Use our rumours form to send us manchester united transfer rumours.

05 Jan 2013 23:26:34
Not a great performance tonight, just glad to be in the next round draw. We still look very suspect from crosses and set plays, Vida needs games so hopefully that sharpness the will come.

Valencia was very poor when he came on, he seems go have lost his pace, trickery, crossing ability, confidence, everything really!!! Would anyone consider selling him if a good bid came in?

I pray we get a good home draw tomorrow which may persuade SAF to take the replay v West Ham seriously and play the first team.

Anyone hear any good transfer rumours for United cos January's a long month if we don't buy anyone!!

The only transfer headlines on us is about Ferdinand and how he will probably stay and SAF wants him to stay.

Kind of discouraging and I am guessing it will be a long January for us if that's the extend of our activity. Reports ICSCo is going to City or Chelsea.

I think Isco could be wasted at Chelsea, fighting for a place with Mata, Hazard, Oscar, Lampard, Moses, Marin etc. He would be useful at City though as they rely too much on Silva and Nasri at times. So I'd be more worried if he goes to City.

It would be nice if we were in for an Isco style player as I think him and Kagawa either side of Rooney in a 4231 could be potent.

Problem with the majority of the united team this season is that most positions have been chopped and changed, injuries and a lot of players tarting to get some form then get injured e.g Anderson.

How many united fans are glad RVP is bangling in the goals? The team (squad) deserve a lot of credit for their fighting spirit. There has been a lot of disjointed team performances but there has been flashes of what the lads can do.

If fergie can decide on his best first team would help as well. Today's game was entertaining and a good old fashioned cup game. Let's get behind the team as they are getting there!

I know we all want new players but if fergie won't spend then the guys in the squad need to keep their heads down and remember they are playing for united !!

Thoughts to Wayne & colleen who lost her 14 year old sister today.

What has happened to Valencia?
He doesn't look the same player at all.
I feel we need to buy a top class winger!

Today yet again proves what happens when you spend and buy world class players. The influence they have on the team just by walking onto the same field with other players. Now personally I agree that this is a top squad however, I feel we are a few world class players away from having an unbelieveable squad.
Firstly in nets I feel we are fine De Gea is top quality and is only getting better. At right back we are fine, we are currently watching Rafael turn into a world class right back. Now in defence I am fully confident Vidic will return as good as he once was and Smalling will become a world class defender. That only leaves left back and I don't think Buttner will become a world class lb and I think Evra's best days are past him. It is also too soon to see Blackett in the squad, now my personal choice would be Baines. He really is a world class left back and currently I think he's one of the best if not the best left back in the world.
Now in midfield I don't think we have any world class midfielders. I have high hopes for Cleverley, he will become a top squad player but he won't be world class unfortunately, hopefully he proves me wrong. Now I think back up options of Carrick, Cleverley and Anderson is very good as Scholes and Giggs will retire at the end of the year. Now optimistically Witsel will be available after all the comotion in Russia and the fans not wanting him and Hulk there so he would be a top signing. Again being optimistic after the players awful start in Madrid i would like to see a move for Modric. He is a very good player and when he was with Spurs a world class talent. Now those three signings could change our team around but I would make one last signing. A replacement for Nani. Now any of Ozil, Rodriguez, Reus or Gotze would be good signings.. Now a team of
.............De Gea
Rafael...Smalling...Vidic..Baines
...........Witsel....Modric
Any Nani replacement...Rooney...Kagawa
...................RVP
Now that team has world class players in each position and players that are turning into world class players in front of us. So 4 signings and we would have a world class team. The foundations are there it's just if the manager acts on it
The Red Manc

Believable7 Unbelievable8

Oh ny god, it's like travelling back a year! Modric, Witzel and Hulk?!

DodgyBanter

Agree2 Disagree1

Oh my..... instead of them 3 we should be going for Lars Bender, Kevin Strootman and James Rodriguez.

