Just seen lfc's post about you getting favourable decisions off refs, and you do, but the sad fact is most successful clubs do, Barca do, Real do, we did when we were winning titles like you are now, it's just the way it goes, you get more decisions when things are going well. I think pretty much all clubs think they don't get there fair share of decisions off refs, it's just what happens, and on refs the standard in the Prem this season has been woeful.

Why are gooners posting on our side about a united/arsenal hybrid team I'd take no arsenal player other than rvp, so go back to your own site please, we all know you want a title/championship but you don't have to fantasies what it would be like to contain united class in your '1 man squad'

The mirror claims that mancini has said that balotelli has cost city the title. Well in the words of benitez roberto you picked him and thats a fact. As for the derby game I would love it, love it if we beat them;-). In all seriousness we just need to take each game as it comes and try and pick up 3 points. I dont know if it was complacency in the cl but the media would have us believe we have already won the league. Bookedredmole

I think it is time to come down off cloud 9.

We havent won anything yet, but at this point reading posts on here it feels like we are giving the team, the great, quality, or whatever you want to call it, squad a big pat on the back for winning the league and then starting the look at signings for next season. Many are, in my opinion, being a little arrogant as if we already have it wrapped up. We are heading for a fall because if we blow it from here it is us who will look foolish.

It is eight points but it can easily swing on Wednesday, with two difficult games against Villa and especially Everton to follow and then the derby.

We need to stop congratulating ourselves and get back to talking about the business of winning games. We should be talking about the difficult away game on Wednesday against a rejuvenated Wigan and hoping that the Manager has them focussed and ready to start quickly.

I notice below that ed04 said that pogba is not a defensive midfielder(which I agree with) but what position do people think he is best in as I have seen him play in various positions? For me he has the passing and shooting ability like scholes but does not seem to unlock defences like him. I would play 1 up front with either a deep lying striker/attacking midfielder in front of pogba and a defensive mid. That said he is still young and will develop. Eds, others your thoughts. but has anybody else seen Nasri bitching about arsenal on twitter??

I mean dont get me wrong im no arsenal fan, but arsenal made him into what he is, and for him to come out with the kind of stuff he has makes him one ungrateful brat.

If it is true evra begged him to sign for us, I thank god he chose money over us!

---------------Szczesny----------------
--Sagna--Vermaelen--Koscielny--Gibbs---
-------------Song-----M'Vila------------
-----------------Wilshere---------------
--Chamberlain-----------------Podolski--
-----------------van Persie-------------

That'll be Arsenal next season.

Will be very competitive.

Looking forward to it already.

Ok next discussion;

If there was to be an Arsenal/United hybrid team what would it look like imo it would be...

-----------------De Szczesny*-------------
---Sagna----Vidic-----Vermaelen----Evra---
---Valencia--Wilshere--Chamberlain--Nani---
-------------Rooney--van Persie-----------

*Both at an equal level atm. Both had their moments (De Gea v Norwich and Szczesny v Liverpool)

I was just reading down through the posts about who should be our next manager and in my opinion it should be one of; Loew, Mourinho, Ancelotti - in that order.

Everyone has their own opinions on the matter but for the life of me I can't understand why people would suggest Pep. He's done next to nothing at Barcelona. All if his buys have been terrible bar the obvious players like Villa and Cesc. The team that he's INHERITED has all peaked at the same time and they were playing with the same style they are now in comparison to what they were before he took over.

I'm not saying he's a bad manager, I'm saying he's unproven..to come in at a club where all of there players are peaking at the same time isn't going to be a tough job is it.

As far as I'm concerned one thing has changed in his managerial reign and that's simply that the focus has gone from Ronaldinho and Eto'o (what a great deal that was) to Messi.

At least see how he deals with keeping a steady, winning team through a transitional period or how he copes with another team before saying he should be our next manager.

