I have read that we have arranged a press conference for Saturday evening. Possible Vidal announcement! Keep your fingers cross

king of desert

1.) Probably about the share sale odd to have it right before a game

2.) Probably just woodwoodwood telling us about another great sponsorship deal with a Peruvian llama farm!

3.) Yeah it could be about share prices and selling. Vidal has undergone third party medical and utd is happy with it. Around £40 bit would be enough to get our man

4.) Since when have a club announced a signing at a press conference? They usually just release a statement and some pics.

5.) I heard DM has been hired as a janitor

6.) Diego Maradona?

7.) I'd expected a big signing to be made just before the shares go on offer to maximize their value.

8.) Red seven, if they did that, they would be undervaluing them. Good for existing shareholders and new buyers, bad for the Glazers and overall business model (a bit like the Royal Mail fiasco. but this time, the only people who will benefit is the seller of the shares; The Glazers).

If they wanted more money, they'd raise the share price first (by announcing Vidal for example) and sell at a higher price. If enough people take them up, they'd be laughing.
I can't see there being a lack of uptake for the new shares also (from a business PoV) with the new sponsorships announced and LvG in place.

If they did the offering before Vidal (for example), that would be a very noble step for everyone involved.

9.) SB, what type of "offering" are you implying has been made? I have not researched the offering but i'm not sure what your referring to in the shares being undervalued?

The first question to ask is whether the Glazers are increasing the supply of shares in circulation or whether they selling their own shares?

Its bad for existing shareholders if "new shares" are being created. It dilutes the value of the current shares in circulation.

If the Glazers are selling a portion of their own share in the club, it does not make a lot of difference to existing shareholders, - The only thing that will push the stock price up is increasing demand. There is no reason for that to happen at present. The demand for shares that may have come from LVG's arrival and new aquisitions will already be factored into the share price.

I think you are suggesting a fixed price has been set for shares offered? There are many different types of public offerings a company can make. I have not looked into the terms of the offering made here, but generally the function of a financial market is to allow the public and investors to determine the price a company or asset is worth, which, should the Glazers find acceptable, will then result in the sale of the stock.

Assuming the shares have been "floated, " rather than set at a fixed price, I find Redseven's point interesting.

At the present moment, sentiment will be more significant than the 40 odd million that comes off the balance sheet from a "Vidal" like signature.

If United are capable of challenging for the league title, and possibly the champions league, future returns will be much greater than if we were to simply return to the top 4.

The question really is, - will investors believe the signature of Vidal is enough for United to return to the top? I actually think it may do.

A show of attracting a 1st class player, and the plugging of a problem area with one of the worlds best midfielders will make United a much greater threat to the worlds top teams in my opinion. I think a major signing in midfield would result in the value of Manchester United increasing.

Kroos story is picking up to transfer in this window. He doesn't want to play for Chelsea. I hope it is true.

Please let this be true!

I think Cabaye said a year ago that he would love to play for united.

Good player and will suit us

The only player that I am scared off in the city side is Yaya Toure. If we will control him results will be good. I am very bad with predictions this season so I am not going to say anything about scoreline. Just want us to put up a good show and win it.

king of desert

1.) Aguero IMO is the best striker in the world. I am glad he's injured tonight.

2.) For me we need to flood midfield, don't give Yaya room and use what pace we have. My bet would be Welbeck running in from our left because they push their fullbacks up, if he can get to the centre backs even Kompany is not blessed with high pace. Midfield centrally is the vital area. Funny but I fancy Rooney to score as he often goes on scoring bursts.

3.) Sabre Tooth Suarez is a better striker than Aguero in my opinion, though there is not much in it. They are both top top players.

4.) Aguero is one of the best player, but I was referring the team that is playing this evening

5.) Sorry, that was a little off topic from the OP. Didn't mean to hijack the thread.

6.) Well looks like we are going with a midfield three. Interesting to see how Ferdinand and jones do.

I thought Vidic was available and only banned for one game but maybe I am wrong.

7.) Red Man .'often'??

8.) Puzzled

Often enough to be one of our all time top scorers. He tends to score in batches and you must be hoping I am right.

