herbie i totally agree with you on the anthem. Its just so poor most of the time. There's no passion to it. A german song about a bunch of germans who'll be gone in about fifty years or less if europe have their way. And more young people are becoming less interested. Their desperately using the will and kate factor to prop them up but young folk will be onto the next fad soon enough. I much prefer the welsh or irish one's far more rousing or even the french. Least they have tunes. The only british anthem thats worse is the scottish. Awful tune poor lyrics. Who cares about some battle seven hundred years ago anyway. Get rid and have land of hope and glory or jerusalem.

im a ni and man utd supporter, i am completely and utterly embarrased by my countrys national team. we are making mistake after mistake every match. no matter whether we r a small nation or not getting beat 4-1 by estonia is complely unacceptable.
although it was good results for england and scotland.

Alot of you 'slagging' off evra's recent displays, but tonight cole's defence work has been pretty poor, but still attacks well, similar to evra? Something happening with left-backs? haha

Pissed off that neither jones or cleverley even made the bench tonight, what was the point in calling them up if you've no intention of playing them. Imagin if one of them had got injured in training this morning.

GAGUS, are all you reds seriously talking about replacing SAF? Do you think he will retire THIS season? The first manager after Fergie will have a poison chalice, as if he is not successful he will be under pressure straight away. But in a couple of years time Owen Coyle or Paul Lambert will be ready for such a demanding job. If you look abroad will Guardiola leave Barca, perhaps Mourhinho ha ha
or what about KIng Kenny as Man Utd manager!!

sorry to bring it up again edd but fergy just done an interview where he insists he's never had Sneijder lined up as Scholes' replacement, and says only Barcelona duo Andres Iniesta and Xavi can be compared to the United legend.
Ferguson said: "Sneijder is not the ideal substitute for Paul Scholes. He is a fantastic player, but he is not the type of player we are looking for at Manchester United. Xavi and Iniesta can be compared with Scholes. (cut and paste)

What is it with G.A.G.U.S. and Timalloy who seem to get the biggest thrill out of comentries that include the word Dick. You two probably watch the two Ronnies and wet yourselves when one of them uses another word rather than breasts or any other part of the anatomy. Well I know you will get a laugh out of this one. It seems to me that you two are a couple of Knobs. RAINFISHTROMBONE

We're all discussing who we would like to succeed Sir Alex as Manager, but would people most like to as our Assistant Manager? I'd personally want either Scholes or Ole.

What about your guys? ED?

P.S - what's happening with the prediction page thingy?

GAGUS found these classic commentator gaffes
Radio 5 Live commentator
Julian Dicks is everywhere, it's as if they have 11 dicks on the park!
Ron Atkinson
Well Clive, It is all about the two M's - Movement and Positioning
Ian Wright on Seaman
Without being too harsh on David, he cost us the match
Terry Venables
In the second half, they didn't change positions, they just moved the players around
Simon Brotherton
The header was cleared off the line by the Crossbar
Hope you all had a smile Timalloy

I think this is the plan for next summer..

GK: No change, De Gea, Lindegaard and Amos will make up our three for the squad.

Def: I can't see much change here either, perhaps Fabio will take over more from Evra, however thats about it.

Mid: Gotze and Iturbe to be brought in, both young exciting players who will add tremendous amounts to the squad. Gibson won't be here by then, probably won't be here in January for that matter. I fancy Gotze will replace carrick, can't see him at 31/32 being here for much longer, Pogba will have a regular place in the first team soon.

Iturbe will be brough in, he's that sort of exciting player that we love at Old Trafford. He will take the place of Giggs, Fletcher will be our most experienced midfielder i feel. Maybe a cheeky move for Beckham as a nurturing figure. Petrucci, Pogba and Morrison will begin to feature more and more.

Str: Berbatov and Owen will be out, Berbatov realistically could be gone by January but i think Owen will hang around till summer. Macheda will take Berbatov's place with Hernandez, Rooney and Welbeck all fighting for a place. I think a striker will be brought in, the player i feel will be Giuseppi Rossi making a return to Old Trafford. He is quality and would be a fantastic piece of business for sure. Joshua King and Will Keane will also have a small part to play.

Squad:

De Gea, Lindegaard, Amos.

Rafael, Smalling, Jones, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evans, Fabio, Evra, (Wooton, Reece Brown).

Valencia, Young, Nani, Park, Iturbe, Gotze, Cleverly, Fletcher, Anderson, Pogba, Morrison, Petrucci.

Rooney, Hernandez, Rossi, Welbeck, Macheda.

Excellent young squad there full of promise and ability.

I think we should all be sceptical about any takeover; to be fair most of us appear to be. One thing which doesn't quite make sense in my opinion is why would the Glazers do this whole flotation malarkey when surely they would be in the know that they are soon to be bought out?

what is the deal on here today. I came on to read about United - and it's just a bunch of liverpool fans having the same arguments you all had last week. and the week before. what is the point in having a Man Utd section of this forum if it's constantly getting gatecrashed by bored scousers.

well with silly season over and seeing as were stuck on an international break i think i'll have to start up a topic of disscussion. So seeing as Sir Alex could retire in the next year or two which current prem manager would you want as manager when he steps aside?(i'm not saying it'll be a prem manager who replaces him i just wanna see which managers you rate)
Personally i'd go for Owen Coyle as he has transformed bolton into a good footballing side without splahing $$$ and is a good motivator.

Then which current international manager would you give the job to?
For me it'd be either Laurent Blanc or Jochim Loeb as both play the right way and seem to be doing well blending youth with experiance to create great teams.

The awkward moment for a commentator when David Goodwillie and Rod Fanni are playing in the same game.
