Ed,

I know we are after Costa as a RW target. Could you please share if possible, who are we targeting for the the AM position? .

Singh

{Ed002's Note - Jaoa Felix as I have explained before.}

1.) 06 Mar 2019 17:06:43
Oh yes i forgot his name. Thanks Ed.

2.) 07 Mar 2019 04:39:16
I hope Hirving Lozano is another RW who is still of interest.

{Ed002's Note - I would not hold your breath.}

19 Nov 2018 11:59:43
Ed i hope you are well,

Are we interested in signing a midfielder in january?

There are lots of reports that we are going to bid for Lorenzo Pellegrini in january.

Anyways.

Singh

{Ed002's Note - I cannot sensibly answer questions about the timings of transfers. Clubs are often reluctant to sell in January as they cannot find replacements and certainlt Roma will not want to sell Lorenzo Pellegrini. But as I have said, Manchester United are looking again at LP who has been on the list since last January but he was well down the list of options available although remained of interest - but as they have failed to sign who Mr Mourinho has wanted he is again an option.}

1.) 19 Nov 2018 12:31:30
Sorry Ed002, Was Tony Kroos the preferred option by Mourinho?

{Ed002's Note - Done to death - why do I keep getting the same questions? Read the posts, use the search engine.}

2.) 19 Nov 2018 13:03:10
with the new champions league rule changes taking effect, I am sure we will see more transfer activity in January.

3.) 19 Nov 2018 12:40:44
Thanks Ed - is there any names you can give for a right sided midfielder?

{Ed002's Note - Obviously Fred plays on the right of midfield if desired but most CM players are adaptable enough. The club do not seem to be attempting to look for specifically RM players.}

4.) 19 Nov 2018 13:26:30
Thanks ED. I don't think he will be a sensible choice as he is very inexperienced but you just never know how it work out if we sign him.

5.) 19 Nov 2018 15:16:53
Apologies Ed, meant more right sided forwards?

{Ed002's Note - I don't think there is an immediate priority right now Fresh. CB remains the priority.}

6.) 19 Nov 2018 17:37:40
wasted trip for Jose going to Switzerland than if he went to see Toby Alderweireld.

7.) 20 Nov 2018 10:06:22
Maybe Nico Elvedi ;)

13 Oct 2018 13:11:13
Ed any interest in lucas hernandez of atletico?

Singh

{Ed002's Note - Yes but it is far from new interest.}

1.) 13 Oct 2018 13:21:44
Cheers ed. Have we ended our interest in alderwereld?

{Ed002's Note - The club were unwilling to try to complete a deal in the summer so interest is elsewhere. But LH would not be of interest as a CB.}

2.) 13 Oct 2018 13:32:26
Would skrinar be one of the first choices as a cb as he looks like a very good cb.

{Ed002's Note - Most certainly but much will depend on whether pne faction of the press and the toxics get their way.
Milan Skriniar (CB) Financial demands of Inter are excessive and the said they will sell for €75M in the Summer of 2018 - expect that price to be well over €100M now but Manchester United remain very keen and may be able to negotiate
Nikola Milenkovic (CB) financial viable and a target from his time at Chelsea
Rúben Dias (CB) Manchester United's manager has held a discussion with the player's agent
Toby Alderweireld (CB) Chances of him joining remain as they were - it will be difficult
Raphael Varane (CB) - it drags on rather but Real Madrid may be willing to let him leave for the right price as part of their major rebuild programme – so might be possible but the price could be through the roof.}

3.) 13 Oct 2018 14:57:32
Thanks ed. Some interesting choices and they all look like top up and coming defenders apart from Toby as he is very experienced.

4.) 13 Oct 2018 14:57:46
Is it more reasonable to consider josé was at the serbia game to look at milenkovic as opposed milinkovic-savic?

{Ed002's Note - I would not make such assumptions. Perhaps he is able to look at two players at the same time?}

5.) 13 Oct 2018 15:30:43
the man knows no bounds!

6.) 14 Oct 2018 10:59:57
Fantastic info Ed002, thank you! As mentioned above, looks like we’re considering quality defenders.

