Just an observation but we were not playing very well before Carrick got injured.

While he was injured, we actually managed six wins on the bounce and generally playing a little better and confidence returning.

Since Carrick has returned to the side we are even worse than before he was injured.

We just sit far too deep and concede possession far too easily.

Now I'm not slating Carrick as he has been a very good consistent player for the club but at the moment I think he is slowing our play down too much.

As I said just my own observation, there is a lot more going on that I can't see and I'm no football manager, just a fan.

1.) Carrick does slow the play down too much, but he's still probably the best we have right now. I think we will start to see Fellaini more as Moyes will want to prove he wasn't a mistake. Fellaini and someone like Vidal could work pretty well IMO.

2.) I think Carrick will be a squad player next year.
I think he's struggling with the pace this season.
Like Syd said I think we will see a lot more of Fellaini now. let's hope that injured wrist was effecting his game and he comes back a better player.

3.) I think your right syd vidal fellani partnership could work very well. its amazing the time fletch had off wit his problem an in only a couple of games back he is still 10 times the player carrick is. if you think i'm bashing carrick wel your right he has no place on the team IMO.

4.) Carrick was always slow but now he is geriatric! Don't think it is a coincidence that when he was out injured and we had more energy in midfield the performances and hence reresults improved! But the concern here is if we can see this (not saying it is that simple, but sometimes it can be that simple ) why can't the chosen one?

5.) I agree Carrick is the best of what we have but I am also glad that a few others are taking the stance of him being out of the side is a better scenario for the team than him in. Before the december injury I talked about how it could have been a perfect scenario to try out different combinations in the centre and lo and behold we went on our best run of results all season.

Now with Fletcher back and looking good, we could get a more mobile and creative CM and we will look a lot better than where we are now. Herrera could be the answer if he is available. Although we all want Vidal/Gundogan I can't see either moving this window.

Is the rumors site still up and running? It has not had a new post since 10th Sept!

Maybe with the transfer window closed there are fewer rumours at this time of year.

I was kind of thinking the same thing but then decided to park the idea because, surely the club would only go for a manager with a top CV in the wake of the Moyes debacle?

I would love it if Giggs got the job and was a success but must admit it would be a huge gamble by the club.

Why wait until xmas?

If he had anything to offer to take us forward, instead of vertically backwards, surely he would have shown it by now?

So if he spends £200m does this change his ability/inability?

Sorry for me, as I posted early in the season, how can he (if he is a good manager) take a ruthlessly efficient team so far backwards (or words to that effect)?

As most on here and now in the media are questioning, what has ne brought to the party.

AJH I've sort of sat on the fence about DM but been critical and still am. I really want DM to do well but then facts are all against that happening.

Why play Ferdi just after his first full 90 mins for some time?

Why leave Adman at home when we have 11 days until the next match?

Why not try to play through the middle?

Why sit so deep so the opposition have all the room?

I think most of those questions DM should have to answer, most on here would offer their views.

Oh btw did you see the Carrick interview? It was either as lackluster as his performance or he just about stopped short of diss-ing the manager?

Ed02, So the claims from Diego Torres that:

Jose Mourinho 'cried' when he wasn’t considered for the Manchester United post earlier this year.

Are all fabrication?

{Ed002's Note - That was debunked and denied at the time.}

I think Mourinho could have been approached before Moyes and not many on here will go for this one but imo I think Rafa (yes the fat Spanish waiter) would have been an excellent choice.

I just think Moyes does not have the self-belief to do the Utd job, lacking conviction for me.
