Good luck at Watford James Garner. He needed a loan and hopefully this is a good move for him.

PogtheDog

1.) 18 Sep 2020 17:34:17
Excellent move for him this.

2.) 18 Sep 2020 18:06:52
Delighted for him. Bit of a mad club for hiring and firing so i hope he gets a good run. Effectively replacing dacoure in the squad. Big shoes to fill. He has it in him to do really well.

3.) 18 Sep 2020 18:09:58
I hope it means we get Sarr.

4.) 18 Sep 2020 18:18:04
Great move for the lad.

5.) 18 Sep 2020 19:21:44
Delighted to see him go to a team fighting for a title. It seems like the perfect move provides he gets game time. He should gain a lot from the experienced players they have there.

6.) 18 Sep 2020 20:16:33
Great move if he gets a game and doesn't sit on the bench all season.

7.) 18 Sep 2020 21:43:15
I did wonder about the links to Sarr. The recent "reports" suggest the club are considering alternative targets. With Ismailia Sarr being one that was named.

Then we loan them Garner around the same time. Maybe Garner is a sweetner in a deal for Sarr, or maybe people in the press found out we were talking to Watford and put 2 and 2 together and came up with 5. Maybe we have no interest in Sarr but was just sorting Garner's loan deal.

8.) 19 Sep 2020 15:24:33
If he’s good enough he’ll get game time, simple.

11 Sep 2020 11:06:45
Ed002 do you happen to know if we have signed Charlie McNeill from City, and Ed01 do you happen to know how good a prospect he is?

If we have then this is another talent added to list of youth talent we have picked up this summer.

Thanks.

PogtheDog

{Ed002's Note - The plan is to sign Charlie McNeill but compensation has to be agreed.}

1.) 11 Sep 2020 12:57:22
Was about to say the same Pog. Nice addition. We are building up some team of 16-18 year olds. Exciting 3 - 5 years ahead. If they can go in and give us 5 -6 quality first team players in that time we would have done well.

2.) 11 Sep 2020 14:00:36
Pog

Thought I replied to this but yes rumours he can’t sign professionally until 17th birthday which is this month. City and United prefer to agree compensation, possibly circa £1m, rather than wait 2 months for a tribunal. Originally in Uniteds academy moved to City 6 years ago, scored over 600 goals. No official word but the lad has been liking United players posts on social media.

3.) 11 Sep 2020 14:22:59
Seemingly £1,000,000 will do the trick.

4.) 11 Sep 2020 13:03:40
Hi ED02 - thank you very much for coming back to me on this. What do you make of all of our youth signings so far, and do you happen to know of any other planned signings for the youth ranks?

Have a great day and weekend Simon.

{Ed002's Note - I know nothing more of them than they are well respected.}

5.) 11 Sep 2020 15:50:24
The reality with youth players is if 1 or 2 make it in the first team from each youth level then you are doing well. We should aim for 4 or 5, but if we get a couple a year that would be phenomenal.

We have Rashford, McTominay, Tuanzebe and Henderson who are all 22/ 23 and came from the same youth side.

We have Greenwood, Williams, Laird, Mengi, Garner, Levitt, Chong who are all 18/ 19.

Of that 11 I can see 6 or 7 who have a chance of making as first team players, while the rest could become good squad players.

That would be a phenomenal return from our academy. While the likes of Mejbri, the three Spanish lads, the two from Sunderland and Charlie McNeil. Adds 7 more top quality young players to our academy. Which already boasts some very good young players.

We could well have 10-15 of our 25 man squad be academy graduates in 3-5 years time. Which really would be doing things the United way.

6.) 11 Sep 2020 16:09:35
Maybe isn't as bleak as people mske out,

7.) 11 Sep 2020 16:19:19
I know Charlie very well as my boy was with him at Utd before he went to City. He’s a good kid as are his family. Excellent goal scorer but lots of aspects he needs to work on. His nose was pushed out at City when they bought Delap. i'm on the fence about him but definitely worth a punt. Only went to City as they provided him with private education which Utd weren’t doing at the time for the younger lads.

8.) 11 Sep 2020 19:37:10
The Youth signings have been great this year from what I have seen of them. They all seem held in high regard aswell. The future looks bright, we have some decent young players already. Hannibal looks like the cream of the crop, I've been impressed with him along with mengi and pugimal. Hope a couple If not all of them get some game time this season.

9.) 11 Sep 2020 20:26:37
Great insight, cheers Blackpool 👌👍.

10.) 12 Sep 2020 04:54:14
Personally I’m very excited to see Ethan Laird, Mengi, Mejbri, Jurado, Elanga, Hoogewerf develop. I’m hoping Levitt’s loan to Charlton helps his development alongside Garner to possibly Blackburn. Chong seems to have started well in Germany as well.

