Now we’re definitley through ;) I’ve come to say well done on getting through fellas goodluck for the draw! As much as we hate your lot at anfield (and I’m sure the feelings mutual) it’s great to see English teams doing well again! Goodluck.

JBLP, its good for the epl with their riches the clubs are attracting the best coaches and some of the best players are starting to come too.
It would be good to see someone break the Spanish stranglehold on the trophy for the last 4 years. Of course for me its anyone before Liverpool. I suppose Basle, Seville and Porto will be the teams that spurs city liverpool and ourselves will be hoping to draw obviously madrid bayern and juve are best avoided for now and shaktar would be an unwanted trip.
I have a feeling we will get drawn against bayern for some reason.

So Clattenburg was petrified of Keane and changed a corner decision because of it. Is it just me or should he have kept this to himself. You have to wonder what other decisions he bottled and it shows players that intimidation can work.

{Ed025's Note - i think he has shot himself in the foot garr, he has done a lot of damage to the reputation of other premier league officials as well mate..

Horrible, horrible man he is.

Not sure if he is a horrible man, but definitely a bit of a fit.

He was seen as the best so his recent revelations are pretty depressing. I always thought he had balls but apparently they are they are the size of peanuts. Very sad.

Evidence that sometimes referees want to make it all about themselves. even after all of these years he’s wanting the glory, we joke about Fergie and refs but this is such stupidity from a ‘professional’.

He has been naive but I would suggest listening to the podcast in full rather than picking out the quotes out of context that the press want you to head.

I agree with that gds but the thought of listening to his whiney voice for a full podcast puts me off. I always thought he was a pretty good ref to be honest.
I think it's the hardest job in football from grass roots right through to the epl.
They take it in the neck from u8 upwards. To be fair every time the blow their whistle and give a decision they are upsetting 50% of the people. Player coaches and the media are all guilty of making the refs job harder than it should be. Remember collina he struck fear into the players and earned their respect. Watching english teams in Europe they rarely surround question or abuse the refs. Sometimes familiarity breads contempt and the players in the epl are too familiar with the refs and you can see at times that the refs are in awe and fear of the players instead of the other way round.

I watched the Chelsea game last night.
I saw a very different side to Griezman. He works so hard for the team dropping into defencive areas to help out and his transition from defence to attack is fantastic. A real team player. He is a jose type player based on last night's game. Very tactically astute coupled with great technical ability
I know ed002 said don't hold our breath for greizman but i really hope we can get him into iour squad.

His work rate was great last night ken. Playing in a Simeone team means every player has to do there but defensively so that would make him a perfect player for Jose. I really really hope we go all out for him and he has that creative quality that we lack at times. Martial has really stepped up but he’s nowhere near the finished article. Griezmann would change our attack and he would be our Sanchez or hazard. Ed did mentions Barcelona is more likely but I hope we do anything to secure his signature.

Work rate is one of the best parts of his game stands out every time I've watched him .

Was at the game Ken. Griezmann is special. Work rate incredible and not sure he misplaced a pass.

But I was in awe of hazard. What a player.

Angel

When Hazard became available (like Aguero) was that when there was yet again no value in the market?

Has a wonderful talent but I sense he needs to be slightly more consistent .

06 Dec 2017 18:59:32
Red man, yeah, that famous line.

Yes, I feel he could score and assist an awful lot more because he has all attributes. He needs to have a season like Ronaldo did for us before he left, before he can be considered among the top bracket.

Agree1 Disagree1

07 Dec 2017 17:24:12
Hazard has been pretty consistent though, guys. I agree he doesn't score or assist as much as Messi and Ronaldo, but he creates a LOT of chances. He's always got 2 or 3 people marking him, and still he keeps on making the difference.
Look at the chance he gifted Willian against Atletico. That should be an assist Evert every damn time, but Willian messed up the finish. What Chelsea really have to do is get another top attack in so that defenses can't fully focus on Eden. Maybe then the stats would reflect the impact he has on games.

Hi boys. So on the Liverpool page we've started a thread about a charity football match in the summer of 2018, held in the midlands.
Eds 1 and 2 will be the arm chair managers of the two teams in which we will aim to live stream the match on the sites.
There will be a cut off after the first 50 entries, at which point 30 usernames will be passed onto the eds for them to pick their teams (15 each)
It will be £35 per player, so we raise over a thousand pounds for the eds charities.
If interested, please email benjaminallen1991@hotmail. co. uk and include
Real name
Username
Age
Position
1 strength
1 weakness

We are currently on 20 entries so get in touch asap.

Cheers.

Hi long time reader first time poster, how do people feel about bringing Depay back?

06 Dec 2017 13:01:54
Neh i am being serious he'd be cheaper then Bale and Bale is very injury prone.

My ideal player for the left side would be ivan perisic or Asensio if we can get him.

Dint want bale for the price quoted.

Agree2 Disagree2

06 Dec 2017 14:21:57
Bale might play less games Singh but he would play twice as many good ones as depay .
Personally i'd steer clear of both. I always wanted bale at united but the cost would be high and the risk higher due to his injury issues.

Left wing names that come to mind:
Jonathan Viera
Julian Brandt
Julian Draxler

One season solution:
Zlatko Junuzovic.

Agree with ken always wanted bale at united and felt it was a perfect match. But the injuries have taken its toll and we all know muscular injuries are the worst to recover from. On his day he is devastating and up there with the very best. I would prefer we spent big on griezmann, Dybala or Draxler as mbd has mentioned.

I would rather try and recover from a pulled hamstring apposed to a broken leg . That's just me tho.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Dec 2017 21:18:37
Walrus that always depends on the severity.
100 professional footballers would take a straight broken leg over a ruptured hamstring.

Fantastic from Shaw last night. He showed just how good he really is. Hopefully he gets more chances and it wasn't a case of putting him in the January shopping window.

We certainly need two quality LBs/ LWBs and Young and Shaw could be those two, as they will need to be rotated.

Believable6 Unbelievable1

06 Dec 2017 12:10:25
Shaw needs to take it one game at a time and give everything every time he pulls on a red shirt. I’ve been one of his biggest critics, and if Rose is available I’d take him.

Don’t forget he was asleep for Moscow’s goal so whilst a positive start and good match from him, let’s see what happens. Shaw has proved he can’t commit to training at an elite club. Maybe he’s grown up and realised what’s needed. I hope so, but fear it’s a false dawn.

Agree2 Disagree1

06 Dec 2017 12:53:55
He was at fault for the goal but that is down to him being rusty. That will will come with game time. Rojo gave a penalty away not too long ago after being out for awhile.

Agree2 Disagree0

06 Dec 2017 13:06:11
Rojo throws everything in every game. He’s great and trains well, loves the club and sits in the Utd fans at away matches showing us his commitment. Shaw has done none of this and is in his third year with us. Jose is putting him in the shop window.
