1.) 12 Jun 2015 21:19:02
Thanks ed. Obiang from Sampdoria to West Ham is an interesting one.

{Ed001's Note - they are pushing the boat out, they are targeting European football at the Olympic Stadium.}

2.) 13 Jun 2015 10:31:15
They're assembling a pretty good squad, aren't they. Obiang was highly touted a few years ago so could prove to be a very good signing.

Thanks to all of you that have been helping to beta test our new game, Flat Out Horse Racing at it is completely free to play, and will remain that way even after it leaves beta. Currently Ed033 is working on converting the game to HTML5 so that it can run on mobile devices.

Once that is done, he will be putting together a monthly prize draw, which you can enter by buying tickets using the game money you have won through playing the game, as a thank you for your help with the testing. So the more you play it, the more chance you have of winning.

Also, in case you haven't spotted it yet, we have made some changes to your accounts on here, which you can find through your 'My Recent Posts' link currently. Or you can see those changes on other people's accounts by clicking on their name under a post.

You can now add a profile picture, as well as your avatar, plus some information about yourself if you choose to. There are also areas there to display how you are getting on in our games and competitions, if you are taking part.

The recent posts are still displayed on that page, but the links will be changed later to reflect the changes, as you will be able to edit your profile direct from that page. Your full set of profile badges will also be displayed there, when they are up and running (which is one of the next things on Ed033's to do list).

1.) Superb work ed thanks for each and evryone of yours dedication towards this site.

{Ed007's Note - (yes)

2.) Thanks Ed - I just had a 16-1 romp home, it was more exciting than watching Utd this season, haha. Appreciate all of your work on the site.

{Ed007's Note - Well done.}

Review Of The Day 25th April 2018

{Ed's Note - Ed001 has posted a new article entitled, Review Of The Day 25th April 2018

1.) 25 Apr 2018 09:13:50
It's a bad thing when their fans are making the headlines ed.
Some boy from Ireland and his brother travelled over to watch the game and the one of them ends up in hospital, probably saving up for a while and excited to go over and watch their team play.

{Ed001's Note - Roma? This is commonplace with them. I remember they were vicious in Rome towards Man Utd and Spurs fans in recent years. They were the same back in '84, which is why I never wanted Liverpool to get them.}

2.) 25 Apr 2018 10:09:05
Like ed says it's been going on for years Lazio are the same.

{Ed001's Note - good point. They are goosestepping pricks to add to it those Lazio lot.}

3.) 25 Apr 2018 12:41:52
Aren't Roma and Lazio fans considered the worst for this sort of behaviour?

{Ed001's Note - certainly amongst them.}

4.) 25 Apr 2018 17:23:52
Wasn't there an incident a few years back with Lazio where they threw a scooter from stands?

I think those two sets of fans are the worst in Italy.

{Ed001's Note - correct there was.}

5.) 25 Apr 2018 18:39:57
Italian fans have a crazy streak in them.

6.) 25 Apr 2018 20:24:59
Says a lot when you can get a scooter into the stands. Mind you can the same about Figo's pigs head.

{Ed001's Note - that is different as a pig's head is not an unusual object for a Spaniard to carry around. It is a bit like having your shopping and lobbing a tin of beans on.}

Manchester United v Tottenham Hotspur - A Neutral's Perspective

{Ed's Note - Ed001 has posted a new article entitled, Manchester United v Tottenham Hotspur - A Neutral's Perspective

1.) 23 Apr 2018 16:46:22
Wow that was an amazing read ed.

{Ed001's Note - thank you mate.}

2.) 23 Apr 2018 16:58:26
Ed, really enjoying your consistent top quality content mate, keep it up.

{Ed001's Note - thank you very much Elvis. Your answer reminds me of the time me nan phoned me mam and was crying down the phone because the king was dead. Me mam asked her what king, we dont have a king. Me nan didnt have a clue, stopped sniffling and went off to check. She was not impressed when she found out it was Elvis as she didnt like his music!}

3.) 23 Apr 2018 16:59:02
Ed001 as usual great read especially when you took your time to analyze the replay.
I particularly paid attention to what you mentioned about the 2 managers and just wondered the potential problem had we appointed Poch. Of course he can still improve but as of now I do agree with what you said and how ManUtd can suffer if he takes over now.
Just to quote from Wenger about Viera, so on Poch - he is good but not ready yet.

{Ed001's Note - I just think he needs to learn to distance himself and recruit better. They are not buying winners they are buying athletes.}

4.) 23 Apr 2018 17:57:17
Brilliant that ed and absolutely spot on.

