I think united have a good team though not as good as previous years.

i think transfer targets for the summer are:

1) Modric
2) Cissokho to replace evra as he is getting older and has been playing 50+ games a year
3) Hazard without question and i would let nani go if we get a suitable offer

other ideas for the summer after

1) Dede to replace rio/vidic depending how they get on
2) M'Vila as a holding player as modric can play deep like scholes has been this year

what is everyone else's opinions?

cheers

Not trying to get ahead of myself at all here, but if we were to win the league a few matches before the end of the season, would we lift the trophy at that match (assuming it was at a home game) or is it always at the last home game of the season? Cheers

Whoever posted about a possible 20mil bid for balotelli.

Are you mad? You seriously think fergie would take in someone as immature as him? I'm sorry but mourinho got rid of him fron inter because he was crazy. He got rid of him as quick as he could. I for one definetly do not want that man anywhere near old trafford.

As for possible transfers for next season, I don't think we need to much additions. Maybe Clyne will come in. I would be happy with that. A midfielder would be a big plus, but the way scholes and carrick have played this season, we should be alright for next season.

Some people slate welbeck. Remember this is his first season as a first team player. He's done alright, and will only improve. I like him basically because of his work ethic and hold up play, him and rooney upfront is a dream partnership, both for united and England.

Evans and ferdinand deserve a mention, their partnership has been immence. With vidic returning next season, along with smalling who will be a top defender, our centre half positions are covered.

Evra has won me over in the past month, I had doubts for the first half of the season, but he's hit a decent patch of form. Maybe consider a change in a years time.

Nani is one who concerns me, sometimes he can be a match winner, but more often that not he's abit careless, and hasn't reached his potential that I expected. If we where to get rid of him, I'd like to see gaitan replace him. He's not an attacking midfielder. Against chelsea he played wide left, and was the stand out player for benfica in both legs. I'll hear moans about this one, but its only my opinion, gaitan is the best option for me.

But the man who has most impressed me is De Gea, had all the critics on his back when he joined. Now, he's kept 5 consecutive clean sheats, and has already silenced those critics. Aslong as he gets build up abit more, he will only get better.

The title race isn't over yet, 18 points still to play for. Its only over when we see it mathamatically over. But somehow I don't see utd losing this one now. City crumbled, couldn't handle the pressure. Utd have done it before, experience is always a key factor in the title race.

Balotelli won't play for city again, surely mancini can see he's nothing but trouble for them. It would be nice to see them keep him though, just for entertainment :)

Connor.

Ok here goes, thru gritted teeth!
In a certain way I'm sort of pleased that Man Utd are looking like winning the league. It shows that an abundance of money is not required & maybe team effort, confidence & knowledge of how to get the job done are more important than £400 million of footballers. I wouldn't have gave you lot a chance of winning a few months back but between putting a tremendous run together & Citeh falling apart, you look to have done it.

What I will say is that all in all the PL is nowhere near the quality it was 3/4 years ago. I don't this is a great Utd team, but the teams below you are possibly worse again. Winning the CL is a fair way off with this team in my opinion. Well done!

I have been saying the last two games were key for us to win. Mancini helped us no end by indicating that if we won those two games it was difficult for City. How did he expect his team to handle the game today after giving that message?

Now we have won the games let us look at where City are now. On Wednesday they will feel like they have thrown it away. West Brom have nothing to lose and could actually spring a surprise. City may go out and win but psychologically they are in a difficult spot right now. I get the impression Mancini was forced to play Tevez due to his asset value and that has not gone down well with either Mancini or the rest of the squad as it indicates weakness in the managers position even if they like Tevez. Why would they like Tevez , he had a five month holiday playing golf whilst they were fighting for every point. Then when he comes back all the papers talk about is that Tevez could be the one to win them the title. All the work they did whilst he improved his handicap stood for nothing.

We have not tended to do things the easy way but lets win against Wigan using the same focus as Blackburn and today and see where we are.

The 1-6 derby loss represented a 10 goal swing on the goal difference. Will be nice that now it will probably have no relevance but had it not been for that game we would of won this premiership very comfortably. Not bad for a team in transition.
It's still not over yet but surely no. 20 is on its way. 3 or 4 top signings this summer and a great side is forming again.

Yes it was not a peno today or a sending off but we'd still have beat them. But we do deserve to win the title and we don't get as much as people may think. Newcastle got a pen in old Trafford that was never also Rooney got a ban last season for saying fu-k to the camera rio got 8 month for missing a drug test that he done the following day. We can't be blamed for what refs give look at Chelsea yesterday 2 clear offside goals. The reason the big clubs get more pens is that they attack more. I really hope johnny Evans gets player of year.

You've won the title again, congratulations.
Referees do favour you and I don't believe you deserve the title however it cannot be denied that yet again the determination and mentality of your manager has seen you through.
For those of you who were calling for his head 15 games ago, well imagine that team winning the league under any other manager, I don't think so.
Well done but he won't go on forever. Interesting times ahead, Chelsea, Spurs, City and Liverpool are all at a crossroads, if Ferguson stops soon then it will be a battle royal.

Very much enjoyed the match today and am enjoying watching City struggle as well. I think that if Arsenal even get a point we are really going to have to mess up not to win things. From then we can move onto summer in which i think we will do some very saavy business.