{Ed002's Note - Obviously these are the targets of the incumbant one.}

7.) 14 Oct 2018 11:51:09
Great Info ed would the main targets for Jan match those as the summer? right wing central mid and CB? Maybe a right back could now be added with Valencia causing problems. I know all is dependent on Jose still being manager and won't be easy in January.

{Ed002's Note - I cannot answer about the timing of transfers, particularly in January. You likely have unrealistic expectations for January and the club had no interest in going after many of the players that had previously been identified as potions. The club has however continued to look at players, but these are players that were primarily identified to meet the brief that Mr Mourinho identified. Additionally much will depend on who leaves.}

8.) 14 Oct 2018 10:59:57
Fantastic info Ed002, thank you! As mentioned above, looks like we’re considering quality defenders.

{Ed002's Note - This would be entirely dependent on the incumbent manager staying of course.}

08 Oct 2018 17:00:29
Ed,

Are there any players we will look to sign in the January window and if you could treat us with some names it would be appreciated from the Manchester United Page.

Singh

{Ed002's Note - Right now the club is obviously in a difficult position regarding the witch hunt, the situation with Mr Mourinho and the need to sell players in order to free up wages and places in the squad. January is not a time that clubs typically plan to make changes but I am aware of more movement than would normally be seen in respect of plans for January. The problem Manchester United have from that perspective is that the players that might arrive would be based on the desires of the incumbent manager and those who have been working in the scouting department to find suitable options to suits the needs as seen now. If there were a change of manager before the end of the year, my expectation would be the smallest of changes in January.}

1.) 08 Oct 2018 18:03:42
Ed, are you aware which direction the club are leaning towards with Jose?

{Ed002's Note - I have had several days of everyone here telling me that Mr Mourinho that he was being sacked on Saturday night and Zidane was to replace him. I explained the situation about the first point then - I had no need to explain about Zidane. Clearly there is a witch hunt from one of the newspapers and many, many of the fans if the folks here are representative. The problem is, that most have no grasp of the workings of the club and seemingly think the Woodward makes all of the decisions - again I have explained that is untrue. I am not aware of any decision by the board to sack the manager at this time but if the situation becomes untenable they may need to seek a resolution - their focus up to now has been on a different job that needs filling - the Director of Football role. The toxics must love all of this.}

2.) 08 Oct 2018 18:20:05
Are then any viable options for the club, interms of who could possibly take over from Mourinho.
I would presume that they have a potential list of next managers drawn up' give the current predicament.
Is the focus on appointing a DOF or is that been put on hold for the time being?

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any potential list of new managers the club has drawn up - they would need to take advice over the matter. In terms of interim managers, both Sam Allardyce and Glenn Roeder are available.}

3.) 08 Oct 2018 18:31:44
Personally ed I think with or without Jose the club need to sort a dof by Christmas giving them the 2nd half of the season the make plans and changes. I'm unsure on what the best course would be with mourinho as I'd be loathe to let some of the players think the way they have acted is acceptable i'd much prefer to remove them before making a decision on the manager. However if Jose continues to publicly criticise the players and complain publicly about what he doesn't have he may leave the club with little choice.

4.) 08 Oct 2018 18:42:45
Thanks ed as usual.

5.) 08 Oct 2018 19:16:17
Haha Glenn roeder 😂.

6.) 08 Oct 2018 21:26:03
Love it ed. Let's hope that the toxics wind it in and hopefully Jose gets the backing to make some personnel changes. Also hopeful that a DOF comes in to handle the footballing side.

We seem to bit quite a behind other teams at the moment, not just because what's happening on the pitch but most importantly what's been happening off the pitch.

Has there ever been an interest from the club's hierarchy to get any of the class of 92 more involved. I am aware Nicky Butt is there but I was just wondering would they consider looking at past players.

{Ed002's Note - The club needs the best people to work in such people, not random players from the past.}

7.) 10 Oct 2018 08:07:26
Sure ed. I was just wondering if they'd ever been considered.

I hope that they can get what they want.