Agree3 Disagree1

Instead of trying to be a smartass Dodgybanter you could have easily commented on the idea behind the post. That being this squad is only 4 players away from being a great and extremely formiddable team.
I understand that signing both Modric and Witsel is extrememly unlikely to put it kindly, however not once did I say we should be interested in Hulk.. I wouldn't want him anywhere near this team. Every player I suggest we sign, appear to be humble players, very hard working and the only time I have ever seen Witsel in the public eye was after one stupidly mistimed tackle on an opposition player.
Firstly Luka Modric, he's obviously having a hard time settling in, Real Madrid are ruthless when selling players on, Sneijder, Robben, Huntelaar etc. If we had any chance of signing Modric I think we should go all out for him as the only other suitable replacement I could think of is Cabaye. He is again a very hard worker, doesn't seem to have many injuries and never been in the public eye and that's impressive as he plays for France who have been surrounded in controversy. I haven't mentioned Moutinho or Sneijder as I am not sure they have a very good attitude and recently Lindengaard has said the training ground morale is fabulous so I am looking at players that will not disrupt that.
Now secondly Witsel, not HULK, he is currently playing in a weaker league, however we have bid for him in the past and he is the player we badly need. He is a very strong player, good going forward, very good defensively and due to the controversy in Zenit and the team playing awful and the report changing room bust ups, with Zenit players not liking him and Hulk I reckon a move for him would be a very good one. However, if he wasn't attainable for a fair price I would look at Wanyama, Vidal and Bender. All very young, all hard workers and none have been in the news for their behaviour off the pitch, in order of favourites, Vidal, Bender then Wanyama.
Lastly onto the left backs and Nani replacement. I chose both Gotze and Baines, as both are extremely hard workers on the pitch, Baines is already a world class player on the pitch and is an extremely down to earth player and extremely humble, if you have time watch his interview after the Newcastle game were he is dissapointed not to have had a hat trick playing at left back! and Gotze is going to be a world class player, one of the best in the world imo. He is starting to add a lot more goals to his name and he is an extremely hard worker, I have watched a few games this year for Dortmund and against Wolsburg in the dieing minutes of the game it is him sprinting past his midfield and defence to put a tackle in. He seems to have the same hunger and drive of Wayne Rooney. Also I reckon him Kagawa and Rooney could be a nightmare in attack as all are very hard workers, Kagawa yesterday covered a huge amount of ground but the problem was that we didn't get the ball to him in advanced areas and thats when he looks at his best, watch his link up with Hernandez etc.. Now as alternatives to these players I can't think of many left backs, Luke Shaw has been receiving a lot of plaudits recently and deservedly so for his performance vs Arsenal, Coentrao not the best defensively but very good going forward, however, he has a shockingly bad attitude. For this I would only target Baines and Shaw. In attack, Rodriguez is very talented would like to see him sign however, not sure of his work rate and I've never read anything in the press about his attitude which is positive. Isco is a very cheap option but he is quality but he has a very bad temper when tackled which could be a problem with him playing in the PL. So I would say in order of favourites it would be Gotze, Rodriguez and Isco..
Now four signings and we would have a very formiddable team and full of people who are hard working and would hopefully not disrupt the spirit in the dressing room...

p.s to the un named poster above, havent seen enough of Strootman to judge.

At Dortmund, Kagawa played in a 5 man midfield behind Lewandowski. But he needs time to settle, however he needs to move forward with the ball, he always passes back to the centre back or the player behind him. We saw glimpses of his talent today, but I think he needs time to adjust to our style of play.

Kagawa scored 17 goals and had 13 assists last season. The boy is talented he needs time to adjust to our different style of play. And you can't use the excuse that he is not used to the physical aspect of the BPL because the German league is also physical. Just give the lad some time, hopefully he can play along side Rooney.

So does anyone think Anderson or Rooney could return for next week? Even Nani would be a breath of fresh air with the lack of width we have had. I think we will need to go with a 4-2-3-1. DDG in goal, back four will pick itself Rafael, Evans, Ferdinand & Evra. Carrick & Cleverley in the middle with Rooney just ahead in the hole. Young & Valencia on the wings and RvP upfront. Would be nice to have Smalling, Jones, Nani, Anderson, Kagawa & Hernandez on the bench as options. I think the game has come too early for Anderson and maybe Rooney, but fingers crossed the latter is okay as he likes playing against Liverpool.

Pains me to say it but i dont like sound of ferdinand up against suarez would much rather have smalling there but we know saf wont do that

Also i think there is a gd chance rooney will be ready it could be just a case of classic mind games from saf

My last thing is imo valencia needs a break something just isnt right with him at the moment the guy was class last year but all of a sudden he has been average at best this season didnt think i would say this but im kind of looking forward to nani returning lol

If Rooney doesn't make it, who do you think comes in? I say another midfielder, perhaps Scholes, Carrick and Cleverly with Cleverly the most advanced. Then Hernandez comes on with half an hour to go (and perhaps a new signing haha)m

Samster, I think this is the team that will play Liverpool. If it was my choice I would swap Rio for Smalling, Jones for Rafael and Rafael for Evra. I would have Evans partner Smalling as Vidic is not ready. I would play Young and Valencia for their defensive abilities, but I would play Nani ahead of Valencia if we need a goal.