Well my last little hope to finish in top 4 has gone now. I just now hope that glazers should think of getting a new manager sooner than latter. We need good players and a decent manger for the next season. I want any one of the following to manage us:

Klopp
Vitor Pereira
Frank De Boer

king of desert

1.) I would take graham the turnip taylor at the moment over this fool

2.) If the club are thinking of parting ways with moyes, then I'm sure they're sounding out prospective targets now.
They should take their time and get this decision right. Klopp and van gaal are the obvious ones but their could be others that might materialise between now and the summer.
Like every united fan, I hated the way we were torn apart. But did we help ourselves by playing mata wide. Did we help ourselves by buying fellaini when clearly he's totally not united quality.
The fans were absolutely brilliant and they deserve better from the manager and the players. We need the players to stand up and be counted. If they disagree with the manager's tactics, then they should not be scared to voice their opinion IN PRIVATE to him. We need to be a cohesive force again and all the players winging to the press about playing out of position etc must stop. Sort yourselves out in private boys and start behaving like Manchester United players

3.) I think he will get another season, unless come November we have not improved. Moyes will get his summer spend. Luckily for us he does want the best players. I had nightmares that we would sign Naismith to replace Van Persie and Osman for midfield :)

4.) The players and manager should stand up and be counted, but unfortunately they aren't capable. I've never seen the players look so dejected. They don't like Moyes early and have no faith in him. He has to go, he's lost the dressing room, the fans and the board must be wavering. I think the only reason he is still here is SAF, Moyes is his chosen one and it looks bad on him.

5.) Like Sydney I think Moyes will get another season to rebuild, or at least start it. However the fact that he wants the best players may not be enough. What is really needed now is a cohesive and effective tactical plan that the players can buy in to. It was hard to discern any real plan yesterday, other than pick good players and hope that it all works. If we buy 4 world class players in the Summer we won't have a good team unless they know what they are supposed to be doing.
Time for a real think about whether Rooney and RVP can be effective together, not much sign of it yet.

6.) Cant see the point of giving him a stack of money to spend and then getting rid, I believe depending on results during the next 10 days he will be gone in the summer.can we trust him with the money after his panic buy of fellaini? and would the players he buys be wanted by any new manager potentially coming in.yesterday was a low point for me, after the 1st 2 or 3 defeats this season the shock of it happening wore off and now i'm half expecting it, but yesterday against our supposed biggest game of the season we showed no passion, no pride and no idea on the pitch.we had no plan b and i'm not sure if moyes had a plan a, to leave it till 15 minutes from time 2-0 down to make your 1st change is baffelling, the fans were fantastic yesterday especially the last 15 minutes but that's a utd front for the team everyone around my seat is totally peed off with moyes but so far the vast majority haven't made that vocal in the ground.lose on weds and then next tuesday and that could easily change.

7.) Hey Sydney is this the same naismith and osman in the Everton team who are above you in the league and prob finish above you at end of season

Three of our defenders know that this is their last season with united.
Rio, Vidic and Evra so why they should work extra hard when they know the manager is clueless.

Jones and Evans are injury prone. Smalling doesn't know whether he will play the next game or not. Rafael has lost his confidence and his quality is also deteriorating. On top of it the manager is giving his team any confidence at least on pitch this is what we can see.

Our manager tatics are defensive. I said it yesterday that best manager performs well under pressure. Moyes instead of accepting the defeat and accepting that his tactics were not right gave excuses.

Moyes, you are the captain of the ship and you are responsible. Behave like a leader and accept the defeat with grace and say that I have used wrong tactics and we will improve in the next game. And improvement must be shown on the pitch. Instead he is saying that we were unlucky, we should have won, referees gave decisions against us and so on.

Can you guys remember when did we score 4 or more goals in PL.Well I can remember that it was our first match (I am not too sure on it) of this season.

So we are not scoring and we are not defending and it makes us Hodge Podge. There as so many coaches and what are they doing? Giggs and Philip what are they doing? I have to blame Vidic/Evra as a captain as well. Why they are not leading the team? Maybe because they are leaving so appoint another captain.

Do something different Moyes. Don't be afraid of losing the game as we are loosing anyway. Try differently, tell the players to play freely. Why not ask SAF to come and give them a lecture/ inspiring speech?

The only good thing happened yesterday was LFC didn't win so we are 7 points behind. There are 14 games left at least we have to win 11 of these to get top4. We have to win against LFC, Everton and Arsenal. With city if we get one point then it is acceptable.

