Eds, do you have any info relating to a bid for Sterling?
{Ed004's Note - There's hasn't been one}
1.) 04 Jun 2015 08:57:08
So the news today shows. Apparently we are "preparing one", which is presumably code for a lack of evidence or Liverpool letting the minimum fee be known to start the bidding.
2.) 04 Jun 2015 19:06:22
We have no interest in him.
3.) 04 Jun 2015 23:13:42
Why would Manchester United have no interest in Sterling?

Eds, do Manchester United have any registered interest in Benteke or Lukaku?
{Ed007's Note - No.}

Good, let's go for Icardi then! Apparently inter have offered £60k a week? He isn't happy about that? Put a better offer on the table then Utd! We have all but secured CL, sorted! If that doesn't happen we have Benzema as back up with De Gea off to Madrid?

Re: Fabregas. Interested to know what's true and what's not. The press seem all over the place with this story and it offers an intriguing insight into how deals are done and why clubs might sell a player they fought so hard to get from Arsenal
1.) I think we shot our wad last season won't happen this one

Hi Eds, curious to know how true this 50% of transfer fee sell on clause is in the Fabregas contract - as some saying it's 50% of profit - and whether it will prevent a deal being done by Chelsea (and possibly United)?
{Ed002's Note - Why not lets ignore it.}

I would sell Dalot. Good player but not better than Wan Bisaka. OGS may promote Laird and make a profit on a squad player and use that money towards Bellingham cost.

I would keep Martial but I wouldn’t rush to offer Ighalo a new contract. He has done really well but it was and should remain a short term fix. The focus should be on bringing someone in who we can rely on for 2 or 3 seasons.

There is no excuse for this kind of behaviour. Whatever people think of how someone does his or her job, you don’t attack them or their family home. It’s embarrassing for grown adults to be doing this. I am embarrassed by this. I hope they are prosecuted.

Fernandes wants to move. Sporting need the money. Why would you not negotiate down the asking price. These things take a bit of time but I feel confident United will agree the transfer and we can then all focus on the next player linked.

If the plan is to develop youth and bring in quality then why would we worry about selling a winger covering the full back position? Young has been a good player for United but nothing more. Roll the dice.

Totally agree with Ed004. Brighton gained confidence when Pogba and Fernandes left the pitch. Reminds me of players talking about winning the game in the tunnel.

@DanJames, think that’s a bit harsh fella. Solksjaer is doing his best and currently the ‘mood’ in the camp appears positive and we are on a good run and IMO are a better team to watch. However, winning the league is incredibly difficult given the quality and money swirling around. Perhaps United can strengthen in the economic downturn to make up some ground but as I said earlier, let’s focus on CL qualification and the two cups now and then add one or two players of quality to go again next season.

Sadly, it would feel like one!
{Ed047's Note - always look on the bright side mate, at least you’re not an Arsenal supporter! 🤷â€â™‚ï¸ðŸ¤£

Ha ha, true! Although my Arsenal friends are even more concerned about their club than I am about United. We have to prove we are good not talk about the Fergie years. United need to getting in top 4 to attract better players and be hearing that CL music again on match nights. Then if we can we push again for the title. It took Klopp 4 seasons/ years.
{Ed047's Note - Well in the mean time you do have the bonus of 4th place being a trophy! 😉🤣ðŸ‘ðŸ¼
27 Jun 2020 08:28:35
Personally, United should be aiming to become regulars in the top 4 before thinking of titles. It’s a very competitive league with some wonderful managers even managing teams lower down than United (Ancelotti at Everton) let alone the likes of Guardiola and Klopp; so, perhaps a target of building towards challenging for the league in three more seasons would seem sensible.
{Ed047's Note - is this the Arsenal page of years gone by, sure sounds like it. 🤦â€â™‚ï¸ðŸ¤£
