Although swap deals in football are very rare, could we not see Morata/ Varane swap for De Gea?

After all we have Joel Pereira and Romero and could maybe bring in the next big thing in France in Alban LaFont?

He is apparently going to be fighting for the French no. 1 jersey in no time!?

1.) 03 Jun 2017 12:44:11
That's a no from me.

2.) 03 Jun 2017 12:48:06
Hope not.

3.) 03 Jun 2017 14:19:50
Here we go. Alban la font 😂.

4.) 03 Jun 2017 15:38:47
He's not as good as Pepé Le Pew.

5.) 03 Jun 2017 15:39:37
Ronnie, we have a very promising goal keeper in Joel Pereria. Why would you want to dump him for another young keeper?

6.) 03 Jun 2017 17:33:56
caolan c'mon mate, lafont is 18 young upcoming while perierra is 20 already too old well into his retirement.

7.) 03 Jun 2017 18:51:15
I must be ready for the nursing home csm I'm 21 in a few months!

8.) 04 Jun 2017 19:57:09
So is there anything to say no to having the best two young goalkeepers in France and Portugal?

9.) 04 Jun 2017 23:02:31
Not unless we are going to start playing games with 2 goalkeepers. I've heard of parking the bus but not sure that's allowed.

26 May 2017 18:04:34
Apparently Utd are interested in Lucas Moura to OT this summer? Could he bring Marquinhos with him too please?!

1.) 26 May 2017 18:27:07
I think if you do that without the other person's permission, it is called kidnapping ronnie. Don't think it is strictly legal.

2.) 26 May 2017 19:05:35
Wow, my time machine really worked!

3.) 26 May 2017 19:34:38
Rumour is We are also after Sjneider too Wazza!

4.) 26 May 2017 19:56:14
And Gaitan.

5.) 26 May 2017 19:59:37
Bale has been posted above 😂 I've heard Ronaldinho is about to snub us for Barca.

6.) 26 May 2017 20:27:06
Shearer could solve our goal scoring problems, do we know if he is available?

7.) 27 May 2017 08:08:52
would both be good players to bring in Ronnie i eould like Layporte and Nianggolon.

8.) 27 May 2017 10:29:28
Hug me, the sarcasm on here is staggering. It's a rumours site for people to talk about and post rumours they have seen or heard.

9.) 27 May 2017 10:57:33

It's also a banter site and some of us have had to put up with the same rumours for for 8 years, I'm sure you can deal with a bit of sarcasm.

10.) 27 May 2017 18:18:01
Hats Of GDS2.

15 May 2017 17:44:02
Apparently Leverkusen have transfer listed Hakan Calhanoglu?

Would've Utd show'd any interest?

{Ed025's Note - not that i am aware of ronnie..

09 May 2017 20:00:36
Who are our main defensive targets assuming Smalling, Jones, Darmian are going and Rojo and Shaw are soon to follow?

Henrichs has been linked a lot?

{Ed004's Note - listen to the sharkopod}

1.) 09 May 2017 20:32:40
Ronnie the sharkopod is posted. Listen to it.

2.) 09 May 2017 22:12:11
Another top sharkopod, cheers ED002.

04 May 2017 16:53:16
Is there any interest shown in Ederson and Marquinhos as some reports are suggesting?

{Ed002's Note - Manchester City has been speaking to Benfica about Ederson Moraes all season. Marquinhos is a player Mourinho wanted at Chelsea and even though PSG don't want to sell they think the player will turn down a new contract which might make them listen to offers. The prior interest of van Gaal may have returned with Mourinho and a couple of others sides could be interested if he were to be available.}

1.) 04 May 2017 17:18:40
Thanks again Ed002!

19 Jun 2017 13:24:15
Am i the only one who thinks this whole Ronaldo debarkle is just CRAP!

For the money being touted about we could bring in Morata AND Dybala!