I am hoping whatever has happened till now was worst and this new day will bring good things and hope someone take responsibility and lead us from front.

Our team and club need us so we will support our club even though with tears in eyes.

Hope City wins today or best draw. We need two teams to drop points out of top 4. My bet is on LFC and Chelsea. Though a lot depend on Ars vs LFC game.

Good luck and I know we will win against Fulhum. But I want our team to score 4 or 5 so they will have some confidence. Most of our matches that we won were not comprehensive.

king of desert

1.) King can't see Chelsea dropping out of top 4 as long as Mourinho is incharge.

Our only hope is us beating Liverpool at OT and hoping the games Liv, Spurs, Everton play among themselves end in draws and the big teams beat them.

2.) I believe the bottom half of the table at hem will shock many of the top team from here till the end of the season.

The league is very competitive and no one is safe when they play on the road. We need some ugly wins no matter how on the road an deed to win all our remaining home games, including City.

3.) I can see City winning 3.1 tonight, perhaps even 4.1 or 5.1 with Aguero. I suspect Jose will try and play some 19th century football, but City are too good for Chelsea.

4.) Totally agreed Sydney GCU.

I believe the bottom half teams are very close so they all will work hard to avoid relegation. Westham showed against Chelsea. But then we are under threat as well.

Mumbai boy, If City wins today then Chelsea and LFC are our closest teams to catch. Arsenal performance depends how they will perform against Bayern. If they beat bayern and mind you they can (in one leg) then they can lift themselves.

I just feel the Chelsea will face this irony of handing us Mata most probably in this season. May be we get top 4 at the expense of Chelsea.

I am going through so much in my life and the little joy which I want to get is to see my team play well and try to win. Today I have literally cried. Just can't see the pain again and again. Each and every time same stupid comments of being unlucky are used. I will accept the unlucky tag, had we played well and then lost. I would say even Paul lambert is a better manager. Even Gus Poyet is a better manager. The way Villa played against LFC away, they were very unlucky not to have won. Yeah Villa were unlucky because they played well and couldn’t win. I don't get this phrase we need to sign top class, world class players. I mean Stoke had world class players, Westbrom had world class players, Sunderland had world class players, Newcastle had world class players. All these teams played for their manager and for club and they have beaten us.

I think we need a world class manager someone who can lift our team. One who can make world class players, one who can trust his players. He didn't trust Zaha for whatever reason but he showed him yesterday. I don’t think even Vidal and Kroos in our team can save us. I simply cannot believe this excuse of transition period and adding 4 or 5 players new in the team will not be good. Navas, Fernandinho, Negredo and Jovetic joined this year. Man city and Chelsea have new managers as well. Barca, Realmadrid, Bayern Munic, PSG all have new managers.

I know Moyes is a nice and honest person but not someone who can perform under pressure. At everton he had no pressure. There was no expectation from him. There is only pressure when you are fighting for top 4 spot or either trying to avoid relegation.

I am not saying that we are Manchester United so we have to win every match. But at least show the courage bravery, and dedication. I can’t see desire to fight for the pride of club. I am so disappointed and have no words really…

When you are down and out, when you are feeling low, when you are in dark then a small hope can lit your life. Today I can’t see even that small hope. But then a small desire, a small hope can lit our life.

If Westbrom beats LFC today then the gap will be still 6 points. I just hope and pray that LFC will not win otherwise bye bye Moyes!

king of desert

1.) King

Excellent post

There does not seem to be any belief in Moyes philosophy or style of play.

This is the Dave Sexton era all over again

2.) We HAVE a style of play?
The Headless Chicken? ;)

3.) King, no offence mate, but you need to reevaluate your priorities in life. There are much, much more important things, than a football club, or a game of football.

And Red Man, I thought you were more adult than that. Encouraging this sort of sentamentalism just because he goes along with your view on things, is beneath you.

4.) And I didn't mean that to sound harsh, King. But if you have so much of your life focused on football, instead of the important things like family and friends, well, that's when you see people doing silly things, over the result of a football match.

How much loyalty fee do you reckon he will sacrifice?

Welbeck can only score when he has no time to make decision. He can score good goals with instant reaction otherwise he will hush of it. Great chance but lost it. Hope we can score
