6 days to go!

On the 16th of June our Facebook page will go live to a charity match the site has organised, in aid of Seva and Macmillan nurses.
It will be a 3pm kick off!
Please share and like our page to support the boys taking part. We have one crowdfunded page on justgiving that raised Β£300 before prematurely ending so stay tuned for a new one setting up. We are hopeful to raise Β£1000 with this and the players match fees.

This is also the last call for anyone else who wants to play in the game held in north oxfordshire. Current players range from all abilities and ages! So do not feel you cannot contribute.

Text me on 07719565417 for more info!

Will ed001's "Just like watching brazil" better ed002's "Walham green east wapping, carpet cleaning rodent and boggit exterminating association"....FC?

Who is your money on?!

1.) 10 Jun 2018 22:22:48
Hey guys, ken and myself are both playing in this match mostly with guys from the Liverpool page. Some support would be greatly appreciated, if anyone can make the game and get involved that would be great, a few extra players so old fogies like men don't have to play 90 minutes could save his old creaking joints. Lol.
If you can't make it then donations or just tuning in to the Facebook live viewing of me making a tit of myself would be great.

I don't know about you guys but the site has given me so much over the years, I've been posting since it was a single page, and it's been a pleasure to watch it grow and be small part of that. So I'm more than happy to give a little back.

2.) 10 Jun 2018 23:33:01
Hey gents, if this ever happens again, I’d be happy to simultaneously set one up on the other side of the pond for max effect. I am an American currently living in Hawaii and I am certain that I could pull something together to double our efforts.

Let me know if something like that would interest you all.

3.) 10 Jun 2018 23:47:16
Shame nobody from ireland sets one up.

4.) 10 Jun 2018 23:50:06
I'm in the team with you Shappy. looking forward to it.

5.) 10 Jun 2018 22:24:14
What's the Facebook page called ed.

{Ed001's Note - I am told if you search this in the search bar on there it shows up first:

6.) 11 Jun 2018 01:30:39
If i could play on Saturday, Ed001 would liken me to Luka Modric in a player profile. would love to have played though.

{Ed001's Note - I was told you are more like an elephant dosed on valium trying to tap dance in concrete boots.}

7.) 11 Jun 2018 09:10:24
Excellent Lee mate, thought it was just me and Ken from the united page. Looks like we might have the three musketeers now. Lol.

8.) 11 Jun 2018 10:44:38
Feeling very vulnerable around all the Scousers.

9.) 11 Jun 2018 11:49:35
Boys keep the ball moving forward,
Don't park the bus.
Hold hands with their best player and pull him to the ground and try to get a sneaky elbow on their keeper early on in the game then take shots from 30 or 40 yards out. πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€ that should do it.

10.) 11 Jun 2018 13:45:24
Would love to have played lads unfortunatley I’m moving house to ulverston that day. Hope yous get a good day and a great turnout!
Enjoy yourselves.

11.) 11 Jun 2018 16:02:05
Have fun lads would have loved to have been there. Hope to be there next year.

12.) 11 Jun 2018 16:06:11
Far from it Ed, if you see me play i think you'd recommend me to Jim Lawlor.

13.) 11 Jun 2018 16:13:32
I refuse to watch this because it could ruin my belief that Shappy is really comedian Shappi Khorsandi.

14.) 11 Jun 2018 16:22:39
Or you might find your faith rewarded. Lol.

15.) 12 Jun 2018 20:27:00
I can play?

{Ed001's Note - get in touch with benny baller on the number provided, one has dropped out so there is a space.}

16.) 13 Jun 2018 15:53:24
Shappy/ Ken I am from this page but live in Liverpool so add another musketeer 2 that! πŸ˜ƒ.

{Ed001's Note - We have posted a new confirmed transfer entitled, Confirmed signings 2015-06-12.

1.) 12 Jun 2015 21:19:02
Thanks ed. Obiang from Sampdoria to West Ham is an interesting one.

{Ed001's Note - they are pushing the boat out, they are targeting European football at the Olympic Stadium.}

2.) 13 Jun 2015 10:31:15
They're assembling a pretty good squad, aren't they. Obiang was highly touted a few years ago so could prove to be a very good signing.

Well that answers my question on the banter page! Thanks as always ed

Thanks to all of you that have been helping to beta test our new game, Flat Out Horse Racing at it is completely free to play, and will remain that way even after it leaves beta. Currently Ed033 is working on converting the game to HTML5 so that it can run on mobile devices.

Once that is done, he will be putting together a monthly prize draw, which you can enter by buying tickets using the game money you have won through playing the game, as a thank you for your help with the testing. So the more you play it, the more chance you have of winning.

Also, in case you haven't spotted it yet, we have made some changes to your accounts on here, which you can find through your 'My Recent Posts' link currently. Or you can see those changes on other people's accounts by clicking on their name under a post.

You can now add a profile picture, as well as your avatar, plus some information about yourself if you choose to. There are also areas there to display how you are getting on in our games and competitions, if you are taking part.

The recent posts are still displayed on that page, but the links will be changed later to reflect the changes, as you will be able to edit your profile direct from that page. Your full set of profile badges will also be displayed there, when they are up and running (which is one of the next things on Ed033's to do list).

1.) Superb work ed thanks for each and evryone of yours dedication towards this site.

{Ed007's Note - (yes)

2.) Thanks Ed - I just had a 16-1 romp home, it was more exciting than watching Utd this season, haha. Appreciate all of your work on the site.

{Ed007's Note - Well done.}

{Ed's Note - Ed001 has posted a new article entitled, Football Rumours Charity Match Review

1.) 19 Jun 2018 11:09:05
Love it. Lol.

