Sorry if you already covered it Ed02 but I cannot find it.

Is there genuine interest in Fred or is it just paper talk?

BIG V

{Ed002's Note - Fred (CM) Will be available. Interest from Fulham but Roma interest gone. Agent trying to get interest from the Middle East.

18 Jun 2023 12:15:24
Axel Disasi's agents have apparently been talking to John Murtogh.

According for Fabrizio.

Anyone know much about him?

BIG V

{Ed002's Note - Axel Disasi (CB) West Ham and Spurs had a declared interest but after adding Aguerd in the summer would have ended that and Spurs took Lenglet on loan. Southamption interest will have gone. After the sale of BB Monaco will probably not be open to a sale, even though they have an obligation to buy another CB. Wildcards will be Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City but none have declared an interest at this time.}

1.) 18 Jun 2023 19:47:24
Todibo would be a far better option.
Disasi has a similar turning circle to Maguire.
Todibo (the rumoured alternative) is very similar to, and cheaper than, Timber.

My friends in America seem to think the clubs situation will become clearer at the end of the season.

They say any news before that is premature regardless of what is said.

Also say that Bruno fernandes is considering his future with the club, The club has asked him to give one more year after this season.

As always how true and reliable thus is i cannot say, but they are never to far off.

BIG V

1.) 17 May 2023 14:14:48
While Bruno is our best player, and we are poorer without him, if he wants to move then we shouldn't stand in his way.

2.) 17 May 2023 14:41:23
Never heard any club being linked with Bruno.

{Ed077's Note - maybe he's not good enough ;-P}

3.) 17 May 2023 14:57:21
Haha Ed, he is pretty good though.

4.) 17 May 2023 18:05:40
There has been rumours over the last 6 months of Bruno moving on as Ten Hags preferred formation is a 433 which Bruno doesn't ideally suit.

5.) 17 May 2023 20:58:10
Bruno is our most influential player by a country mile and good enough to play for any of the top top teams. If he decided to move there will be a ton of suitors.

6.) 17 May 2023 21:57:35
We can't lose bruno, he's our best player by a mile and has to be captain next season. i'm sure we would want big money which nobody will want to pay anyway, and he has 3 years on his contract so we're in a good position.

7.) 17 May 2023 23:14:47
Playing a but of devils advocate here.

I don't doubt he is the best player but does he suit what the manager is trying to achieve, for that matter does Rashford?

Liverpool fams were similarly unhappy with losinf Courtinho, but does Bruno really suit Tem Hags endgame? I strongly suspect that he does not and neither dies Rashy.

8.) 18 May 2023 08:03:06
I said before the season started that I wondered whether Bruno would be part of EtH's long term plans. As a player who will always try and force the more creative (and riskier) pass which often leads to a loss of possession, I wondered how that would fit into EtH's more controlled, possession based style of play.

I felt that to get the best out of Bruno you needed to play him as a No.10 or even second striker, giving him freedom to wander and find the space. Which goes against the more team oriented approach from EtH.

For those reasons I said 7 months ago that ultimately Bruno could be sacrificed in a similar way to Coutinho at Liverpool. Selling the team's best (most individualistic) player for the long term benefit of the team.

Maybe that will still happen, yet from what I have seen this season EtH seems very happy with Bruno, played him more than any other outfield player, made him captain, always speaks glowingly about him.

He has also on a few occasions played Bruno much deeper and has even managed to get man of the match performances out of Bruno when playing deeper in midfield.

I think Bruno could be very well suited to playing the No.8 role that EtH tends to use in his team's. He's very good at progressing the ball quickly, is a tenacious and willing presser out of possession, and has excellent shooting ability to be that late arriving midfielder into the box.

9.) 18 May 2023 09:39:41
Big V, just for fun, I looked up your previos posts. Not sure your track record is as strong as you think it is mate.

10.) 18 May 2023 10:00:35
Shappy

Watch the ajax games when ETH was there and they were very brave with trying passes and gave the ball away frequently but their counter press won it back quite quickly. Eth is very different with Van Gaal style of possession.