My final point on him is his tactics, I find him so 1 dimensional it's unreal, if his team can't play the 'Barcelona way' (which I believe Arsenal have been playing long before Barcelona) then his team all of sudden turn into Tom Daley and friends.

Josh King had a brilliant game today. Why do people write this guy off with his chances at United? He's quick as hell and a decent finisher. Scored 1 and got an assist today. Much better than Macheda, would rather have him in the squad than Owen too.

If we are looking for a forward then we might as well go for Giuseppi Rossi, he is a quality player and will be available for a cut price figure. I think that he may be resigned, i know we don't have a history of resigning players, but he has come good and would be worth the risk in my view.

i know we could do with a new striker as two or three or leaving and rooney is the only consistent top striker we have. But why huntelaar? Flops at every big club he goes to. If we were to go dutch i'd suggest wolfswinkel or de jong would be more likely.

The Moon. {Ed004's Note - With 100 million I would go for Izzaguire/ Cissoko, Martinez, Muniain/Hazard and Higuain. Will never happen in a million years though and just me being optimistic.}
.........................

sorry to carry this on, but i agree ed with the players you chose
cissokho(from what ive seen) is a very good left back, and there isn't many about and with him in our team would be an improvement on our first 11.

martinez IMO is better than carrick at defending and he also has very good passing and has age on his side.
if we don't bid for him we'll never know if he would join or not, so bidding for him wouldn't hurt anything..

higuain, is a hell of a lot better than hernandez and welbeck, i don't think the most biased united fan can argue with that.

so with just 3 players being bought we could improve our first team a lot and take us to that next level which we require to be challenging in Europe again.

IMO,
cissokho > evra
martinez > carrick
higuain > welbeck/hernandez

plus you could also add clyne, kovatic and maybe hoilett to that.

also i can't see hazard joining, i don't think rooney is going to move from "the hole" and that is where hazard plays best so we wouldn't need him.

so just to recap,

______degea_____
rafa__rio_vidic__ciss
_________________
toni_mart_clevs_nani
______rooney______
______higuain______

and like i said in my other post, it would probably cost 60m after sales to get this team and we probably wouldn't need to buy again for a few seasons.

(also moon, i like the players you mentioned but i don't think they will improve the first team a great deal, they'd certainly be good if we needed a bigger squad but we already have good players who can replace the injured first team players)

JK92{Ed004's Note -I forgot about Rodriguez from Porto in my previous post. I would like to see him or the other two signed for left wing as I do not think Young is good enough or Nani is good enough for the left wing. Look how good and productive our right side is with Valencia imagine that creativity from the left and centre. A tonne more goals would be scored. And with Higuain, Martinez and Vidic we have a lot more height for set pieces}

Can we please stop the Modric bandwagon now? He is a big fish in a small pond, the same as Berbatov was. There are much more capable central midfielders (in terms of attacking and defending) available for a cheaper/similar price. I'd go for Martinez or Cabaye first.

Okay, seriously. When SAF leaves, it has to be David Moyes for me, he is a manager of the highest quality. He just done it again, absolutely annihilated a strong Sunderland team, after beating Swansea at home a few games back. His players give their all and he rotates his team like SAF. His team, although put together for a fiver, plays some lovely football and are very tactically astute. Their's going to be a huge problem when SAF leaves, one I think can be solved by Moyes.

i gotta say im pretty impressed with the youngsters in the dallas cup final even though they lost but they showed the spirit we are accustomed to with our first team. 14 minutes to go and with 2 men down, we pulled a goal back and pressed finished it 2-1. But i am very impressed with the boy tunicliffe in particular. He was shown a straight red for dissent. I know it has been said that he is the new roy keane because of his playing style’s attributes, he also has the personality and the presence that made roy keane one of the greatest captains of all time. Hopefully we re seeing a superstar in the making. Wouldnt be too gutted to see pogba leave if ryan turns out nearly as good as roy keane !

