Bakayoko deal off? Apparently he's failed a medical. He's deleted Chelsea related posts from his social media. All a bit unclear but very interesting.

1.) 14 Jul 2017 19:07:11
His twitter hasn't changed at all.

2.) 14 Jul 2017 19:17:45
He's definitely creating his own hype with this transfer. An hour ago he changed his profile picture to him playing for Monaco, he also looks to have his knee strapped up in the picture?
Maybe there's truth in the failed medical.

3.) 14 Jul 2017 21:47:56
Apparently he passed his medical but paperwork from Monaco is incomplete. Won't hold it up for long.

{Ed002's Note - He signed for Manchester United on Monday - we dealt with it then.}

4.) 14 Jul 2017 22:00:10
Ah, of course, I'd completely forgoften about Monday, thanks for reminding me Ed 02.

5.) 14 Jul 2017 22:25:24
Ha ha love it Ed 02, people doubt you but I never do. Keep up the great work.

6.) 14 Jul 2017 22:32:42
Ha ha ed002 is smashing it😂😂.

7.) 14 Jul 2017 23:08:27
Lucky we have ed 002 who never gets anything wrong.

8.) 15 Jul 2017 10:03:37
ED's, who do we have in mind if Matic goes to Italy and Fabinho doesn't happen?

{Ed002's Note - The options I previously gave probably still stand:
Fabinho (has the advantage he can cover at RB but Monaco may block any sale)
Tiemoue Bakayoko (Chelsea have an agreement Monaco)
Thiago Maia (interest from Mourinho at Chelsea - price is off putting so unlikely right now but other clubs are looking to a "creative" deal for the player)
Nemanja Matic (wildcard but still a player Mourinho would like)
Eric Dier (Spurs will resist selling)
Julian Weigl (wildcard)

9.) 15 Jul 2017 15:11:35
thanks Ed002 that's great, I didn't know about interest in Thiago Maia or Julian Weigl. Fingers crossed for Fabinho, hopefully Monaco will cash in, but i bet his price has gone up with Bakayoko gone too. I can't imagine Chelsea or Spurs would be willing to sell to a direct rival but money talks like Walker to city doesn't it.

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea has no objections in selling players to other clubs - Mata went to Manchester United, Cech to Arsenal, Sturridge to Liverpool, etc..}

Hi Eds,
Earlier this year around January it was mentioned that Darmian was unsettled, missing home and could consider leaving in the summer.

Has there been any change? He started off really well putting in solid performances. but then the performances dipped.

Are there any other players we are considering for the RB position?

Many thanks.

LeeLee14

{Ed041's Note - I don't know, sorry.

Mkhitaryan is now officially a red!
On to the next one!

LeeLee14

02 Jul 2016 12:43:55
Official confirmation from Borussia Dortmund. Mkhitaryan is a UTD player.

Brilliant news.

LeeLee14

1.) 02 Jul 2016 12:56:44
So that is defence and the forwards strengthen, midfield next?

2.) 02 Jul 2016 13:05:47
I Agree. Still think we need another CB though Stoatweed.

3.) 02 Jul 2016 13:03:22
Wouldn't surprise me if we bought an older CB yet.

4.) 02 Jul 2016 13:48:46
Manolas would be a good option although I'd still love Varane in there!

Also a lot of people underestimate Inigo Martinez of Sociedad?

5.) 02 Jul 2016 14:18:40
Ed mentioned victor lindelof, 21 year old Swedish centre back plays for benfica, know anything about him Ronnie?

6.) 02 Jul 2016 15:19:34
Again, good young centre-back currently at Benfica, who would demand the earth for him, but he's also Swedish and maybe Zlatan could be a factor?

Would still prefer Varane though?

7.) 02 Jul 2016 15:51:20
I've not really watched both of them enough to make a sound judgement but I'm sure our scouts have done a good job on them, he's only 21 so pretty young for a centre back yet, think he would probably be behind bailly and smalling in the pecking order, cheers ronnie.

8.) 02 Jul 2016 16:39:45
I would be quite happy to go into the season with the defenders that we have.

9.) 02 Jul 2016 17:42:00
The key is de gea for me stoat, as long as he stays we'll be OK with what we have, but there's no harm in strengthening our central defence, it's been neglected for years now.

