Damn. Why is every1 biting on De Gea? He made small mistakes like all keepers do and he is young. The guy hasn't even been heavily tested in the preseason probably no more than 3 true shots per game. He is tall and agile as fck. Plenty of times he has stopped point blank shots and penalty kicks. United looked everywhere in the world for a keeper and putting him down isn't gonna make him better.

"BBC Radio 5 are reporting that a fee has been agreed between Inter Milan and Manchester United in the region of 33million for Wesley Sneijder. Sneijder is going to travel to Manchester tomorrow to discuss personal terms with the club. Not confirmed yet but is all over twitter. I am hoping the new is true and Manchester United can wrap up the deal before their season opener against West Brom.

In responce to the need to sign a keeper i believe lindergard is more than capable of being our number 1 however de gea needs time to settle before we condemn him after a couple of games.red mole

I'm pretty confident now of Sneijder coming, it's as though the Manchester united machine has been working all summer on this, think of all the top players current and ex who have been beating the drum plus his national manager. I think it will be a massive move for us, and he can help cleverly progress and be his number 2. Welcome to united mr sneijder

As a person who didn't think Sneijder would join United, it is getting to the point where it might actually happen. Next 3 weeks will be very very interesting.

Sorry for the copy and paste.

Inter Milan playmaker Wesley Sneijder has confirmed he would be interested in a move to Manchester United, and thinks unofficial talks may have taken place regarding the possible transfer.Since Paul Scholes announced his retirement at the end of the season, United have been linked with a host of replacements for the midfield talisman, with Luka Modric and Samir Nasri's name mentioned in certain quarters.Rumours have been abound all summer that Sneijder will make the move to Manchester, however, only now has the Dutchman conceded that he would be interested in a move. When asked if he would consider a move to United, Sneijder said: "Yes, but nobody has called officially. Maybe there have been unofficial talks."The situation is that I am an Inter Milan player, but there's a chance that I will leave. If something crosses my path, I have enough time to take a decision about it. It is down to the club. If a good bid comes in, they have to let me go. They don't want to lose me but there's a chance they will."The 27-year-old was in England training ahead of Holland's friendly with England, but with that now canceled, Sneijder is expected to travel back to Italy, and is refusing to rule our a return to English shores."I am leaving England, but if I get permission, I have to go back," he added.United favourite Paddy Crerand believes the signing of Sneidjer would make the Red Devils' Barclays Premier League title defence a 'sure thing'."There's all this talk about United buying Wesley Sneijder and Samir Nasri. I think that would put the icing on the cake if they could buy a top quality midfield player," he said."That's not to take anything away from the squad of players they've got, they're a tremendous squad."I've never been so sure of United winning a title [than I am now]. Two young kids that have come to the front, Tom Cleverley and Danny Welbeck, are great finds."

just thinking, if we did sign Sneijder what number would he be given? obviously you'd get better shirt sales if it was a certain number.. for example i was thinking he'd be given the number 7 shirt? owen can wear whatever, he's not going to get played much with welbeck, macheda and diouf all hanging around..

Wesley Sneijder number 7 shirt just sounds right...
would be nice to see the number 7 shirt at united taking the free kicks again since beckham and ronaldo have gone..

long time reader, very rare poster. Had posted long ago (sometime last season when everyone was having a go at SAF about replacing Anderson, Nani etc) that how SAF was looking to build, realistically, his last great team..and how there would be a major clearout over the summer after he has assessed players.

Looks like exactly that has happened, and here's hoping that the same continues and we let at least let go of Kuszczak, Gibson in addition to Obertan. Ideally, would also like at least Diouf and Macheda to leave (permanently or on loan, though Macheda just might develop into something special if he gets his head sorted).. and Berba if 18M or more is offered..

Also, am not sure about whether Sneijder would join us or not, but even if he does expect us to go in for at least a ball-playing defensive midfielder.. personally, M'Vila / Schweinsteiger / Martinez would be great.

Lastly, have never been able to make my mind up about Carrick in a defensive role - is he underrated coz we cant see the entire pitch all the time on TV, or is he rubbish?

(Really looking forward to this generation of kids.. pretty much 20 years after the Fledglings, SAF has another great team on his hands. Says just about everything about the man's genius as a manager)

Sneijder has reportedly dropped his biggest hint yet that a move to Manchesuter United will be completed soon. When asked by reporters if he would like to come to Old Trafford, Sneijder responded by saying: "Yes, but nobody has called officially. Maybe there have been unofficial talks."

Add to this the recent comments by Van Der Vaart and I think we can all expect to see an unveiling in the next couple of weeks.

Personally, I think United can and will win the EPL without this major addition. With it, we are set for a third CL final in a row.

Reading alot today about WS signing. Just to let you guys know I spoke with Denis Irwin saturday night in Co Sligo EIRE at a testimonial was over there for and asked him about targets. He said we do want an AM and he believes Modric would be best suited to us and there is an interest in him. knows NOTHING about Sneider so maybe this is all b*llocks about WS like Fergie said ??

Obertan deal to Newcastle complete which free's up some more money from the wage bill. Does anybody know if United have installed any buy back agreement into the deal? I know he never really shone at United but there is definatley some ability in Obertan, and at 22 he's still got plenty of time to develop and he could definatley be a handfull on his day, especially if he learns to use the ball better.

So Giggsy believes there could be a big signing in at the end of the week. Sneijder & Nasri are both looking like being sorted very soon. Fingers crossed one of them end up at OT.

As a person who thought that Sneijder wouldn't come but gladly be accepted to our club, it seems as if there is a strongest of chances he will come. United might also ask his experience to help the club.

Is RGx11 Ryan Giggs' official Twitter account? Because if it is then he has said that he is excited about the coming week with regards to a big signing (as mentioned below). Sneijder? Or someone else?

I watched the reserve game earlier, Pogba and Morrison were the unsurprising stand out players. I think they should be sent out on short loans to gain better experience for the future.