11.) 12 Sep 2020 09:10:20
600 goals in youth team, sounds like an awesome prospect.

12.) 12 Sep 2020 10:43:03
Pog

I read about him a couple of months ago. He started in our academy but then moved to City, scored a lot of goals for them, something in my head says 600, but now feels unappreciated at City.

Just looked now and reports say he will cost just under £1m, to stop going to a tribunal. City are said to be negotiating over various clauses in the agreement. A tribunal could drag the saga out for several months, which both clubs would be keen to avoid. City are not happy to lose him. He can’t sign professionally until he is 17 and his 17th Birthday is this month. Over the past few weeks he has been regularly ‘liking’ United posts on Instagram, those of the United’s players.

He was coveted by several significant foreign clubs. Looks like another potentially very good signing at youth level.

26 Jul 2019 13:54:22
Henderson has finally secured his loan back to SU.

Hope he has a great season.

Wilder mentioned that the deal was hard work which is exactly what ED02 said the other day.

Great work again ED02.

Thanks.

PogtheDog

1.) 26 Jul 2019 15:08:14
Great news - hopefully he has another really good season.

It won't have done any harm him coming back to Utd for a bit during the summer. Reconnected with the club and staff and got his contract sorted.

2.) 27 Jul 2019 00:06:17
Every chance the club were stalling to see if DDG would stay.

26 Jun 2019 19:55:25
Ed02 - do you know if we have shown any recent interest in Ozan Kabak? I saw your last update on the 4th March and wondered if the situation has changed or if the recent stories are recycled old news.

Many Thanks.

PogtheDog

{Ed002's Note - He remains a cheap option being hawked around many clubs.}

1.) 26 Jun 2019 22:10:07
Many thanks for the reply ED02. Have a good evening.,

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome.}

2.) 27 Jun 2019 14:33:59
Kobak moving to Schalke04.

11 Aug 2018 13:51:48
Ed02 - do you happen to know if we are still in dialogue with anyone regarding the sales of Darmian and Rojo?

Many thanks.

PogtheDog

{Ed002's Note - Inter remain keen on Darmian and Barnett spoke with Comolli about Rojo.}

1.) 11 Aug 2018 19:09:09
That’s funny, because I need to speak to Rojo about his barnet.

2.) 11 Aug 2018 23:38:18
So we may still see Darmian go to Italy and Rojo to Turkey before the window closes.

Thanks as always for the info ed02.

{Ed002's Note - Stuff will happen.}

3.) 12 Aug 2018 11:05:14
Fingers crossed.

4.) 12 Aug 2018 12:42:33
That is great - thanks for the info ed. I wish them all the best but neither have been able to progress to the level required whilst here.

This will mean more room for movement in the transfer windows to come.

5.) 12 Aug 2018 20:59:59
Well with the Italian window closing this Friday the 17th we will soon know about Darmian.

If he does go i guess we will see Young at RB until either Valencia or Dalot are fit.

6.) 12 Aug 2018 22:18:33
Makes sense. Surprised we let TFM go out but may mean Jose will give Shaw a run out for a few games.

7.) 14 Aug 2018 04:50:05
I agree about TFM but he needs games and once Valencia and Depot are fit we have 4 for 2 and he needs games so this is best for him and us long term.

Chelsea confirm Lukaku and we have still not confirmed Varane. What are they doing.

PogtheDog

1.) 12 Aug 2021 19:24:11
Like everything with our club, it’s based on clicks and social media interactions. Messi and lukaku both big deals so I bet United are waiting to those have die down before making an announcement. Sad buts that’s how we are run, as long as he’s registered for Saturday I couldn’t care less, if they miss that deadline then I will be extremely 😡.

2.) 12 Aug 2021 20:30:04
They could still **** this up, we had Jon Obi Mikel wearing a United kit and even Fergie thought we had signed him.

3.) 12 Aug 2021 22:53:45
I assume Lukaku didn’t need the same kind of visa as he’s played here before. Varane has signed his contract and is training, no point in worrying.

{Ed002's Note - You are making this up. It is rubbish.

4.) 13 Aug 2021 05:01:33
Heard Jones is supervising Varane's medical to make sure everything is perfect and that's causing a delay.

Jones with his decade of experience wants to make sure that Varane has what it takes to hack it in the PL by conducting some stringent tests.

5.) 13 Aug 2021 10:46:28
I said I assume, that’s what most people seem to be saying including the club, it was a visa issue.

I’ve seen pictures of him in the gym at the club and believe he will be announced today so I’ve not made anything up.

6.) 13 Aug 2021 14:10:54
Well someone is making stuff up as ole said he hadn't trained with the team yet.

He is a pathetic liar as we know so it might be him but to be fair gds2.

