I bet we won't hear from you for a couple of days.

How many times in the last few weeks have you told us you will win 2 cups this season. As far as you were concerned winning the FA cup was a formality-and you scousers call us arrogant!

I think without a doubt you win the trophy for being the biggest prat on this site.

Well done chelsea, now onto Kagawa, how true are the rumours?, would fit like a missing piece in our midfield and potentially for only 7-10 million(quoted) which leaves us with plenty of money to buy a striker/midfielder/both,gem of a player and only 23.

I like many have posted our views on transfers, but think it will come down to what's hap with club, the glazers are crippling us no doubt but does anybody hav a clue what meant to happening? The 30% sell off stock floation to raise est 400m which moved frm HK to Singapore market as on what Glazers would have to reveal,as now for some reason gone so queit,so are they doin a 30% deal with somebody? Not clever enough to know how excactly the PIK loans worked, but wasnt they payed off by Glazers at £220m&it was shown it didn't come from Utd cash&the glazers don't hav 220m knocking abou as of family debt so where did the money come from?

Andy Townsend really is a complete and utter scrotum. If that was over the line then I'm Father Christmas. Why must we pay for the 'privilidge' of having to listen to these people?

Well its chelsea 2 up I find myself in two minds about this I definately don't want the scousers to win the cup ,yet we could find klown kenny sacked if they win he will probably keep the klown post at the club.
Losing means theres danger that they sack him and get a proper manager in or if we are really lucky they could bring wafa back

lets be honest, we would all love to see the likes of modric, hazard and martinez but with city offering ridiculous ammounts of money for all the [players we are interested in can we realisticly expect to get them.. "Nicolas likes Manchester United a lot - he would like to play for Manchester United," said Gaitan's representative Jose Ibarren (skysports.com) this is clearly a player that wants to play for manchester united, so why not go for him. he is not as good as hazard no. but i refuse to belive fergussons constant reminders that there is no value in the market AND that he wi;ll not buy somebody that is not good enough for our team. and to be fair i think the majority of fans dont even want a marquee midfielder anymore, i could think of many players under £15million that would improve our midfield....

We need competition at LB. Evra has grown complacent.
People have mentioned Baines but would he be happy competing with Evra? I believe he'd take his place but is he confident enough to challenge for it?
Would Everton ask for a reasonable fee?
Are there any alternatives?
Any thoughts?

The signings we need to make to conquer the premier league and champions league.

Javi Martinez - Will help fit that holding midfield role using his height, strength and great mind to pass through to the likes of Rooney. He can also play cb if there becomes any problems. 30-35 Million

Hazard or Rodriguez - Will provide more width but can also play the AM role cutting inside with a beautiful finese shot and power. Hazard 28-30/ Rodriguez 18-20 Million

Kagawa - Will be on the team sheet playing the CM role but will see him play just behind Rooney alowing Rooney to play that more free role with that extra support behind Welbeck 7-8 Million

Siggurdson - To offer support if needed 8-10 Million

Personally We need a exrta striker if were getting rid of Berbs, My opinion Van Wolfs or Higuian

why do people seem to think kagawa is coming in to replace park? is it because they are both asian?

they are two completely different players! kagawa is like a silva/nasri type if player where as park is just a chaser and someone that closes players down.

Everyones seen the Fiorentina Manager walloping Adem Lajic on the news/YouTube.

Got me thinking...........
If Fergie would of had a clean run up and decked Mancini what do u think would of happened?

- would he of been sacked?
If u hit someone at your work place, u would be.
- heavily fined with an 8 month ban in the directors box.
- prison maybe? There is talk about that Italian Manager doing time for hitting a junior. He can't really deny he hit him.

United,City,Newc,Spurs in the Champs Laegue.

If that was the case Arsenal, Chelski and okay Liver-poo
Will struggle to buy top players that want to play in the top competitions.

Who do u think will leave if they don't get Champs this season??

Arsenal - RvP, Frimpong, Walcott, Song, Denilson who else?
Chelsea - Drogba, Malouda, Sturridge, Kalou, Lampard, A.Young, Torres, Morieles will Mata wanna go?
Liverpool - Suarez, Gerrard, Reina, Jose Enrique maybe?

Any chance of any of these kicking up a fuss to get a move?

It's been discussed on here how it was said, Gaitan isn't coming to United. It was on the Paddy Crerand show MUtv.
A reason wasn't given to why he's not coming.....?

How many people can actually say they've seen this lad play more than 5 or 6 times. To many fans are jumping on the bandwagon of "he's rubbish" not as trendy as Hazard, Erikssen or James Rodriguez granted. Was anyone happy with the Valencia purchase when Ronaldo left?

Thing is I remember Paddy saying Michael Owen's to injury prone and Ashley Young isn't good enough so we won't be interested in them.

If Gaitan does come to United he'll get my full support.

banter please eds (sorry it's about England, so if your not English and don't care then just skip by it)

just want to think what peoples England team would be for the euros?

mine would be: captain: Parker/hart

____________hart____________
richards_lescott_ferdinand___cole
_________parker_lampard_______
walcott_____rooney_______young
___________welbeck___________

gk:
hart, robinson, foster

defenders:
richards, walker, terry, cole, baines, rio, smalling, lescott, cahill

midfielders:
barry, lampard, milner, carrick, cleverley, johnson, young, walcott, parker

forwards:
rooney, welbeck, sturridge, crouch

just missed outs:

JONES hasn't been consistent enough IMO, and we don't know where his actual best position is.

