Just on sky news that utd have turned down £45m + mina+ gomes from Barcelona for Mr pogba.

Good. Why would we swap one of the best midfielders in the world for yet more mediocre players?

45, umtiti and rakitic.

yes that was the report yesterday afternoon in a few tabloids .2 squad players from Barcelona plus not enough money to buy Toby/ Boateng (thank god) for Paul Pogba . whose agent said when we signed hm was a 150 mill player.

Dembele got to be in the mix if that's the next club for PP.

Whats the point having Pogba if he turns up once every 4 games for us. Let him go I'm sure Silva would have a similar turn up rate anyway.

Question for 002 if around, appreciate the sharkopod and I see boateng wasn't mentioned. Are we looking at him now or is it a case of sly sports bull again? Apologies if dealt with.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - Perhaps an alternative to the preferred choice.}

06 Aug 2018 17:26:42
Worrying signs mate. according to ed001 he overrated and had issues with Bayern board due to somethings to do with jay z.

Thanks 002. Much appreciated.

Player is on a sharp decline. Hasn’t put in the effort over the last few seasons, too many off field distractions, too concerned with celebrity lifestyle. Would clash with Jose immediately. Think his signing would be an indication of desperation to make a signing before th deadline.

Agree4 Disagree0

06 Aug 2018 19:36:20
cant think of a worse choice than Boateng of all the options that we seem to be linked with.

Agree2 Disagree0

06 Aug 2018 19:41:25
He is the type of player we will target and most probably sign. Someone who wants a big pay day and couldn't give a monkeys about the club who gives it him. We're becoming a grave yard for mercenaries and their bank accounts. Don't see why we need a cb, we're riddled in other areas that need addressing in my opinion.

Agree3 Disagree2

06 Aug 2018 19:42:47
Agreed danny it smacks of desperation didn't fancy him when he was at city haven't fancied him at bayern and most certainly don't fancy him here.

Literally no better than any of our defenders imo.

Boeteng was shocking at the world cup as well. I'd stay clear of him. I heard SS staying we have 5 centre backs on the list but we have only identified 4. Like I said varane would be a dream, but also Godin is a good shout if we can get him.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Aug 2018 21:08:28
I so hope these Boateng reports are BS, final nail in the coffin if we sign him.

His form over the last 12-18 months has fell off a cliff. Before that he was one of the best around. If he plays how he has in the past he s head and shoulders above any of our defenders. However, Bayern know when to get rid of a player. We've been caught out by it in the past and it's tough to see that this will be different.

Still prefer him to Maguire though 😂😂.

Hi Ed,
Any truth in what I am reading on SSN app? Pogba to Juve in a cash plus Pjanic deal?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what you have read but Juventus did speak with Mino and they would need to move on a couple of players to raise funds, but MU has so far resisted exchanges this summer. Pjanic has been the subject of discussions with another side but it will be an offer from Barcelona that Mino is discussing with MU today. Juventus are an option.}

06 Aug 2018 14:03:32
Many thanks for your reply mate. Appreciated.

06 Aug 2018 14:07:28
If its the same report (s) I've seen today as the Pogba speculation goes in to overdrive is that Barcelona would be offering Gomes and Yerri Mina in the deal which is very uninspiring.

A Pjanic + Sandro might soften the blow -not as easy as that of course .

Agree5 Disagree1

06 Aug 2018 14:17:44
Hi ed i know you don't like to talk numbers so i'll try keep the question more simple, do you know if the offer from Barcelona cash only or a cash plus player deal? i'd imagine from other bits and pieces you've said Barcelona would be looking to get some cash off the deal so may include players possibly dembele hopefully not yerry mina.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - MU have resisted all offers involving other players this summer.}

06 Aug 2018 14:26:55
Ed002 do you know if the offer from Barcelona is money only or are they looking to offer a player+cash deal? Interested to see if MU are willing to change their policy on exchanges considering they have a chance to offload Pogba which they have been looking to do all summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - MU has resisted all exchanges so far.}

