Right i'm gonna say it again after seeing more rumours of Alba joining us.
The man for us is Baines, a good defender with a brilliant cross and great dead ball player.
He knows the EPL and because of Everton's problems we could get a good deal for him, maybe offer them Gibson, Owen, Evans, Diouf amongst others.
While we are there get Rodwell, Barkley, Fellaini.

With the unrest at Barca between Messi and Villa could it be likely that Barca offload Villa? He's not really that needed there when they have Pedro and Sanchez as well as Iniesta and Fabregas who can all do a job there.

We were interested in him before he went to Barca - could Fergie pull out a rabbit from the sack and sign him in Summer?

Personally I can see us brining in Benatia and Asamoah in January - both reasonably priced, solid but still with potential. They aren't 'wonderkids' and won't get us involved in a bidding war. Would Udinese let both go? Perhaps, I hope so, they'd be class.

Also i'd like to see one of Ocampos or Vadillo - Vadillo probably has had the more exposure having played in La Liga against the likes of Real Madrid (allbeit he got injured). But he has that sparkle which would be really good to see in the squad. None of the players i mentioned are overly priced and they wouldn't break the bank. Simply, they would do a job, a good job, and wouldn't hold back our youngsters who are looking oh so promising.

If Vadillo wasn't on the cards then Break Shea could also be an option as being a natural left footer - although this is something Asamoah could do as well.

Do you guys agree? What are your thoughts if not?

Andreas Pereria will sign for United in January. He is 15 years of age and plays for PSV. He is regarded as one of the most talented youngsters in the world.

Don't know much about this lad.

I think were four players off being unstoppable. the areas we need are cb, lb, cm and cf.
When you look at these areas, you see we have personel, but not the right players. With cb i have no doubt smalling and jones will be United greats, but at the moment with have ferdinand, who is sadly past it, Vidic is excellent, but time is not on his side. I could say we should go out and buy chellini, but i dont think we need him. I think sommeone to challenge for the spot and be a utility player with smalling and jones, would be Gary Cahill, cheap, Good Defender, Happy to sit on the bench if contributing to trophies.
Lb i belive a good reliable player is needed someone like Irwin to provide for the team, rather worrying about their own needs. Baines would be good, steady, reliable, set piece taker. Fabio can then challenge for the spot and when on form either can play. Evra has not been the same since the 2009 champs final.
The main position to fill cm. i know will all have our prefrences and it is impossible to see who we will get, if anybody. Personally the only player we need to play alongside cleverly, morrison, pogba is javi martinez. Young, Versitile, great player also the main thing is he is spainish. Every team should have a spainish midfielder.
Finally striker, again we have bodies but just not the world beaters, players like berba, macheda, diouf, owen are not the game winners we need. I think we should promote will keane and get llorente from bilbao. Expensive but good player.
What do we all think.

Lads, just wondering if there is any interest in Toni Kroos from Munich? Quality young player, especially on Football Manager!
But he does seem a class act! I know it's difficult to get Munich to sell their players but is he someone we would consider?

if top players want madrid or barce or citys cash have we now got to accept that we cant compete for top players.
are we now behind the likes of malaga and PSG as well is there anyone else out there other than fergy who can keep us competitive with out being able to attract the top stars.
now i can understand players choosing the likes of barce or madrid for various reasons but if fergy was to target a player i really think we should be able to compete if it becomes a bidding war.
take the sneijder deal if was down to wages could we not afford his demands or did we decide not to pay them and who made that decision are we back to the 90s when top players are outside our wage structure. remember when kean stuck to his guns and broke uniteds wage ceiling fully backed by fergy.
now lets forget sneijder but if a top class player becomes available he will expect big wages have we got to the point were we dont look at signing the top players but concentrate on developing players a bit like arsenal.
will this work once fergy has gone .
could we start losing the likes of pogba if city psg etc offer him big money that we are not prepared to pay.

So Ronaldo might play in the testimonal again? Does anyone think that this could make him want to come back? Meeting with his old friends, playing at Old Trafford. If we can make it as passionate and appealing as we can then I think he might come back. Fergie wants to make sure power isn't restled away from us and resigning Ronaldo would be a kick in the teeth for City and the biggest boost possible for us.

I think our teams problems would be far less with Cristiano at the helm.

I'd play 4-4-1-1 De Gea, Rafael, Smalling, Vidic, Fabio/Evra, Nani, Cleverley, Fletcher (for now), Young, Rooney, Ronaldo.

Thoughts? Try not to slag this off too much, it does make sense.

im a united fan and this is what i see happening in the next few years,1) mancity will dominate for 2/3 years like chelsea did with mourinho and there money then fergies matured team of rooney ronaldo evra vidic vandersar win it bak hopefully that will be our jones smalling degea cleverly welbeck and it will just be like the usual renewing of the team , or hopefully not 2) we become a team like arsenal where big players dont wna come to us and were left with a lot of young good players like pogba morrison fryers cole keanes and it will be hard to keep them at united. what do use guys think? also another point i wnna make is playin rooney in mid, im totally against this, yes rooney in mid is byfar are most creative cm but that dusnt mean hes great at mid it just means are cm's are not top quality, plus i think were losin a striker who playin upfront alone in one season scored 34 goals and was injured for a month and ahalf so i think wed be losin a better striker for a less greater mid, why cant rooney hav a quality cm supporting him instead of him tryin to force it for the team and lets be honest as well as chicha is great goal scorer the boy cant run ten yards with the ball. I would love to see pogba play i believe hes much better than ando gibson fletch and carrick and i hate they way were not givin him a chance like other teams throw there young players in the deep, ross barley plays 45 mins against united while pogba play 30 against aldershot anyways what do use guys think?

