What a game yesterday and what a brilliant day! Just want to say how amazing it was to be there to see that game, i don't get to go very often so what a great game to go to!

Everyone played great yesterday but special mention to rashford obviously but also varela, memphis, Herrera and blind. Those 5 truly stood out for me, absolutely bossed that game!

Seeing rashford at 18 years of age play like that yesterday makes me really excited for the future with him and martial.

Like I said yesterday I had the great privilege of watching the game from my uncles box, not as much of an atmosphere as there is in the stands but amazing to have all the little perks. The win was made so much sweeter for having 2 Arsenal fans in there with us bragging about how they would win before the game, only to see the smiles wiped off their faces after! Priceless!

I really wanted to share what happened before the game kicked off. We were greeted by the legend that is Clayton Blackmore and I am honoured to have met him, he stayed with us for about half an hour chatting away about his playing time and his feelings about the club but he spent a lot of time speaking about the academy.
He told us that we have got some brilliant players in there but that the actual infrastructure is in tatters. We have got 160 scouts at the moment not doing very much by the sounds of it and the manager isn't really listening to some suggestions about youth players.
He did mention a couple of things about players which I really appreciated listening to. He said that he's surprised that roshaun williams isn't in the team because he's a brilliant player and really deserves to be in there. Fosu mensah is best played at right back and was suggested before van gaal promoted love. They all think very highly of Harrop and thought very highly of Pearson before he left. He told us that he would have preferred to play Riley last night as his speed would make a difference, he told us that he has seen time and time again Riley run the length of a pitch to get involved in an attack and sometimes that's what we need!
I also asked him about Angel Gomes and his response was "he's only 15, but he is definitely good enough to be out there tonight".
Hope you've enjoyed reading and hope you enjoy what Blackmore told us!
Cheers guys.

I can asure you brad in the stretford end it was amazing. Stand up proud support no matter what. #wewillneverdie.

2.) 29 Feb 2016 22:07:22
It sounded great but you just don't get the same feeling as you do when you're in the middle of the crowd with everyone. It's a bit awkward joining in the songs when you're in the box because you feel like you have to stay calm and polite!

In the box for today's game! Should be a great atmosphere even though I don't get to feel as much of a part of it up there! Really hoping for the 3 points today to keep us in the mix! Excited to see who starts today from the academy. Hey if we don't get the win there's always a fridge full of free beer to drown my sorrows! Have a great day everyone!

Watching united this season it's making me really think that as much as some may not agree there's only a few players who truly deserve to play for us. Smalling, blind, Jones, shaw, borthwick jackson, carrick, schweinsteiger, lingard, Januzaj, Rooney and martial are the only players who genuinely look like they want to play for the club rather than the wage. Football now days is going to pot.

I agree. But disagree with your list.

2.) 19 Feb 2016 14:48:00
The only players who played for the badge this season IMO are: De Gea, Shaw, Smalling, Lingard, Young and Martial. (Some arguments for Schweinsteiger or Rooney who have both looked like they want to do well but in reality have been poor) . The rest are either uninterested or being passengers in a very, very poor united team.

Hi everyone. Hoping this gets put on the banter site even though it is team related but I'm hoping to get peoples thoughts. My opinion is that we should sign a striker, ighalo for example, and play 442. We're not creating enough goals and I think that it could have something to do with the fact we only use one striker at the minute.
I also don't want martial to be used as a winger too much, so using 2 strikers would give us a chance to play him up top.
Sign lukaku and ighalo up as striking options and sign a player like draxler and I think we would be looking good.

Goals are an issue, but the fact that we are complete s**te at defending is probably a bigger issue. Any time we don't play with two sitting midfielders we look like we are danger of conceding buckets of goals. Even against Liverpool, we would have been easily beaten if it weren't for De Gea and their wastefulness in front of goal. The truth is that we need new players in multiple positions: central defenders who are actual central defenders and can last more than two games without an injury, cover at full back, more depth in cm so we can sell Fellaini, a rw with pace, and another striker.