10.) 02 Jul 2016 19:02:32
I'm not sure about central midfield. I'd be quite happy going into the season with Schneiderlin, Herrera, Rooney, Carrick and Schweini, maybe Blind too.

Carrick must surely now be relegated to a backup role, but remains a good dressing room influence. Not sure about Scweini, but if Jose gets him performing like he can, he's still a top player.

The club have confirmed our 4th big signing of the summer. Sir Richard Branson! Our new UK retail financial services partner.

Woodward you genius.
just couldn't help himself, He loves a sponsor lol.

LeeLee14

1.) 18 Jul 2016 13:18:00
Lee,
A Virgin sponsor to boot!

2.) 18 Jul 2016 23:32:32
Lol :D.

30 Jun 2016 10:00:09
Utd have just announced a pre season friendly against Galatasary in Sweden. Hmm I guess that confirms Zlatan then.

LeeLee14

1.) 30 Jun 2016 11:53:28
Press reports today saying Zlatan deal should be wrapped up over the weekend. One year deal.

26 Jun 2016 11:05:44
I'll start off by saying how extremely happy i'll be if we sign Mkhitaryan. but there's a part of me that's a bit jealous of the Pool possibly bagging Mane.

Anyone feels the same?

LeeLee14

1.) 26 Jun 2016 11:26:10
Nope.

2.) 26 Jun 2016 11:32:19
I like Mane and I wouldn't be opposed to us going for him, however, Mkhitaryan is the better player IMO. Also they are likely going to be going for around the same price with Mane possibly being up to £35-40million?

Mkhitaryan for possibly £5-10 million less is definitely the better deal.

3.) 26 Jun 2016 12:44:53
It's a tough one. Mkhitaryan looks the better player although hasn't shown that he's capable of playing in the EPL. That said; the German league is probably the most comparable to the EPL of all foreign leagues and Mane, although at times has looked the part - is rather inconsistent.

Mane will probably end up costing more upfront although will be on considerably less money. We'd also lose him to the ACON every other year.

Personally I'd rather we signed Mkhitaryan but can understand some preferring Mane.

4.) 26 Jun 2016 12:02:17
We haven't landed Mkhitaryan yet, and the longer the delay, the less likely it becomes, as I said earlier.
Until the man signs, there is no deal. Likewise Mane.
As regards their relative merits, neither player has EPL experience so both constitute a risk and until both play in the EPL (if they ever do) we will never know which is better suited to the EPL and which is the better value.
Red Setter.

5.) 26 Jun 2016 14:36:41
Mane plays for Southampton, Red Setter.

6.) 26 Jun 2016 14:56:43
Mane plays for Saints.

08 Feb 2016 00:26:37
Many are suggesting we are out of the top four but we're still in Europa. Why not go all out to try and win it.

Not easy. But definitely achievable.

LeeLee14

1.) 08 Feb 2016 08:27:51
I hope we take it seriously.

2.) 08 Feb 2016 14:11:07
We're 7 points from second place with 13 games to go. The season is far from over. And with us playing like the way we are, we can beat the teams above us and go on a nice run.

Rumours floating around that LVG has told Chica he can leave. Surely we must have someone arriving?

Rooney fans look away but if we can offload Rooney AND buy Lukaku for 75m from a league rival in today's current market - that is great business.

I would want us to go in for Aubameyang. Seems his move to PSG has broken down. He's rapid, scores goals. sign him up!

Putting the name aside. which club would offer a 35 year old with an ACL injury a contract extension? He served us well but we need to move on.

Can't see Varane leaving Real Madrid, especially with Pepe leaving.

We've been missing that Bullish type striker. He will get loads of service from Pogba - close friends off the field too so he'll integrate quickly.

Great bit of business.

The same agent we used to secure the signings of Ibra, Mkhi and Pogba.

He is a Sh#tbag but we have a good ties with him at the minute.

I Would prefer we go in for Douglas Costa. I think the player is quality. We lack wingers that can hug the chalk, stretch and get in behind fullbacks.

LeeLee14

{Ed004's Note - I wouldn't be against a loan with an option to buy (after 1 or 2 years - similar to Coman) but can't see Bayern being tempted with that. If we played 433 he would be good cover for Herrera}