i think utd fans should be a little bit more quiet , when talking about young henderson and carroll , they are only young guys still learning their trade , and they will get better , they just need more games to impove , for gods stake i still hear on this page give de gea time he, will learn , and you even still hope anderson will maybe turn into a brazlian or something. lpool have been unlucky in games , we will improve and we are a team going forward,
now it has come to my attention that the green eyed monster has raised its ugly head in most of you, because anyone that says your neighbours are a very good team , and have the best ,strongest squad gets abuse , and it just seems to send you all in a rage for just telling the truth , so from now on i will only refer to them as the unmentionables , as i dont like to see grown men boo - hooing too much ,and getting on like techy kids who get their sweets took off them, face facts utd fans you are not the top dogs anymore , hell you have even lost your bark , but hey you have had a good innings you cant complain , telling the truth as always-................lfc

Just gonna put it out there, if City do indeed bid for and buy Martinez. We should go for Sissoko and another midfielder. Sissoko would be quite cheap.

well i for one hope we do sign rodwell. Good player playing in a bad team. Been held back last couple of years. Think he'd come in an do a very good job. Him in a midfield three with cleverly and one of carrick, fletcher, or anderson depending on the opposition could be effective. I think there's a lot of snobbery cos he's not a flash foreign name or as exotic as some.

Am I the only person who would rather be proud of the club than win silverware? At the moment we have the best of both worlds, and it is fantastic, and we are fortunate to support United because of it's wonderful history and success, having some of the best players to grace the game wear the shirt, and having the greatest manager of all time at the helm for 25 years. But that is the reason I support the club, and I will carry on supporting the club even if we hit a trophy drought. Because:
I would rather have Hernandez than someone like Suarez, or Aguero, or whatever, because Hernandez seems like a decent, honest human being.
And I'd rather keep looking to homegrown or unknown talent than cough up big money for mercenaries.
And I'd rather have Solskjaer manage the club for 5 years trophiless than appoint Mourinho when Fergie retires.

I keep reading responses like ''the modern game is about money now, if we don't keep up we can forget the title'' or ''fergie has lost the plot, city are gona overtake us'' blah blah blah moan moan moan. We are Manchester United. That is all.

I am planning on making a £100m bid for liverpools 5 european cups, and a cheeky £50m for Andy Carroll, as he is clearly better than our off form rooney, Also i am planning on retiring on friday afternoon as i wish to enjoy watching Come Dine With Me on a saturday afternoon instead of managing a team with such weak supporters. Cheerio!

Mates. People are posting about Javi Martinez. City made ao enquire for a good player that is and will attract more interest from the Big clubs in Europe.

Stop crying that they're after of all our targets, nobody is sure if United ever made ao enquire before or not, its only the press talking about it.

Most of the players we may want will attract interest from other clubs we must be ready for the bidding war. We made the same thing with CR7 when Wenger tried to get him and we were efficient. The same will happen from now, if we don't have the power to fight with big sharks(money), avoid the war, go first and undercover, simple.

We're not the only ones watching the likes of Gotze, M'villa, Martinez, Alba, M Sissoko, Barkley, Kagawa and many others, so it means that If we want of the them, I'll have to fight for them, otherwise we wont get it, simple.

Ozil- if UTD was scouting him before the World cup y we didn't go that time? We don't have the power to fight against Madrid or Barcelona unless the player really wants to play for us.
The same happened with Alexis Sanchez.
Whe comes to good players we take 2-3 years scouting and decide to buy. But players like Bebe, Tozic, Obertan, Djemba-Djemba and others didn't took long to buy them and all of them FLOPS.

We don't have any player that came from the academy in the past 5-7 years in the first team right now, meaning that we haven't been successfull and the only thing we can do is keep buying and done.

It may only be an enquiry from City, but a move for Martinez in January makes a lot of sense for them. Javi plays in midfield and defence when needed. City lose Kolo and Yaya to the Africa Cup of Nations soon. It's possible they'd buy him as cover for the Toure's until they return, and then he could take the place of Barry in the first team? This is all hypothetical at the moment as it's just an enquiry, but still, if City are genuinely interested, they won't be beaten in a bidding war. But considering the players that SAF has looked at over the last two years for the midfield spot -- Ozil, Gotze, Sneijder, Nasri, Thiago -- I doubt Martinez is the type of player United are after at the moment. It seems SAF is after a player who can play with or fill in for Rooney.

Suprise suprise, an artical comes up that we are interested in Javi Martinez and the next thing we know Balague is saying that he's been told that City have made an inquiry for him. I guess City can afford to pay huge wages as they don't have any scouts working for them, they just listen to who were interested in and then go out to sign them with their sugar daddies money. This is why we never know who united are signing and why we won't go after any "big name" signings as City will get wind of it and make it a bidding war. This is how they intend to over take us by buying up all our targets and trying to weaken us rather than looking to improve themselves(although signing our targets has significantly improved them). They are constantly trying to out do us as they know they are in our shadow. Of course this has ramifications on us. I highly doubt we'll sign anyone who is a "big name" as City will just get involved and even if we win we will have to pay significantly more than the players worth and in the end is that winning? If we got Gotze for 60m due to a bidding war would you say we won? cus i wouldn't, I'd say we over spent which we can't afford to do. I think the only signings we'll make now will be total suprises and unheared of gems and youngsters(15/16yo) as we can conduct these transfers without City getting wind of them.
I know some of you may be abit down hearted by this but i think in the long run it could be benifical. Remember Ronaldo, Hernandez, Vidic and Smalling were all little known gems bought for reasonable prices and they have been some of our best sucesses in the transfer market in recent years.
