Scousers drew against Blackburn and have to go to ewood park.

Can't hurt having them to play a replay. Watching them they looked very average and nothing to go wow about.

Imagine the meltdown on here if we had drawn 0-0 at half to Blackburn. And this is the team people are scared of finishing above us.

It all depends where you set the bar and expectations. Each to his own as they say and I for one would be pissed if we can't beat balckburn at OT.

It speaks for itself that we have ceded a 10 point lead and now down to 2 points. Mismanagement if you ask me and my view of where we all finish has not changed.

Just making the point that this amazing liverpool team in such good form couldn't score at home to a championship side. If it had happened to us there would be mass hysteria, I'm sure their expectations are pretty high too.

It just goes to show how difficult it is to score against a well organized packed defence. This has been our problem now for 2 years. We don't have the pace or intricacy to break down a resolute defence, and we have been vulnerable to conceding on the break when we over-press.

The slow build up is made for teams who will defend in numbers. It allows them to set their lines and get very compact. It lends itself to quite a bit of frustration. I agree we don't have a silva or nasri that have that bit of quality to open teams up.

TBH I don't rate this Liverpool team and the fact that they are on our heels is even more frustrating. PL football generally is quite poor at the moment evident by the fact that everyone has been sent packing in Europe with the exception of a couple of teams.

I am by no mean Lvg's biggest fan but looking at our situation we have all forgotten the massive injuries we had this year along with losing lots of experience players on the pitch mainly at the back. Given all that we are only 5pts off second. We have some very big games coming up to achieve top four finish, but overall are we that bad this season?.
I feel we are only a couple of top players away from being back challenging. We are improving all be it slowly.

All quite meaningless if we don't finish in the top 4 Mate.

Performances have been shocking. Most teams have played better with far inferior players on the field. If you watch every game we often haven't played well at all.

I don't think anyone's forgotten about the injuries. The issue is we don't seem to have improved since that problem eased.

To me, the inability to get consistent positive contributions from our 2 marquee signings, ADM and Falcao, has been the reason we still look as sluggish as we did last year.

Still, there's 10 games to go. We have to play all our major rivals. It could be a blessing. Here's hoping.

Ed what's happeningeith James Wilsons contract? With McNair and Blackett getting new deals I thought we would have heard something by now, it's a little worrying.

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea I am afraid. I have very little interest in contracts.}

Just have to point out how much Smalling has improved on the ball recently. He now brings it out from the back better than all our other centre backs and even made it onto the clubs regular tricks video!
