Sanchez at Carrington

1.) 22 Jan 2018 08:22:34
I've just seen this on sky sports.

2.) 21 Jan 2018 23:57:51
I read that both clubs are having to update work permits which is why the announcement is taking a while. I wonder if any of the Eds can confirm whether this is the case?

{Ed002's Note - Obviously they need changing - you make it sound like there is a delay.}

3.) 22 Jan 2018 12:56:57
Work permit won't be much just a case of updating the address of the employee and employers details.

Reports state,

Real Madrid and Man Utd have agreed the sale of Morata for 62 million. ALVARO left his holiday early to go to manchester to get deal done.

Hi lads

Great to see the site buzzing again and some oldies coming back ed002 also.

Im feeling good Zlatan contract extension has not been exercised so long as we acquire a top goalscorer. I have one worry and that relates to the possible regression of players coming through, If JM does his job right he will have a great rotatable squad full of talent and high spirits.

How would you feel if we signed lindelof and keane, Then sent out on loan smalling/ Blind or both with recall clause.

Then if we offload WR, AY, MD, PJ, LS and AJ, Is it safe to say we will have sufficient strength in depth and Cover with TFT and Tuanzebe promoted

Reddevilfan.

1.) 10 Jun 2017 10:48:11
Jesus! can't u just spell the full name of our players :D.

2.) 10 Jun 2017 11:41:38
Who the hell is TFT? Literally the only only who is often known by his initials you got wrong 😂.

3.) 10 Jun 2017 11:52:59
Timothy fosu tornado? Surely u have all heard of that little whirlwind?

4.) 10 Jun 2017 11:42:17
If we signed lindelof and Keane, along with Bailly, Marcos Rojo, Tuanzabe etc why loan out Smalling and blind? If we don't think Smalling is good enough for our squad, which he isn't, then sell him. Blind is ok cover as he's her versitle. Keane I'm not keen on at all. Think there's plenty better options that him. Don't get the Keane love in.

5.) 10 Jun 2017 13:29:26
Keane had a very good game against Germany. Therefore he has become a Young in demand top player.
I've only seen the odd highlight here and there this season and he has played well with the edpected mistake her and there.
Being an former UTD youth player there will always be a love in. I don't think he's quite there yet but he may get there at UTD, but he might be better off at Burnley for another season.

6.) 10 Jun 2017 13:39:02
Why not just sell smalling and blind and who will want them on loan in the first place, also if we sell luke shaw we will only have 1 lb for atleast first half of the season as rojo will be out for a long time, how is that sufficient depth and cover.

7.) 10 Jun 2017 15:44:47
Stand, I don't get the Keane transfer either. as you said there has to be better options out there.

8.) 10 Jun 2017 14:55:11
Jones should be soldiers before those two. BLind has got a footballing brain, comfortable on the ball and can pick out a pass. A versatile squad player that can cover numerous positions. Arguably invaluable because of that reason.
Smalling like Jones is error prone but his has the pace to make up for it.
Both Smalling and Jones are injury prone. Injury prone players have been out Achilles over the past 5 seasons.
EDS are there any interest in Smalling and Jones?

9.) 10 Jun 2017 23:05:46
Of our current bunch Bailly is by far our best Cb, and judging by last season Rojo is easily our next best. The season under LVG he played Lb was was terrible. This season moved into Cb I thought he was fantastic for the most part. I'd sell jones, Smalling and blind before him for CB.

10.) 14 Jun 2017 14:20:48
I would spell all their names but im on Android phone and it auto corrects when i press send.

26 Nov 2016 15:01:31
Did the JM public criticism of players give the players the kick up the backside they needed and stop players believing they were bigger than the club? I feel Jones has a chance to prove his worth and doing it and Miki is beginning to find his feet, This will probably mean we might kick on with securing CL qualification this season.

If fans have a ST and they don't show up to a game they still pay the club and get no refunds.

If you owned Manchester United would you deal the same hand to players who failed to show up after 2/3 games, If I was in charge I would, then maybe they might focus more on the pitch instead of the bank balance.

I did say yesterday that UTD & Soton had agreed a 24.5 mill deal for schneiderlin yesterday and look what's happened today.

No schneiderlin in training at Soton as he is ill lol. Anyone check Our medical centre yet.