You could see today what I meant when I said that Kagawa could be better than Rooney. He is not their yet, but we are not there as a team yet. However he did show glimpses of magic, e.g. the succession of passes to lead to the Hernandez dissalowed goal. He really will be class.

As for this January, I still think that we really need Strootman. Whatever you say about Carrick, he was missed. We used to have Fletcher to rotate him with but this is no longer the case as Fletcher can't do too many games. Apart from Carrick & Cleverly, the only other partnership that works is Cleverly & Anderson. You could see tonight that Cleverly & Scholes simply wouldn't work.

Strootman is similar to Carrick but in my opinion more mobile. He would give us that added option in midfield for rotation. He would well with our midfielders and compliment them well. A must signing for me.

(Also, instead of signing Zaha, would love us to go to Vadillo).

I am still not convinced either but let's wait and see after he has played 10 to 15 games. I also agree our playing style and personnel does not suit him and he needs a much faster tempo game and skillful players around him.

I hope he does not turn out like Veron who in training was incredible and we saw glimpses of his brilliance but could never do it on a consistent basis.

Besides Carrick, our track record when it comes to buying midfielders is abysmal.

Well here we go again the same old scapegoats are coming out.Welbeck, Valencia etc etc.I seem to remember before this season Valencia was the best thing since slice bread.Sure he has not performed well this season and I'm worried by his lack of penetration and ability to take someone else but theres still half of the season to go so lets get behind the lad.
I actually thought Danny did alright and was one of our better performers.
One thing that did make me smile though was all of you that slag Michael Carrick off must now realise he is our best midfielder at the moment.
Despite a below par performance we are still in the draw tomorrow

Lots of rotation today and it didn't quite come off. I don't blame the manager thugh, I would have rested players too. The EPL is more important.

We did have lots of players out of position though and I think it started to show after a promising first 25 mins. RVP (again) and a beautiful assist from Giggs dug us out of a hole. A replay is far from ideal but it felt good coming back, and I'm glad we're still in it.

Kagawa was largely ineffective I thought. Not sure if the shape didn't suit him or if he's just rusty after injury. I am a big fan though and will be very patient with him.

What position is Kagawa? Off the striker he's done very little, on the wing he drifts in and doesn't beat his man and as a cm he isn't physical enough. What postistion would you like to see him playing?

Today's game showed the importance of carrick in midfield he keeps us ticking and breaks up the play well and we missed him.

Believable2 Unbelievable4

He is best behind the striker, but while Rooney is here he won't get a game there. So he is going to have to play inside left (Left AM) with Evra providing the width and Kagawa coming inside.

A game Kagawa would like to forget methinks, poor control and a couple wayward passes. He needs games. Vidic a player who also needs games was out outdone by the big WHU players. Both CB's were bossed out of the game for the crosses. Giggs had a great headed chance and fluffs, a minute later he makes a sublime pass to RvP who was never going to miss. We missed the width today and when you only have an off form Valencia I think Young should be the player to come on. He would have made a difference. Good goal by Cleverley, looked out of place on the left but more comfortable in the centre. DDG had no chance with either goal and I think Hernandez was brought off prematurely. Buettner looked okay, Scholes did okay and Smalling should have been in central defence where he would have taken care of Collins. Rafael wasn't too bad in central midfield, I like his speed when running at the opposition, he just struggles when they do not back off. Welbeck should have done better with his header and should have squared the ball to Hernandez, but he is struggling to get games so he was always going to be slightly selfish.

For me we had no reason to rest several players as they will get a rest up until the Liverpool game. Eight days rest is more than enough. For me the team struggled to gel and that was the main problem. Although I will say if it wasn't for them two crosses and headed goals WHU didn't look a threat.

It was never going to look right for the 90 mins with that lineup IMO. We had a RB at RW, a CB at RB, no natural LW and our best players rested. I agree with resting our best players TBH as the league is so important. But I don't like seeing so many players played out of position. We were always going to look disjointed with that lineup, up against a decent EPL team with all their players being played in their natural position. We should do better at home though, so all is not lost!

I have to say I agree with most of Syd's post here, but I'd like to add that Valencia was once again woeful. Welbeck played well I thought, but for should have been replaced with RVP as Chico is a complete nightmare to mark with his constant erratic movements. Buttner was only good because no one would pass to him, frustrating because I'd like to see more of him. He plays well for the reserves.

