Hi I was just wandering what any of the eds or other posters could tell me about Ricardo Rodriguez who plays left back for Wolfsburg. I have seen him play 2 or 3 times. And every game he has been outstanding. As he is only 21 I thought he would be a great signing with lots of potential. Thanks in advance :)

1.) Ed002, in your opinion then who are Chelsea more likely to go for? Shaw or Rodriguez? And if they get one, could we make a move for the other?

2.) For me, the most exciting young LB in Europe right now is Layvin Kurzawa of Monaco. Very attack minded, but his positioning is excellent and the defense side of his game can only get better. 1.8 tackles and 3.6 interceptions per game in ligue 1, plus 4 goals and 2 assists. not bad for 21 appearances.
3.) Ed002
is there anyone chelsea is not interested in lol:) Where do you see Shaw ending up in your opinion and which one is Chelsea's preferred choice?

Beast i hope your well mate, i looking through your last few posts and i noticed something very funny. Before Christmas people were giving you some greif and every post u put up would instantly get a load of dislikes ( i don't think the majority even read your posts first) and recently every post u put up has been the complete opposite everyone likes it. I know its silly but it did make me laugh. Are these same people that were calling u a troll etc now coming around to your way of thinking? It seems it only took a few games for Van Gaal to turn from a saint into the devil.
1.) Thanks Dellboy, it is horrible in a way because it was one thing I didn't mind being wrong on, but unfortunately rather than prove me wrong LVG keeps on doing what I suspected he would do.
Appreciate your pointing it out mate, hopefully those people that were just clicking disagree whenever they saw my name will maybe bother to read my posts a bit more now. Although I do appreciate I'm not always right, I have been about LVG so far unfortunately.

I think it shows more about the modern day fan that a team can win 6 in a row and not lose for a dozen or more games, then have the audacity to lose 1 game and people want him out.

This has changed since yesterday, when everyone overreacted to a defeat, it always happens when we lose a game, panic strikes and the world ends, things will get back to normal soon don't worry.
4.) I still think the manager will be a success, but he has to drop the 3 at the back system now. Yesterday's result could have been so much different if he had taken the breaks off and allowed the team to attack with purpose.

Good to see Pat stopped by to meet the lads and say goodbye properly. In his prime Evra was an amazing player and as he got older he became a weak link in defence (not the only one) but if there is something that he never has and never will lack and that's passion. His Character and personality will be a huge miss for us. Goodbye Pat and good luck in Italy :)

Welcome Ander Herrera! Great to see we have finally got a top class cm. If we can get 2 more signing in before the end of the window then I think we can look foreward to a very good season IMO. If anyone fancies a laigh go have a read on the liverpool page, the tables have turned, they may be stuck with Chewy Suarez for a few more months. A few months ago they were laughing at us. Anyway let's hope we can get the players in we need and start looking forward to next season :)

Has anyone seen guardiolas comments after the German cup final? He dismissed any suggestion that Robben could leave at the end of the season, saying he is a vital component to his squad.
He said in TMW: “Robben was probably the best striker of Bayern last season. has a world-class and I'm really happy to have him with me on the team. Sorry about the cut and paste. What do people think of those comments? Is he still a strong possibility?
1.) You should also read the comments robben and the club made 3 month ago when he signed his new contract.

2.) When it comes to multi-million pound deals like Robben of course you are going to say he is integral etc, saying anything other than that would A, lower moral, B, lower price.
He is world class and I couldn't blame BM for trying to keep him so I think they are telling the truth anyway. Just depends how much he pushes for a move and how much we are prepared to pay. I would love him to sign but if I were BM there is no way I would let him go, despite his age.
I could see us going for Schweinsteiger though.
3.) I think it is wise to take most comments with a pinch of salt as most of them are said with motive behind them.
4.) Schweinsteiger is like Gerrard one club man will never leave munich
5.) RD0690, couldn't you have used Giggs as an example? If it wasn't for SG parents house getting vandalised, he would have joined Chelsea.

So the end has finally come for one of the greatest players I have seen to hang up his boots. Goodbye Giggsy u brought sooo many great memories. Don't think we will ever see such a successful and loyal player again. Now let's hope u can help bring lots more success as our assistant manager. GIGGS. TEARING YOU APART SINCE 1991!
1.) Couldn't agree more. Who will get Giggs' number? Who will get the number 7 shirt this summer? A couple iconic numbers to fill, will Adnan get one of them?

2.) Ed - Mata won't change number so soon after signing.
We're still without a number 9 or a number 7 and 5 and 11 have just become vacant. I wouldn't be surprised if Evans relinquishes the number 6 shirt either given how little he plays!

4.) Giggsy, a true United legend. I must admit, his off-field antics really tainted my view of him as a man in recent years but his quality and commitment as a United player can never be questioned.
Loving the idea of a LVG/Giggs partnership and I have feeling the good times are going to return to OT next season. Cannot wait for some new signings and a fresh start.
5.) Agree with Andan 11 and Sanchez 7 definitely.

Evans played 25 times last season, I imagine that would have been a lot more if he hadn't got injured.
Rafael only played 28, might he give up his number too? Or is 26 the cut off?
I would imagine we will have 3, 5, 7, 8, 9 and 11 to fill.

5: new centre back (Hummels maybe)
7: New Attacking mid (Robben / Reus would be ideal)
8: new centre mid (Kroos, Fabregas etc)
9: Left vacant, maybe Wilson in 2 years
11: Januzaj

No not at all, I have had a total mind f*** there over Mata still thinking Anderson was number 8!
10.) Syd I would go with Adnan 11 and either Pedro/ Sanchez with the 7 shirt. I believe Adnan needs an iconic number 7/11. He is ready and I feel it will only give him more confidence and to grow as a player.

In my opinion Giggsy was the victim, it wasn't his fault he had women of questionable morals throwing themselves at him. I would have banged Imogen as well. :)

Beast, but the man who decides if a 49 year old is better than the young players is the 49 year old in this case. So that's not exactly true in this instance. I just don't think its right mate.

I do see where your coming from, its a fair point mate. But He is almost 50 years old, it isn't the highest level of football but i think he will just make himself look abit of a prat after 20 minutes. I commend his attitude but I would just prefer he stuck to managing the team to help them, and also gain himself experience as a manager instead of going backwards and blocking some of the really good academy players they have at the moment.

Maze you do realise Teddy is the manager, so i'm not quite sure he has to come out of retirement for the younger lads to work with him day in day out. As stevenage is close to my heart (i played for them from 16 years old until i tore my ACL 2 YEARS AGO) I agree with anon I find it rather pathetic he would feel the need to register himself as a player again, Lower league clubs rely on their youth players coming through the ranks a lot more than the 'bigger clubs' so i certainly see it as him blocking a youngsters path through to the first team.