Bruno influences games more than Rashford if you look at his contribution in terms of assists and goals and just what he does and unlocks things. He is a workhorse and doubt anyone comes even close to him in world football in terms of his minutes and role he is being asked to play.

Before people bring up Rashfords goals, he is suppose to score given where he is playing. Hard to score 15 goals playing a 6 or an 8.

If he actually wanted to go, Psg, Real, Bayern and top tier pl teams will line up for someone like him. Given what players are going for he 100 mill plus player imo.

Watched real vs city last night and valverde, kroos and modric were shocking and that city midfield owned them and someone like bruno would do wonders for them.

11.) 18 May 2023 10:41:03
I can't see any shock Utd transfers, which let's face it this would be. We've got so many out of contract players and ones who clearly don't fit in who'll be leaving this summer I'd be stunned if one of the few who do actually make an impact go anywhere, much less our acting captain.
Saying that - I'm highly hopeful that our actual club captain will be off in a month or two! Wonder if Fernades will be named actual captain next season, or someone else like Martinez or Casemiro?

12.) 18 May 2023 11:18:50
Whadda ya mean AJH? He heard it from his American friends, kapish?

13.) 18 May 2023 13:14:06
AJH where did I say my track record is strong?

I just pass information on I get told time to time?

I have no problems telling you it's not my information so I would never say it is or swear by it?

14.) 18 May 2023 16:30:43
As always how true and reliable thus is i cannot say, but they are never to far off.

I struggled to find anything that wasn't far off. ?‍♂️.

15.) 18 May 2023 17:21:57
Sure you have better things to do then pick on My opinion? I think they are never far off in regards to when they said glazers preferring investment and when pogba was taking the club for a ride.

Just because things don't materialise does not mean it's a false rumour or information?

I won't post anything they say again.

16.) 18 May 2023 18:26:39
How will we cope?

17.) 18 May 2023 18:38:11

There are rumours in USA that the glazers have been talking to Indian Billionares regarding the club.

Could possibly make sense as they was trying to get there noses into the cricket.

Utd today/ tomorrow

Meeting Barcelona and also Frankie agent along with Chelsea.

Meeting sesko agent again.

Have asked Chelsea about ziyech situation.

Are trying to move on a few.

BIG V

1.) 03 Aug 2022 19:56:35
What's the point in mmeting his agent when he has been clear he doesn't want 5o come to us?

2.) 03 Aug 2022 20:23:27
Because everyone has a price.

3.) 03 Aug 2022 20:26:30
Free lunch I guess Tony.

4.) 03 Aug 2022 21:52:59
ridiculous - wasted so much time on him - Sangare/ ruiz/ SMS all are available- 2 of them with known buy out clauses.2 out of those 3 would be far better and cost less than in salaries combined than FDJ.

5.) 03 Aug 2022 21:59:14
If FDJ ends up in Chelsea after everything, it will be huge embarrassment for Arnold and Murtough. If that happens, they should be forced out of the club.

6.) 03 Aug 2022 22:19:04
Watch chelsea have this wrapped up by the weekend, wouldn’t surprise me. I don’t understand the insistence on this transfer, I get ETH wants him but surely he has others in mind too. This should have been wrapped up or forgotten a month ago. It’s being used as an excuse for lack of other deals also which is laughable, nobody seems to have heard of multi tasking.

7.) 03 Aug 2022 22:25:23
Boyfromburrenway you seem to know so much than the manager,

8.) 03 Aug 2022 23:09:15
H94, all Murtough and Arnold have done is what the manager want's. FDJ is the the foundation upon which ETH wants to build our future and they have delivered an agreement with his club to enable this to take place.
It seems that the manager is the one who is keen to continue the attempt to complete the transfer and the club are, rightly, doing everything to try and deliver on his wishes. ETH is supposedly in contact with FDJ and apparently knows the reality of the situation.
I can imagine the reaction on here if it came out that the club was not doing all it could to get the No 1 target of ETH.

