Southampton's new boss Ronald Koeman has increased the price tag on England left-back Luke Shaw, 18, by £10m to £40m.
1.) Probably the worse story I have ever read. Like Koeman would have a part in player valuations.
2.) Well over priced at 30m nevermind 40m
3.) This must be an example of the World Cup driving up prices. Must be true: Shaw had a blinder.
4.) It is most likely a ploy to get us to pay the actual £30m that they want.
5.) Perhaps a bit of MotD fever, but would a bid for Daley Blind not be a better option if the prices being talked about are true?
Granted we need a new LB, but £30-40 for an unproven player is a bit much.
Surely we could save money on Blind, and invest the rest somewhere else? i.e.: top up any bid for Hummels etc?
6.) You're right Roman, you couldn't miss how good he is just by how he kept the bench warm.
7.) RedDub, Blind isn't actually a left back. He generally plays as a defensive midfielder for Ajax but he is versatile and can play several positions, one of which being LB. Personally I would rather pay the money and get a specialised LB.
8.) Blind as the number 6, Herrera as the number 8, Rooney as number 10. Midfield wouldn't look too shabby then.
9.) TK, my bad, never realised that Blind wasn't actually a LB.
Agree with you that we should spend money on a specialised LB, but 30-40m for Shaw is a little bit rich.

United's move for Southampton left-back Luke Shaw, 19, is in doubt with Louis van Gaal looking at a move for Barcelona's Jordi Alba, 25. A newspaper
1.) Can't see it - Barca are already looking for 2 CBs and potentially a new RB if Dani Alves leaves. I can't see them looking for a new LB on top of all that.
surely just paper talk or agent/player looking for a new contract talk (i would think)
2.) Don't forget that they've also just signed a new keeper. At this rate they'll be replacing everybody apart Neymar and Messi!

Paddy Power has branded Manchester United boss David Moyes the Wolf of Wall Street after the club took a £150million dive.
That's how much the bookmaker said the club's value has dropped with its lacklustre performance since Moyes replaced Sir Alex Ferguson six months ago.
A Paddy Power spokesman said: "Moyes looks to be the Wolf of Wall Street as far as the investors are concerned.
"Wiping a cool $250m off the club's share price in six months is a spending feat even Roman Abramovich would be proud of."
Paddy Power has started taking odds on how low the US-listed club's share price - currently around $15 - will go by the end of the season.
It's offering 12/1 that the price will fall to $10 or less.
1.) Id say with the signing of Mata and the returns or Rooney and RVP we will see things change. And in the summer I can only predict the stock valuation rising as their will hopefully be an influx of players.
2.) Deutsche bank downgraded the stock this morning siting concerns about escalating players wages.

Shame no defenders have been bought . counter attacking teams will hve a field day
Best thing to do with that article is recycle the paper with your Local Council .
Quite right geomax . and a good one
Another make believe story from a newspaper . should be quite a bidding war if Arsenal & Manchester City are looking too .£15 million Moyes having a laugh again
The sun is getting to the heads of the tabloid press sitting on the beach following Manchester United in Dubai .
Coleman is MUSTARD . hopefully, if fit, we shall form our own opinions this weekend.

When Shaw bombs forward . BIG holes appear at the back . sucker for the counter
Should think he may in the next couple of weeks . probable to Brazil for a little exercise
Gus Poyet would be a better choice .
