{Ed001's Note - yes it is, very much so.}

1.) 15 Dec 2015 07:53:17
It was only last week he was definitely seeing out his contract. I know things can change quickly in football, but are the Eds aware of something that has specifically changed at board level for him to be under such pressure because they surely watched the football we have been playing all season?

{Ed001's Note - I have never said he was definitely seeing out his contract.}

2.) 15 Dec 2015 08:06:09
I know a couple of posters have alluded to it but this feels Very similar to just before Moyes was sacked. I think he's one bad result away from being pushed out. Time to send some mince pies to Carlo to tempt him out of his sabbatical.

3.) 15 Dec 2015 10:18:27
Great news I say. Let Giggs call the shots for the next 7 or 8 months and negotiate a deal for Pep in the mean time.

4.) 15 Dec 2015 10:34:55
Call Ancellotti - sure he was in the media recently saying he'd love to work for s big club in England.

{Ed001's Note - Ancelotti is very keen to take the job, when/if it becomes available.}

5.) 15 Dec 2015 11:49:37
Id take ancellotti over pep all day long.

As you say Ed001 ancellotti is keen to take the job what are we waiting for its a no Brainer Imo.

Also players seem to like him as a coach.

{Ed001's Note - players love him.}

6.) 15 Dec 2015 12:01:58
He a players coach.

01 Nov 2015 13:25:22
i see the press up to their usual rubbish talk about our transfer targets for jan anerson of lazio bale again and all sorts of other unattainable players i think anderson would be the only one that we could get as all the others are cup tied as in champions league and are they willing to come to utd and play the boring lvg philosophy of keeping the ball at all costs and take no risks have any of the eds got any insight or insider knowledge of who we are trying to sign if anyone after all we have spent 350 million in last two windows with only champions league to show for that and a qtr final fa cup are the board prepared to steam roll cash again thanks eds in advance.

Con con

{Ed004's Note - Not sure how much is available to spend tbh}

1.) 02 Nov 2015 11:45:13
saw a mahrez rumour floating around. that might be more likely that any of the names you mention above.

01 Sep 2015 15:31:22
rumours we are interested in calhangalou any truth ed i know it was reported on rubbish metro but they got their info from turkish media thanks for all your trojan work for us all on the site

Con con

{Ed002's Note - Hakan Calhanoglu has made no secret that he wants to move to Barcelona in 2016 and Barcelona has encouraged this - but much depends on some managerial issues. I would not have been surprised to have seen Arsenal make a move for him after Fekir became not available. I don't see how MU fits in to any of this.}

1.) 01 Sep 2015 16:10:15
Any chance of zlatan anybody ?

2.) 01 Sep 2015 17:30:50
Superb freekick taker, probably the best in world right now. But do we need him?

16 Jul 2015 08:06:42
Just wondering ed do u think we will looking to buy not 1 but 2 goalkeepers and would 1 be the argentinian goalkeeper who is a free agent also please tell me our interest in benteke is just paper talk i find a release clause of 32and ahalf million a bit steep for benteke much better value out there

Con con

{Ed001's Note - I expect two now Valdes has falled out with LVG. I wonder if he is now wishing he had accepted that deal in Turkey? I am not aware of anything in the Benteke stories.}

1.) 16 Jul 2015 08:26:25
Thanks ed for your swift reply u are playing a blinder

{Ed001's Note - thanks mate.}

Hi ed
Can u inform us if poss has a bid been accepted for darmain as reported on sky italia or is it just more gossip then truth appreciate your knowledge and insight

Con con

{Ed004's Note - Ed002 isn't around ATM but there is a good chance that we are trying to sign Darmian}

nollaig shonna duit in irish happy xmas what's the state of play stoke is a must win game to stay in touch i'd be happy with a point against chelsea also back rita sun in the 2.25 on stephens day in england boxing day.

Con con

1.) 23 Dec 2015 07:42:34
To be honest the best I see us getting over the next two games is one point.

Stoke is always a tough game, and Hughes has them playing good football. They are strong in defence, with intelligent and quick forwards. If they are weak anywhere it is in midfield. They will soak up the pressure and hit us on the counter. I don't see us breaking them down, if we are lucky we may get a goal. But the chances are we will concede at least one. It'll be a low scoring game, 2-1 at most.