9.) 04 Aug 2022 09:19:00
It's sad fans just need to see shiny new tools in the club, irrespective of what the manage wants.

10.) 04 Aug 2022 09:41:13
Uwaluv,
We’ve seen the current tools. We’ve seen most of them for 3 or more years. They’re not shiny and won’t ever be.
Some shiny new tools are needed.

Maguire could fight his way back into the team,
Onana as keeper will also be more suited to him.

Do the eds think Maguire will want to leave because of the upcoming Euros?

BIG V

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea if the Euros are of any relevance.}

1.) 17 Jul 2023 09:25:54
Hes 5th choice at best, he's not good enough, now he's been embarrassed by having the captaincy stripped off him.

Would make sense to go elsewhere and actually play.

2.) 17 Jul 2023 11:19:00
Erik seems a decent chap, I'm sure they've had numerous conversations and Maguire knows where he stands. If he was 3-4th choice maybe you'd make a go of it but it couldn't have been made any clearer (publicly too) that he's not the type of CB Erik plays.

01 Jul 2023 09:41:25
I've done some reading the last few days, Through the usual media articles and then Through some financial based articles.

Think its pretty obvious that we will only spend what is available, until then ownership/ investment situation is sorted why would the glazers invest more.

Regarding the Ownership my friends in America say in the next couple of weeks it will come to a conclusion and not to rule out the Glazers staying.

Whatever happens i just want Ten hag to be supported as much as possible to help him do his job, the rest is pretty much irrelevant.

Enjoy your summer everyone.

22 Jun 2023 09:07:34
From what I read Murtogh and ETH are not on the same page regarding De gea, Finances playing there part in this.

I really hope we don't see another situation where ETH is not fully supported and he decides to make a point over a season that gets himself sacked.

BIG V

1.) 22 Jun 2023 09:24:18
Who wants what?

2.) 22 Jun 2023 09:28:44
Have our board and managers ever been on the same page since the glazers took over. If you look back there’s so many questionable signings that in retrospect managers have said they didn’t want. Sanchez, pogba to name a few. Having people unqualified but with huge egos doing jobs they are incapabale of, is why we are where we are. United should have the best in class but we are far from that.

3.) 22 Jun 2023 09:28:51
Murtogh is not going to be there once the sale goes through. I would not worry about eth. The club hiarchy all going to get a wake up call and expect plenty of changes coming.

4.) 22 Jun 2023 09:41:46
Priority is a CF as we could not score enough goals to blow teams away when we should’ve and legs in MF especially when Case was missing. I’d blow our whole budget on Kane and Rice if doable (obvs player sales with help) and sign DDG up again rather than outlay on a new GK. While I also feel we do need a new GK I think you get away with DDG in goal with players comfortable receiving the ball like Licha and Varane, while I’d like better quality to rotate with Varane if signing Rice and Kane meant Lindelof was cover and DDG stayed on then I’m all for it.
But none of this will happen and we will be lucky to end up with Onana, Todibo/ Disasi, Mount, Hoijlund (if Bayern don’t get there first) and I’d be happy with that window tbh with ETH as manager, Garnacho breaking through some more and player sales likely to happen, tho I’d have picked Costa, Kim, Rice, Kane as my window.

5.) 22 Jun 2023 11:46:20
Just hoping we make enough quality signings to make top 4 next year; because of greed of Glazers and legacy lack of planning, we’re in a really messy situation this window.

Hopefully new owners will run the club more professionally and we’ll be able to operate like Man City and Liverpool, to name a few….

So fingers crossed we do enough to improve the first team this window and not allow our incompetence to miss out on main targets.

Really hoping takeover agreed very soon and new owners allow Ten Hag some financial freedom in the market (FFP allowing) .

6.) 22 Jun 2023 15:44:42
Not sure how you are funding Costa, kim, rice and kane WRD ?

I thought I was an optimist!

