Well, That's that then . Everton have come up on the rails and got Mina and got Gomes on loan just to rub it in.
I've a strong feeling Jose may pack his bags sooner than thought, The Glaziers and Peckerwood have shafted him big time .
But it's us the fan's who gave been shafted the deepest, Think Jose new months ago that the transfer pot was not what was promised.
I really hope he goes for his own sanity. I hope we finish with naff all again, Then hopefully Peckerwood will soon follow.
54 years a red, never doubted the team ever, never wished them bad luck and losses, But enough is enough we are supposed to be a footballing team, What we have become now is a laughing stock and a commercial whore.

"Commercial whore"
Well put, I completely agree.

Long time reader, first time poster. Eds do a great job with the site.

I might be reading too much into it, but are the board trying to manage Jose out?
We've spent huge sums since Fergie left and not always in the right place. Pogba, Martial and Shaw so far staying which, if we believe the media, is against Jose wishes. Perhaps hoping next manager will get the best out of them?
Style of play against traditions and current trends/ fan ideals.

{Ed002's Note - I have answered regarding this whole subject since the fans fouled all of the club's plans up and he joined.}

I totally agree Jose's been well and truly shafted off the board so he should take the hint and walk so we can get someone in to get us playing the man utd way.
I would go for Brendan Rodgers I know he managed liverpool but he would be a breath of fresh air to our club I've no doubt he could get much more out of our squad than jose would.
I'm expecting a lot of backlash for this šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ but I think. it would be a good shout.

Ed002, sorry to ask but where is the info on what you mentioned above regarding Jose and the clubs plans and the fans etc.

Is it searchable or can someone point me in the right direction please.

{Ed002's Note - I have explained pepeatedly since the day he signed - read the posts or search.}

09 Aug 2018 20:42:31
Fact is Allegri was lined up, we spoke, LVG got the boot and now we have jose who has won 3 trophies, improves our stats and rightfully recognised we needed the correct positions strengthening, maybe Jose is the right man and heā€™s the man weā€™ve got, he was rightfully frustrated at the transfer window, money has been spent but it was always going to take a lot of money and a big overhaul to undo the Moyes/ LVG eras. He may not play how we all want? He doesnā€™t how I want but I am fully behind him and the squad we have cz I think there is more to come from this current crop.

I want rid of Mourinho probably more than any fan I know. Iā€™m also sick of woodward seeming only interested in commercial deals and I think we need someone else dealing with transfers. But wishing bad on the club in the hope we get rid of them? I donā€™t think thatā€™s something any true supporter would ever do.

Good article this morning on the BBC website about why we didn't sign our targeted CB.
If the main defensive target was Varne and we couldn't get him, what is the point in signing anyone for the sake of signing someone, for me I would be happy to go with Bailly and Jones as the defensive partnership for the year.

we have a good squad, Woodward has facilitated the captures of Sanchez, Di Maria, Pogba and others so we can hardly say he can't get big players in. Mourinhos attitude is terrible but he has won 3 trophies.

what baffles me is that we need defensive reinforcements and we let Tuanzebe and TFM leave on loan when they had a good pre season and we need them. we have defensive injuries and frailties and we should have trusted in them two!

10 Aug 2018 08:54:40
Letā€™s not right Man Utd of just yet letā€™s see how they get on against the foxes later and then we can see more clearly what we have to work on clearly we have a defensive problem but our overall team is strong letā€™s hope moaning Mourinho cheers up and gets behind his players like he did early Chelsea days.

Sailor, clean your ears out. We were offered the tea lady Sally on a loan deal. Woodward is considering as she marketed along with our new bootlace sponsor who are PG Tips.

Do you still expect a CB and RW to come in Ed001, even this late in the window? Remember you saying RW is a priority position a few days ago, hopeful.

{Ed001's Note - no mate, I think it is finished now but you never know, deals can be done quickly if the selling club needs to sell.}

09 Aug 2018 10:24:42
Most likely a CB Ed? Reports saying Spurs want player + cash for Alderweireld, get him in and i'll be a lot more excited for the season.

{Ed001's Note - it is hard to say as it is dependant on other teams and moves going through.}

If they are sellling Kurzawa it is probably because they are confident in getting Sandro.

Scholes,

This just goes to show that itā€™s all about shiny new signings for some people, if we donā€™t sign anyone then so be it, Iā€™m still excited for the new season, one player isnā€™t going TJ chabge that and we would probably just get him cheap in January anyway, thatā€™s only 4 months away.

Gds we've all been pointing out the weaknesses in this team for at least 2 seasons. I think its right to assume most of us expected those to be sorted out thus summer. Jose has also pointed out said weaknesses and says he asked for 5 players to address them. He got 1 and 1 for the future. Not really adequate is it.

Agree8 Disagree3

09 Aug 2018 10:45:47
Youā€™re right GDS2, one player wouldnā€™t change anything. Just like if we hadnā€™t signed RVP we still would have won the league, absolute toff mate.

Agree8 Disagree1

09 Aug 2018 10:54:23
GDS2 - I agree some people want signings for signings sake. But do you think we have done anything like enough to close the gap on City with our pre-season?

Any honest Utd fan will not be confident that we are now 19 points better, or City are 19 points worse (or a mix)? If anything the gap looks like widening and that is without factoring in the other competition. We were very fortunate to amass the points tally we did last season, now we have an even grumpier manager (deals not happened), grumpier squad if all the interview/ press are to be believed and no new brainwave with the way we play if friendly tactics are anything to go by. We had our luck last season if you ask me, this season we are in for a Moyes like season if we aren't careful results wise and more of the same performance wise.

Signings were essential this summer, more so than ever. Yet we have labored again, just like we do on the pitch.

Utd should be fighting for titles, not happy to just take part.

Agree13 Disagree4

09 Aug 2018 11:03:14
Of course it is GDS, not like we actually NEED players to improve the team, probably moaning about the lack of width last season. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø.

09 Aug 2018 11:10:54
MPez,

I never said one player wouldn't make us better, just that I am still excited for the new season, am I not allowed to be because we might not win the league?

Agree2 Disagree2

09 Aug 2018 11:17:15
Beast, the majority of those nineteen points were negative results against the poorest teams in the league, get it right against those teams and the gap and the seemingly unbridgeable chasm that some fans allude to doesn't seem that great. City had a great season last year and that is undeniable but the rest of the chasers blew hot and cold and couldn't put a run together to make the league semi interesting.