Also Ronaldo is sponsored by NIKE, we as a football club are now ADIDAS and commercially would make much more financial sense Morata (who is Adidas) and Dybala (who according to reports will soon be Adidas also) to be at our club! Not to mention Ronaldo is 32/ 33? Morata/ Dybala 24 and 23 respectively!

It's crazy!

Go to Paris Mate!

1.) 19 Jun 2017 13:33:52
We have more chance of winning silverware with Rinaldo than any other.

2.) 19 Jun 2017 13:48:33
Yeah go to Paris mate . Best footballer to ever have played the game, a goal machine who would almost guarantee success . But because he wears a different sports brand let's spend the same amount on two players that are not even comparable because they wear three stripes instead of a tick .

3.) 19 Jun 2017 13:49:32
It won't happen in any case but for the record, i would take Ronaldo over Morata and Dybala any day of the week!

4.) 19 Jun 2017 14:13:26
I think he'd find adapting to the prem again difficult, the prem is much more challenging and he still throws himself to the floor in la liga!

5.) 19 Jun 2017 14:18:55
I agree with Ronnie (never thought I'd say that), I don't understand the blind devotion to a 32 year old who left us to pursue his dream. For the numbers began quite we could build a new team. Good post Ronnie.

6.) 19 Jun 2017 14:32:17
Like a stopped clock, Ronnie is right.

A world record fee for a player who'll be 33 before the season starts, you're all off your heads on strawberry yazoo.

7.) 19 Jun 2017 14:44:28
Sorry ronnie but an absolutely woeful argument about the addidas/ nike thing. what the hell does that have to do with anything. If anything addidas would prefer to have ronaldo as it would sellmore shirts than dybala and morata combined.

8.) 19 Jun 2017 14:46:30
Maybe I woke up on the wrong side of bed this morning but I hope the Club don't get embroiled in this Ronaldo nonsense, we all know how it ends!

I'd hate for us to lose sight of our objectives and throw our pre season preparations into turmoil.

Jose has given the Club his list of targets and in my opinion the Club should work hard to fulfil them asap.

Just because a player wants to leave doesn't mean the Club has to sell. He's under contract so he can cry and complain as much as he wants but if Madrid say he's not for sale he's going nowhere. They hold all the cards not Ronaldo and if they did decide to cash in surely the numbers being reported in the media wouldn't make financial sense.

If he loved us so much he wouldn't have left in the first place!

Thanks for the memories but man up, pay your tax bill and stop using our Club as your own personal negotiating puppet!

Surely this has less to do with tax and more to do with Messi's bumper new contract. It's not about the money, but what the money represents. The blokes a narcissist and he will want parity with Messi.

As a Utd fan our course I'd welcome him back, he's still the best in my opinion, but we still need other players and I just don't believe for one minute he has any intention of returning.

9.) 19 Jun 2017 15:04:40
I agree Danny. For the record I'd welcome him back with open arms purely because, if the best footballer on the planet becomes available you shouldn't ignore it. I also think it's complete and utter nonsense. He's using the love affair with United to his benefit, whether it's a new deal or this tax stuff. Woodward needs to get the other deals over the line and if Ronaldo is still there pining for a return come the end of the window then see what deal can be done. If the money men think they can get him after the original targets are signedthen so be it, sign him up.

10.) 19 Jun 2017 15:04:56
Thing is where Ronnie is concerned you can't help but let emotion get in the way - personally I can't see what unfinished business he has here - I would also say the club is a lot lot different than it was under Fergies reign .

I think its a nice idea but I would concentrate on the original targets JM had - and not get distracted by Ronaldo.

Would take little Pea back though if he has learnt the offside rule, his head went down under LVG and he does have unfinished business here, I think he could have shown Martial a thing or two last season when it comes to effort and dedication to the shirt.

11.) 19 Jun 2017 15:27:47
Have to agree with Ronnie, Danny and others. Madness to be talking about breaking the bank to bring back a 33 year old who chose to leave and spend his peak years at a European rival.