7.) 22 Jun 2023 16:37:48
Obviously we will get the money from selling Maguire, Fred, McT and Martial.

8.) 22 Jun 2023 16:38:33
I know Dodgy, that’s in the parallel world I occasionally frequent ? I’d settle for Rice and Kane ??.

9.) 22 Jun 2023 18:21:20
It’s obvious really.

Costa £65m
Kim £50m
Rice £100m
Kane £100m
= £315m spend

Speak to the Saudi’s and…
Maguire £50m
Fred £40m
McT £50m
Martial £40m

Add Henderson £25m and VDB £20m and we only need to find £90m.

It’s so simple when you think about it. I don’t know what is taking us so long to be honest.

10.) 22 Jun 2023 23:58:54
The Saudis are buying up Chelsea rejects to help them get around FFP because they're invested in both Boehly's Clearlake Capital and in Saudi Football league teams They won't want to help United get rid of its dross.

{Ed002's Note - Are you beyond ignorant? Clearlake Capital is not Todd Boehly’s. I am not aware of “The Saudis” buying any rejects and it is nothing whatsoever to do with FSG. Embarrassing.}

11.) 23 Jun 2023 08:47:20
The Saudi League is a bit like the Liv golf thing, where from a pure spend/ investment purpose it makes no sense. If you look at other things being done there at the moment like Neom, DDGA, Red sea, seven etc etc financial returns of this stuff is all very questionable but its being done with a long term view of completely changing the country.

When it comes to football it has a 40 mill population and they are crazy about their football so in some ways its not as far fetched as the other stuff.

In terms of relationships all the PE firms, Large hedge funds have had relationships with sovereign wealth funds out here for many years so nothing unusual there.

12.) 23 Jun 2023 08:59:36
Brendan - Fred £40m? Fulham are baulking at £10-15m.

11 Apr 2023 00:28:11
A associate of mine close to the Swedish national team is pretty adamant Lindelof will be leaving in the summer.

Ed, have any teams shown interest in him for the summer?

BIG V

{Ed002's Note - RTP.}

1.) 11 Apr 2023 13:27:16
Might end up having to replace Maguire, Lindelof, Bailly and Tuanzebe.

2.) 11 Apr 2023 13:48:26
I can't see both Lindy and Maguire going myself but certainly one. Frighteningly I guess Maguire is our biggest sellable asset.

3.) 11 Apr 2023 14:30:36
All 4 mentioned Cbs can leave for me. We need quality players at club.

4.) 11 Apr 2023 15:44:30
Could sign Ndicka and de Vrij on free transfers as back up and still be better off in terms of playing quality.

5.) 11 Apr 2023 20:21:57
I agree Mad Hatter, whilst we will have to be clever in the window and progression from the youth set up none of those should remain. We need to clear space for better.
Between the lot we could bring in £40m+ and should be able to bring in one of the targets.

24 Mar 2023 13:20:08
The talk in America is that the Glazers have found the financing they need to stay at the club.

Not sure what or how this changes anything at the club.

Maybe there is no point in bidding now unless it's an offer that they cannot refuse.

I'd be very surprised if they decided to sell and walk away now.

BIG V

1.) 24 Mar 2023 13:50:03
Any funds they would receive by selling a partial stake in the club would go to them. This money would certainly not be used for club business and we know this because they've never put a penny into the club.

If the goal is to stay and redevelop Old Trafford (a new stadium would be too expensive) and Carrington, then they would need a loan leveraged against the club. We already have the loan they took out 18 years ago to pay, we owe nearly £300 million in transfer fees also.

The club couldn't absorb that much more debt and stay semi competitive in the league.

They drained the club dry. They're selling because the Super League failed, sponsorship is slowly down, the debt the club have around their neck is beginning to take its toll and they havnt a clue on how to move the club forward.

I would be amazed if they decide to stay after going through this process. Its all a game of cat and mouse and I see Qatar blinking first and paying close to what the Glazers want.

