With vidic leaving in the summer, if rooney doesn't sign a contract and also departs, who do you see being our new captain? Ideally it would be somebody who plays in most of the games but I'm struggling to think of who would get it

Had to laugh at what a mate told me.
Liverpool have more chance of qualifying for Europe if they get rid of Suarez, he is hoping that there is still a place up for grabs for the team with the best disciplinary record in the fair play table!
So without Suarez they might just qualify for Europe next year!

Wow, all of the doom and gloom because fabregas is staying with barca is a bit over the top don't you think!
It was the same last year until we pulled RVP out of the hat. People are ripping up season tickets and not going to attend matches, that's good, ye might still be able to snap up a city season ticket if you want to support big signings.
Fans go to old trafford to support the whole team, the whole club, the big family that is Manchester United. Not just what ever big signing we might have signed.
Some of ye go on like spoilt little children who didn't get the nice new toy from the toy shop.
Supporting a team is for life, whether we win the league or get relegated, if we did the treble there would still be people on here moaning that we didn't win league cup as well!

1.) Good post and vert true.

i suspect soem of the negative posts are Cityfans anyway.

2.) Stringer, no one has stopped supporting the club or the players. In fact it is a bit silly to suggest that.
However, a club like united, should be pulling the big stars, but we are not able to sign any of the big stars. It is frustrating to see all the other big teams strengthening while we argue the toss with all selling clubs over money and ending up with no one.
Club didn't go for thiago, why not? Gustavo is on the move and we are not linked, why not? Instead we go for stupid targets like Fabregas when we know fully well they are not coming here.
So Pls don't give us the attitude on your live for united, we all love united and that's why we want to be the best.

3.) Somebody below did state their season ticket was staying in the drawer, so it's not that silly. Good post mate.

I would like to hear your opinion on man united having players playing for us who were not born in Manchester. By your logic, the likes of Cantona, Best, Keane and schmeichel should never have been allowed to wear the jersey as they did not hold a season ticket before signing

1.) 07 Jul 2013 14:39:36
Haha, very good question, but I don't think he would or could answer

2.) Stringer,

You are totally missing the point of kloots post, when has he ever mentioned people aren't allowed to play for or support the club if they aren't from Manchester?

Made yourself seem a bit daft here mate I'm afraid.

3.) 07 Jul 2013 15:48:25
GDS. since Kloot (whom is a complete person btw) shot you down on here, u have done nothing but kiss his behind!

Grow some!

Fred the red

4.) Fred the red,

What a total person you really are. I've never seen you post on here and you aren't signed in but you choose to post that. I certainly have not kissed kloots behind, his posts are sometimes stupid, but it's a banter site and people take offence to things too easily.

Some people on here seem happy enough to get as much as we can for Rooney and not to bother buying another striker to replace him, which I can understand as there isn't that many world class strikers available and especially for under 30 million. But what happens if RVP gets a long term injury? As highly as I rate Hernandez, I wouldn't be too confident with him playing as an only striker for 3 or 4 months.

I like the idea of playing 3 behind a main striker, but that only works if you have a world class striker. This is where chelsea failed last season. We have that world class striker in RVP, but our season could turn to tatters should he miss a big chunk of it.

1.) I like halesini's suggestion of going all out for cavanni with the money from selling rooney.

rvp and cavanni up front would be quite something

2.) I agree if Rooney were sold and RvP got injured we would struggle trying to fight on all fronts with just Hernandez.

I'm trying to stay out of the Rooney debate but if he does go, what we do in the transfer market will be a delicate procedure that needs to be addressed with care.

I heard Ashley Cole was spotted in the same restaurant. Jose was wheeled in hidden in a laundry trolley as he had planned on offering Cole a 6 month contract in Jan, but when John terry came out of the ladies bathroom with a smug look on his face it all kicked off, Cole realised his missus was in there. He got thrown out and Jose never got to talk to him.

I think it was quite the opposite on this pages 6 months ago, people were saying we should move heaven and earth to get him instead of Griezmann, even though there hadn’t been any links to him since his Udinese days. Being prem proven and not injury prone had most people wanting him over Griezmann or Bale, two players we were heavily linked to.

I think pep is going to have to take over at Sunderland and guide them to champions league glory to convince everyone that he is the best around.