1.) 06 Jul 2015 17:04:53
Yep d deal has been agreed . bt dey dnt want to anouce it yet .u find out 2moro. glory glory . and dere is possible transfer going underground

2.) 06 Jul 2015 17:07:39
Seems like it's false and he isn't ill. Even if he was ill he could have attended the team meetings.

3.) 06 Jul 2015 17:11:18
Lifeofismarhill are you Ali G

4.) 06 Jul 2015 17:13:09
Or you know. Could genuinely be ill?

5.) 06 Jul 2015 17:24:18
Is this just how he was not mentally prepared or feeling well enough last year when Tottenham came for him? I think Koeman is ready to sell and it'll go through soon.

6.) 06 Jul 2015 17:28:28
Koeman literally just said that Schneiderlin is travelling with the rest of the squad to Austria for pre-season.

A reply to Pique post ref Roy Keane

That sums it up right there in the second last sentence. it was 'Roys Dressing Room'.
The main difference in Manchester United when they were winning things and the before and after.
So, those who say if he was such a leader then why has he not been as successful as a manager? Back then Roy was playing, so he wasn't asking anyone to do what he wasn't seen to be doing himself, and he was proving on the pitch that he had the authority to 'own' the dressing room. His actions on the pitch gave credibility to his voice off it.

1.) 22 Mar 2018 15:33:00
We lack leaders for sure and that is very evident when things are going badly. Nobody steps up and pulls the team up or calls for calmness when need be. Valencia should not be captain but I can’t see anyone in the mound of Keane in today’s football. Keane, Evra, Vidic, Ferdinand Neville were the embodiment of sir alex on the pitch. They themselves had such high standards and knew what it meant to play for united. Today the players who should be standing up such as smalling, Jones, Valencia and young do not do it. Add the high number of player turnover and managers and you can see why the values of sir alex have gone. Jose needs players on the pitch who would run through brick walls for him and fight for him. He has a few in matic Lukaku bailly and De Gea. But the others aren’t at the moment and we need the players to step up. The mentality is not right and it is clear Jose is testing the players and provoking a reaction to see if they can handle the pressure. I would give it to Lukaku as I think he clearly leads from the front on the pitch. I think he won’t shirk away from the responsibility and won’t burden him down. I think he would flourish.

2.) 22 Mar 2018 19:48:25
Park, you're either a leader or you're not. There's no in between. You can't suddenly make Shaw or martial or fellaini into leaders. They have to prove on a day to day basis that they can lead the team. This applies to training and all daily matters.

3.) 22 Mar 2018 20:25:06
I don’t see any leaders. We have some great players and some are as tough as nails but I am not seeing big personalities who can direct a team and grab them by the scruff of the neck. It’s a gap right now I think.

4.) 22 Mar 2018 20:33:14
That’s true AAA I’m not expecting shaw to be a leader. But at least step up and have a stronger mentality. That can be developed.

25 Feb 2018 08:17:21
Just for fun

How many lads here would take pochettino of spurs to manage utd now?

Or do we stick with the same JM boring football. Poll below

{Ed033's Note -

Pochettino or Mourinho Poll

1.) 25 Feb 2018 08:50:48
The reults so far spk volumes for some of the 'supporters' on here.

2.) 25 Feb 2018 09:17:49
So anyone who doesn’t want to keep Jose isn’t a real supporter?

3.) 25 Feb 2018 09:27:50
Ezrs it actually speaks volumes on the quality of the job mourinho has done.

4.) 25 Feb 2018 09:37:18
The results so far says people want a more entertaining team. When you end a game thinking you are lucky to have the best keeper bail you out of trouble on nearly a weekly basis while you don't create much chances you do think we need to improve.

And Pochettino is one of the better coaches going around and that can be proved by Real Madrid having him as one of their main choices if they replace Zidane.
Pochettino plays high energy football, develops youth and regularly challenges for top four. The only thing that he hasn't achieved is win major trophies but I think that will come for him in time. Nobody expects Spurs to win any trophy at the start of the season anyway.

5.) 25 Feb 2018 10:44:08
Jose -Born winner 😆😆.

6.) 25 Feb 2018 10:55:39
Seems to have been the argument since SAF left, win trophies or play exciting football, we don’t seem to have been able to mesh both BUT who has, Pep has city playing good possession football, I don’t think City are the best flair team in the league tho. Poch, Klopp, Wenger all play this attacking, free flowing football and come nowhere near a trophy, José has been very pragmatic in the main but has won us trophies and get us highest in the league since SAF, so again it boils down to style vs substance and the legacy of Fergie continues to get better, we probably admire Fergie more now for achieving both style and substance than when he was here, it’s not easy clearing to combine the two.