{Ed001's Note - glad you enjoyed Shappy, I thought I was very fair and completely unbiased, even though my team was shamelessly cheated of a fully deserved win.}

2.) 19 Jun 2018 11:21:53
Nail on the head ed. top quality stuff. laughing out loud here.

{Ed001's Note - and I never even mentioned how much you look like Jamie Carragher either. (Yes this time I will resist the opportunity to make any spitting image jokes).}

3.) 19 Jun 2018 11:31:50

{Ed001's Note - sorry ken, you have a future in being a double...}

4.) 19 Jun 2018 12:16:16
Good one Ed. A truly unbiased review of the funday. Where can i find a video of the game?

{Ed001's Note - it will be uploaded to youtube. As soon as I have the link I will post it up for you.}

5.) 19 Jun 2018 13:01:06
Thanks Ed! Really looking forward to watching the game. May be someday i will also be a part of it.

{Ed001's Note - next year hopefully.}

6.) 19 Jun 2018 13:37:19
Is there any chance the game could be moved further north Ed001? Or is the current location best for most of the lads?

{Ed001's Note - I don't know mate, no venue has been decided upon yet. I would think a lot would depend on securing one to hold the match.}

7.) 19 Jun 2018 14:31:39
No rubbish Ed lol. Or we could throw it back and play in the back alleyways.

{Ed001's Note - now you are talking! These days we would probably just all end up arrested if we played there. We used to play in the street when I was young, by the time I was a teen you couldn't because there were too many cars and the owners would chase you.}

8.) 19 Jun 2018 15:02:47
Them were the days, throw 2 jumpers on the street for the goals, if you hit a car then you got a good chase, kept us fine and fit.

9.) 19 Jun 2018 14:53:08
It was still okay a while back Ed, but kids nowadays don't get off their consoles and phones. I know what kind of childhood i would prefer.

{Ed001's Note - I love my console but I would much rather kick a ball around outside any day.}

10.) 19 Jun 2018 15:24:51
Would be disappointed if you don't fancy a game in Fifa? .

{Ed001's Note - I haven't played FIFA since Matt passed as I always used to play against him. He was a big gamer since getting ill as there was little else he could do to pass time over the last few years. I have not really felt like playing it since he went. If you have a playstation account you are welcome to add me for if I ever do go back to it mate. trepei is my PS name.}

11.) 19 Jun 2018 15:35:48
Great review Ed I couldn’t stop reading until the last word.
Great to see the pictures and I’ll be planning to fly to the next one.
One year in advance and if I save $10 per day I should have enough to be there to watch next year 🀣
I’m really looking forward to the next game and meet all.

{Ed001's Note - it would be great to meet you at last 666.}

12.) 19 Jun 2018 16:38:05
Why not do united fans v Liverpool fans, or England v ireland.

13.) 19 Jun 2018 16:41:15
As long as you don't lose a talckle to a 12 year old you are welcome 666. Ill keep you on your toes😁.

14.) 19 Jun 2018 18:58:52
I’ll be the photo/ video grapher Ken.
I just want to make the excuse to watch/ meet and drink with you all. Just became item in bucket list πŸ˜‰.

15.) 19 Jun 2018 19:19:53
I'll try and make a special guest appearance next year, my fee won't be too expensive,2 grand will do.
If you lot can't come up with the money I might throw in a freebie.
Only joking I'll definitely try make it next year.

for me it is players that could walk into any side and improve it. Kante would be in that bunch. De Gea would be another. I am not convinced that Hazard would because he is competing with the likes of Ronaldo, Messi etc for a place. For me, I would say there are probably at most 22 players that could be considered world class in the world. Probably 4 or 5 in the Prem.

Sorry forgot to explain, what he asked for was a couple of youth teamers to stay behind with him and help him work on something.

Just going to do first team squad only,

Smalling - injury prone and barely good enough to be back up
Jones - see above
Blind - only useful for cover, too slow of foot to be useful in the weak area of lb, rather use youngsters than keep a player not good enough
Darmian - not settled in England
Fellaini - just not good enough and offers no utility value as cover unlike Young
Januzaj - attitude
Rooney - I don't think I need to say anything on this one
Zlatan - was a mistake to sign a player on such huge wages, he missed far too many chances and stop the team playing effective attacking football

Lindelof - centre back and right back cover, good young player
Ghoulam - I know he was looked at and has had a good season, though I have not heard of any move from you, I just think he would be a good option for left back
Morata - perfectly suited to Jose and Jose loves him
Matuidi - I expect you to get Nainggolan to be honest but I would go for Matuidi. Yes he is 30, but that is only a year older and Pogba is still a youngster in there and there are a few young ones on the verge that could then be introduced and tutored through games
Fabinho - I am not a big fan, I find him a bit lazy in midfield, he never chases back if play gets behind him, just fills in space when it is in front and then saunters back but his ability to play right back to a high level as well makes him a good option for United

I would not want to buy much more than that, as I would prefer to give the likes of Fosu-Mensah a chance to break through than fill out a squad.

And thank you ken, glad you enjoyed. Sorry knocked the submit button before I had finished with my reply then.

I can understand why Pickford is getting hype, as he does save shots that some other keepers would not get to, his rections and agility are top bracket. However, he is just putting them straight back into the danger area. Which means they are still ending up in the back of the net more often than not, but people don't notice that as they are too busy saying 'wow' about his save.

If he organised the defence well, he would not be facing so many shots in the first place. I mean, to stick with the Arsenal example, there was one point where Kone had been dragged forward out of position, O'Shea had not spotted the gap and started to drop back. I saw him look and see that, but he never did anything about it. Someone like say Peter Schmeichel would have screamed at O'Shea, he would have woken up, spotted the gap and got into position. Instead there was a huge gaping hole that Arsenal just strolled through.
