Has anyone read the Guardian article by Daniel Taylor 'Rivals’ grand designs put Glazers’ neglect of Old Trafford in spotlight'?
Well worth a read - shows how far we are lagging behind because of reluctance of Glazers to spend any money on the place.

I have been writing on here for a long time about the non development of OT under the Glazers. Yet some think the £400 debt and owners who don’t seem ambitious for football success doesn’t have any impact.

I have read the article and feel sad as well.
However, I do wonder; in every organization, we have people in charge of various sectors. Surely we have a Stadium / Grounds manager with a team of workers behind them. These are the people who will need to maintain what what we have and also make proposals for various improvements. It is only when we are certain that the above is being done, that I can confidently blame the Glazers otherwise the only way i blame them is for keeping an incompetent team (if indeed we have one) at that department all these years.
Just like the Fawtly Towers scenario, in a case a Hotel of Utd's magnitude, you can't blame the owners much IF the departmental managers aren't doing their jobs.

If there is no money available then Grounds manager can’t do much. I walked down the road behind the Railway about three years ago and there were houses and land for sale, why? Why was the club not buying the land and houses? It felt like the club have no intention to build the South stand to match the rest of the ground. They own masses of land but it would cost hundreds of millions and that is the crunch.

Red Man, i understand what you mean. However my point is that the owners won't walk down that road, they will rely on the people they employ to tell them and make a good case for buying it. It is only when we know for a fact that this has been done that we can blame the owners.

Has anyone on here watched tuanzebe playing for villa, I have read a few good reports but never seen him play cb for villa, it would seem he is more comfortable at cb rather than rb,
Will he need another season at villa before he steps in at United.?

He was their best player before he got injured. I think he looked really commanding and authoritative every time he played. He’s definitely a cb imo. I honestly think he would be starting with lindelof at the moment he he hadn’t gone on loan. I think he should be involved next season as 3rd/ 4th choice cb ahead of Rojo, Jones, smalling and behind lindelof and a new signing.

I think if he was ready for the first team we might not have renewed Smalling and Jones contract. Rojo will leave I'd imagine. So with Bailey, Lindelof, Smalling and Jones. I can see Bailey leaving and someone being brought in potentially start next to Lindelof next year.

Another year for Tuanzebe on loan will do him no harm. Just make sure we don't balls up what club he goes to.

I think you’re right mumbles, however he could maybe be used to cover right back and if I remember he did well in front of the back 4 for a few games? However a loan would be better than having him getting the odd game here and there.

Looks a talent.

Mumbles, we could sign Ramos, godin and varane. Smalling and jones would still get new contracts.

Do you know what those ‘real circumstances’ that saw fekirs deal fall through ed001?

Really odd that a move could get to that late a stage then fall through. But not like liverpool have done badly without him.

{Ed001's Note - price. Liverpool tried to get a reduction in price and Lyon refused.}
