Jose was in great form today at his press conference.

His body language is so different from what it was when he first took over. The confidence is back in full flow.

Happy new year amigos. Hope you all have a great 2017.

What a game today. I was meant to go but had to cancel because my dad had a heart attack on Thursday. Thankfully he is out of the woods, but I thought it best to stay close.

I thought we played some great stuff today. Miki and Martial were brilliant; and to win like that is reminiscent of great days past. I truly am beginning to think this could turn into a special season for us; and the beginning of the good times again.

All the best gents; and I hope to see some of you guys on the chat, Monday.

I see there are no opposition fans giving us there expert advice lol.

1.) 12 Dec 2016 18:50:50
Made a tit of himself there IMO.

Pundits say things all the time that managers/ players do not agree with.

Whether or not the pundit was right or wrong (in this case, nev was bang on) you give what they say more importance. Now the papers have more headlines. Best thing you do is ignore what pundits say. Give it no creedence at all.

2.) 12 Dec 2016 19:40:23
Best thing about all this is seeing Liverpool fans try and convince themselves karius will be as good as DDG lol. I think not the guy has played over 100 top flight games and he still commits basic errors he's not raw at all he's just not good enough.

3.) 12 Dec 2016 21:02:01
De gea had played a similar number of games as Karius before he moved to United and took two seasons to settle, despite a large number of United fans saying he wasn't good enough.

4.) 12 Dec 2016 21:06:55
There is every chance that Karius will go on and become a very good keeper. Will he be as good as DDG? Who knows, he could, but few make it to the very top which is where DDG is.

The fact of the matter is DDG took pelters for years from all aspects of the media, including those with a Liverpool connection.

What will make the difference is how Karius deals with that, if he takes it and uses itbas motivation to improve then he stands every chance of fullfilling his potential. If he let's it effect him, and undermine his confidence and self belief then he will fall bybthe wayside.

Klopp is a very good manager and will do what any good manager would do in this situation and try and protect his player. He is doing it by deflecting in into a United vs Liverpool thing. Its clever as the rivalry is so intense that it needs hardly anything to kick it off.

The rest is down the the young lad.

5.) 12 Dec 2016 21:30:43
I didn't think it was clever at all shappy. To me he gave the impression that he felt a bit under the cosh. I watched the interview a few times and he was biting at what Nev was saying.

Usually Klopp ignores such pundits but he felt the need to have a go at neville. that just gave me the impression of a man not totally in control.

{Ed025's Note - hes well in control angel, that dig at united will endear him even more to the kopites mate...hes a very clever man..

6.) 12 Dec 2016 22:11:46
Angelred, its clever because it takes the pressure off of a young player by taking the attention away from his performance. Look at the site, no one is really talking about how poor Karuis was, but about Klopp and the Neville brothers. I'm sure Karuis and the other players will be thankful to have a manager like that to have their backs.

7.) 12 Dec 2016 22:36:51
Shappy, I think it does the opposite. Watch him being scrutinised even more. Because this keeper will make more mistakes. Klopp gave more credence to Gary Neville and his criticism of Karius by singling neville out.

He should have just ignored it and kept backing Karius. Much like Fergie did with De Gea.

More eyes on the situation than ever. Poor judgement IMO.

8.) 12 Dec 2016 22:10:42
I didn't see it like that ed. I just felt he had a pop because he didn't like what he heard. Maybe it does endear him to the kop even more. I just felt he wasn't in total control. I feel the past couple of weeks haven't been ideal due to the leakage of goals and it was a bit out of character from him. But I could be wrong!

{Ed025's Note - you could be right angel, i just think he is a bit more savvy than that mate..

9.) 13 Dec 2016 07:21:52
Time will tell ed but I think there's going to be more eyes and headlines about Karius.

Mane is having his say on it now and its made its way on to sky sports main page. It's just blown the story up more.