Before the 90th minute were we trying to win that game? Really? because it didn't look it. We played the game at a pace that suited West Ham, so very slow and deliberate. They play that way to get set pieces and get the ball in the box, but with the pace we played at it looked like it was a training game that didn't matter. It is no good hiding behind Scholes is a great player, he was but he isn't and hasn't been for some time. Fergusons insistence on playing him changes the tactics, tempo and pace of our game, it makes it far far too slow.

Welbeck doesn't know where the goal is and is not United quality for a forward, he flatters to deceive too many times. I believe Kagawa is suffering because the pace of our game is so slow, especially when he is used to quick passing and movement. Still he needs to improve. It also shows how important Carrick has been because apart from a goal Scholes, Kagawa and Cleverley didn't do very much at all. There are worries about Vidic because as I feared two such knee problems can be an issue at his age and he looks to have lost pace.

Great ball from Giggs but then we come to RVP, the first touch was genius, the finish sublime and that rather than the rest of them is the reason we are still in it.

Red Man

Believable5 Unbelievable2

Even though we dont play to Kagawa's strengthes, he has to take some of the blame himself. In chicharito and RVP, we have 2 of the most clinical finishers who can destroy any defence with their movement, and Kagawa has not been able to create one decent chance for any of them.

Even though Kagawa doesnt fit entirely into our playing style, he has to up his game because he has not shown that he can displace an off form Wayne Rooney. We'll have to judge after he gets an extended run of games.

Mick

Kagawa was not very good but let's hope its just a settling in period. Sometimes it takes players time to settle and I think kagawa will come good.

So for me a couple of things from that. Firstly stop playing people out of position when we have players who can play there. Next when Scholes and Giggs have time on the ball they are still class. But not in any other situation. Scholes shouldve closed Cole down for the first goal. Next I think we need a new left back which is obvious and a mid fielder who will have a go at the players now and then. We need a captain to say a bit. I think kagawa with the right players around him could be class. I don't rate cleverly as a long stay united player. i though we had good moments. And finally who the he'll is our defensive coach? We need to deal with crosses better. Oh well. We're still in it.

Another average performance. Good to see vidic back, sure he will get back to his best with a run in the team. United have a real problem controlling games and desperately need a CM. Scholes and giggs past it as most people say on here. Kagawa shows glimpses of brilliance but there are very few players that would get in another top side (and I don't mean Liverpool).

Would not sell DDG, will be a class keeper. He needs more support though from the midfield from crosses and set pieces. Cleverly looked very mediocre. Wanayama, Strooman or even Eriksson would vastly improve the overall team performances in providing the right type of player.

For me saying that people don't rate a players ability due to there surname is a load of rubbish. If a player is good enough then they are good enough. I remember posting a year or so ago that Evans while being a good defender will never quite reach the levels of say Ferdinand and vidic at the peak of there powers. I will hold my hands up and say that he has developed further and is our most consistent defender at present but I don't think he will every be world class. For me the one potential world class defender we have is smalling I rate him very highly even with a non Latin surname. Again I will stand by what I said before when all our centre backs are fully fit Evans won't start. I think it will be vidic and smalling.

He got sent off at 1-0 (well 2-0 cause of the pen) in the city 6-1. So yes it was his fault as we played the rest of the game with 10 men. But pinning the blame on him for that is stupid. That 6-1 everyone played awful and at 3-1 we went for it when should have just taken the lose. Evans has had some bad games but using the 6-1 weakens your point

Evans has really come on and been consistently good now since Vidic's bad injury. He does read the game well and can play the ball out nicely too. When you look at his career he is relatively experienced, which is why I think he deserves the chance to cement his place ahead of say Smalling, who is very talented nonetheless.

