So, Juventus wants Januzaj? Deja Vú? I hope not.

Renew is contract DM.

DAVID DE GEA- Game saver today. Superb!

We once again at home nearly gave the game away.
Out defense is not good, fair enough. But at home we need starting scoring more goals since we always concede.

Anyway great to get the W. Hopefully we'll have less injuries for the next games.

Finally, good to see Falcao scoring with the RED shirt.

Loved the way falcao celebrated his goal he was so happy.

Well,
This is going to be a hell of a season.

Nick,

You are right it is, hopefully ending in a top 4 finish. West ham are a good side, they proved that last week. We are not above all of the teams we should need to be above to finish top 4 and we have one point more than we had last season under moyes (people seemed to think this was a fair stat last week so should be this week as well).

We need to improve defensively and I would prefer a few more easy wins but if we start getting a bit of a run together of home wins people will start to realise they can't come and get points and old Trafford. I actually thought we defended quite well today, west ham are tall and physical up front and I thought McNair and rojo dealt with that quite well.

2.) Our defense was immense today. A new player and a very young one stood on their feet.

Our main problem with defense is mor mental than anything else.
I'm not saying that they're great, but they're probably good enough to keep clean sheets again the teams we played so far.

From next week our real chalenges will start, with Everton. Which I hope we do enough to beat them at home.

What really matter is that we got the win. We really needed.

We should go for Di Maria if available. He's having an outstanding season.

Nick86

1.) And play him where? His best for has come at the point of a central 3 and considering we're already discussing whether to put a Kagawa, Mata or Rooney there I don't see room for Di Maria. The right should be left for Januzaj and I would hope for someone better on the left I.e. Reus.

2.) He has played some great stuff in a midfield 3 which is a bit of a surprise imo

3.) Reus for me. His directness is what we are missing badly. At around £30m he would be an absolute bargain.

4.) Di Maria has played as part of a midfield 3, in the hole, on the left and on the right wing this season, Fantastic player 11 goals and 21 assists this season. Type of winger we need, fast, can go past players easily and most importantly can cross the ball.

Plus Januzaj's future is in the no.10 position.

5.) There is no one that stands out for me more than Reus. Reus and Adnan I hope will be the two either side of van Perise next season. I'd like to see Muller come in also or Pedro. I don't think Di Maria will be leaving Madrid now after such a fantastic season.

6.) I think di Maria would frustrate me as much as Nani! Marco Reus is the man we should pull all the stops out for!

7.) Who do we go for when it turns out Dortmund won't sell us Reus, they could easily let his contract run out like they did with the striker who is joining Bayern or we wait till 2015 when his clause comes into play.
don't think Dortmund will sell they losing to many players this summer as it is and will focus on replacing them rather then selling someone they don't need to

Next season will only be more difficult.

We'll certainly be stronger and better. Liverpool will only get better, Chelsea has Mourinho and City is City, Arsenal is a doubt as always.

The money is available, we just need to hope our targets are available too. Now we just have to enjoy the last games of this season and come back next season full throttle.

Nick86

1.) I don't think Liverpool will get better personally. They aren't blessed with the best 'squad' so to speak. With them juggling Europe they won't have the luxury of putting the same team out every week.

2.) Have to admit, I'm looking forward to next season. If we can stay away from that Europa League then I expect us to have a really good go at winning the league(I know a bit premature) so long as the owners come through with the money promised and a decent manager(Van Gaal).

I'm looking forward to Everton being in the relegation scrap just as happened with Wigan under Martinez. One good season then it all went pear shaped.

I think Liverpool will struggle with the Champions league and the premiership with the squad they have. They've been lucky this season that the injuries haven't been too cruel to them.

City seem to be truning into a team of also rans regardless of how well they start a season and Jose doesn't seem to be as magical at Chelsea this time around although I'm sure I'll eat my words at some point in the next couple of seasons.

Things are changing for the better.

3.) I agree with Ste in regard to Liverpool. The rest of what you say I agree with Nick. I think Liverpool will need to spend pretty well to improve their squad to challenge on all fronts next season. Like teams got used to playing against Hernandez, I think teams will start to learn how to control Sterling. Then there's will Suarez stay or go. Personally I think he will stay on more season. Can Liverpool go through a whole again keeping Suarez and Sterling injury-free? I think Liverpool will be a strong team again next season, but I would be surprised if they are this good again. That's just my opinion though.

4.) Regarding Liverpool you can agree or not, won't matter that much. The truth is that they grow as a team since last season and I'm pretty sure they'll grow even more with some new faces.