{Ed002's Note - I don't see why the club would consider any of the "Class of 92" as being suitable managers/head coaches for the club as there is little or no experience:
David Beckham - tax exile and failed parfumerie looking to leverage the social profile of himself and his wife in order to run a soccerball franchise and old folks home in Miami. Tattoos ruled him out of his preferred role and the next James Bond.
Nicky Butt - experience at unsuccessfully running a pretty poor Manchester United youth set up - far from what the club needs.
Ryan Giggs - has a tiny bit of experience as the Wales manager but that would not be of any use at all in managing Manchester United - continues to flirt with the nonsense of Vietnamese football - maybe they will have a job for him?
Gary Neville - by far the most experienced manager wise with stats to rival Glenn Roeder - might be the best option.
Phil Neville - the one with the smarts out of the bunch but experience is in the girls version of the game.
Paul Scholes - becoming a bitter old man and is using his position as the world's most respected pundit leading the charge to remove everyone who doesn't have ginger hair from the club. Eventually he will become a pundit based in the Middle East.}

8.) 10 Oct 2018 12:26:52
Out of interest Ed002, who do you think is capable of doing the job? Obviously we've had your thoughts on the DOF etc but I'm curious to know what head coaches or managers are fit for the purpose.

{Ed002's Note - There are numerous coaches who could do the job perfectly well but the club, should they need to, will have to think about availability, cost, desire etc.. They also need to think about the level of risk there would be involved. It is easy to argue that Max Allegri could do a good job, but he is already at Juventus and has been messed around in the past by Manchester United and turning down Real Madrid shows he is not looking to move. Carlo Ancelotti could do a fine job but his has just joined Napoli. Antonio Conte has had repeaseted success and could do a good job but may not be interested in a return to England and there are others already looking at him and speaking with Chelsea. Laurent Blanc is available, knows the club and has the perfect skill set. Pochettino would be of interest but perhaps not available. Simeone could do the job but would not be interested. I could go on ....}

9.) 11 Oct 2018 07:48:06
Ed002, what about Leonardo Jardim?

{Ed002's Note - This is the Manchester United page.}

10.) 11 Oct 2018 10:03:13
Great reply and insight Ed. I was speaking about this with friends recently and the consensus was Blanc, Simeone, Pochettino, (maybe Beilsa) and Allegri. One outsider was mentioned too that might be a decent punt and that was Nuno Santo from Wolves. a bit inexperienced but has a good pedigree and playing good football with a currently unfashionable side.
However the core of the matter is we currently have a manager so this is all hypothetical until the case is otherwise.

11.) 11 Oct 2018 13:39:29
Apologies, Ed002, my question was not clear.

What I meant was, will Leonardo Jardim be a good coach for United?

{Ed002's Note - No.}

Where?

2.) 16 Jul 2018 01:30:12
Cheers Ed002 as always. Bit underwhelming really for us but then again often its the unsung transfers that work out great. Love that Kroos is a major possibility. I'd keep Pogba if possible myself but who knows.

3.) 16 Jul 2018 08:41:21
Excellent listening, thank you Ed002 and all the other Ed's for running the sites.

4.) 16 Jul 2018 11:03:29
Thanks a lot Ed002, very interesting and found the Lichsteiner/ Ryan comments very amusing.

RIP to the kids caught up in a fire in Brazil today.

Very Sad News.

Singh

1.) 08 Feb 2019 16:05:48
So tragic, a devastating event.

08 Feb 2019 12:05:09
Jones signing a new contract. He is good defender but just isn't fit enough i hope qe have checked his knees before giving him a new contract.

Singh

1.) 08 Feb 2019 12:56:22
I don't think its the end of the world, out of him, Smalling and Rojo he is the best defender. That might not be saying much, but if we are to keep one based on ability Jones is the obvious pick.

It's his fitness that is the problem. But if we promote Tuanzebe next season and sign one new CB, while selling Smalling and Rojo that would give us a choice of 5. Which should be fine even if Jones does get injured brushing his teeth.

He also helps with our "homegrown" quota.

2.) 08 Feb 2019 13:37:16
Personally would keep smalling over him. Smalling has scored some vital goes and for me is the best out the 3. Distribution can be poor but his strength and aerial ability is decent for a backup.