Chelsea will be bouyed with the release of the stress and atmosphere that Mourinho creates at a club. Plus they will be looking to impress Hiddink, and I expect there to be a few bruised egos in that dressing room, so I expect Chelsea to start a real push up the table. I wouldn't be surprised if they are the in form team come the end of January. that's why I wanted Mourinho to hang on there as long as possible. 9 loses in 16 games, with no sign of it improving. If he could have held on until the end of February they would have been dead and buried. But now they have an outside chance of challenging for a top four spot. The league is very unpredicable this year and no one beyond the top three have anything like consistent form. Chelsea are only four wins away from 4th spot, can any one say they don't think either ourselves or Spurs will lose four games between now and the end of the season. The gap between us and top is 9 points, between Chelsea and 4th it is 11. Hardly an impossible task. They will be focused on it, and because of that I don't see us getting anything out of the Chelsea game.

Come the new year I wouldn't be stunned if Chelsea are closer in points to 4th than we will be to 1st.

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea are a lot further than four wins from a top four spot.}

2.) 23 Dec 2015 09:03:23
Well they need 4 wins more than their rivals for a top four spot.

Make no mistake they ars still a great team. Under Mourinho they lost their drive. Mourinho's teams require 100% commitment as they are teams built out of functionality rather than flair. The moment his Chelsea team lost that they lost their ability to grind out results. Wins become draws and draws become losses.

Once results go against you it starts to sap the conifdence.

That is all this Chelsea team is missing, If they put in 100% they will start to win games again, once they start winning the confidence will come back. In Courtios, Azpiliqueta, Oscar, Matic, Fabregas, Hazard and Costa they have some of the best players in the league in their positions.

Its not a team that requires an overhaul, just some motivation and confidence. A couple of tweaks here and there and they will be a challenger again.

{Ed002's Note - Four more wins than every one above them except the top three - so all of the other clubs would need to stop playing each other for a long time.}

3.) 23 Dec 2015 11:44:01
Shappy from the current table it looks like 65-70 points could secure 4th. (obviously it's not an exact science) . If Chelsea win every single game they can get 81 points so it's a massive task that would require them to be head and shoulders better than everyone else from now until the end of the season. If Chelsea finish in the top 4 I'll eat my hat.

4.) 23 Dec 2015 12:24:24
I don't think its likely but its certainly possible. They have one of the best squads in the league.

The league this season is all over the place. Leicester are top now and this time last year they were bottom. Chelsea won the league and are now down in 16th.

Everyone is capable of beating anyone. And there have been some very stange results Liverpool beating City and Chelsea then losing comprahensively against Newcastle who were in the bottom three for example.

Its unlikely Chelsea will get top four now, but by the same token I wouldn't be stunned if they did.

so fergie wetting himself ovwr klopp
heard him talking at seminars about coaching and all that if so why wasnt he your replacement more bollox from a director asnt in fergie it look like we are a rutherless ship clueless.

Con con

{Ed001's Note - have you thought that maybe Klopp wouldn't have been interested in taking the job when Fergie left? To be fair to Fergie, there were not many people interested in taking on the job when he retired. It was always a hiding to nothing, not only would you be compared to Ferguson, but you would have him watching from the stands each week. When Moyes went would have been the wrong time too, so I think you are being a little harsh there.}

1.) 08 Dec 2015 09:02:57
Not to mention a small army of ex United players and coaches in the media every day complaining that it's not like it was in the old days.

2.) 08 Dec 2015 09:04:52
Rutherless? What does that mean?

Being extremely harsh, Fergie is saying what a lot of us were thinking, Klopp is a good manager and could do really well at Liverpool, the timings just were never right for him to come to us.

3.) 08 Dec 2015 10:59:22
Isn't it possible that there is more than one good manager in football?
Whats wrong with a rival hiring a good manager?

The Glazers need the club to be in the UCL, the more teams that can challenge for the top four the more chance there is we might miss out. So wouldn't that increased competiton force the Glazers to invest in the club in order to keep their investment in the best financial shape?

The fact is the Glazers have put a far greater investment into our club since our year out of the UCL then they did in the 9 years before.

4.) 08 Dec 2015 13:16:19
Absolutely Shappy. Without consistent Champions League participation United's financial edifice will crumble. The loss of participation revenues will be matched by a reduction in commercial revenues. Qualification as a regularity is a must. The financial implications of a further £250m-£500m investment are small compared to the cost of being a mediocre mid-table also ran, especially with the current financials showing an expectation that existing debt will be virtually paid down by 2017-18.