I think 4 years of suffering with an aging squad is enough and we are finally looking like a team that will only get better and better with a young core. To build a great team we need to bring through some of the youth who are good enough and buy the budding stars of the future. That has always been our recipe.

I suspect as usual our name gets dragged in for the purpose of whatever his camp is trying to get out of Madrid.

12.) 19 Jun 2017 15:30:20
Personally I don't think it will happen as Jose is a team builder which would not suit bringing in Ronaldo.
The money it would allegedly take is crazy and could better be spent setting other positions up for the next 5 years.
With all a that said. If we are still able to bring others in as well as him I would be cheering him on like a small boy at his first game. Would definitely set old Trafford a light.

13.) 19 Jun 2017 16:11:51
The only number that matters to me right now is goals scored.

Dybala would be a great long term signing in theory - but like almost every other top player before him I can see him wanting a move to one of the big Spanish teams in two or three years just as he starts hitting his peak (especially if we're still lagging behind them in European competition) .

Ronaldo would give us at least two good seasons of 20+ goals and hopefully create a platform of success for us to build on.

14.) 19 Jun 2017 17:10:37
Whatever the outcome (I personally think it's a done deal) it's got us all commenting on it. We can afford him and at least we can account for quite a lot of the Glazers money this summer instead of them taking it away from the club we can see it being spent on Ronaldo, Morata, Bakayoko , Lindelof, Willian, and Pericic. STAY SAFE DUDES 😆😆.

15.) 19 Jun 2017 17:29:12
Madrid would be laughing all the way to the bank. At his age a injury likes Ibrahimovic's and we're snookered.
ED002 has said it's more likely next summer he leaves.

16.) 19 Jun 2017 18:09:08
Thanks to the guys for supporting my post especially AJH!

Cheers fellas!

16 Jun 2017 12:37:20
Are the rumours about André Gomes true?

Sure he's been dire at Barça, but at Valencia he looked a gem!

At 23 I think he'd be a great buy!

1.) 16 Jun 2017 13:32:56
No he wont. I said at the time he's lightweight and very inconsistent and it proved that way.

2.) 16 Jun 2017 14:15:26
Rather a punt on renato sanches.

3.) 16 Jun 2017 14:49:45
Totally agree Eric.

4.) 16 Jun 2017 16:35:15
Rather a punt on rene from allo allo.

12 Jun 2017 19:29:31
If Rooney is set to leave, I would love to see Dele Alli come in as our new no. 10!

The guy is still young and learning and you've seen how he links with Kane and I could see the same thing happening with Morata?

1.) 12 Jun 2017 19:39:19
Good luck with that.

2.) 12 Jun 2017 19:46:05
I would love Alli but it's never going to happen.

3.) 12 Jun 2017 20:47:51
Ronnie, Alli is probably the best player in the league right now and as much as I would love to see him in a United shirt we've got absolutely no chance.

4.) 12 Jun 2017 20:24:38
Money always talks with Levy!

The kid is special!

5.) 12 Jun 2017 20:28:47
Ronnie i agree it would be great.

6.) 12 Jun 2017 20:34:47
He's young and learning, no surprise you rate him Ronnie.

7.) 12 Jun 2017 22:44:53
I think there's more chance of me playing in the next World Cup than Deli Alli joint Utd. I agree, he would be a great signing.

8.) 12 Jun 2017 22:45:49
Already have our number 10 sorted, he called Paul Pogba, I would give him the number 10 shirt this summer.

9.) 12 Jun 2017 23:00:33
I have no words.

No, wait, I do. I LOVE that here we are, several transfer windows after Ronnie first appeared on the site, still receiving the same relentlessly optimistic (some might say delusional) posts from him. I LOVE that after all the rational arguments he's faced down, countless incorrect predictions, and all the dogs' abuse too, he hasn't changed one bit. I LOVE that all the regular posters seem to now treat him with an equal mix of patience and indulgence, like a slightly annoying younger brother.

