LVG said we would be signing a number 6 given that Schneiderlin is more of a number 8 box to box midfielder who do you all want/ think we will get for the role? i'd love to see us get Schweinsteiger but it looks unlikely. Strootman has had a lot of injury problems. Javi Martinez would b ideal but i doubt Bayern would sell. Have we shown interest in any1 other than Carvalho?

Mulambo

1.) 08 Jul 2015 23:47:02
Martinez or Carvalho for me please😆😆

2.) 09 Jul 2015 09:31:55
wanyama has been awesome i'd like him in there :)

01 Jul 2015 12:42:39
Douglas Costa signed for Bayern, Schweinstger on the way to us?

Mulambo

1.) 01 Jul 2015 13:12:19
Good reasoning right there. I can't fault it. Bastian surely will be ours.

2.) 01 Jul 2015 13:21:40
Completely different players , Costa to replace Ribery surely as he's struggling badly with injuries

3.) 01 Jul 2015 13:58:48
More likely Goetz imo who hasn't settled well.

4.) 01 Jul 2015 14:57:32
Or Bayern could just be strengthen their attack. ?

5.) 01 Jul 2015 15:03:44
Or Javi Martinez??????

6.) 01 Jul 2015 16:29:37
HMMM

One is defensive CM and one is atticking mid/winge.

7.) 01 Jul 2015 17:38:07
Surely this means we will ger Neuer?!?

8.) 01 Jul 2015 17:52:54
LOL, brilliant.

{Ed001's Note - isn't Ribery considering retirement?}

I think we all agree that paying the agreed price to keep falcao would b bad business. but if we could negotiate a lower fee what would u guys b prepared to see us pay for him?

Mulambo

1.) 14 May 2015 23:34:24
10 mill tops.
He has flopped in the PL.

2.) 14 May 2015 23:42:49
I'd pay £35-£40m if I was any other club. Unfortunately we lack the players to create chances for Falcao and need a striker who can create his own chances with pace and trickery. It's a shame as I think Falcao will come good next season and won't be far off being 'the best out and out striker in the world' again. It won't be with us though.

3.) 15 May 2015 00:17:51
Would rather sign someone like Ings on a free.

4.) 15 May 2015 00:32:14
I agree JMB.
falcao is overhyped, overpriced and overpayed.

{Ed004's Note - Would people agree to another loan. Especially if RVP left? Maybe it's just me clinging to false hope that after a preseason and rest he could return to his former glory days}

5.) 15 May 2015 00:49:01
I personally don't think he has that x factor anymore.
He was a bit part player this season and IF we did loan him again it would be a huge part of wages going to a player I can't see getting a lot of games. It would be wiser to invest the money into other areas IMO.
Ings on a free makes perfect sense to me.

6.) 15 May 2015 01:11:54
I think Falcao has been unlucky to come to a team in transition and therefore been deprived of the incisive passing he thrives on. I have watched him a lot this season and it is obvious he struggled as many players do to come to terms with EPL style of football. He also was not properly recovered from his injuries. But his anticipation and awareness are there in abundance and given decent service and a long run in the team so he feels settled I am convinced he will score shed loads. Remember. Form is temporary Class is permanent

7.) 15 May 2015 02:06:37
Agree with Herbs 004. Waste of resources and the lads talent will be wasted here. He should do what all South Americans do coming into their twilight years and sign a bumper contract in the Serie A.

8.) 15 May 2015 06:02:28
I for one agree entirely with Ed 4. He is unfortunate to have come in now facing all the odds- injury, new league, new manager, a disorganised set of prayers and a fan base that is dying to see the team progress by 'hook or by crook'. All this odd piled in one man plus high fees paid and preasure to deliver. For me, if he can be signed on the cheap I will very much be happy as I still see him rising again when the odds are minimal. Ings for me is not convincing to me. One of those Overrated english players

{Ed025's Note - im with you on the ings shout yoko, him and austin are vastly overrated imo and their clubs are looking for big money, so i would swerve them myself..

9.) 15 May 2015 06:30:48
Yoko - Falcao is on £265,000 a week. His wage isn't going to drop if we sign him up. He has done next to nothing, no club or business for that matter can afford to be haemorrhaging that type of money.

{Ed025's Note - i agree jmb..

10.) 15 May 2015 08:02:04
Last weekend he was taking up some good positions in the box and making all the right runs but had absolutely no service, you can't pin all the blame on him although he does look like he's lost half a yard from a couple of years ago. Then again rvp has lost a couple of yards.

