Just seen that we were working on bringing in Reus and Laporte but haven't been able to agree the prices. Athletic wanted €50m for Laporte but don't know about Reus, anyone else heard anything? Between them and Martial I think that would have just about been problem sorted. Anything else would have been a bonus

Dealing with Bilbao on deadline day, déjà vu that again ha. Be 2 great buys mind, would prefer Griezmann personally along with Laporte.

2.) 01 Sep 2015 09:38:48
Looking likely we'll be paying €50m+ for a relatively unknown, untested 19 year old, I'd suggest Laporte looks like a comparative steal. Reus would be great but I'm too realistic to see this happen.

3.) 01 Sep 2015 09:49:07
How could we sign those 2 when the windows are closed.

{Ed002's Note - The transfer window is open until 1800 today.}

4.) 01 Sep 2015 09:59:16
Greizmann not leaving from what I've heard. Reus will be good signing but didn't we lack strikers ?

5.) 01 Sep 2015 11:04:59
Definetly go for Laporte!

6.) 01 Sep 2015 11:10:41
Both would be great signings. I don't see either happening though.

U20's keeper Dean Henderson has joined the mighty Grimsby Town on loan till January. Would expect him to get some game time with Mckeown struggling past few weeks. Hopefully he can help us stay up and give league 2 a good crack.

RedWill i'm also from grimsby and also think he should get game time and like you say help keep us in a division that took a while to reach so strengthen our position in the league for the long term.

2.) 31 Aug 2016 20:13:56
Hopefully you get promoted :-), see you next year.
SUFC.

3.) 31 Aug 2016 22:26:49
Think promotion might just be out of reach this season herbie haha. We can dream though.

Mourinho has given Rashford, CBJ and TFM places in the 1st team dressing room so they obviously all fit into his plans for this year. Great news.

RedWill

1.) 18 Jul 2016 13:14:19
Not really sure what that means but I would be extremely surprised if that wasn't the case, all 3 of them deserve a chance this season.

2.) 18 Jul 2016 13:29:26
I agree will. I hope Pereira get a slot also all 4 have great potential and should get some extended game time this season.

everyones talking about the new signings but who do people think will have the most impact out of the players we've already got? For me I think getting Shaw back if he plays how he did last year would be like a new signing, loved watching him bomb forward and seemed like he could have made a good pairing for Memphis on the left side before his injury. Also think Spyder, Memphis, Schweinsteiger and possibly Herrera could have much better seasons under Jose. And I'm expecting TFM to get a lot more game time and possibly start to fight for a regular 1st team spot.

Whatever you think of him as a person, I loved seeing Ronaldo on the touch line 5 minutes from full time tapping his watch at the referee, learnt from the best.

1.) 11 Jul 2016 09:43:45
I know, Mourinho taught him well it seems.

2.) 11 Jul 2016 09:45:57
Hes so passionate and that's what i admire about him.

3.) 11 Jul 2016 11:04:03
Red,

Mourinho? I could see a lot of Fergie in him. That passion and emotion is the reason why he has become the player he has, he works hard because he strives to be the best. Last night was not about making it all about him, it was about making sure the other players knew what it meant, what an inspirational captain, what a man and what a professional.

4.) 11 Jul 2016 11:29:13
Really Gds so true. He is so passionate and loves the sport so much its strange people still doubt him.

You hit the nail on the head i reckon he could well be a manager in the future.

5.) 11 Jul 2016 11:29:50
Agreed GDS. Wish we had more winners like him in our team!

6.) 11 Jul 2016 11:59:03
Singh my thoughts exactly. He would make a passionate manager one day.

7.) 11 Jul 2016 12:47:47
Maybe the one after the one after Jose?

8.) 11 Jul 2016 13:08:10
Loved watching it he kicked every ball from the side line. If you could bottle his will to win and determination it would be worth a few Bob.

9.) 11 Jul 2016 23:34:02
Watching Ronaldo on the touch line and I thought to my self, he has everything needed to be a top inspirational manger when he hangs his boots.

It seems Madrid are wanting a big influx of cash before they go for Pogba, if only they had a French CB and a German CM that someone could take off there hands for a tidy little sum.

RedWill

1.) 29 Jun 2016 09:14:24
If they're that desperate, they can sell us their welsh winger.

2.) 29 Jun 2016 09:41:21
Will

Best idea in a long time, 100% agree. It would be a scary team to play with Kroos and Varrane and the rest in the line up. yum yum.

3.) 29 Jun 2016 09:41:51
Well last time we managed to snatch a player from Madrid to come and not play in the Champions League it worked a treat and he seemed really motivated! I would be very wary of any player signing from a team who could win the Champions League to come and play in the Europa.

4.) 29 Jun 2016 10:34:34
I'd be delighted if we got Varane, not sure if Kroos is what we need in CM. Question marks over his mobility and ability to play at the pace of the Prem where he may be put under more pressure.

5.) 29 Jun 2016 10:44:07
GDS I don't think Di Maria can be used as a generalisation of every player, he was a mercenary who was only interested in a pay check until he could get his move to Paris. A lot of foreign players will have loved this club there whole life and a chance to be part of something under Jose could easily out way 1 season with out premier league football.

I would be more than happy with a Matic in the form he was a couple of seasons ago. Then if Woodward still feels like he's got too much cash burning a hole in his pocket, a player Kroos would go down very nicely.

Anyone who watched the rugby in Australia would have seen how you're supposed to play for an England shirt. We just need Eddie Jones' football playing cousin to take over the managerial role :P.

Once on City's books, I would say he has the potential to be great but not sure he's there just yet. Fills our need though of an extra full back on the cheap though.

Didn't LVG plan on bringing him in and building a team around him until his injury? No need for him now. A poor mans Fellaini.

I think they have some form of tracker in them as well to see how fast and how far they are running.

I would go with Manolas 100%, for me he has every quality I would want in a CB, and then partner him with smalling. Not having to worry about covering for blind would hopefully improve his game no end. I would definitely keep Blind as utility player though, him on the bench is cover for 3 positions.
