Am excited the Southampton game could put us in second but can't wait for the Liverpool game only had to shots on target yesterday really think we could hammer them

Believable1 Unbelievable6

You mean third mate.

Agree3 Disagree2

Liverpool look there for the taking but form tends to go out the window in these games

Agree4 Disagree0

I am going to bet on Ballotelli scoring but we will still have too much for them. Falcao to score too.

Agree0 Disagree0

Form means nothing in this fixture as we've found out plenty of times in recent years! It's the one game of the season I don't enjoy watching and feel sick from 1st minute to last! If willing give a weeks wages right now for a 2-0 win

Agree4 Disagree1

I still expect us to beat them pretty easily. Di maria will have a field day if he's up against glen johnson

Agree3 Disagree1

Johnson is playing as left full back at the moment and do maria is injured. So that's out of the window for now. I think a 1 nil win will do as there won't be much in it.
Anyway, shouldn't we be concentrating on the Southampton game?

Agree1 Disagree0

In fairness NoMidfield, I don't think we will influence the Southampton result haha.

With Strootman looking like the midfielder that we will get in the summer, what do you think his place is? And whose place in the team does he take.

For me, he takes the place of Fellaini and plays alongside Herrera and Di Maria in that midfield 3.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed004's Note - I would play him there as well}

Possession wise we should be good. We should have quite a bit of drive and creativity in there too.

Agree0 Disagree2

I would put him on the bench

Agree1 Disagree3

Have you not watched the games at all. Fellaini at times has been the most advanced midfielder of the three and would not be replaced by Strootman.

Strootman will play the deepest midfield role sitting in front of the back four. A replacement for Carrick if you will. Herrera ahead of him and preferably Di Maria slightly ahead of him.

Lining up it would look like this.

Strootman
Herrera
Di Maria.

Strootman is not an advanced player. When deployed by the Holland team he filled out the Carrick role within the team. Keeping things ticking forward and providing cover for the back line.

{Ed004's Note - I was simply saying I'd play him in a midfield 3 similar to what you have just posted. Alongside Herrera and Di Maria}

He does break forward to though JaMax.

Agree0 Disagree1

Strootman, Carrick, Blind, Harera, Fellaini, Di Marea, Pereira, Mata. If we kept these players next Year as well as signing Strootman (if) we would have a good blend in the midfield and options for a possible CL campaign as well.

Agree0 Disagree0

He's only just back from a bad injury. So I don't think we'll buy him in January. I certainly don't think he's worth the money being touted about.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not January, summer for sure though.
