Hey Ed, thought I'd ask this one on the United page. Any truth in the rumours that Juventus quoted United a figure that they would accept for Pogba?
Thanks for any answer.

Jackson

{Ed002's Note - It is conjecture based on discussions with two other clubs and vGaal saying he thought Pogba was nifty or whatever.}

1.) If you don't mind me asking, which clubs were those discussions being held with?
Anyways, thanks for the info as always.

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea and Real Madrid - possibly PSG as well.}

2.) Thanks a lot, Ed, great stuff as always :)

Chelsea fan here, and I'm not looking to cause trouble or anything. I'm not here to gloat. The season is long, and we've been beaten badly by Arsenal as well. Every team will get his share of beatings and wins over the season.

I was wondering what United fans thought of Mourinho's "talk" to Conte at the final whistle. I myself thought it was pretty rich coming from the king of sideline antics :-) Conte is just an extremely passionate manager, and I'm pretty sure he wasn't looking to humiliate anyone. Just that he was happy.
What did you think? Ed004 or other Eds too, if you like. I love reading your opinions.

Jackson

{Ed004's Note - I think it was petty from Mourinho TBH. I can see why he was annoyed but every manager celebrates differently and everyone knows Conte is a passionate fan. Tbf before he started trying to get the crowd going the commentators had said it was the Utd fans making the noise in the stadium so I can understand why Conte was trying to get the Chelsea fans more vocal}

Summed up the whole day for united in my opinion, we couldn't even be good sore losers lol.

2.) 24 Oct 2016 16:18:17
maybe he was trying to take the attention away from the players?

3.) 24 Oct 2016 16:35:08
In italy its a unwritten rule that basically you don't take the mickey of another side when there down, that is probably what mourinho is alluding to.

But yeh there's nothing in it for me, he was embarrassed by the home support being out done by a set of fans at 4-0 down and wanted them to make some noise.

4.) 24 Oct 2016 16:55:16
Spot on Jackson and Ed004. A bit rich coming after some of Jose's antics over the years. Classic Jose attempting to deflect the attention away from his poor tactics and poor team selection, as well as the players' poor performances.

5.) 24 Oct 2016 15:25:59
Spot on, Jackson and Ed004. Thought it was a bit rich, but typical Jose looking to deflect attention away from another poor performance, poor tactics and poor team selection.

Chelsea fan here, I come in peace :-)
This post is directed to Shappy actually (I think it was Shappy). A couple of months ago I read a post of yours regarding central midfield options. You mentioned some names and wrote a short few sentences about each.
Now I'm particularly curious about one of those players, namely Morgan Sanson. I haven't seen him play myself, but I remember Ed002 mentioning that a lot is expected of him.
So I was wondering if you perhaps could share some more of your views on him? I'm really curious to hear more about him from people who have actually watched him.
Hope you see this, but no problem if you don't have anything to add to that post from April I think it was.

Cheers! And congrats on the transfer window, guys. I think you brought in some good players. Martial especially I'm high on. You paid way over the top for him, but it just so happens that your club's got cash to burn so it doesn't matter ;-)

Everyone even the clubs in the championship overpaid on their players.

No player is worth what a club pays for them, personally I think we have overpaid on every player we have bough for the last 20 years. It's just the press warp peoples opinions of what is acceptable to spend on a player.

The press will have you believe if you signed Messi for 200m that you got a bargain because he is the best player in the world(possibly ever) and you bought him for less than his buy out clause. Yet 10 years ago 200m would have been an outrage, and you can't say that's inflation as the last 10 years we have mostly been in recession. And inflation hasn't been that high.

The fact is if Messi played for Exeter city he wouldn't get them into the champions league final or promoted to the Prem by himself. It is a team game so spending such massive amounts on players is stupid and unjustifiable.

Look at the cost of your squad, transfer fees over the course of their contracts and look at the wages, then look at how much it costs to train and keep these players in medical bill, food and everything else the club supplies them. add that all together and look at how much your squad costs you a year, then see how much they bring in via performances and sponsorship deals. If your in profit then they are worth it, if you make a loss then they aren't. It's as simple as that.

We will make a profit this year, where as Chelsea probably won't Man City definitely won't. So who over paid for their players.

But I seem to have digressed from the point of this post.

Morgan Sanson is an excellent prospect, I've watched him around 15-18 times I think. He is a very well rounded midfield player, his vision is his strongest attribute which in midfield is vital as it gives him a good all round idea of the game so he can contribute in both defence and offence. He can make a key interception or tackle one moment then make a key pass the next. His passing and tackling are good, especially his passing range. He has a good engine and is capable of playing box to box. His weaknesses at this moment are his inexperience and his shooting. His shooting is decent but he will want to improve it as he often gets in good positions and then either shoots off target or straight at the keeper or fails to shoot and the chance is gone.
The other issue he has at the moment is he lacks patience, he tries to make every pass the killer one, and tries to beat every man who stands him up. This is the inexperience showing.

With a bit of hard work and luck he will be a top midfielder in a few years time, I could see him playing for Bayern or PSG might see him as a replacement for Matuidi.

He will be a top player for whoever gets him. Similar to a young Herrera but with more potential maybe.

2.) 02 Sep 2015 12:57:34
Cheers, man :-)
First off, I stand by the fact your club committed some very big money on a young player in Martial. But as I said, United is very rich so it doesn't matter. So yeah, you'll make a profit. You can spend whatever you like and still make a profit. Chelsea can't, it's that simple. We can't pay whatever we want to get a relatively unproven player. Chelsea has to be smarter and that's what they have been doing. The club is self sustainable, something very few people would have predicted a couple of years ago. Both clubs are doing well, and my comment was certainly not meant as criticism, so I apologize if it sounded like one.