3.) 08 Feb 2019 13:46:48
I think its a emotional decision to give him a mew contract because he is home grown. He has all the talent but just isn't fit enough.

4.) 08 Feb 2019 14:49:32
I absolutely would not keep Smalling next season. With the EPL ready to introduce VAR Smalling would be giving away at least one penalty every week. He just can't defend without holding on to players.

Once VAR is introduced he will have nowhere to hide. Get rid before we see his value nose dive.

5.) 08 Feb 2019 15:21:24
I was about to say we should sell Smalling to Liverpool next season and see how many points he'd cost them with VAR.

01 Jan 2019 01:32:45
Happy new yr evryone. Love u all.

Singh

1.) 01 Jan 2019 02:56:43
I really hope this year is the year hahaha.
I can't wait for us vs Spurs.
I hope ole manages to get a positive result, and it will be very interesting to see how we lineup against a top class team who will attack us as we attack them.

2.) 01 Jan 2019 14:03:32
Happy new year! We will beat Newcastle tomorrow and we will beat Tottenham too, i also think we do now have a chance to beat PSG and if i were in charge of the club i would be working towards making OLE the manager for the next 2,3 years with an option to 5 instead of keep appointing "world class managers" who don't have a clue what it means to manage man utd, from history, traditions to culture and philosophy Ole knows all that, he is the perfect candidate for the job, with him i think we have a real chance to get to the top sooner rather than later. Sometimes you know when something is just right and OLE to me is the best option that we have to get back to where we were before Moyes. We will make top 4 and we will have a very good run in the champions league even if PSG beat us we will go down fighting the Utd way. Not parking the bus, trailer, airplane, submarine, spaceship under De Gea's goal.

3.) 01 Jan 2019 15:29:40
Lolllllll.

18 Dec 2018 12:10:01
Mourinho gone and Smalling given a new contract! What a week this has been.

Ed a question for you.

Do you think we would challenge for titles under Laurent Blanc if we sign him on a permanent basis.

Do you think he has the right qualities to be fighting against Klopp and co? .

Singh

{Ed002's Note - I cannot answer questions like that. It depends on many, many different factors.}

1.) 18 Dec 2018 12:23:16
No probs Ed. Have a fab day.

2.) 18 Dec 2018 12:42:49
can you answer in your opinion do you rate him as a manager.

and would he be the type of manager if you were given the choice of who to hire.

thanks.

27 Nov 2018 14:58:04
Ed,

How can you let Jred to insult me and when i reply back to his post it doesn't get posted.

Singh

{Ed001's Note - you posted up an insulting comment about a player, which he pointed out that he might say the same about you if he knew you. It was no more than pointing out that you went too far. Suck it up for heaven's sake.}

1.) 27 Nov 2018 15:38:01
Come on Ed. I don't take things too far and have never insulted any posters here on a personal level and i expect the same from fellow posters.

I have seen a lot worse here then what i said.

Anyways no issues ed and have a fab day.

{Ed001's Note - I never said you did, but you did call a player a moron and now you are arsey because it was turned on you. Perhaps if you are touchy about it being said about you, then you should think better of using it about others?}

2.) 27 Nov 2018 16:23:16
Ed. I just love your new Mrs. Doasyouwouldbedoneby character.

{Ed001's Note - erm thank you I think.}

3.) 27 Nov 2018 16:52:30
I am sure you will feel the same way if that was aimed at you.

Anyways i am not here for an argument.

{Ed001's Note - you still aren't getting it are you? You aimed the exact same insult at someone else now you are whining when it is aimed at you. Can you not understand why you need to give it up and learn not to give it out first before complaining about getting it back?}

4.) 27 Nov 2018 17:54:53
Okau no probs Ed.

{Ed001's Note - cheers mate.}

5.) 28 Nov 2018 00:16:49

I didn't call you a Moran pal, I just said pogba may have a similar opinion of you as you have of him .

6.) 28 Nov 2018 11:09:04

TOP Top post Danny and 666. It is time for us to move on from pogba. I will be so gutted to see City sign Niguez who desperately wanted to play in England and we had a great chance of singing him a couple yesrs ago but instead we signed a player who never wanted to come to us in the first place!