7.) 25 Feb 2018 11:26:35
Spoiled by Fergie 😁😁.

8.) 25 Feb 2018 11:28:00
Pep turned city's defenders around in 12 months though. stones wind more headers and tackles big improvement. and otamendi his passing and overall game has improved under pep.
We can say we haven't conceded a lot but there's 0 improvement in our defence.

9.) 25 Feb 2018 11:28:29
Pochettino has achieved as much as Moyes did at Everton but with more money to spend.

10.) 25 Feb 2018 11:30:18
I want jose to stay. I also want the football to improve. I would like to see him have 1 more window to complete his squad. I know that's not the mist popular view but i honestly believe that with a couple of proper full backs a cb and a midfielder to olay alongside pogba and matic things would improve dramatically.
I think we will see a very positive reaction from pogba over the next 5 games starting today. A couple are must not lose games but 3 or 4 are must win games.

11.) 25 Feb 2018 12:26:31
Leahy. Pep sold 5 defenders and soent a world record for a rb a world record for a lb. Club record 2nd highest in world for a new cb and spend near 50m on keepers.
Did he imorove kolorov? Zabeleta? Sagna? Clichie? Hart? Navas? Nolito inneacho? Nasari? No he didn't he sold them all in 1 window plus others. Suddenly the likes of sterling sane stones look much better because they have better around them.
Thats what needs to happen to smalking rojo valencia yiung fellaini darmian blind etc. Then maybe pogba martial lukaku etc will shine a bit more.

12.) 25 Feb 2018 12:25:48
Spurs are a good team with a manager that gets the best out of what he s got and not cries over money I can imagine how good he do with 300 million.

13.) 25 Feb 2018 12:48:48
Ken that's never going to happen with smalling and rojo, they aren't good enough full stop.

14.) 25 Feb 2018 13:05:00
That's my point leahy he needs to be allowed sell the poor players like pep was and build his squad.

15.) 25 Feb 2018 13:10:20
Joyred: I missed when Moyes finished 2nd with Everton or even top 3, remind please.

16.) 25 Feb 2018 13:29:04
Jose and us fans don't trust Smalling Shaw and to some extent Jones and Blind . The defence needs an upgrade and hopefully that will include an Umtitti or a Varane. 😆😆.

17.) 25 Feb 2018 16:16:59
The poll introduction wasn't exactly written from an independent mind, lol.

12 Feb 2018 18:14:08
If we based our players vs newcastle to a car, I believe it would be an atrocious looking vehicle. I will start from the back we have a lovely spoiler (GK) attached to a garbage truck (def), Central body of a Mitsubishi Canter (mid) and the front of a Mitsubishi Lancer SLR (Attack of M, L, S, R) with the bumper of the Garbage truck.

We have the potential to be a tvr but play like the above.

Clear out need and quicker ball players needed to accommodate Sanchez and martial etc. LUKAKU seems sluggish

Just my opinion of UTD playing at the minute.

1.) 12 Feb 2018 19:03:17
Think yourselves lucky we are like an old alphasud. More holes in than a sieve.

2.) 12 Feb 2018 20:05:03
Lollllllll u missed the bonnett.

20 Jan 2018 22:37:30
Just watched highlights of the Fulham game against Burton. The young lad T Cairney looks a cracking young talent. The discussion on Sky Sports about him was not wrong. He picked out several key passes and kept the game flowing.

Would you guys take him.

1.) 21 Jan 2018 00:20:08
HOW OLD IS HE?

2.) 21 Jan 2018 00:45:49
27 yesterday. Great Championship player - one of the best. Would be a good signing for a non-top-6 side that play with a playmaker at 10. Palace, Southampton, Newcastle maybe, though West Brom are the ones looking at him at the moment.

3.) 21 Jan 2018 09:51:16
Been to quite a few Fulham games as my mate is a season ticket holder with his Dad. If he can't go I normally tag along.

A quality player Cairney. Superb left foot and good vision. Good enough for us? No. But definitely good enough for the Premiership.

Hes the Fulham skipper and seems to really love the club. Plus I think Fulham want about 15-20 mill for him and he signed a new contract last season I think.