As a long time reader myself, I at first found him ridiculous, then irritating for a long time, then hilarious again, and now, finally, I feel I have some genuine affection for the lad, and even in some bizarre way look forward to his missives from fantasy land. I can't help but wonder if he goes about his daily life in exactly the same way, and if he does, then I for one am extremely happy for him. So here's to Ronnie: the man who owns not only one half-full glass, but also several other magic glasses, each overflowing with dreams!

10.) 13 Jun 2017 00:34:48
Early nomination for post of the year Jeff.

11.) 13 Jun 2017 07:17:48
Yeah, it's the constant names of 'young boys' that slightly bothers me.

12.) 13 Jun 2017 07:27:23
Eds, why are posts such as that from unbelievablejeff allowed through where he's clearly belittling someone. Ronnie's posts might be optimistic but he (and others) would surely be put off posting with comments like that. The best thing about this place, apart from your insights, as that it's kept mostly respectful.

{Ed001's Note - is it belittling him or is it just saying he has grown to respect Ronnie for what he is, rather than what he wanted him to be?}

13.) 13 Jun 2017 10:12:34
Wazza, I do not think that was belittling. In fact it was respectfully spot on.

14.) 13 Jun 2017 10:25:17
Oh, and Ed 1: I would say that's right, that was more or less exactly what I was aiming for. So, thanks.

15.) 13 Jun 2017 10:43:19
Sorry you feel that way mate: I wasn't aiming for disrespectful - a little tongue in cheek, a little teasing perhaps, nothing more. Like I say - genuine affection.

He does tend to pop up more during transfer windows doesn't he? And it can be slightly frustrating that he largely refuses to engage in threads he initiates, or to answer direct questions. As I imply above, I would also be interested to read his views on a wider range of topics.

Thanks pal, that's very kind of you to say.

16.) 13 Jun 2017 10:45:12

I was sure you were going to ask why posts like Ronnie's about random players get through and posted on the site not the brilliant response from Jeff. One persons post of the year is another persons belittling of a regular.

I am with AJH on this one, anyone who doesn't care about the games and is only interested in United signing young boys isn't a proper fan just a wind up merchant.

17.) 13 Jun 2017 13:37:06
unbelievablejeff, it was probably unfair that my response ended up on your post, I'd bit my tongue a few times in the past where someone has said something about Ronnie and then a few others have joined in, in all honesty this definitely isn't the worse example of that but there has been times when he's had some borderline comments aimed at him. I don't think he's a wind up merchant by any stretch, I just think he genuinely likes to see us bring in young players and develop them. To be fair, we haven't done that enough for a long time, and there's not much sign that will change given the demands of fans these days.

Sorry my reply ended up on your post.

11 Jun 2017 14:05:56
! Attention!

Marco Verratti hands in transfer request!

Go get him Woody!

1.) 11 Jun 2017 14:24:02
Probably Barcelona bound.

2.) 11 Jun 2017 14:27:17
I'd take him but seems he's Barcelona bound.

3.) 11 Jun 2017 14:27:43
He is Chelsea bound according to a Chelsea fan I know.

4.) 11 Jun 2017 14:53:49
A Chelsea fan I know said he'd like jake Livermere 😂.

5.) 11 Jun 2017 14:59:22
one of my favourite players. Fantastic footballer. Always wanted him here. Hope he goes to Barcelona. They are also chasing di maria so its entirely possible that you could see a couple of high profile departures from the noucamp as they are not cash rich and will need to fund any big moves by way of sales.

{Ed004's Note - I can't think of any Barcelona player except their front 3 that I would want}

6.) 11 Jun 2017 15:16:48
004, don't you think Rakitic, Pique, Arda, Iniesta, Alba would all improve our squad?

{Ed004's Note - Rakitic is overrated and I'd probably prefer Pogba and Herrera, I'm happy with both our centre backs, Arda is overrated and has a poor attitude, Iniesta of a few years ago yes but he's being going downhill lately and Alba is really overrated and really dislikeable}

7.) 11 Jun 2017 15:18:34
I think alba is a good left full ed and rakatic i'd take inneasta for a couple of seasons but i know what you mean ed its slim pickings😂.