Just a thought, I think that we are looking for a goal scorer but probably someone who is not too expensive and will act as a stop gap while we wait for Keane to mature.

Many names have been said but I'm surprised that defoe has not been mentioned, a natural goal scorer who has experience at a pretty high level. He'd not cost a paxket either.

Sydney, Cleverley is years older than Jack remember. Oh and regarding Song, ask any neutral fan Carrick or Song and the answer will be Song.

Sometimes I have to pinch myself in amazement. Since he joined the club i think there has only been one season he has not won the Premiership and yet some people on this site talk about selling Carrick. Why because he does an essential job and makes it look easy so people assume he is not doing much. It's not a coincidence what we have won since he has been in the team. He is the perfect foil for Scholes and when he finishes Gerrard will look at Carricks medals and think "If only". I AM KLOOT {Ed004's Note - He is criminally underrated.}

Mate you sound silly. Song was our best player yesterday, maybe second to Arteta. The fact he has 10 assists while playing in CDM says it all. He would walk into Uniteds team no doubt. Better than Carrick and Fletcher.

Also question to all MU fans (answer sensibly)

Who will be better Wilshere or Cleverley?
Who is better RvP or Rooney?

and why?

Trying to spark an interesting debate.

just a quick assessment of the squad/first team.

DDG- going to be the best GK in the world within the next 3-4 seasons

EVRA- not good enough at defending anymore, needs a replacement if we want to improve.

EVANS- very good second choice CB but not a first choice IMO.

RIO- good experienced player that has been vital this season, kept our youngster in check by guiding them through rough patches, still got another season left in him before we replace him.

RAFA- very talented player but rash and inexperienced, but he can only get better and certainly has the potential.

YOUNG- good player, has a good cross but is a little predictable but he can also score so good addition IMO.

CARRICK- great passer side ways and backwards, doesn't unlock a defence often but he does the job there, but IMO needs replacing, not getting any younger and not the type of player we need.

SCHOLES- is our little xavi, but unfortunately he is getting old and wont be around forever so he needs replacing in the summer.

Valencia- BRILLIANT.

rooney- i prefer him as a lone striker but is more than capable of playing in the hole...obviously..

WELBECK- has potential but IMO isn't united XI quality, good player to have on the bench and for the squad but doesn't have that special thing about him that we require. should be on the bench and a new striker should be bought.

so hopefully next season to take us to the next level we should bring in a LB, CM, AM, ST.

LB: cissokho - wants to play for us and has the quality.

CM: martinez - going to be hard to get but we should go all out for him because this guy is pure class, and can play CB if needed.

AM think the attacking mid should be a good young player that can gradually become first choice, IMO kovatic should be the one.

ST higuain - if it is true that he may be available in the summer then he is a must! pure class, great finisher, great movement and great link up.

just to add, if clyne is on a free then we should also get him for cover.

so team for next season.

smalling
jones
evans
clyne

carrick
scholes (if he dont retire.)
anderson
pogba (if he signs)
kovatic
welbeck
hernandez
..that would be our 25 man squad (i know there is 26 there so maybe 1 go on loan?)

OUTS:

owen, berbatov, park, giggs, evra, macheda.

i think if we have the cash available in the summer then this team could be a real possibility, it would probably cost about 60m after sales, but we wouldn't need to spend again for a few more seasons.

I am once again astounded by our squads strength and resilience.

In a season of which the majority of our squad has had atleast one injury barring perhaps Evra. Vidic, Anderson, Jones, Smalling and the Twins have been plagued by injury this season, barring Jones and Smalling whose injuries have been little niggles and/or knocks.

8 points clear at the top of the table at this stage is a lead that i wouldnt have dreamt in my wildest dreams, at the beginning of the season. But despite my worries and concerns about lack of investment, our squad has practically seen out one of our toughest seasons yet. Us, City, Tottenham, Chelsea, Arsenal were all looking to push for the title this season. (Id of put Liverpool in there but they're currently fighting to stay in the top half of the table.)

