dominating games and potentially invest in 2 new full backs. I would keep shaw and by a back up but a new right back is needed as Valencia is not good enough attacking. Semedo would have been perfect and he has struggled at Barcelona with roberto preferred. We are not far off and have some brilliant youngsters coming through in gomes and Chong who are not far away. I hope pereira and Fosu are integrated into the squad next year with one of them replacing Fellaini in midfield.

Tony and Shaw will be first choice left and right backs next season imo.

Agree2 Disagree3

05 Feb 2018 15:02:34
I expect so jred, although the word is Jose still isn't quite sold on Shaw. I think Blind is likely to leave next summer as is Darmian. That potentially leaves us a little short at full back. We'll have Valencia and Young both in their thirties, Shaw who Jose isn't convinced about just yet and the relatively untested TFM. Who is must be said has looked better in midfield in my opinion. So I expect to see us sign another full back for cover/ competition.

I don't want to see another CB sign as I have high hopes for Tuanzebe, plus we have Bailly Lindelof Rojo and Jones. But I would be happy to see Smalling make way for him. I don't think Smalling is a bad player, I just don't think he is good enough to start for a team challenging for titles and he is getting older now and will want regular games.

I think where we need a player now is midfield, I think we are missing that guy in the middle who makes a team tick, a Scholes, Xavi or Modric type player who can control a game. Matic is an excellent sweeper in front of the back four and Pogba great at bursting forward from midfield but we don't have that brain in the middle bringing all the parts together.

Word has it that the guy we have targeted for that role is Jorginho and he looks a player.

I don't see how jorginho and matic fit in the same team to be honest.

05 Feb 2018 16:43:50
Ive watched a lot of Jorginho and he looks a tidy little player. Cqn play short passes as qell as long balls. He can also tackle but is a bit slim body wise but so is Modric and David Silva.

Id imagine a midfielder, first choice right back and cover left back. Maybe a squad midfielder if funds stretch that far.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Feb 2018 18:24:19
What Jose is basically saying is that his area of responsibility is what needs to be improved upon, he needs to improve. Couldn't agree more, he has the tools but he hasn't used them properly yet.

Not sure why his honest admission is worthy of a new contract, but hey ho maybe he will get it right, maybe he won't - his family and bankers are happy whatever the outcome.

Agree2 Disagree2

05 Feb 2018 19:30:12
I really don't agree with JM's comments. We still only have 1 RW in Sanchez and he ideally wants to play on the left. It is daft to make Mata play there and Rashford does not seem interested, (which is beyond my comprehension) .

So, if Sanchez gets injured, we are stuffed again. Buying a RW that can also play across the front 3, in the summer would give us more flexibility.

Nice stuff Ed.
Don’t think Allardyce will last long in Everton really. I think he won’t be able to strengthen them imho.
Pep trying to bs about his only 6 subs. He is a shame to the football scene.
KdB talking about exhaustion. I thought only recently he talks very big about how Citeh is so strong and great. What a dumbass.
Conte worries about his possible sacking? He may have lost the locker room and even Abramovich support. Has his testicles shrank?
VvD accused Kane of diving. Funny. Game is over and get on with life 🤣🤣. He should not have kicked Lamela. It is what it is and stop whining.
The PL is getting more interesting from here for 3rd and 4th place.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - cheers mate. It was an interesting round up, everyone just wants to put across an agenda these days.}

05 Feb 2018 07:42:34
Yeah I know 🤣🤣
But at least I trust your review than what’s in the other media.
We have our favorite teams and support them but I know your review should be fair and not bias (I hope) .
Thanks for such efforts as I know it’s not easy.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I try and leave bias out as much as possible which is why I don't comment on Liverpool stuff. There is plenty of opportunity for me to comment on them on the Liverpool site so it makes sense to leave it alone to avoid unconscious bias.}

You’re champ Ed 👍👏.

{Ed001's Note - people will think I am paying you for the compliments! Thank you though mate it does make it all feel worthwhile researching and writing.}

05 Feb 2018 13:07:05
Allardyce probably should be looking over his shoulder. Everton didn't really want him in the first place so he is bound to be under more pressure than most to prove himself. Now with what was their first choice Silva without a job it would be easy enough to sack him and bring in the manager they were prepared to pay millions for on a free.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - strange choices of managers for the clubs changing these days. I mean Marco Silva? Hadn't they just got rid of one disorganised mess maker in Martinez only to try and repeat the mistake with Silva. But then to go to the complete opposite extreme with Allardyce is bizarre. Almost as bizarre as the decisions Allardyce is making. It feels like he is deliberately messing things up at times.}

05 Feb 2018 13:36:53
How you paying me?
You support Scousers and I ManUtd
I don’t know who the hell you really are and I am Asian
You m not worried 🤣🤣🤣 but we are football supporters that’s all we have in common
Thanks.

{Ed001's Note - I know mate, I was just joking.}

Everton is the job that would be perfect for Howe or Dyche to really prove themselves. Rather than just picking the first random foreign name that comes out of the hat.

Agree1 Disagree0

05 Feb 2018 14:31:52
Nou but would Howe or Dyche want? No offense to Everton. Everton must be prepared to fully support the manager. Else perhaps they might want Moyes back 😉🤣.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Feb 2018 15:11:56
Eddie Howe would suit that job down to the ground. He likes to get his team's to play a bit and I think looking at that squad of players it is more suited to a manager who wants his team to play good football. They don't have the quality in defence to invite teams onto them. Williams and Jagielka don't have any pace, Keane has been questionable. Mangala doesn't look like he knows how to defend but is decent with the ball at his feet and has bags of recovery pace.

I would look to bring in one or two more quick defenders, then play 4141 and press teams high up the pitch and hope the defenders are quick enough to recover when fingered against.

Out side of the top six there are no teams with the luxury of being able to build a balanced squad as they tend to get their best players picked off by the bigger sides.

So I think you need to make a decision and go all out defensive or all out offensive. Know your strength and play to it. They can't get the quality of players all over the pitch to have a balanced side. So why try being something that your not?

Great preview and analysis.
I think Chelsea is still very strong but players may not turn up if unhappiness exists against persone. 🤣 I totally agree about shutting down Hazard and that will give an opportunity to be a good opportunity for Watford.
Hope Watford wins (tough) but will be happy with a draw.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I have not been impressed with Watford under Silva, they were so disorganised defensively. Gracia only needs to sort that to have a very good team.}
