How many on here are hoping that Laporte starts at LB on Saturday?

Marcus would be licking his lips.

Sometimes logic just doesn't work in football.

Salah has probably been the best player in the league this season, beating players for fun and scoring a hat full of goals.

He is Liverpool's big threat.
So you can understand Pep's thinking in playing a quick strong centre back at LB to stop him. In theory it makes total sense. Pallets is very quick so should be able to keep up with Salah, he is physically stronger and as a centre back has good reading of the game and we'll honed defensive skills. He should be an ideal candidate to shut Salah out of the game.

Whereas, Ashley Young a right footed winger who is in the twilight of his career and who has never been considered to be defensive sound playing out of position against the league's in form player sounds like a hiding to nothing.

Yet it was Young who had Salah in his pocket, and Laporte who Salah had on toast.

Sometimes football just doesn't make sense.

Pep and team has spent billions (? ) But the team is absolutely thin; there's no cover for LB - hard to believe. Anyway, Pep was out of ideas? That Leroy Sane performance makes the Rashford goal look even better; he couldn't even get past that TAA guy. to put it into perspective, I think Mourinho was absolutely spot on vs Liverpool earlier this season. I don't know how we'll perform vs Citeh this weekend, but I trust Mourinho all the way.

To be fair that was a unlucky injury to Mendy it could happen to anyteam.

To be fair, Liverpool just did what people have been saying for months, target City’s weak defence and they’ll make mistakes. Shows how a mix of pressing high at the right times, and attacking their defence with pace can pay big dividends.

Wait and see the difference next weekend, we’ll sit back to soak up the pressure, and City will look a world class team again.

The referee was very good as well. Let the game flow and wouldn't let City break up Liverpool's attacks with their fouls.

PL refs should learn from these refs.
I feel there is a gap in terms of practical skills in the ground and that’s differentiate them unfortunately.

Thanks a lot Ed, at least we have an idea of transfer targets. It's a bit disappointing though that we aren't focusing so much on RW/ RM/ RB.

Ed004 - I know mate, the kind of manager that some of us wanted to take over at Man United, but it is what it is. as SAF said we have to stand by the manager, regardless of who it is.

I think we'll see Unai Emery Or Leonardo Jardim move to Arsenal.

{Ed004's Note - Jardim would be a very good appointment}
