If Jose goes on and has a ‘mourinho season’ like his last one at chelsea and the club and him part ways.

Would anyone like to see antonio conte as his successor?

That's a no from me, mate. I think they're two sides of the same coin, personally.

15 Jul 2018 17:44:39
Let's hope pogba can carry on this form next season.

Pogba been twice the player in the World Cup than at United. Top class player in there, just shackled under Jose' shite system, like many others. We won't see the best of him or others such as martial while he's in charge. I'd rather he went than Pogba and martial.

I wouldn't call the system any better than Mourinho's, he just had players like kante and matuidi around him to give him the freedom to play.

I agree though, Mourinho's negativity does stifle him.

15 Jul 2018 18:47:18
Amen Stand, apparently that makes us toxic.

15 Jul 2018 18:59:54
That's the kind of toxicity I can proudly identify with, but would rather JM changed and they all stayed.
But then I always an idealistic dreamer.

15 Jul 2018 21:05:58
He was playing In the same position in the same system with better players or ' players that compliment him better '
I didn't really see Any difference in his play apart from he was more defensively aware. I didn't see Amy difference in his possession in gis passing or in yards coveted per game. The stats bare that out but he has runners off him at full back and in midfield Enoch he doesn't at United.
Pogba was the same as always those around him were better and helped him be more effective.

15 Jul 2018 21:09:21
Agree Ken, performances similar as at United, Just cz France won it don’t make him the star.

16 Jul 2018 18:56:51
Defensively looked a different player .
Desire wise looked a different player .
Hasn't been happy a United for a while no surprise he is looking to leave.

16 Jul 2018 21:18:46
Its pretty clear the club are looking to sell him. He is also happy to move on according to ed002.
Hope it doesn't turn into an inevitable saga.
Best news of the sharkpod for me was the targeting of kroos.
I couldn't care less about any player we sell. i'm only interested in those starting and those coming in.
The club actively looking to sell blind darmian smalling shaw martial and pogba on top of carrick ibra and miki from last season. While i would prefer a couple of those stay and a couple of others had left its been obvious to most the squad has glaring deficiencies. Roll on next season.

16 Jul 2018 23:50:53
I'd look good playing confront of kante and matuidi and that's saying something.

17 Jul 2018 07:46:50
He looked decent at juve as well .
Very good player was hailed as world Class when we bought him.
I got it on the me k a few month ago when I said don't be surprised to see him leave in the summer .
No surprise to see how quick people's opinions change after 02 comments .
Always the same players linked with going become average everyone we are linked to becomes world class.

17 Jul 2018 07:48:14
Ken the club would like to keep a few .
You keep banging the drum but it's always the wrong tune.
As always let's see what actually happens as opposed to every bit of gossip u read.

Mr Souness, on Bein Sports, is adamant that Jose needs to unleash Pogba's 'athelticism', never talks about anything else in regards to his game, technique skill etc.

15 Jul 2018 16:20:51

Usual lazy punditry from souness but plenty of others do it, don't understand why people watch the punditry coverage. Seems like a waste of a couple of hours.

15 Jul 2018 16:40:07

Same here DSG, seen a clip of it on twitter mind. Like they lack basic knowledge, despite being ex players and managers. Also, Perisic' goal was a delight.

15 Jul 2018 17:30:10
That Pogba lad looks good, would love a player like him at the club.

15 Jul 2018 14:34:10
Can't help wondering if fellipe Anderson at 35m may have been worth looking at especially as he could have played on the wing or centrally. To play wide right we are being linked with perisic willian and bale who would cost 50m+, 70m+ and 80m+ none of whom would have any resale value due to their age. Imo 35m for a 23 yr old would have been better business then any of the above 3.

If we went in for him the price would have been a lot over what west ham paid.

Then you would have posted that we paid over the odds for him m.

15 Jul 2018 16:46:43
He’s 35m and gone to West Ham - surely that answers your question!

15 Jul 2018 21:28:54
Payet went there, and he was pretty decent. Mahrez and Kanté going to Leicester. The EPL is full of good players who started off at so-called smaller clubs. Sometimes the bigger clubs aren't willing to take the risk, and this gives the player a chance to get a foothold in the EPL, and show what he's capable of. I wouldn't write someone off just because they went to West Ham. A lot of money floating around all the clubs in the EPL, now.

