Agree with Park3lung on Defence but I'd like to see some stability before we invest more in Midfield. We probably need a smart passing defencive mid in the mold of Carrick but they are few and far between. I'd like Neves but happy to wait and see what this lot can do with some coaching. Fingers crossed.

I think it entirely depends on how the next full time manager wants his midfield to play.

That balance and make up of the midfield is vital for a any manager. Everyone has their own ideas.

Some like a midfield with very distinct roles, others like more rounded midfielders. It depends on how you want to play and what role your midfield plays in that.

Also the club and Pogba himself are looking for pastures new. So there is a good chance he leaves in the summer leaving us with Matic, Fred, Herrera, Fellaini, Andreas Pereira and McTominay as midfield options. Of which Fellaini is limited, Herrera is yet to sign a new contract, Fred hasn't settled yet, Matic isn't getting any younger and Pereira and McTominay are unproven and have question marks over their quality.

However, potentially Fred and Herrera could have roles to play, Matic in rotation adds a quality we lack and experience.

However, a couple of new faces would definitely freshen up and add a new dynamic to our midfield. Who they are and even what type of midfielder they are will very much depend on the next manager.

With the front 4/ 5 we possess, we are in need in more of a dynamic midfielder, kante/ veratti/ Matuidi style. one who can disposes opposition and quickly release our attacking players.

In recent weeks you see how dangerous they are on the break.

I'm a new poster so big thanks to the Ed's and the regular posters for making this a great site.

5 games is no judge of Ole's credentials but I'm so chuffed to see some of our very talented players having some fun and entertaining the fans. Regardless of what they are paid, most of them are young lads and a bit of encouragement goes a long way.

I hope we don't jump in Ole's back if we lose against Spurs and I hope we don't try to buy our way out of trouble in Jan. our Defence is suspect but I'd rather do some smart business for an experienced leader in defence (Koulibaly, Alderweireld, Manolas), which is unlikely in Jan.

I'd like to see us get a relatively affordable experienced CB in Summer like Alderweireld and a top class prospect like De Ligt or Skriniar. I realise this won't come cheap but a top quality defence will give our very talented forwards a platform to reach their potential.

If Poch is a realistic target he'll also want new Full Backs. I now he's not proven yet but I like Wan-Bissaka and we could do with someone to give Shaw some competition.

We've got holes in Midfield but I'd like
to see if Fred can improve before labelling him as the next Kleberson. Also Matic has looked like a tidy passer since he has been told to pass forward.

Let's see which of these handsomely payed players has got what it takes to thrive in a proper United style before we ditch them for the next flavour of the month. But if they falter against Spurs I'm going to reserve judgement.

If it were possible I would have gone for Godin on a free in the summer and let our young CB's learn from him.

I would then be more interested in trying to offload more of the makeweights before moving to bring in more. I think some space needs to be created for a handful of our youngsters before adding more to the squad.

Godin is using us to get a new deal from Inter Milan 😆😆.