When you look at our squad, it just isn't strong enough in any department aside from our keeper, we have been very wasteful in the transfer market over the last few seasons and we still have a massive rebuilding job.

2.) 19 Jan 2016 18:12:43
One for gds, we should play the Christmas pudding formation.

3.) 19 Jan 2016 22:27:49
We can't defend as we have no decent CBs. Spend on 2 class centre halves, preferably established class like Hummels and potentially the best English CB for some time in Stones and this team would start to look very different. It's incredulous that we didn't 2 centre halves LAST season let alone this. And that's just bad management. Maybe LVG though Rojos and Smalling could work? History shows he's wrong and the entire rest of our play suffers for it.

Hit the nail on the head there Danny. Couldn't agree more.

5.) 19 Jan 2016 22:55:23
Very good post Danny, agree with it all.

Hi all. Happy new year to everyone. Let's hope 2016 is a good one!
Just a quick question which isn't related to transfers, does anybody how luke shaws recovery is coming on? I'm sure I saw something in October saying he could be fit as soon as January but it doesn't seem this is the case. Tried looking on the internet but can't see anything. Just wondered if any of the eds or anyone more in the know than me could fill me in? Thanks guys.

Last info is that he will probably be back in training before the end of the season, but doubtful that he will have any part to play until next season.

2.) 01 Jan 2016 23:20:39
He's just returned from his holiday and he will continue with his rehab, it's unlikely he'll feature again this season.

3.) 02 Jan 2016 09:00:09
Would love to see him back this year but would sooner he get a full proper recovery and be ready to start next year as he did this.
Regardless the Euros should be a no go.

4.) 02 Jan 2016 12:05:23
I think we miss him massively don't think there's a coincidence that we played our best football early in the season with him at left back. He's injury has meant LVG juggling a back four and because of our small squad players have been playing out of position to cover for shaws injury. Can't wait for him to come back I think he is the key to getting the best out of Delay down that wing too.

5.) 02 Jan 2016 13:18:44
I agree it seems a bit desperate. Could end up being another nani and he's been poor this season apparently. Saw a stat that he's created something like 12 chances in 17 games which for a winger surely is very low.
Ed002 also said he may struggle to settle here. In all honesty I'm fine with lingard starting, he's surely back any time now and was playing really well it would be a shame for him to lose his spot.

If I had my way about what happens at this football club I would start by putting Woodward back into a marketing role. I'd then replace van gaal with poch. I'd make Joyce his number 2 and have giggs take over under 21s. I would then make the decision to have fosu mensah play in midfield rather than at the back.
I'd sell Fellaini and Valencia. I'd sign hummels, Sanches, draxler and Mahrez. And I'd give smalling the captaincy and promote roshaun!

1. I think de gea will stay. He signed a 5 year contract and Madrid don't seem as interested. Navas is doing a great job and they might be looking elsewhere for their big marquee signing.
2. The only way that lvg will leave is if he doesn't achieve the goals that were set for him. If we achieve what was asked of him by the board what reason do we have for sacking him when he's only got 1 year left anyway? The plan is for giggs to take over and I think it will stay that way.
3. Personally the players I would get rid of would be jones, Fellaini and Valencia. They're the players i wouldn't have the time for. If lvg is still in charge i can't see any of those leaving, however I can see Januzaj being kicked out of the club.
4. If it was me i would personally sign a top young CB maybe varane or Marquinhos? I'd sign shanches and alli. Then mahrez and Kane.

Laporte, pogba, Mahrez, zlatan. Then sign Sanches and dembele for the future. In a dream world.

I think there's 5 people I would love to manage the club. Jose, tuchel, simeone, ancelotti and poch. I can definitely see giggs getting it though, but maybe we could give it to Joyce as an outside chance? Under 21s always do well.

Why have you put question marks after every sentence? Also how can gotze catch your eye if he wasn't playing?
