Rashford doesn’t like passing to Hojlund does he?

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Apr 2024 17:45:40
Because he does nothing with it.

07 Apr 2024 18:06:24
The only way that Hoiland will get service from the Mancunian Mother Theresa/ Rashford is if he joins his free food programme.

07 Apr 2024 16:31:52
Bruno has already proven his critics right again.

Berating the ref at every opportunity for 2 or 3 minutes early in the game because a decision didn't go his way, loose passing, stupid attempts at passing when the simple option would always be best, demanding the ball without actually showing for it - same old.

He, along with Casemiro, should be bringing the midfield discipline we so sorely lack - Liverpool are jazz-handing their way through us.

My thoughts about Bruno are the same. Certainly not captain material and his childish tantrums are a pain to watch.

08 Apr 2024 00:23:45
How many minutes after this post did he score from 50 yards? Can’t be more than 10.

08 Apr 2024 12:18:40
Bruno does a lot of running, but without direction and will score occasional great goals but is the team better if they play as a team rather than get out of shape because of one headless chicken. I saw a lot of running from Bruno but he gets out of position and our shape is affected. As a Captain, poor. Lot of arm waving when we don’t get a decision whilst at the same time the opposition have taken it and are up the field running at our defence. ETH doesn’t seem to see it.

07 Apr 2024 14:58:11
Score draw for me today. I'd stick mount into the team for a bit of energy. Wouldn't be starting rashford. Hopefully he proves me wrong.

Time will tell but Casemero playing will cost us, ld have played Mount, but time will tell, c'mon United.

I am looking forward to seeing Kambwala start today, thought he has played well in the short time he has had. Will be good to get a view how he deals with such a big game.
Similarly hoping that we get to see some minutes for Amass, everything I have read suggests he has a bright future.
I already have an eye on next season (maybe incorrectly if we go on a run) so let's see what these players can do.

He has a really good game considering the circumstances and opposition.

06 Apr 2024 14:57:26
The future looks good people.

Our U18s have just spanked the Scousers 9-1. Yes, that's 9-1.

I've already seen the desperate and lazy excuses about how Storm Kathleen was perhaps the deciding factor of the match - weird because I always thought the U18s also switch halves after the interval, even more weird considering they were at home.
4 goals conceded in the first half, 5 in the second.
Also, the defenders weren't first-choice because they're with the U21s - so are ours half the time.
Desperate, lazy, basic af excuses.

Anyway, we might lose tomorrow so I'm just grabbing at what I can.

The word shambles, now twinned with our team.

28 shots conceded against a team noted to be struggling up front, four goals and before the game who was the one player we needed to watch more than any other? Palmer. So with 10 minutes of injury time played who did we stand and watch receiving a short corner at the edge of the box, whilst one or two stood looking anywhere but where it mattered, waving arms about with out meaning. Shambles.

It started as a shambles, the first goal should have seen Onana do better, the second you wonder what Antony was thinking. Antony who had probably his best game for us, actually ran forward with conviction and a little pace. So two nil down we actually look a team. We score three go in the lead.

What do we need against a team that looked fragile at the back and one main treat? Rashford of course, the manager takes off Hojland and Garnacho, two real workers and brings on Rashford. Rashford would not have needed his kit cleaning, no sweat, no effort. It meant Chelsea were no longer under threat at the back, gained confidence as we conceded ground and got back into it. Playing with 10 men is never easy, but it must absolutely gall the other players to watch one swan around, the one who no doubt has the best car in the car park. Someone said we had no one else, no one else, I would have put anyone up there who would run and close for the team, Bruno runs around let him do it, not Mr Phlegmatic Rashford. Three two up, pack midfield, organise your lines make sure the captain is organising on the pitch, the word concentrate shouted at you, positioning is key.

None of it happened.

The captain is not a captain, but has to play yet doesn't organise. That last minute corner amply demonstrated it. We have a bunch of disorganised players, who it appears have never been educated on a football pitch on tactics and awareness. Two years of a Dutch coach have seen nothing in tactical awareness, the choice of captain hopeless. Substituting Rashford on the pitch and removing two runners, hopeless.

Make no mistake, the players were unprofessional, thoughtless, clueless as they have been too often, but the manager putting on someone who has his head elsewhere, then not making sure these players know what they are supposed to do is a shambles. What does training consist of each week?

We can replace players, the manager has, but are any of the ones coming in any more tactically aware, no. We rely on Garnacho, Mainoo and One or two others, whilst allowing one to do nothing. That sets a bad example and I will blame ETH in part for last night, he coaches the team, makes the subs and brings Rash on, won't take Bruno off, but the players also should take responsibility for getting their positions right and keeping there eye on the pitch. Amateurs would not have conceded from that short corner.

Shambles, coaching to players, to player purchasing.

So many questions and irritations after last night. But the one I can’t shake is why McT is constantly a late sub rather than Amrabat. I get that he’s not set the world on fire, But. Time for a change of tactics when it comes to end of game management when winning.

As an aside. Fair play to Antony. Superb last night. Where has that pace come from? I hope it lasts.

As a further aside. Rashford. Just go. Anywhere.

Amrabat doesn't really offer anything unfortunately. He isn't mobile/ quick enough to do the defensive work in midfield, he has been slow on the ball when he has played, which haa limited his ability to progress the ball forward with any conviction, and he offers nothing in the final third in terms of goal threat.