20 Jan 2018 19:10:47
It was a scrappy 3 points, that was uneasy on the eye to watch but 3 points all the same. Jose needs to have words with the players about selfish glory hunting, This is not schoolboy football. It won't be long before we start to rue these missed chances or get annoyed at selfish glory hunting players.

I speak for all when I say that the golden boot is a big achievement come the end of the season but goals win games and points win the league, Glory hunting will only win envy and the player who did not receive a pass, Will make sure not to pass back when he sees a chance. This needs to be addressed immediately if we are to stand a chance, We must win every game from here on in and hope 3 teams can win city or 2 wins and 3 draws. Man Utd have lead by 12 at New Years only to loose at the final game. It can be done so keep faith.

What's your player pick for Spurs. And does Shaw or young get LB for the next game.

1.) 20 Jan 2018 21:21:01
Good post reddevilfan. I would start shaw against spurs as I think we look for balanced with a natural left footer overlapping martial on the left. We need to go three in midfield and I would look at bringing Herrera in although I think we will see Fellaini playing. Just a quick note regarding Fellaini, I would be miffed if I was Herrera and Fellaini was getting minutes instead of him. As far as I’m concerned, Fellaini is a contract Rebel and wants out of the club. he should not be getting minutes over people that are more committed and who want to be at the club. We should be looking to move him on either this window or phase him out slowly for the rest of the season.

I would play Sanchez on the right, Martial left and big rom up top against spurs. I think we have the team to do them but I really hope we attack them and take the game to them. They have started to hit some form so it won’t be easy but we have enough about us to win.

2.) 20 Jan 2018 22:38:03
Spurs is one of two away games left for us. City being the other. If we can get a result there, then confidence will be sky high for the rest of the season.

Ed 004

I don't want martial to leave and obviously ZI will force him down the pecking order.

If this happens I would very much rather AM go on loan to another PL club. If AS leaves Arsenal then I would like AM to go on loan there with obvious clauses etc. The Perisic issue is dragging out and highlights MUFC issue with not paying the asking fee at that present time. The 20m increase is on us and hopefully we learn.

{Ed004's Note - But what incentives would Arsenal have to play and develop our youngster? It would probably make more sense to loan him as part of any deal for Perisic.}

Agree with a lot of that and players are only running on 6/ 10 apart from bailly, Herrera, Jones, Miki and rojo which you lot want axed? Is he not good to have as cover?

We need a vote here too see how many believe griezmann will make it at UTD and not turn into another Forlan.

AG fits well into the way AM play. We do not play like AM and I think it will take AG a season to play well.

Oh let's buy Pogba. Yet nobody bar 1 or 2 read what Ed002 said. Pogba/ Agents DEMANDS meant RM stepping back.

IMO I bet he wants a lot of clauses in his contract. So let's buy Pogba for €100 million and loose him for App €25 million next season 2017 when he throws a tantrum or finds a watch.

Great post shappy

If we signed Veratti ( PSG need to sell to balance the books ), Jorginho and Kimmich then I for one would be very very happy. Thus also made sweeter with all the prospect of developing players in Chong, Gomes, TFM etc etc then we will soon be playing a youthful squad and no more OAPs.

I'm not a regular poster I prefer to read than write but none of us have got it right and 02 has his head wobbled with all the other what ifs.

Reg Miki, Sanchez and M. Riola.

Its not just about the players or Agent. Arsenal don't want to be seen to have been robbed or giving away players easily as the fans will go mad etc

This has to be best for both players? Having to uproot and move is not easy and what we value miki at Arsenal might see it less

First reports were 35 plus miki. How does that make miki feel so the Agent has said this to boost miki confidence

On his day miki can be great and at Arsenal he will flourish not to mention he is multi lingual. He can speak or translate for others in Arsenal and is better suited to their style of play.

Oh and

Straight player swap is ideal. The if miki plays exceptionally well into next season then Arsenal can sell for 60/ 80 million or more so they are not loosing on the sanchez of deal.

Thanks Ed002

I'm not good with shares and stocks etc or the financial aspect of our club. My question has to do with this sale of shares.? I know your not a Glazier or a God and can't predict what they spend money on or who they spend it. So

Does the $70 mill USD need to be generated for the good of MUFC regarding FFP, Purchase interest payments or just a tip to the reps and facilitators of the AON tour.

If you have any knowledge of this if be grateful if you could share your thoughts on the subject matter.

Regards
Reddevilfan.

{Ed002's Note - The money is nothing to do with MUFC at all. The money goes to whoever owns the shares.}