I think we tend to to better with one of our experienced CB's (Vidic, Rio) in there to organise. So I'd like to see Vidic & Evans given the opportunity to forge a partnership as soon as Nemanja is fully fit.

i think he's stepped up well whilst vidic has been out for a season. Add to that every other centreback has had their own injuries this season, its been a case of evans and whoevers been fit. And he's started to add goals as well. Out of the defenders only evra has more! As for the concentration issues, yes its a concern but they seem to be getting less frequent, and remember rio had the same issues in his early twenties. He managed to sort them out. So why can't evans? Evan vidic has had issues, look how torres destroyed him. Lastly world class is such an overused term especially by the media when they over hype english players. If evans becomes an integral part of multi championship winning side and champions league winning side then he's a very good player. Not world class but on the level below. Look at the rest of the backs, de gea is potentially world class, so is smalling. We're watching rafael mature into a world class rightback. Ok we're lacking a world class leftback but thats another topic. No reason why evans who is still young for a defender can't mature into a world class centrehalf with experience. He has a lot of attributes, good passer, bit of pace, could work on his strength and heading. Very under rated player but i've seen him since the reserves and never doubted he'd come good. Mort

Agree6 Disagree0

Adam, I didn't blame Evans for the 6.1, I just said he had a stinker in that game. I like Evans and think he has improved significantly, I just think he switches off at times and when he has an off day, it's a very bad off day.

it difficult to sign german players. Its similar to england so i think in the past they've preferred to go to italy or spain. Also those countries had the money previously. Now the standard has gotten high in germany most don't want to move. Recently its been the turkish german players like ozil and khedira who have moved abroad.

We also looked at Ozil and Lahm once upon a time. I would love a bit of a German contingent!

Just read that Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa who plays in the french league and is supposedly an arsenal target would love to join us and drams of wearing the shirt. I have never seen him play and wanted peoples view on him.

Alvero Vadillo is coming back from the same kind of injury as Vidic. Highly rated in Spain before his injury. 18years old & not signed a pro contract yet. His Agent has been spilling the beans that if any team wants him they have to act fast. Apparently after a certain amount of first team appearances his value increases. Talented left winger worth at least a 5m gamble surly. His buyout clause will be something silly like 25m by the end of the season if we don't act this window.

A good replacement for Nani if he leaves & it would bring a young Spaniard into the team to help DeGea who's rumoured to be homesick.

More talented than Ince 7m or Zaha 12.5m & I've heard we've been keeping an eye on him as a player & his contract situation.

It would be fate for us to miss out on Hazard & Lucas Moura 30m each & pinch Vadillo the "NEXT RONALDO" up for next to nothing.

Jan 2013
Alvero Vadillo 5m (LW)

Summer 2013
Lewandowski 18m (CF)
Strootman 18m (CM)

All we need.

Signing Sneijder would be pointless & surely upset the applecart.

POINTLESS because he didn't come when he had the chance so we moved on to other younger targets like Powell & Kagawa. Plus Anderson still hasn't pushed on yet with increased game time & fitness he will reach his potential. Still work in progress with Anderson. Great age 24 to be a real gem of a player from now till the end of the season. I think when Scholes leaves at the end of the season we will see the best of Anderson. Even Petrucci will be 22 next season. I'm sure he'll go on loan to a EPL club next season & prove his worth for us.

UPSETTING THE APPLECART: Sneijder is on so much money.
Like City have found out that causes problems. It starts a domino effect of players knocking on the door demanding more. Rooney has done this & now Nani is trying this.

SUMMARY: we don't need Sneijder nearly 29 & been injured since sept. I'd much rather give Anderson more game time than he actually gets at the moment.

REALITY: if we do buy a midfielder it will be more likely a box to box or more defensive minded.

Khedira - interest in him & Ozil has always been there.
S.Bender - scouted aswel as Lewandowski
Yang-Mbiwa can play LB, CB, DM - scouted
Defour - Fergie has been watching his progress since his leg break, a talented box to box player. Also Captain of the talented young Belgian side.
Wanyama - scouted
Moutinho - rumoured to be watching along with Rodriguez. Nearly signed for Spurs in the summer for 22m. I'm sure Fergie would want to get one over them & that double crossing snake Levy. (Zaki Fryers dodgy deal) plus a player of this quality could give Carrick valuable rest time & competition.
Strootman - probably most likely & constantly scouted.

Sneijder hasnt being injured he has being frozen out because they want to change his contract that they agreed to an he is standing his ground ..... I see your just like the rest "he had his chance" bandwagon so no point in a honest debate .... I don't want ronaldo back he was here an left for Wat he tought was a better team wit better wage why should we buy him back "he had his chance" same kind of thing really

you can't compare sneijder to ronaldo. Ronaldo is in the very top bracket of players, the only player comparable or better than him is messi. Thats why a lot of people want him back. Sneijder was good, but is he really all that? He was alright at ajax and would have been a good signing then. At madrid he was ok but didn't set the world on fire. Same at inter, he had one good season under jose but since he left he's declined. Also where would he fit into the team? I don't think he'd fit in a midfield two with carrick not the fastest combination. Also if we play with three attackers behind a striker i doubt he'd fit in there, rooney and kagawa are our numbers tens. We need more fluid players to play in that system.