McTominay might not have the defensive reading of the game, but he's a hard worker who adds energy and physicality, is able to be an aerial threat in both boxes and has a habit of scoring clutch goals this season.

While I don't think he is ultimately good enough for the level we want to be at, he is probably the best midfield option we have off the bench both in terms of adding energy and physicality, and as a goal scoring threat. His ideal role is coming on for the last 20 minutes of games.

Long term we need better than him, but he is probably the best we have available right now.

05 Apr 2024 11:43:29
Shappy

Who pushed to get Amrabat in?

05 Apr 2024 12:46:57
A hard worker that constantly fouls players, gives the ball away and can't control the ball. Absolute shocking player which basically tells me that he isn't the ideal player to come on in the last 20 minutes.

Cue a tsunami of posts about how the players and the managers have to go.

We had the years of bore draws with LVG, Jose, Ole etc.

You wanted to be entertained! Was that not entertaining enough!

Yes they lost, but they fought back from 2-0 down to be lead with seconds to go.

To say there isn't fight etc, which is what will be said, is simply false.

A freshen up in the summer and that result goes out way.

Always look on the brighter side of life folks.

Otherwise life will consume you.

Stay safe 😁.

Any team can be entertaining if they play with no tactics, we will win half our games and lose half our games if we just go out and do that, as per the whole of ETH’s reign if we try and defend in a game we can’t attack and if we try and attack we can’t defend, we can never do both.

Enjoyable game, the tactics of a top manager / team can’t be to just play basketball and just hope you win on the flip of a coin and score some chances, we at no point controlled the game, I’d rather see us play like that than Saturday but both are a shambles.

Millionaire bottle jobs.

05 Apr 2024 09:36:37
I'm definitely entertained, I've not stopped laughing. Man Utd are being coached by Coco the clown with tactics courtesy of Charlie Chaplin.

05 Apr 2024 10:07:19
Bang on mancman.

I'm not saying we played well, but we did a great job to turn a 2-0 deficit into a 3-2 lead.

Yet sometimes the universe just seems against you.

Chelsea had more than a shade of luck for every single one of their goals tonight.

The first took a massive deflection to fall at the feet of Gallagher, if it didn't then that goal doesn't happen.

The second goal probably was just about a penalty, but it was a little soft, and I've seen stronger penalty appeals waved away.

Their third was never in a million years a penalty, Dalot fell over, and hardly made contact. That would never be awarded to an away team.

The final goal was just salt in the wound. Clearly the United players were in shock and frustrated at the in justice. They switched off which isn't acceptable, although understandable. Yet even so Palmer's shot was heading straight at Onana before it took a massive deflection.

Four goals from two soft penalties and two big deflections. If it wasn't for bad luck we'd have no luck at all.

Ultimately football is a results business, but I feel robbed tonight. The players need to be better but they had done enough to get the result in that game, and bad luck has robbed us. Unfortunately the media will jump on this and the sack the manager whispers will become louder.

I'm just sick and tired of this bull season. Ridiculous injuries, ridiculous decisions and nothing but bad luck.

Chelsea had 28 shots, of course they did, a team that was in 12th and has looked awful all season had 28 shots against us, we deserved nothing and got nothing in my opinion.

05 Apr 2024 02:12:26
If’s but’s and maybe’s don’t win games. Goals, deflected or not, do!

Dalot didn't fall. Watch the replay. He tripped himself up on the players foot which was the first contact and then fell into the player. Whether you like it or not it was a penalty, soft or not.

Regardless of that. These things go either way. We have had our fair share of dodgy penalties and deflected goals. It’s part of the game.

Fact is we are rubbish. We don’t have the staff on or off the park. The much mentioned rebuild will take years and years so buckle up people it’s going to be a long and hard ride.

05 Apr 2024 02:54:48
So only Chelsea’s were lucky? The first goal was a gift on a plate from Caicedo. 2nd goal Chelsea defence switch off completely leaving Badiashile to deal with a 2v1 at the back post. Run Anthony’s cross 100 times and I get you 99 of the other times they’re over hit or wayward. Tell me again how Chelsea were the only lucky side 😂.

05 Apr 2024 04:47:35
First pen was never a pen. No way.

Second pen was poor play from Dalot. Very poor. It was incredibly soft, but once that woeful ref gives it VAR is not overturning with the foot contact.

Crazy game. Poor season. Just waiting for it to end.

05 Apr 2024 08:41:25
when you are chasing a win and down early, you will have an open game. It was fun to watch till the last 2 minutes. No question about effort rate or players desire imo. just weird sh. t and mentally switching off, both pens can be given and not given imo. last night both were given. Was always going to have goals as both teams defensively concede goals on a regular basis.

05 Apr 2024 14:08:52
Ahmad,

So at 3-2 why were we open then? Or were we still chasing the game?

05 Apr 2024 15:15:27
Not to add the fact that the ref let the game go on until Chelsea won.
And Garnacho robbed of the MoTM award because palmer scored 2 undeserved penalties and a deflected goal in the 1 millionth added minute.

05 Apr 2024 22:29:53
You mean Fergie time? That period all United fans love? Swings and roundabouts.

06 Apr 2024 08:13:24
Giggs

I agree when we are were up 33-2 just sit in, keep possesion and if needed kick it away. Saw eth telling them to calm down and keep the ball and sit in. We had them pinned down the left hand side in their half with Bruno mount and Dalot in the 95th minute and keeping possession. The next 5 minutes were hard to explain and a comedy of individual errors.