Thanks for your answer on Sanson, he sounds promising. Midfielders that can set the tempo, switch play etc. don't grow on trees so he could definitely become a hot commodity. I'll try to catch some of his games this season.
Thanks, man!!

Ed004, Ed018 pointed me towards you and told me to ask you this question. I love working out in the gym etc, some might call me a gym rat haha :)
Well, Ed018 said you're quite a fan of working out as well and said that you'd probably have some interesting tips and hints about training and stuff. Care to share them with me (and other interested readers)? :)
Hope you don't mind me bothering you with this :)

Jackson

{Ed004's Note - I think somebody is pulling you're leg mate. I enjoy going to the gym but never stick at it long enough to make any sort of progress. Your best bet is the talk health page. Ed001 surprisingly knows quite a bit about supplements. I would usually buy stuff off his recommendations.}

1.) 14 May 2015 22:11:29
Hahaha apparently Ed018 got me then :-P
No matter, man. Hope some day you find the motivation to keep going. I've been working out for a couple of years now and can honestly say that consistency is the key.
Sorry to have bothered you, mate.

{Ed004's Note - Thats no problem at all}

Hi guys, I hope you don't mind me visiting the page with a question.
Regarding Di Maria, is he injured or what's his situation? Unlike some other people, I'm actually worried about your team. And that's due in large part to ADM.
Our own situation doesn't look so rosy at the moment. Costa injured and Remy as well. Most likely you're going to go up against Drogba leading the line at the weekend. Probably a most welcome sight for you guys ;-)
With Azpi suspended and Mikel, Ramires and perhaps even Schurrle all in some sort of doubt, this is a great time to play us.

So was just wondering whether one of you had any knowledge regarding the Di Maria situation.

Cheers lads

I expect costa to make a miraculous recovery in time for the game.

2.) SomehowI doubt that. It's just too good an opportunity to let him rest for a couple of weeks now and allow him to finally fully recover. After playing you guys there's Swindon, QPR and then Maribor before we play Liverpool. Apart from the game on Sunday, we should be fine without him up until Liverpool.
So for the greater good, I think he'll sit out.

3.) 22 Oct 2014 15:33:57
Hello mate, I think for that reason he will play, be can be rested for those games after. Trust me Costa will play.
I expect ADM will play too.

4.) I agree with Chris completely! ADM and DC19 will both feature.

5.) It'd be awesome if both of them could play. Sure it would be harder for both teams to win, but it's always more fun to play a team when they're at least close to full strength.
Well of course I hope Chelsea gets the win, I also hope it's a good game to watch. I'm sure your boys are going to hold up their end of the deal when it comes to attacking football.
With the talent both teams have, it should make for a good one.
Cheers guys

6.) 22 Oct 2014 17:50:43
Lets hope so Jackson mate.

7.) Costa will play because he has the strenght to beat our centre backs pace wont

8.) MrE

Totally agree, costa will play and not a sign of an injury and don't really believe that he is injured.

Maybe a CM partnership with our own starlet Loftus-Cheek? :-) TFM being the more defensive one, while RLC is his more refined attacking partner.

Just for your information, guys. Chelsea reportedly were willing to meet his release clause, but the player himself didn't want to move away from Barca. Make of it what you will.

Matt Law apparently reported it as well. He's pretty reliable when it comes to Chelsea dealings.

Juve don't seem to be willing to pay Matic's asking price though (around 40 million) . You guys just need to pay up the asking price and I'm sure Granovskaia will be very happy to sell to you ;-)

Is Aurier even allowed to enter the UK? I thought I read that his visa was revoked or something.

Jackson

{Ed004's Note - I'm sure that would be sorted out if he was to move}

Difference is, Srestha, that Chelsea have actually bought Bakayoko. You on the other hand probably haven't come close to buying a Lambo.

Who says I'm crying about the injury? Just saying it's a huge factor and will cost us points. It's not just some random injury. It's our best player, and quite probably the best player in the PL that's injured. That's a huge loss, which ever way you want to spin it.

We should be fine to handle CL and PL once our key players return to fitness and we get another 2 or 3 players in. Bakayoko and Eden fit, plus the acquisition of another wingback and CM will make a big big difference. Our team is still worse than yours, but we can hang with most clubs if we don't have too many injuries.

Oh and X Files, you're spot on regarding Christensen. He might not be very well known to the average PL fan, but he's a special talent at CB.

I do agree partly, X Files. No real easy games in the PL. But without Eden until the end of September and Bakayoko out as well until September, combined with our difficult start to the season could see us lose too much ground. I've been pretty sure for a while that it'll be you and City who'll fight for the title, and I'll stand by that. There's too much quality and depth in your respective squads.

I just hope it'll be a fight for the title until the very end. Runaway champions are boring :-)

Well I think he's mainly unhappy at the lack of players available to him. For the Spurs game next weekend we'll have 13 outfield players available as things stand right now. And that's with Boga and Musonda included. Injuries to Bakayoko and Hazard are making us look worse than we really are in my opinion.
And of course we've got the bad luck of the scheduling that we have Spurs, Everton, Leicester, Arsenal and City all before the end of September. That's a rough start to the season when your best player is out injured and you've got a couple of newcomers in crucial positions (Morata and Bakayoko) . I imagine we could be out of the title race by the time October starts as I've noticed you guys have a pretty easy start to the season and honestly you guys are pretty loaded this season :-P

I'm just hoping we get top 4 and our young loanees in PL impress. RLC sure had a brilliant start yesterday :-)