06 Aug 2018 14:35:45
Hi Ed, do you think united will continue to resist exchanges in this transfer window or could anything change that and make us more open to this type of deal.
Thanks.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Probably.}

06 Aug 2018 14:53:01
Ok ed thanks maybe it's time the club looked at that stance might make the changes we are looking to make a little easier, looks like we could be very busy over the next few days with rojo, smalling, darmian, pogba, and martial all potentially leaving plus players brought in I think we need a LB RW and CB if as definates, if pogba goes I'd look for a CM to replace him, we could also do with a RB and a back up striker but with dalot coming in this isn't as urgent.

06 Aug 2018 14:55:41
Lol I was nearly there but you're just too good. Thanks Ed.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Aug 2018 15:33:55
Unless it’s Messi or Pique, Barcelona need cash only for us. It’s Juve who have some players we could do with. Pjanic aNd Sandro for starters!

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Aug 2018 15:49:43
I can understand the clubs position to an extent. If we're going to do swapsies then it should be for players ae want who will improve us not players the other club can't rid of or aren't as good as we have and won't improve us. Gomes and Mina?

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Aug 2018 15:43:36
Yeah would take the swap of pjanic and Sandro in a heartbeat too. Hard to see juve letting 2 go?

06 Aug 2018 15:44:04
Although at the same time it seems they may need to.

Straight swap for Messi and I'll drive him to Barcelona myself!

06 Aug 2018 15:12:39
Thanks Ed, follow up question if I may - do you know why they or any club would resist those kind of deals?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Because they want specific players.}

06 Aug 2018 15:30:08
Hi ed002.
You have mentiomd United's reluctance to use players in part exchange. It appears common place in european league's.
Why do united choose to avoid this do you know? Is it just a plain strategic decision or is their increased financial and contractial issues when players get involved as part exchange?
To me it makes sense if all parties are happy with it.

06 Aug 2018 16:24:00
Ed002 thanks for the replies above. already the sharkapod was much informative thanks! Hopefully the deal is finalized with Barcelona and the club could look for a replacement before Thursday. we can only dream.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Aug 2018 11:48:29
Very Sad to hear this. The first one needed to show the door was Jose. not Pogba.
If club is thinking to make Jose happy by selling Pogba and expect a positive football. than they are dreaming.
I will pray. it doesn't go through.

06 Aug 2018 09:00:05
Seems like we are being linked with Jerome Boetang now. I don't remember Ed002 mentioning him in the sharkapod, can someone confirm?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

06 Aug 2018 09:10:10
He didn't mention him I don't think. He has been linked with arsenal and psg I think so could just be throwing our name in to up the price. I hope we actually aren't in for him.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Aug 2018 09:37:25
Oh ok, thanks Mort! Leicester manager has clearly stated McGuire is not leaving and with reports saying toffees have agreed a 28m deal for yery mina, it could be Toby or bust. Or may be the reports are a load of bull.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - Boateng is unwanted by Bayern and they are looking to get him and Jay-Z out the door. The link is because you have Lukaku who is also represented by Jay-Z. Not footballing wise, off field stuff. Bayern think he is much more interested in being a star than being a player. To be fair, he has been abysmal the last couple of seasons and worn out their patience, and they will literally sell him to anyone who will take him. They just want rid.}

06 Aug 2018 10:09:25
Thanks for the info Ed. Just googled it seems he wouldn't be much help for our defense with all his distractions. No wonder no club is ready to have him. Hope we are not that much desperate.

Seems Liverpool have done a good bit of business this window. You must be excited for the start of the new season not likewise for many of us here. Cheers! (Y)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I am not sure he would be much help anyway, never understood why he is so highly rated personally.

It does look a good season. I am excited to see Bielsa in English football as well at last. This season looks the most exciting that I can remember.}

06 Aug 2018 10:23:44
No idea why anyone who’d want Boateng. Makes Smalling looks competent.