We are going to have probably £30-50 million to spend. I'd spend that on two players, Huntelaar and Modric. Huntelaar need not start every game, but his scoring record speaks for itself, he is quality in the box. Modric would be the missing link as well i feel, the man that SAF wants and seems to continually praise. Pogba will come in more and play in the box to box role that we want Martinez to fill.

The other signings i think could be got on free transfers, firstly i'd get Clyne. With Clyne, Rafael, Fabio and Fryers we have good young full backs progressing (also probably keep Evra as no one out there is much better and he is the captain). The other player i want, is a winger/attacking midfielder. We will not have the money for Hazard, Muniain etc, but we could get Hoilett who i think is one of the best EPL players this year and has done a good job for Blackburn. He might not make the step up, but he might, and with the attributes that he has i think he'd be a first class addition.

We could go for a center back to bed in while Ferdinand is slowly filtered out, we'd then have Vidic, Evans, Jones, Smalling and one other. Would be great to see Benatia here, but equally Dede or Inigo Martinez fit the bill as ball playing center backs!

Satisfactory result

We played very deliberate football for much of the game, too deliberate. Pass and move but pass simple without really hurting the opposition, just keeping the ball almost like we were too scared to play and give the ball away. It also took far too long to realise QPR had basically formed a line at the edge of the box yet we kept trying to pass through it. It was pretty obvious we needed to have a shot or two from distance if nothing else but to make them come out to us and break the line. Surely our assistant manager , a master tactician could see what some of us could see in the crowd.

Valencia had a decent game even though he had little room to get behind as they were so deep. Carrick was excellent and Scholes had a good game.

It was pretty obvious we lacked a cutting edge. Welbeck gets the ball but it just doesnt look under his control instantly, it almost bobbles around his feet. How long can we afford a forward who is not scoring and in honesty is not looking dangerous. Hernandez doesnt have the all round game and would have found it difficult today because there was little space to run onto crossed balls which he likes most.

We lacked that creativity in and around the box, Ronaldo, Van Nistelrooy, Cantona, Cole, Yorke all would have a field day and it is the area we need to address, creating and scoring goals in tight games.

We again missed a chance to put the goal difference into our favour by not having that quality up front to make us a real threat.

Ashley Young, well it looked a little theatrical at the game and he was definitely offside.

So it is the second half at the City game, most interesting situation, if City pull off a win then there is an added pressure on us on Wednesday almost switching around the psychology. Lets see.

This isn't related to United, but I'm interested to know people's opinion on it. Ronaldinho in his prime or Messi? I think Ronaldinho because he was almost the complete player. Strength, dribbling ability, insane passing, never dived and above all, did it all with a smile on his face.

Delighted we got the three points, but a little dissapointed with aspects of the performance. Credit has to go to Young and Evra who i thought did a marvelous job out on the left. Scholes and Carrick were tidy also. As usual Rafael had his odd mad moment but was very unlucky not to score.

Rooney, Valencia and Giggs had pretty solid games - as did the team in general.

I would of liked to us be more clinical, we had so many chances, a very high shot rate which did not lead to enough goals in my opinion. I've defended Welbeck and Hernandez in the past, they are good but i do think that perhaps we do need another striker who is clinical. Oh how we missed out on Benzema.

I suppose SAF may be leaning towards that himself as he is often bemoaning wasted chances and saying that we need to be more clinical. It would also mean that we stick to our shape (4-4-2/4-4-1). If we were to go for Modric or Martinez, either would suit me, then we would probably look for another striker given the amount of departures that we are likely to see up there in the coming months.

Lastly we have to talk about the penalty which should never have been a penalty, probably not even a foul. Although i don't think much would of changed, we'd of got the three points. I think the sending off if anything slowed us down, we relaxed and sat back. It could of, and should of been a lot worse.

Good morning Guys
Well the juices are starting to flow with just over 2 and a half hours to kick off. This could be the day when we put one hand on OUR trophy. The only thing that concerns me about our game with QPR is over confidence.Everyone on TV is convinced we only have to turn up to win. This is dangerous.I want to see the lads come out of the traps and attack Rangers with a fast tempo this will get the doubts into the rangers players heads. We have the opportunity to make a statement something we failed to do against Fulham.
With all that in mind I'm going for a 3-0 United win with Rooney running the show.

Today is a day for complete focus. A draw would give City the chance they need.

Mancini is already giving out the wrong messages but a draw today would let them see hope and encourage them. Arsenal need to win because they now have Chelsea drawing nearer and Spurs remain a threat. I think there is added spice after City signed Nasri and Cliche.

I see a lot of posters commenting on saving players for Wigan away and next weekend. We need to play our best team today, it is the key game and then when we see what the results are we can look at Wednesday. That doesnt mean not considering that we have another game in 3 days but at this time of the season with no cup games we really need to play our best team and not make too many changes. Yes Scholes and Giggs might find it difficult but we need to utilise Cleverley especially on Wednesday at the club where he was on loan. Giggs must not play in central midfield or certainly not in a central midfield of two.

As for QPR I would expect they will double up down their left to try and nullify Valencia so we need to ensure we have options on the left as well. I wish the crowd would be less nervous, it transmitted to the players at the Fulham game , we have been down this road so many times so lets get behind them. At the same time the older more experienced players need to do better than the Fulham game where for the last 10 minutes they just gave the ball away. Today we need to start with a high tempo from the beginning, an early goal would help but we must impose our game better than we did against Fulham
