Herrera last year, 2 goals 2 assists. No caps for Spain. Do we really want to spend £30m on him? Terrible window in my view! Gutted

1.) He's a good player, defensively very good and good on the ball his game is not all about goals and assists
2.) Carrick last year. 2 Goals and 5 assists - and played 12 more games.
Carrick did make 5 appearances for England - but given the strength of the Spain and England midfields this makes sense. If Carrick was Spanish he too would have made no international appearances!
3.) Crazy huh. He scored just as many goals from midfield as our Striker Wellbeck ;)

5.) Spain have the best midfield in the world, only a matter of time before he gets a call up, Barca will get him in 2 years if we don't get him.

7.) For all the guys who are slagging this guy, have you ever watched him play?
He is head and shoulder better than what we have. do you want us to sign players or are you just looking to bitch, because nothing seems good enough?
We all know this window has been nothing short of a comedy show but seeing it out without any signings is going to be an even worst outcome.
His turn and change of direction is great and something that none of our midfielders have and he will put a foot in and never shy to tackle. To me sounds like exactly what we need.
Cracking Spain's national team as midfielder is very difficult given the wealth of talent they have and should not be point of contention.

I believe we will sign Fellaini in the next 48hours, for a fee of around £24m. I think he will do a job in our midfield, add a bit of steel and bite.
But I really think we need an attacking CM too, someone who can break down stubborn defences with a splitting pass etc. Ozil wants to leave so we should go all out for him. Could have Carrick and Fellaini, with Kagawa, Rooney and Ozil behind RVP. We would be so strong! Please Moyesy pull something out the bag

1.) We would have the strongest team and strongest squad in the league just with them 2 signings. Look at the list of players who wouldn't even be in the first team, lindergaard, jones, smalling, Evans, fabio, buttner, Valencia, cleverley, Anderson, giggs, nani, welbeck, Hernandez.
What a bench we would have every week. A lot of the players mentioned should be squad players and would be very strong squad players. This is not including januzaj and Powell who I hope get some chances.
2.) Missed zaha out there!
3.) Its only when you see a post like this that you truly understand the strength of our squad.I completely agree GDS2 a bit of steel and a more attack minded centre mid and we will be more than a match for any squad in Europe.

So we know Ozil wants to leave Madrid and they need to recoup cash.
We know Chelsea really want Rooney and he doesn't want to be here any more.
Imagine offering Chelsea a straight swap Rooney for Mata, and offering Madrid £35-40m for Ozil. Snap up Fellaini for £23m ish and were looking at a front 6 of Carrick and Fellaini to do the dirty work, with Mata, Ozil and Kagawa interchanging, with RVP up top!
That would be formidable for me and give us just a good a chance as any in Europe for £55-63m . Would be money well spent in my eyes!

1.) I would want money plus Mata Rooney is worth more than 40m if Bale is worth 90m
2.) How can you expect money as well? Mata is a better player, Rooneys gone well off the boil, and Mata is only 25. If anything I'd probabily give Chelsea £5m plus Rooney for Mata

I agree with you although we are in a minority. This is going to be an interesting few days as we might see some things that will turn everyone's head or nothing as has been the case so far.
I am very curious to see if rooney gets a start today although I think we would be better off without him in the starting lineup and maybe as a sub later in the game.
Today's game has turned into a circus act given all the subplots and Mourinho is steering things up and the media is loving it. I would love to see us stick it to them 3-1 or 4-1 and that should shut him up for a few days.

Cleverly is not good enough, and never will be its as simple as that. He is ineffective in games, always looks to go sideways rather than forward, and has no quality in the final 3rd! I would be glad to see him go personally

Do you not understand the modern game these days? Clubs are not just clubs they're businesses now. The amount of revenue from wining competitions it's huge, massive.
In an ideal world we'd all love 11 young local lads rather than buy foreign players, but we cant, we have to improve with the other teams to compete. Give youth a chance by all mean which we do. Adnan and zaha will get game time.
Welbeck needs to start scoring because at the minute he couldn't finish his cereal . And I'm sorry but Tom cleverly is not good enough. I really is as simple as that! Mark, granted we need CM reinforcements, that's obvious to see and hopefully we strengthen there in the next week.
But to say we will finish 4/6th what have you been smoking? Rediculous statemet! We are Ye champions, we've started the season fairly well, and even if we don't add to the squad we will still be in the title race. 4th to 6th. Jesus!