No one can't ignore what BR is managing to do this squad.

As for the other teams, just like us, they have money to reinforce in certain areas so they'll do better as well.

5.) 27 Apr 2014 16:03:29
Superspy

Mourinho is a master tactician. He's just too good. Just watch the game today against Liverpool. He knows how to win tough games.

6.) Nick86

Spoken like a poet. You know they were offering 4/1/ and some sites 5/1 on Chelsea.

Maybe the mist is finally going away with moyes gone. Both Liverpool and Everton lose, and I have made an absolute bucket load this weekend and still due to win some more Hmmmm LOL

7.) Superspy, injuries have been lucky to us?

Enrique 24 weeks
Johnson 9 weeks
Sturridge 9 weeks
Sakho 8 weeks
Suarez 5 weeks
Courtinho 5 weeks
Lucas 5 weeks
Allan 5 weeks
Flanagan 5 weeks
Agger 5 weeks
Cissokho 5 weeks
Aspas 5 weeks
Gerrard 4 weeks
Toure 1 weeks
Henderson 1 week (and 2 further to complete his suspension)

We've had one of the worse injury hit list this season, I think only Arsenal have been hit worse.

8.) Gcu
I had chelsea at 4s really enjoyed the game.
Got 18s for sunderland, chelsea, city and arsenal.

9.) Plymouth, no you haven't. If you look on Physioroom and have done all season, then you are right down the bottom of the league table with the least injuries. Everyone gets injuries, but Liverpool have not had many out at the same time. Have you even had ANY of your important players out at the same time all season? I don't think you have, if Liverpool had even Sterling, Suarez & Sturridge out at the same time like we have had Rooney, Van Persie & Carrick out, I think Liverpool would have found it difficult.

Everyone gets injuries so injuries shouldn't be an excuse, but Liverpool have done well in the sense that they have had injuries, but not all at the same time.

10.) Jred

Damn, you are in the money and nice bet.

I only do accumulators with maximum 3 teams and just stayed away form betting that game.

Schalke is trying to ruin a very good weekend so far. I need them to win, I have a lot on them yikes.

11.) Plymouth

You are wrong we lead the league in the injury table.

12.) Liverpool are 10th in the injury table with 154 injuries.

In Physioroom, Liverpool have been near the bottom all season with number of injuries at one time.

Nice try Plymouth ;)

13.) Plymouth -

A little curious as to when Suarez was out injured? He's started 31 league games for Liverpool this season and there are two left which one would imagine he will also start. He's actually played every minute of every league game he's been eligible for.

It seems a little pathetic that you have to put Suarez's 5 match suspension down as an injury rather than what it is (a player being punished for biting another player). The same could be said of Henderson and god knows who else (I'm in no mood to go through your list to see what else you've made up).

14.) I don't think Liverpool will improve much no matter who they buy. They will not be buying the Fabregas' and Kroos' and cavanis of the world like City, Chelsea and ourselves, players to really push them to the next level.

I don't expect Gerrard, Sturridge and Henderson all to be as good as they were this season. They are a team with a great manager on great form, but Sterling/ Countinho is no Mata/ Silva/ Ozil/ Hazard, Henderson is no Toure/ Matic/ Ramsey/ Fellaini ( lolwat? ) and Gerrard will not keep going like this for ever, especially with a world cup summer.

With the right addition they will be challenging for the title ( top quality left back, central midfielder and winger, along with a right back and possibly a central defender if Agger leaves ). Not winning it, but making a decent challenge.

If our transfer window goes to plan ( 3/4 top quality players ), under the likes of Van Gaal, we will mount a decent title challenge, but the title will not be ours. City are 2 defenders away from a sure bet, and Chelsea are not far off either.

15.) Makes me laugh that you all think LVG will come in and everything will be all rosy and wonderful.

16.) Plymouth, what changed for Liverpool since finishing 7th last season? What in your opinion was the reason for you going from 7th to possibly top this year? Aspas? Sakho? Alberto? Cissokho? Of course not, the difference is BR got you playing a particular way and you have your tails up. So in other words "confidence" and "belief" is what is separating you from last season and this season.

So why can't LvG get us playing a particular way and why can't our confidence and belief return to what it was last season? Add that to a few top notch signings and we will be far better next season.

17.) PR - you just make everyone laugh on here!

18.) Makes me laugh that you're going to get oh so close to the title this year, but just not close enough, and by next season you will be nowhere near City and Chelsea.

19.) LOL at Plymouth.

All that premature celebrating.

And yes: Everything will be alight for us net season. Thanks for mentioning it. Not sure about your lot though.