{Ed025's Note - my view is that he will come good angel and klopp will say i told you so...and then hes the messiah and media darling again mate..

10.) 13 Dec 2016 08:29:28
Oh yeah he might come real good. I don't doubt that at all.

I just think that might be some way down the line and he is brought even more pressure upon himself, liverpool and Karius right now.

Let's see how there season goes.

The law of averages dictates that our luck will turn.

Football can be a cruel game; and it is being very cruel to us at the moment; for we are playing good football, dominating games and creating chances. We are just bang out of luck.

We must prioritise Carrick in PL games. We must string a sequence of wins together. Do that, and come January, the table might look better.

Tuor80

1.) 27 Nov 2016 19:26:59
I agree Tuor but why did he not start with the same players as the game against feynoord? Rooney Carrick and mhkitaryan played exceptionally well in that game and he dropped them?
Mourinho is making a lot of mistakes in team selection. Simple as that.

{Ed004's Note - Apparently Carrick has an injury hence Schweinsteiger on the bench}

2.) 27 Nov 2016 20:30:46
I totally agree, Sch. I think if Miki and Rooney started, we score 3 or 4 today.

I think in terms of the league, things could change if we went on a run, because the teams above us all have to play each other.

3.) 27 Nov 2016 22:25:09
I don't think I've ever felt more frustrated watching United than this season. Yes, West Ham went close in the last 10 minutes but the game should have been wrapped up by then. I agree with Tuor: we're playing some very decent football and I'd far raher be in this poistion with fewer points than the one we found ourselves under LVG keeping possession for the sake of possession but producing very few chances or goals.

20 Nov 2016 17:55:40
I was at the game yesterday, and just want to comment on the atmosphere, which was great IMO.

I thought we played really well. Totally dominated Arsenal.

Our midfield is beastly. Once we get the forward area sorted, I think we will win a lot of games this season. I truly believe that after what I saw yesterday.

People can say I wear red tinted glasses, but I see a team that is coming together nicely. The picture is finally taking form. We just need a bit of luck, because we truly are the unluckiest team in the PL at the moment.

I suppose a loan move might not be a bad thing for the lad if he isn't first choice at the moment.

Can't see us selling him. For one thing, I doubt Seville could afford to buy him out right.

Ken, I have never really seen the distinction between playing on Wednesday or Thursday. In real terms, the same recovery times apply. I suppose the Europa leagues throws up some awkward ties in far flung areas of Europe that might cause some disruption; but we haven't had that problem thus far; and travelling to France is the same thing as travelling down south from Manchester. In fact, it is probably quicker.

I for one hope that we give the Europa league everything, as a top finish isn't a certainty by any stretch.

Your lads are playing some good football, Ed007. They deserve all their plaudits. Just hope they can keep that side together for next season and have a decent run in Europe. Nothing like Celtic park on Champions league night.

Tuor80

{Ed007's Note - Thanks mate, it's nice to to talk to someone who doesn't just sneer down their nose at smaller leagues without knowing anything about it.
That's the hope, that we can keep the players we have and add 1 or 2 of the same quality of Simunovic, Tierney, Sinclair, who is unrecognisable as the same player, and Dembele. And I'd love to see us sign Paddy Roberts permanently.
Look, I'm realistic, I know Celtic aren't going to win the CL but a I'll argue all day that a club our size and with our money should be aiming as a minimum to drop down to EL in 3rd place and with the occasional 2nd place qualification if we get a lucky draw. It's finally starting to look like the Club have decided to raise the bar by spending on quality and the fans expectations have risen along with the new approach.}

The run of games going into May seem quite favourable. Just hope we can capitalise and gets the points on the board. If we could go into May off the back of a run of consecutive wins, it could give us huge confidence going into those games.

May is going to be an epic month of football.

Tuor80

{Ed007's Note - I know man, Celtic winning the treble is going to be immense.}

Two or three major signings I would think. Players who are currently in their prime which will cost a few quid.