11.) 15 May 2015 08:45:21
He looks like he is carrying extra timber, and most importantly doesn't look happy at all. Unfortunately I think we should just move on from Falcao.

No striker relying on chances being created for them would do well with the current system. That is why it amazes me that I read a lot of people wanting Hernandez back. We need a Kane type player desperately for the way we play, maybe Lewandowski.

12.) 15 May 2015 09:35:52
Ings: Successful in the EPL thus far and can be got for free
Falcao: Failure in the EPL thus far and costs an arm and a leg!
Draw your own conclusions!

13.) 15 May 2015 10:10:07
I wouldn't sign Falcao on a permanent basis but nor would I sign Ings. Ings is a good player but certainly not better than what we have. Personally I'd rather keep RvP for another year than sign either Falcao or Ings.

But in all honesty I think we need a new striker who could be world class, Falcao has been poor, I read somewhere that he has only had something like 3 shots on target in his last 11 appearances, although I don't know how accurate that statement is.
RvP could rediscover a little form after a break over the summer but he would be a short term solution.
Rooney has been okay up front as a lone striker but he drops deep too often and isn't a long term solution either.
Wilson is a top prospect but isn't ready for the first team on a weekly basis yet.

We need a top class striker in his mid twenties to see us challenge on all fronts next season.

14.) 15 May 2015 12:06:25
I really enjoyed the Harry Kane to Utd rumours I read in the paper this morning. He'd be ideal and I think Benteke would be a good signing as well.

I'd move on Falcao and RVP.

{Ed004's Note - I think he is probably the ideal type of striker to lead the line for LvG. He's tall (replaces the need for Fellaini), dangerous at set pieces, quick and a good finisher. However, for the reported fee (45 million) I don't think he offers enough. Not sure he is technically good enough and if he is a world class finisher or not. Also worried he may be a one season wonder}

15.) 15 May 2015 09:48:33
Ed025,

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't Ings out of contract in the summer, so the club could be looking for big money, but they won't get it? Does that make it a slightly different proposition?

{Ed025's Note - its not just about the transfer GDS, its about his agent wanting big wages for him plus the add ons mate..

09 May 2015 19:10:02
the number of times I've thought "Thank God for Fellaini" sums up our season perfectly :/

Mulambo

1.) 09 May 2015 19:57:59
And thank God for David de Gea.

29 Apr 2015 22:24:58
Banter please ed. Would we b happy with hummels, clyne, gundogan, depay and isco this summer? Playing 433 gundogan mata Herrera in the middle depay isco and Rooney up top?

Mulambo

1.) 29 Apr 2015 23:01:30
Swap isco for fellaini and put mata in the front 3 and that would be a winning team! Would rather see us go for de bruyne, reus or best case bale than isco. He's a great player but one of those 3 would bring so much to our attack

2.) 30 Apr 2015 07:24:27
Guys I live in Spain so I do get to watch Isco a hell of a lot and let me say the guy is a alien, he is out this world.

An amazing little footballer with crazy ball control. In a possession based team he would be incredible.

However saying this with our current team I beleive he'd be a luxury not a neccessety

Muller would b my top target for a striker. Very intelligent, makes space for other players, can play anywhere across the front 3. Doubt Bayern will sell tho. Other than that i'd take Lacazette or Kane to rotate with Rooney or push for Bale. Front 3 of Bale Rooney Depay/ADM or Depay/ADM Rooney Muller would b immense

gotta agree wiv fresh, get depay hummels clyne and mayb gundogan early and then spend the summer chasing a luxury signing without the pressure on us to sign sum1 means we can haggle more on the price and not get robbed. for a change.
even if we don't sign any1 but the above 4 i'd b happy

I'd keep DeGea and ADM and sign Otamendi and Muller. Think we would have the best XI in the prem

If De Gea, Valdes, RVP, Hernandez and Evans all leave and Wilson, Pereira and Januzaj get loans i hope we sign more than 1 more player. I believe we will sign 3 more players, making 6 in total. a CB a forward of some description and a keeper. maybe a CM as well but i don't see all 6 or 7 signings being in the first XI

Don't think moving Rooney to number 10 is an option, mata is better than Rooney in that role and arguably so are ADM, Depay and possibly Januzaj on his day. I think we will either sign Kane or Lacazette to rotate with Rooney and gradually replace him or we will try to get Muller and line up with a front 3 of Depay Rooney Muller with ADM or Mata playing no. 10 role

Benteke for under £20mil would b a good option but for £32mil plus I'd much rather bid for Muller, Lacazette or Kane in that order