20.) Danny the season isn't over yet, Sydney it's down to the fact Rodgers is a great man manager, what makes you believe LVG will be so great?

Also all these dreams of kroos, Reus, Vidal, why would they go to a team without CL, if these players become available then why would they choose MU over Madrid, City, Chelsea, Barca, Munich, PSG, dream on lads.

21.) When they talk about banana skins during the title run-in they're usually metaphorical, but Gerrard shows us that the physical banana skins are just as dangerous. All it was missing was Benny Hill music.

22.) LVG has won everything there is to win, that's what makes me believe he will do well. I bet you were one of those calling for Rodgers head last year and now your nose is so far up his a**, great man management? Hmmmm

23.) LOL. Ok Danny I forgive you for being a smart ass earlier because you seem to have a talent for it.

Mr Van Gaal please buy Muniain and Herrera.

24.) PR - your not fat and Spanish are you? Just with all this "fact" stuff.

25.) Check my post's Anon, I've always gave Rodgers my full support from the first day he came in.

26.) Also most of LVG's success came in the 90's with Ajax, who at the time had one of the best teams in Europe with the majority of the players coming through the academy, he hasn't had much success in the 00's, if I was a United fan I'd be very concerned.

27.) PR - I thought you was a united fan your on here more than your own site! What's wrong will no one talk to you on there?

28.) Plymouth, the point is we are going to be a lot better than we have been this season. I am looking forward to it.

Getting rapped at home by every top team! He really needs time.

We habe identith crisis. We don't know what we are doing or which direction qe are taking this club.

This season showed how can you ruin a team in one season only. Everything the board did this season was wrong starting from the manager and now the price to pag will be to high.

We'll be just like the other teams, we'll have to spend load of money to get back to the top.

Funny, now we have to make sure Newcastle and Sotton don't catch us up.

This is just to much to take. I wonder what Bayern going to do to us.

Nick86

1.) I thought we played pretty well in the first half. But unfortunately didn't do much after that. With better defending we could have avoided those goals and result could have much better

2.) (banter please eds)

I am really sick of this now. It isn’t even about us being beat; it is the manner in which we are beaten that is hard to take.

Man City is a top quality attacking side, but they can be got at. Yesterday, we had good opportunities to exploit space. Yet every-time we got into good positions, the players’ who played with such purpose and quality on Saturday, gave the ball away every-time. Our passing in the final third was appalling; and I have to ask myself why this is. Is it a psychological problem that seems to afflict the players’ when we play at home? I mean, is it a coincidence that we had the best away record in the league, in terms of points accumulated, in comparison to our shocking home record?

I am generally worried for the future of our great club, because there is clearly something not right at the club. Everything seems to be going backwards. Yes, we have these snippets of hope in terms of a decent performance against poor opposition; but when we come up against a top side, we are literally blown away; and I don’t believe for one minute that is because we lack quality.

Not sure where we go from here. I am not sure that this problem can be solved with money being splashed on players’; for if the will and direction isn’t there, then 200 million on players’ will do little to turn us back into a major force.

I am going on Saturday to the Villa game; and for the first time in my life, I don’t feel at all excited about the prospect of going to see my beloved team.

Where has it all gone wrong?

3.) "Where has it all gone wrong?"

Dave Moyes

4.) There were some high winds yesterday but I'm pretty sure we were figuratively blown away.

Arda is a finished product. You probably never saw him play apart from the UCL and Derbies games(probably).

Arda is trice the player Young is right now.

The truth is that he is an amazing player.

Most of United fans are pi***d because he decided to leave. If he goes to Madrid, he'll be even better playing alongside CR7.

I wish in all the luck.

Great post mate!

United fans will never be satisfied. Never ever. We always pick something to complain.

I do think that our main issue is more mental than anything else. Our defense is not great but is good enough to keep clean sheets against the teams we played so far. But the team and we supporters are to anxious to get everything done and fast and it's affecting us.

We'll get much better and by May we'll se a team that will fight for every single competition next season.

Good post Shappy!

One thing is for sure, we won't make top 4 with our current squad. Chelsea, Liverpool, City and Arsenal clearly have better chances than us.

We need reinforcements and stay away from injures(difficult this one).
Rojo is a good defender and will help a lot, but we still need another CB, CM and a winger preferable 2 to be able to compete for top 4.

I just hope we don't become complacent and end up in a Liverpool away.

We always spend a lot of money on signings but most of the time, we invest in the wrong ones.

Even thou, I'm still positive about this season because it can't be worse than the last one.