2.) 24 Mar 2023 14:02:16
The talk is that currently borrowing is set to get even more expensive. if the Glazer's took out one hundred million a year in dividends it would take them 50 years to rake in what apparently is on the table now. they're going to sell. they can't afford to run this club and they can't afford to turn down what's being offered.

3.) 24 Mar 2023 14:32:24
Good post Mumbles.

4.) 24 Mar 2023 14:50:20
I do think people have forgotten they can raise money through selling stadium naming rights.

Selling ground around the stadium.
Selling training facilities and then renting back etc

There is still a lot that can be done from the glazers side.

Long term they could just sit tight and wait it out until some success comes along.

The 31% they don't control could still be attained by someone that would want to invest in club.

Many options are on the table I imagine that most do not know about.

5.) 24 Mar 2023 15:14:00
They havnt been able to deliver much success without the genius of Sir Alex. They probably could have sat tight for a few years but that option is an incredibly dangerous one now they've opened Pandoras box.

If they pull the rug out and stay, sell the naming rights to Old Trafford, sell Carrington to rent it back all while finishing between 6th and 3rd, there would be riots.

You've always been well informed Big V, i'm not having a go at you mate. What you're saying could indeed happen, I just can't see them staying. I'm sure the Raine Group are being paid a pretty penny for their involvement, the fan unrest if they stayed and then if they did want to sell in 5 years time, would they be taken seriously?

6.) 24 Mar 2023 15:51:54
If they don't sell now, there won't be many buyers lining up to go through the process in future. that's not how business houses run. They will sell. Its just leaks to eek out every last penny they can from the buyer.

7.) 24 Mar 2023 20:05:04
For sure there would be a big fan reaction.

Nice to have opinions that are not points scoring on here.

Top man Mumbles.

8.) 24 Mar 2023 20:27:38
n last hour many papers report Qataris have offered the full 6 billion- who really knows.

9.) 25 Mar 2023 08:54:46
There has been speculation this has been about increasing the value to exploit better lending options, whilst enabling the leeches to fill their pockets yet retaining ownership. We should put nothing past these owners. However, boy who cried wolf comes to mind. If that is what they do, then business people will remember it when they do try to sell. Once burnt.

Negotiations are about having two extremes and reaching agreement, that is what this looks like so far. The leeches could not leave themselves with no option to stay or buyers knowing they “had” to sell would make lower offers. Giving the indication they can easily stay but might be tempted by the right offer is a negotiation tool.

However, if these disgusting leeches stay, the club will be utterly toxic, even more now we have had the carrot of what Qatar and other buyers would do. It has to end here for the Glazers, who, by admittedly clever astute business have squeezed everything they can out.

We cannot come out of this with debt, that simple. I suspect the rumours and noise is just positioning in public, trying to obtain the best deal from buyer or seller perspective. The OP from Big V sounds like a rumour almost made to reach Qatar ears. Yes they may well have financing in principle available but the toxic mess they would keep will quickly see the asset devalue, leaving any financier concerned.

This must be the Glazers last stand, even I would consider joining a demonstration against them if they fudge a stay.

10.) 25 Mar 2023 10:25:58
The problem is with Joel and Avram they are not on the same wave length as there siblings and believe the relationship can be fixed with the fans if they can deliver some future success and infrastructure development.

Some American friends I get the odd bit of information from has told me a couple of times an American investment firm are right in the mix to take some shares and offer investment.

Looking at the long game is risky for whoever they are and the glazers.

I don't mind if it's SJR or Qatar I just want a club that is not at risk with debt looming over the club.

Whatever happens i think the fan base that are wagging there tails for Qatar have not thought about there disaster at another Club other than psg.

11.) 25 Mar 2023 10:48:52
If they don't sell now, there will be complete and utter outrage with the fans. They've made their bed now they need to lie in it.

12.) 25 Mar 2023 21:25:23
Redwhiskey since when didnit matter to the Glazers what the fans think or want? They will do what any commercial operator do. look to extract the maximum income from their investment and they won't care about anything else.