The World Cup looks to to have helped a few of our players. Lindelof had a very good tournament, which should help him grow in confidence. Pogba also has grown in his maturity. He has played very well, defensively as well as creating many chances. Lukaku also seems to have grown as a player. Henry's guidance has seemed to help him in his movement and decision-making, and his natural leadership ability has become more evident.

What this world cup has shown is we have many very good players that if played in the right way can be very effective. We have seen the level they can play too.

If they don't for us this season we need to ask the seriously question why? Do they lack motivation? Does the tactics get the best out of them? Do they feel happy? Is Mourinho able to get the best out of them? If not why?

14 Jul 2018 15:03:26
The worlcup has been poor. You can't use the worldcup as a benchmark for players to perform.

14 Jul 2018 15:05:59
Of course Lukaku’s improvement over the last 12 months has nothing to do with Jose and his coaching team.

14 Jul 2018 16:46:45
I think we can all agree Lukaku is playing for goals, doesn't do too much else. So yeah thanks for bringing him on Jose

14/ 15 Everton - 10 goals
15/ 16 Everton - 18 goals
16/ 17 Everton - 25 goals

Good progression shown at Everton, we see regression:

17/ 18 Man Utd - 16 goals.

14 Jul 2018 21:41:52
Nothing like working statistics to tell a story.

14 Jul 2018 23:14:39
Eric79, let's see if I can play this game too .

14/ 15 Everton - 5 assists
15/ 16 Everton - 5 assists
16/ 17 Everton - 6 assists
17/ 18 - United - 7 assists

His assists have gone up since he came to us! He's clearly working on adding that to his game and not just playing for goals. Jose has helped him in this regard.

15 Jul 2018 11:58:34
hmm you don't see 9 goals less than the previous season for a truly awful Everton, side as not being a decline in goal scoring form?

Some of you will argue black is white if it means keeping your head in la la land. He has done ok, but his goals have not improved under Jose. FACT!

I know one of the Scouse lads wrote a subjective view on England but here's mine anyway . I bear in mind England got further than expected but nones the less came up short against the better teams Belgium and Croatia .
Pickford, I wasn't a fan of his distribution which was a big reason he was selected, but I like him as a shot stopper and he's looked one of the better keepers in the tournament .
Trippier, one of England's best performers, however the second half v Croatia showed to me why a back 3 duznt work as when the opposition are decent and play 433 the wingbacks are forced back and it ends up 5 at the back.
Walker, an English player I thought was one of the best in the world, but not as a cb, wasted to me playing there he's a gifted WB or FB .
Stones, looks classy I'd stick with him however is well capable of a lapse
Maguire, rivals trippier for England's best performer, makes the most of what he has .
Young, united fans have a point he's actually better at defending than pushing forward, one footed and has to constantly cut in because of this .
Henderson, I can't help but like him but struggled with Croatia's midfield not helped much by his partners maybe horses for courses and someone to help him stem the flow would have helped.
Ali, really disappointing was lucky to keep his place .
Lingaard, looks a handful sometimes and non existent other times .
Kane, hard to sum up, good goals record but I always think a bit overated lots of penaltys and the odd fluke but he disappeared when we needed him
Stirling, the opposite of kane, he's involved in everything but has no composure, looks a handful but stats don't back that up.

Awww England. That game proved a real dilemma. My heart feels heavy that they lost. Fortunately, my wallet feels even heavier 😁 Good effort, though. Experience usually tells in the end, but plenty to give them hope for the next few years.

Gutting for England but life goes on we have lost to anyone half decent and beat teams worse than us, we can't ignore we beat nobody of note very often in world cups and a kind draw seen us get to the semis, I can remember one win against the argies in the last 20 odd year against a top rated nation I've no clue why . Just when we think some England players are top draw including some of our own players you get a reality check as to where they really stand .

Agree1 Disagree1

11 Jul 2018 21:42:21
I did say we will struggle against Croatia and get knocked out and France will win the world cup.

Dont be upset guys this team is too young, i reckon in the euros and the next world cup we will definitely be contenders to win the world cup or Euros.