I was having an interesting discussion earlier, if you had a choice between a player that isn't the greatest technically but plays for the club and is proud to wear the shirt, or that player that can change a game with the little piece of magic but might not have the passion. Which would you choose?

Hoppy

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Easy, magic over passion anyday. I would give both my nuts to play for United, doesn't mean I should.

I'd take the player with the technical ability and use my motivational skills to get them fired up if I thought that they were capable of playing for the best club in the world. For a club like United, being a good solid pro on its own is not good enough to make the first 11. You have to have something extra to offer.

How did we overpay for Carrick you clown look at what we have won since we bought him. I AM KLOOT

I could not agree more, he is without a doubt one of Fergie's better buys up there with the best considering the consistent class he has provided since joining.

Believable12 Unbelievable3

Well said kloot I always have this argument with my friend who iss a spud, Carrick is one of the most underated md of his generation! Just because he doesn't run around like a headless chicken doesnt mean he is bad, top players dnt have to just run around to be gd the real top ones no when to run and when to wait

Oh an GDS people who cannot explain why they don't want him instead of "he had his chance" crap are muppets the bandwagon has being going for awhile read posts properly before commenting an try see the sense in it ....... Cause these are things muppets say if you agree then you my friend are also a muppet cause you know Wat makes sense f&k the popular opinion .......

CAIN

-----------

You actually suggested that everybody that doesn't think we should get sneijder is a muppet, don't backtrack now, we can all see your post down the page.

If you have ever seen me post on this site you would know I do not just follow the popular opinion and give my own opinion and also listen to others, without calling anyone a muppet or resorting to silly abuse if I do not believe with them.

I don't actually think we shouldn't sign sneijder because of what he did in the past, I couldn't care less about that. He is a good player and could be great for us, but how you think paying somebody 10 million a year is not a risk is beyond me. You say that we don't care about wages, but we clearly do. Just because the only thing you are interested in is the transfer fee doesn't mean 40 million over 4 years would go on to a balance sheet.

I am not doubting he is a good player, but I am not too fussed if we sign him as I can see a lot of negatives that for me outweigh the positives.

GDS

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Would prefer if we brought a young hungry midfielder who wasn't on 10 million a year compared to Sniejder.

Even if Sniejder is 10x better than him.

Look at Man City, some of their players earn so much they don't bother giving there all.

Strootman would be a much better option than $neijder.

-JakeW

Agree5 Disagree1

I have never wanted sneijder, never liked the guy, i would prefer to sign a young midfielder who isn't going to demand huge wages or upset any of the squad.

JK92

Agree3 Disagree1

Can we just end this now please?

Sneijder is a world class talent and i'm sure everybody would love to have him at the club including SAF.

HOWEVER the wages he is demanding makes the move unreasonable, City and Chelsea wouldn't normally pull out of deals because of wages so we know that they are relatively large.

Great player but his wage value doesn't represent playing value.

The Moon.

Agree2 Disagree0

Moon - Spot on buddy, He is a top player and would walk in to our team whether played as the deeper lying playmaker or used in a fluid 3 with Kagawa and Rooney behind RVP..... His wages are the stumbling block and he needs to take a cut if he wants to go to a serious club like United and not to an Anzhi where they are a joke of money chasing misfits.

Agree4 Disagree1

GDS I cannot answer you seriously the reason I want him here are in my posts if we could get young talent wit experience who has class who is not cup tied an will cost around 12mill then by all means tell me who you have in mind ....... We need this sort of player in the middle of the park whether you agree or not ...... An you will find it very hard to find young talent to fit all these things we need we have young player who should get there chance but we cannot play them in high tempo CL matches we can but him an play him after some beddin in ........ You cannot denie this makes sense an if you can't see it then you are nothin but a muppet end of......

Really think a lot of clubs (and i'm not just talking about Manchester United) missed a trick with Holtby...have this strange feeling we could be about to see a Michu type situation, someone gone relatively under the radar who will make a big impression!

Just another point while I'm here...I hope we revise our January transfer attitude either while SAF is still here or with his successor, there's names out there that would be great to pick up and undoubtedly be slightly cheaper than the frenzy of the summer window!

Andy!

Believable3 Unbelievable1

We do not have a 'January attitude' as you said.... This is total BS... We have bought plenty in the winter market.
