We've been linked with so many centre backs in the last week it's unreal!

Since every CB under the sun is being linked with us, I'm going to hazard a guess that our new CB who will start against Leicester on Friday will be David May. That seemed as likely at the start of the summer as Kurt Zouma. David May works for MUTV so we know it's achievable by the deadline. Who knows we might even get that winger we all want if he brings Bojan Djordjic with him?

Zouma is not a bad player. I think he is better than rojo and Jones. But he is not the world class centre back we need. Would rather fork out on a left back or right winger. I wonder who were get linked with 2mo.

So Sanchez is unhappy with the summers recruitment so far.

Players don’t want to go to Utd, Utd players don’t want to be here, Jose doesn’t like being here,
Glazers are going to have to dig deep to get out of this mess they’ve made,
3rd season for Jose, I’m normally upbeat on the Jose revolution at Utd, but for the 1st time since Fergie first came from Aberdeen, I’m genuinely worried where we’re going, I hope I’m wrong.

It's starting to get really worrying now if we end up with boateng were in real trouble.
the guys more injury prone than any of our defenders
I can see this going only one way and that's looking for a new manager come Xmas.

Lots of winnable games at the beginning of our fixture list. A few good results and the mood will soon change.

Hi all,
Thanks to the Eds as always.
Reading some of this really is depressing, some of our fans are the worst around. It very much is a ‘it is what it is’ situation and as fans we need to try and be much more positive. Has everyone forgotten Leicester? Anything is possible and until 10-15 games have passed this season none of us really know anything. It most certainly isn’t a case of ‘worried where we’re going’, try and enjoy life a bit more. It’s too short and if you don’t enjoy supporting the side, support someone else.
Much love.

What an arrogant statement to make. Just because some fans don’t like what’s happening with our club and voice their opinion on here it doesn’t make us the worst around or plastic fans.

I’ve been a season ticket holder some 1982 and car a few seasons when I was playing myself or away in the military I don’t miss many games Home or away. I think I’m a pretty loyal and patient fan and don’t have any entitlement to success but I do believe in doing things the right way.

Bring through youth and it’s happened since before Fergie, and most of all trying to play attacking football.

I don’t always demand shiny new players, in fact I think bar one of two positions we have a really good squad.

The issue is the manager, the owners have given him huge amounts of money to spend and frankly he hasn’t spent wisely or has spent it on players I presume after scouting them and tries to change the way they play. Mkhitaryen, pogba, Sanchez didn’t play the way he wants them to at their previous clubs. If I were Woodward I’d be seriously doubting whether to give him even more money to waste on 29 year olds with little sell on value when there’s other clubs buying better, developing better or shock horror merely getting the most out of the players they have.

Worst of all is his constant undermining of players confidence and abilities with his barbs and criticisms in the press. That’s not how you manage any employee in any business and it’s ceetainkg not how you manage multimillionaire professional sportsmen.

The man is outdated and becoming increasingly narcissistic. That’s my opinion and one that I’m entitled too. T might not make everyone agree with me but it also doesn’t mean I’m totally wrong either. But to tarnish everyone that doesn’t share the same view as being somewhat less of a fan for daring to disapprove of the manager is a disgrace.

I spend a huge amount of money following united and I’ve already given my ticket away for fridays game. For once united will Not be my priority this season and that’s because his style of football and his terrible attitude have turned me off. I’m saddened that it’s come to this but it does not make me a second rate fan. I just don’t see why I should spend my leisure time watching outdated boring football.

I think Giggsy doesn't realise that other people have opinions too? I live in France now so don't get to OT now, so its TV for me. which is great as I can turn Joses borathon off when it gets too much for me. Our club is a mess!

It’s utterly ridiculous. It’s an embarrassment. I’m not sure what some people prioritise! Football or transfers. It’s all becoming so artificial, 24hours and Sky will show the “who spent the most” league table so we can all whinge relentlessly about Woodward, the Glazers or Jose depending on your toxic point of view.

Ed i know pogba has been spoken about a lot before but seems like something could be happening with Barcelona, if we can find a replacement before the window closes. Do you see us signing a player then selling pogba after the English deadline? seen a couple of reports linking us with savic. i understand if there is nothing new any information is appreciated.

{Ed002's Note - The situation remains as I have explained.}

Almost certain we won’t sign anyone now. If we sold Pogba after the deadline too, then goodness, we’d be even more screwed than we already are. Awful transfer window.

ed has said there is plenty of time left, both ed 001 and 002 seem confident we will sign someone I've no reason to doubt them. i'm hopeful on alderweireld still.

The club has been backed into a corner. We have a player who we have tried to sell all summer, a player who doesn't want to be at our club anymore.

Yet no one has bid until now, so we are left with 36 hours before the transfer window closes. And we are to sort out a massive deal for a player leaving the club while also finding a replacement. We have to do this while everyone side outside of EPL has no time pressure as they still have weeks to go before their deadline.

Combine this with another 2-3 players who are unhappy and want to leave, plus the need to sign at least a couple more without replacing any potential exits leaves us with a mountain to climb or face being left in a bit of a mess.

Now for once I do feel a little sympathy for Jose, he clearly wanted more done and soon so the players could bed in.
However, the fact both Pogba and Martial two of our few potential world class players wants to leave are in a large part down to him and his handling of them.

So he certainly hasn't helped himself. I don't know what goes on behind closed doors, but publicly he has been picking fights with everyone, including players like Valencia who he has recently made captain. This surely can't be helping to create a good working environment.

Currently we have 3-5 players who want to leave the club, rats leaving a sinking ship comes to mind.

This pre-season has been very similar to the one before Jose's Chelsea meltdown.

Preseason has felt aimless like a boat without a rudder just drifting, at the mercy of the tides.

A captain who cared about the ship would be doing all he can to fix the rudder and give the boat a sense of direction. However, Jose just seems intent on smashing up the life rafts and blaming everyone else.

This season will end in heartbreak for many United fans. When it does it is vital that we don't start in fighting and blaming either the "Jose in" or the "Jose out" fans and we get behind the new manager. The club needs a man in our clubs own image. Someone who knows what it is to represent our club, someone who knows what it mean to our fans and who knows what is expected of them. First comes youth and offensive football, then comes winning titles. You build from the bottom not the top.

Doesn't seem like there will be nearly enough time to sell Pogba and sign an adequate replacement before the window closes. We will just have to accept one of our star players doesn't want to be there this year.

All we seem concerned about now . Or should I say all Ed Peckerwood is bothered about is how many different sponsors we can sew onto our shirts.
Terrible transfer window . Nothing to come again this year . Apart from a new manager maybe.
Signs are ominous with Jose's rant's and negative attitude.
But if jose does go . Then surely Woodward should throw himself on his sword also.
Never mind the Jose out campaign. We should have a bring back David Gill campaign. Here's to a long hard season.

After tomorrows deadline we still have 3 weeks of wondering if any of pogba, martial + others will be sold; The club doesn't have to sell players on so we haven't been held to ransom at this time and although we ain't moved that far forward we haven't gone back from last season as we have replaced carrick with Fred. It isn't ideal but fingers crossed there is something in the pipeline which the eds have indicated there could be.

Shappy

The Captain of any ship would only take the boat in the direction set by the owners of the ship. We should look above the manager and judge what direction the ship is being directed in. Looks like a trip round the Baltic rather than a luxury Caribbean cruise.