{Ed001's Note - cheers deano.}

5.) 23 Apr 2018 18:54:00
'Spursy' :)

6.) 23 Apr 2018 19:26:55
Personally I think he would be a different animal in Spain for example I've seen many players and coaches at spurs over the years going a bit spursy as you put it ed.

I think the whole choking thing runs to the very core of that club .

They have some fabulous players and a good coach but you never quite get the feeling they will make it, take the Leicester season not in a million years should spurs have messed that up but at the most important moment they lacked what Leicester had in abundance. bravery.

Jose has his detractors many among our own fans, however the one thing that he cannot be questioned on is being a winner . He will win and win and win whilst other managers do nowt .

{Ed001's Note - and discipline, remember the way they lost it at Chelsea?}

7.) 23 Apr 2018 20:49:12
Indeed ed I forgot about that game it was like wwe in the end 😂.

{Ed001's Note - until Poch sorts that issue out, his teams will continue to fold. Discipline is very important, it goes hand in hand with organisation and organised sides win trophies.}

8.) 23 Apr 2018 21:10:12
Ed when you get time. Can you do a review on Guardiolas season this year. If you get time that is as your super busy.

{Ed001's Note - I will add it to my to do list, but I can't promise anything as there are a lot of things on there. Hopefully over the summer I might get a chance.}

9.) 23 Apr 2018 21:35:40
Cool thanks ed.

{Ed001's Note - my pleasure mate.}

10.) 23 Apr 2018 21:36:31
You can't learn to be a winner, you either are or aren't. As much as poch can improve as a coach, sort out the discipline etc etc he won't be a winner. Unless he goes to Spain and has it easy.

{Ed001's Note - you can learn to be a winner. People can change. We are not born exactly the same people as we are at the age of 21. Sometimes people develop that drive late in life.}

11.) 24 Apr 2018 02:52:42
Fantastic ed, thanks.

I think Ali is in risk of wasting his talent. He has a very nasty streak and could easily have been sent off more times in his short career. When you think if some of the soft Red cards we've seen in Europe and international football I am amazed regularly that Ali does not see red more often. Players will no doubt start to target him to get him WOUND up.

{Ed001's Note - he is still a kid, he should grow up and be ok but I do worry about his lack of self-discipline under a manager who is not going to provide it for him.}

12.) 24 Apr 2018 10:12:13
Brilliant write up. I find it hard to argue any points you make on this site. Better reading on here daily that any of the papers. Thanks for all your work.

{Ed001's Note - thank you Tm.}

for me it is players that could walk into any side and improve it. Kante would be in that bunch. De Gea would be another. I am not convinced that Hazard would because he is competing with the likes of Ronaldo, Messi etc for a place. For me, I would say there are probably at most 22 players that could be considered world class in the world. Probably 4 or 5 in the Prem.

Just going to do first team squad only,

Smalling - injury prone and barely good enough to be back up
Jones - see above
Blind - only useful for cover, too slow of foot to be useful in the weak area of lb, rather use youngsters than keep a player not good enough
Darmian - not settled in England
Fellaini - just not good enough and offers no utility value as cover unlike Young
Januzaj - attitude
Rooney - I don't think I need to say anything on this one
Zlatan - was a mistake to sign a player on such huge wages, he missed far too many chances and stop the team playing effective attacking football

Lindelof - centre back and right back cover, good young player
Ghoulam - I know he was looked at and has had a good season, though I have not heard of any move from you, I just think he would be a good option for left back
Morata - perfectly suited to Jose and Jose loves him
Matuidi - I expect you to get Nainggolan to be honest but I would go for Matuidi. Yes he is 30, but that is only a year older and Pogba is still a youngster in there and there are a few young ones on the verge that could then be introduced and tutored through games
Fabinho - I am not a big fan, I find him a bit lazy in midfield, he never chases back if play gets behind him, just fills in space when it is in front and then saunters back but his ability to play right back to a high level as well makes him a good option for United

I would not want to buy much more than that, as I would prefer to give the likes of Fosu-Mensah a chance to break through than fill out a squad.

And thank you ken, glad you enjoyed. Sorry knocked the submit button before I had finished with my reply then.

I can understand why Pickford is getting hype, as he does save shots that some other keepers would not get to, his rections and agility are top bracket. However, he is just putting them straight back into the danger area. Which means they are still ending up in the back of the net more often than not, but people don't notice that as they are too busy saying 'wow' about his save.

If he organised the defence well, he would not be facing so many shots in the first place. I mean, to stick with the Arsenal example, there was one point where Kone had been dragged forward out of position, O'Shea had not spotted the gap and started to drop back. I saw him look and see that, but he never did anything about it. Someone like say Peter Schmeichel would have screamed at O'Shea, he would have woken up, spotted the gap and got into position. Instead there was a huge gaping hole that Arsenal just strolled through.