7.) 14 Aug 2021 01:53:12
Ken,

It’s literally the post above, never said he has trained with the team, waffle and BS.

07 Aug 2021 17:48:05
Did anyone see th pic of Varane watching the game v Everton. Looks like he was stilling the babies food. Shame on him. 😂😂😂😂😂 haha.

PogtheDog

21 Jun 2021 21:39:37
That Lukaku looks good. We could do with a striker of his quality.

😂 lol.

PogtheDog

{Ed014's Note - nice grenade! 😂😂

1.) 21 Jun 2021 22:06:51
Tbf to him he’s better in every way now than he was with us…he’s also in wayyyyy better shape. Fair play to him 🤷‍♂️.

2.) 21 Jun 2021 22:42:15
Needs to bulk out a bit if he’s going to make it in the Premier league.

3.) 22 Jun 2021 00:30:47
There was no denying his goal scoring it was the rest of his game which was pants.

4.) 22 Jun 2021 13:05:36
We brought in Ighalo to replace him and buffed up Martial and were told it was DNA. Who decided that I wonder.

5.) 22 Jun 2021 13:21:35
That Di Maria has looked great for PSG for the past 5 years. Maybe we should have signed him.

The Lukaku who played for us, was overweight, had the first touch of an elephant, while his link up play was erratic.

He wasn't fully committed or happy here and wanted to move to Italy. In Italy under Conte he has worked on his first touch and link up play. He has changed his diet and looks fitter and works harder, while he is able to better link up with his teammates. Plus the system/ style which Inter have played suits him. Having a player like Laurato Martinez playing just off him has given him someone close by to link up with.

It happens. Jose Mourinho is a great manager, but he was still a poor fit for our club. Lukaku was a good player with great potential. He was a poor fit for our club at the time. He moved on and we need to as well.

Unless he is a player you'd be happy to spend another 70m on to sign then he isn't worth discussing.

6.) 22 Jun 2021 15:25:42
Sorry, aren’t players allowed to sort themselves out after they leave us?

7.) 22 Jun 2021 16:04:35
Some can’t accept that a good coach improved Lukaku when our manager thought Ighalo and Martial would be better. Easier to dismiss Lukaku now because otherwise there are questions over coaching and decision making. Nothing to see, move on.

{Ed025's Note - lukaku is quality red man, better players around him and a better coach has made him one of the best strikers in the world mate..

8.) 22 Jun 2021 18:29:40
Ed25

Yes agreed, powerful, fast and improved touch plus great goal scoring figures. I said when Ole decided to move him on I thought it was only acceptable if they had a top centre forward coming in. We know what Ole decided on Martial and Ighalo yet Lukakus numbers are excellent, a good coach in Conte and his national manager improved him. Now we paid millions to have Ighalo on loan. Judgement and coaching have been shown to be appalling. It’s not just Lukaku though, AWB was brought in at great cost, Shappy and co declared It was great by Ole. Now we are looking for another right back. The other thing is we still haven’t replaced Lukaku and don’t look like doing this year. It’s amateur.

{Ed025's Note - to be fair red man romelu wanted away in the end, i dont think he saw this man utd side under ole fulfilling his asperations mate, im with you in thinking he has improved since he left and if he was to leave inter im sure he would have no shortage of suitors..

29 May 2021 21:59:47
If that does not show the board what can be done if you appoint a world class manager then nothing will. Taking over from Lampard when Chelsea were down and out to top 4, fa final and CL winnners. Congrats to Chelsea.

Let's hope they take notice but I bet we are still playing rubbish football under the same rubbish manager next season.

Ed14 you jest, but what if Ronald tells ole he can’t play with McFred and needs to play with VDB to get the best out of him. He has then solved our issue.

PogtheDog

{Ed014's Note - I’m not sure replacing McFred with VDB is the right way to do it.

You need Ronaldo to say I want a genuine defensive mid, a younger Matic then you can really start sorting things out.

Ole really is wasting what you have, there’s no way Wolves should have run rings around to the extent they did even if you still managed to win the game.

Decent sides will punish your lack of nous defensively.

So many times I’ve watched sides run through your midfield and straight onto your back line.

Tuchel has sorted Chelsea’s defence out in no time. Ole is still fannying around with his piss poor coaching staff.

If we sell DVB and Pogba does not sign a new contract then come next season our midfield options are McFred and an even older Matic. Is the manager and our board really that stupid…. I would say yes. Haha.

You say the Wolves game was meaningless. It may have been to us but Wolves we’re at home in front of their fans and I am sure they would have wanted to put in a great performance for them and the departing manager…. And VDB was MOM.

We sign a DM, and then we will see a better VDB and Pogba if he stays. It won’t happen but NcFred should go first.
