Ed, do you know of any update on Gundogan? Does he has offers from United and Madrid for this window?

Any further progress with a bid for Vidal either? Thanks

alt

{Ed002's Note - I would expect Gundogan will move to Real Madrid in the summer. There is no change from what I have explained about Vidal.}

Three questions if you don't mind Ed;

1) Has there been any developments between us and Matic? Read a few reports about a January deal being quite likely, pecially if Benfica don't make the next stage of the CL.

2) Is our interest in Everton Riberio genuine? Seems we have had discussions with his agent and we are looking to finalise a deal soon.

3) Bit of an odd one but I've heard it from a few people, are we interested in Pogba?

alt

{Ed002's Note - (a) Dortmund, Real Madrid, Napoli, and Chelsea are interested in Matic - but not at the given fee. Manchester United have had the player watched on several occasions but would likely baulk at the fee being asked. A move in January is possible as Benfica are looking for some income - but be clear it is possible not probable. I suspect Dortmund if something were to happen in January. (b) I am not so sure Ribeiro is a viable target in the short-term. (c) They were teasing you.}

Ed, do you know if our interest in Ryan Gauld and John Souttar is genuine? If so, can you see us bidding for them in January?

alt

{Ed002's Note - They are just kids. Even if they arrived in January you are looking a number of years before they would be near the first team. Additionally, I know nothing of the kids and the Court Order should see that situation remains unchanged.}

1.) Ronaldo was just a kid, not turned to bad as he

Ed, is there any update at all in regards to our LB situation? The summer showed that we are looking to sign one, but with Coentrao signing a new contract, although you said a further attempt for Baines is unlikely, do you think this could change now? Personally, I hope we don't and look elsewhere. Do you know of any other LB's we are targeting? Alex Sandro would be a good shout. {Ed002's Note - There was interest in Coentrao. As I have explained, that will now have changed. We will need to wait to see if the club look elsewhere now or wait until January.}

alt

1.) Alberto Moreno of Sevilla would be a good shout.

Bit of a random question here Ed, but can you see Messi leaving Barca any time soon (next year or two perhaps)? Heard murmurings that it's not quite as rosy as it once was at Barca for him.? {Ed002's Note - I think it very unlikely.}

alt

1.) Cant see that ever happening but I would imagine if he was to come to England united would be the ideal place

2.) More money will make everything alright.

Ed, I've read an article today listing the following as potential departures in January; Rio, Evra, Welbeck, Cleverley, Young, Nani, Zaha, Anderson, Kagawa and Hernandez.

Obviously all ten won't leave, but who do you think realistically could?

alt

1.) The only players I can realistically see leaving in January are young and anderson

2.) I could see Rio leaving for the MLS, plus Anderson, Evra and Young 'cos they're not good enough.

I wouldn't be surprised to Hernandez leave for more 1st team football and I'd like to see Nani go but he new 5 year deal makes me doubt he will.

I also think Cleverley will stay although I'd like to see him move and replaced with someone better.

Kagawa is the big question mark but I wouldn't be surprised if Rooney moved in the summer and that would open up a spot in the team for Kagawa

3.) It's nonsense. Why would we get rid of 10 players when we're unlikely to sign even one?

Also, don't expect the clearout to be as big as this - in reality, this summer, I could see:

- Evra going to France
- Rio retiring
- Nani and/or Young being sold
- Kagawa going back to Dortmund
- Jobbers like Macheda and Bebe being cut loose - on free transfers if need be.

4.) Alt

Sorry mate, didn't read your post properly, you agree that all 10 won't be leaving.

To add - Cleverly and Welbeck will be at OT for years to come. but we can only hope this is strictly as squad players/substitutes.

Hernandez is a likely one to leave at some point, Anderson - not sure. Nobody will pay what we want for him. I can see a scenario where he's given another contract and we're told he's going to 'come good' this time.

5.) Evra, Rio and Giggs will all be gone come summer, throw in Fletcher as well.

Nani I think only got the contract to up the asking price.

Young and Anderson, well if we get money for them in January it will be the biggest mugging in the January sales after Primani.

6.) Wasn't Giggs given a new contract?

7.) Yeah, then Moyes can go and buy heitnga and jelavic! And probably pay £80m for them.

8.) Ive just got this really bad feeling about Steven Pienaar.

I can see it now, Moyes claiming that SAF was interested in Pienaar in the past so it's proof he's a Utd-calibre player.

Coming up to Carrington as in joining the academy?

Any names Ed? So many flung about on a daily basis, hard to know what's even got a slight element of truth in it. {Ed002's Note - I would think that any further attempt for Baines is unlikely - and the club may look to Coentrao again at some point. Don't discount Herrera. If you want a wildcard for January, right now don't discount an offer for Konoplyanka if others move for him.}

Ed, are you able to copy and paste what you said about the Reus release clause anyway? Can't find it and would just like to see what you said about it. {Ed002's Note - I really don't want to getting people in to thinking it is of any relevance.}

Quite an interesting scenario with the defence as if both Rio and Vidic leave at the end of the season (which looks quite likely), we'll be left with a relatively inexperienced defence. Whilst Evans has done well, he's 26 in January and has yet to really nail down his place in the team. Jones and Smalling have done well at times but I don't think either has shown enough to suggest they will be first choice anytime soon.

Couple of things Ed, can you see any other central defenders other than Vidic / Rio leaving anytime soon? Perhaps because they haven't progressed as we thought they would.

Secondly, we had interest in Garay but that looks to have waned which you confirmed a while back after the quotes from him came out. What CB's are we interested in now? Subotic perhaps? Read a few reports about Zouma but I can't imagine him being thrust straight into the first team (plus very young).

Thanks {Ed002's Note - I don't see Smalling or Jones moving on this year. I don't see Subotic or Zouma but I would not discount returning for Garay.}

1. Garay, Strootman and Thiago?
2. Not really, Moyes still knows regardless of a few good results, we still need quality adding to the team.
3. Top 4 without question, large amount of money to miss out on otherwise.
4. I don't think so, we just need to be better prepared and carry out business earlier.
5. Yes.
6. In the short term Rio, Vidic and Evra need replacing. In the not to distant future, I'd say that Carrick also does, preferably sooner rather than later as although he's been great for us, we need legs in the middle. 3 or 4 quality signings over the next two windows should sort the first team out as currently, I don't think Moyes has a clue what his best #11 is. We have too many players who have a good game or two, then play awful. We need consistency.

Would take Coentrao over Baines every day of the week. Whilst Baines has been fantastic for Everton, due to the age and price difference, Coentrao would make a lot more sense.

Ed, you mentioned Konoplyanka as a potential wild card and that we still have interest in Gaitan so it's obvious we are targeting a left sided midfielder, do you know of any interest in any other LW players? {Ed002's Note - Not right now.}