8.) 11 Jun 2017 15:33:33
Jose did say there would be a surprise does anyone think it could be linked to this.

{Ed004's Note - He hasn't been linked to us and I just can't see it happening. He is an excellent player but also very injury prone}

9.) 11 Jun 2017 15:28:07
He'll end up at Chelsea mate.

10.) 11 Jun 2017 16:29:28
People need to stop getting excited by the 'surprise', did anyone expect us to go for Morata? Maybe it's him. We aren't suddenly going to sign ronaldo.

11.) 11 Jun 2017 16:46:05
Can I ask why everyone thinks he'll end up at Chelsea? Ed has stated in the past that he's hesitant to move to England and that he'd like a move to Juve.

12.) 11 Jun 2017 18:02:48
Jackson, just a haunch mate. Got a feeling he may end up at Chelsea. Cracking player.

13.) 11 Jun 2017 18:12:57
Chelsea tried in the past Jackson and he had a great respect for conte. So perhaps that's the reasoning. I have not been listening to your sharkopod so no idea if he was a target again. Great player.

14.) 11 Jun 2017 18:37:57
and where does he play at chelsea and who sits?

{Ed002's Note - You are on the wrong page.}

15.) 11 Jun 2017 21:11:02
So you are saying he would not be interested in a move and he and his previous club (PSG) would be paid hansomely for it?

Trollocks! 😂

Let's face it, we could offer a lot more than a lot of other clubs around Europe!?

16.) 11 Jun 2017 23:24:53
They want £60-70m for him?

{Ed004's Note - If he was available for that price half of Europe would be willing to pay it. I think he would cost considerably more but would be over the moon if we signed him}

17.) 11 Jun 2017 20:16:49
Verratti would walk into our team (--> Chelsea) . He could play alongside Matic, Kante, and especially Bakayoko (if he signs for us, but I'm not holding my breath) . You can also easily play a 3 man midfield with him.
I was hoping the Conte connection with Verratti could entice him to join us. But Ed has now stated on Chelsea's page that Verratti's keen on a move elsewhere. I'm guessing it's Juve or Barcelona. You don't have to worry about facing him next season ;)

18.) 12 Jun 2017 10:42:47
He has always said he wants to go back to Italy when he leaves PSG and wants to play for Juve. Do a search and he has consistently said that over the last 2 or 3 years. No surerise which means if it happens Juve will be selling a player or 2. My money is on Marchisio if Verrati ends up at Juve.

04 Jun 2017 19:46:09
If we as a club set aside £85m for Griezmann and he was also reportedly asking for £300k a week, surely we could stretch for Mbappe or Belotti and they certainly wouldn't be demanding £300k either!?

Also if De Gea leaves that's another £200k a week off the wage bill too?

Morata in? He can't be on more than £100k a week?

Rooney leaves - £250k off aswell?

Suddenley the wage bill looks considerably better!

1.) 04 Jun 2017 20:09:43
Ibra off the wage bill as well.

2.) 04 Jun 2017 20:14:13
That's another 500,000 a week saved.

3.) 04 Jun 2017 22:00:53
If Mbappe is currently on £40k (a guess) then he's never going to be given much more than £150k when he next gets a pay rise.

4.) 04 Jun 2017 23:28:43
I don't follow the logic of the wage differences. Any agent worth their salt will exploit how the buying club rate their client in relation to market value to get them to the best deal possible, surely?

I. e. Pogba type price = Pogba type wages.

Too simple?

Carrick was one of those players, don't hear much from him yet he made the team tick!

Barcelona aren't using Gomes in the right way in my opinion? I admit he looks dire in that Barça side, but use him correctly and he looks a worldie!

I'm sure José knows him well enough to use him more effectively? And he's only 23!

I think he would be a very shrewd signing!

His passing game is very good and definitely sit behind Pogs and Herrera allowing Pogba to play more advanced!

At 23 he will continuely get better!