WILSHERE: injured, not match fit

LENNON: not good enough IMO, we have better options

GERRARD: hard choice, but injuries catching up with him, and lampard is the better option.

SCHOLES: probably wont come out of retirement

DEFOE: not enough game time, better options who have played more games.

JOHNSON: not good enough, have better fullbacks

BENT: injured, wont make it in time.

It look like Chelsea's only chance for UCL qualification is to win the finals. My query is-
1. Suppose Chelsea wins, does it mean we have 5 teams for UCL from EPL ie 3direct +1 play-off + Chelsea?
2. Suppose a team wins the UCL final but gets relegated (though very unlikely). Do they still qualify for the elite league?

Al! {Ed004's Note - No the team in 4th will loose out and Chelsea will qualify. And yes to the second question}

As much as i wish Darren Fletcher all the luck in the world and i sincerely hope he gets over his debilitating illness. Lets look at things realistically this is a player who's whole game was based on his physical ability to get up and down a pitch for 90 minutes. I don't know if any of you have seen him for the last year but he looks like Skeletor. He has been on steroids to fight the disease. Do any of you really believe he will come back even half the player he was if he ever comes back at all. And you can call me cynical but what are the bets that Fergie uses the phrase "Like making a new signing" if he comes back. i mean for god's sake how desperate are we getting. This has nothing to do with Darren who i hope goes on to have a long and healthy life it is about our club and the lack of resources we have. We need at least 2 world class midfielders. A left back and a forward who can hold the ball up if he has to play there on his own. If we get all 4 i will hold my hands up but I know we will be linked with everybody and end up talking about youth and young players which really means players who won't want as high wages. Monday night was not just a game it was a sign of things to come if we don't invest. I mean jesus christ we went to their ground just to try and hang on to a 0-0. I am sorry I was under the mistaken Idea that we are Manchester United and we go to win wherever we are playing. I AM KLOOT

So, SAF thinks that the Everton game was the killer, saying that we gave an absolutely ridiculous performance in the last 10 minutes.

Perhaps he'll learn from his mistake in not shoring up the defence then?

Also, perhaps he'll realise that his team selections and strategy against Wigan and City were poor?

Or wasn't any of it his fault? I haven't heard anything close to an admission of blame from him, have you? This is what sickens me.

So Mancini says ciddy are now top dogs in Manchester & England, does he base that on 2 derby wins this season or the fact that we are level on points with 2 games to go. Christ people say United are arrogant,in all Fergies time at United i cant ever recall him coming out with such drivell. The league aint over yet, its advantage ciddy but you never know. To quote another clown " i would love, just love it,if we won the league". MIDDLETON RED.

Ed or anyone, with the money being pumped into city, where do you see these people making money? Are they not doing it with some long term gain? Or are they just doing it because they can because it's no for their initial love of city is it? What are their motives because it's not necessarily that clear.

Supasub {Ed001's Note - Long term they intend to make the club profitable, they are spending huge sums improving the club's infrastructure. They can afford to look extremely long term.}

"It's not rocket science Danny, but the reason we aren't more competitive is solely because of the debt they saddled us with. Take that error away and we would be more competitive."

Now that's not true at all Syd. The profits the club is bringing in is profit after money has been already diverted away to service the debt. The problem isn't just that we are in debt, it's that the Glazers are diverting more and more money to the debt in order to clear it in a shorter time frame. For years we've all been aware that we have had a fairly large pool of surplus cash, especially after the Ronaldo sale. The assumption was that this cash would be available if a major target was identified. However, what is becoming increasingly apparent is that this cash is deemed by the Glazers to be extra cash that can be flung at their loans.

And you might think that United being debt free as soon as possible is a good thing, and it really should be. But to be perfectly honest we have no idea that it will. If the end goal of the Glazers is to sell us for profit then this may simply plunge us back in debt or if they aim to keep us nothing is stopping them diverting the profits toward dividends like they have been doing toward their debt. Paying off the debt is primarily in the Glazers interests, and the direct benefits are to the Glazers and not the club.

Essentially the Glazer's entire strategy has been to look after their own interests at the expense of the club's development. This isn't simply because of the debt, it's because of the Glazer's entire outlook on club ownership. They have never committed any of their own resources to the club, they transferred all their investment risk to the club and if they clear the debt it will be to improve their own end, not to make us more competitive. The Glazers only want us competitive to the extent that the profits don't dry up and that will always mean minimising costs. This isn't about debt it's about their whole philosophy to club ownership.

" It's like saying a rapist isn't actually that bad because at least the used some lubricant."

Danny Pughnited

that made me laugh even with a saturday hangover.

syd's stance on the glazers is strange , he defends them at every opportunity but in the same sentence denies defending them.
i think the issue is he cant admit there is ever anything wrong at united therefore cant admit the glazers are having a negative affect on the club.
his only issue seems to be the debt but he justifys that with the stance if we weren't paying interest on the debt we would pay the same amount in dividends so we are no worse off.

As delighted to hear this as I am, I hope that it doesn't detract from some investment in our midfield.

Why settle for less in t CM when we can/could have done much better with the likes of Chamberlain n Van de Vart (sigh) and now Kakawa, Hazard, Martinez oreven Fellani (he might develop into WC player wearing our jersey)
As for Welbeck, he must not be in the starting line-up rather he should be send back t Academy to re-learn t basics 4 few months cos lets face it this season t goal scoring chances he got and his conversion rate was lousy!(please dont tell me am t only one)