Who'd of thought our two most consistent, solid players this season would be the very own Jonny Evans and TonyV (always thought he was one of our most important players).

Don't wanna jinx it, but im gonna go ahead and say it, it is ours to lose after all:

One hand is firmly on title #20. With a squad that has had a fair few lacklustre displays, many set-backs and a huge share of injuries.

I'm proud to be part of a set of fans that can criticise, be concerned and support their team properly. The team works off of our home and away fans' support and love of watching the men walk on in the beautiful red shirts. Every player at United strives to impress our fans, although some do not impress us (Evra, Park, Berba etc).

So here's to the ever close title #20, the players that have got us there and the legend that is Sir Alex Ferguson who we continually put our faith and trust in.

CHEERS!

Watched the Arsenal City game in a pub in Wood Green yesterday with a mate - they had a few screens in the garden so we were sat out there watching. It was pretty lively in there, and were cheering on Arsenal, but it seemed that everyone else was cheering at really weird times in the game. My friend and I realised that we were actually much closer to Tottenham than the Emirates and decided to keep a lid on it out of respect, until we then realised that everyone else in the pub was a galatasaroy fan and our screen was the only one showing the Arsenal game haha..

I am getting slightly nervous that so many people are assuming it is over already! They way I see it, we only have to lose one of our next three games and then have a wobble against city for it to be back to 2 points..

Do not forget we are at the stadium of light last game of the season, not an easy to place to go. It is very easy to slip into comfort zone, just as SAF said yesterday after the red card..

Berbatov will be sold in the summer. SAF/Berbatov did hold contract talks to keep him at United but Berbatov wouldn't sign a new contract because SAF couldn't guarantee him first team football with the likes of Hernandez and Welbeck keeping him on the bench.

I told you the other day, mercenaries will never fight to the end, because they don't deep down believe in the cause they are fighting for.

The likes of Silva, Aguero, Yaya, Tevez, Kompany know they are good enough to play for the biggest clubs in the world, but they allowed their talent to be bought.

Buying a group of expensive players, without their heart and soul, results in City's recent performances.

Nasri could have stayed at Arsenal or moved to United, but chose City, and that says all you need to know about this under-achieving money grabber!

They have one career, and these great players are wasting their opportunities.

I mean, how fabulously wealthy do you need to be?

United fans are currently singing "City's cracking up", but it's no wonder is it?

City play without heart and soul, and why?

I repeat, City's players have already won, everytime they look at their wage slip, and that is what it's all about!

I think we have a great squad of players with wayne rooney 3rd best player in the world, phil jones becoming a strong top player, valencia is amazing, young a great alround player, hernandez one of the best finishers in the world and everyone one else in the team playing well together.
But the only worry is the midfeild area and maybe the defence. Iker Muniain, luka modric or wesley snijder any other these midfeilders would be a great transfer for summer be the replacement of scholes leaving for good.
nathiael clyne is a great young fulll back which could be useful for the future for us if we can build players such as jones and smalling then why not this guy?
i dont beleive in spending alot of money on class players cause that never wins throphys look at barca they have players which have been at the team for years and look at them now .. experience and buliding players up from a young age is the way to win silverwear. down with the city up with the united

As an Arsenal fan hate to admit it but Balotelli has been superb for you lot during these last few matches, contender for player of the season perhaps, hes been truly influential... Jokes aside, just like to say i'm happy that you lot will win it instead of city. I have respect for United unlike city - you're a club with history like Arsenal. Anyway enjoy it now lads coz you'll be fighting it out with Arsenal next season, with Jack "mini scholes (who awesome today) Wilshere back and Podolski and Chamberlain etc etc it'll be back to the good old days of Arsenal v United. Anyway you're welcome for today, and goodluck for the rest of the season.

PS win it at the Ethidad, Arsenal won it at the Lane seasons back and believe me its so sweet to win the league at a rivals ground!
