At last we held on for a win. Nobody can say it hadn't been coming. Hopefully that will now give us the confidence to see games out.

Our squad now looks very good with options in every position. Jones and Rojo have been incredible. Kane didn't get a sniff today. So pleased for Jones, he deserves it and if can stay injury free will be great. With Bailly, Smalling and Blind also we suddenly look pretty strong at the back.

If we can have a good run over xmas we should be there or there abouts for top 4. Spurs, City and Liverpool all look like dropping points at the moment. I think we are capable of a good run now confidence is picking up.

Also we are fun to watch again. We have some exciting players. The manager is getting the best out of players. In my opinion there is a massive improvement in the short time Mourinho has been here. As much as all other fans and the press want us to fail things are looking up and there will be good times ahead!

I know it doesn't go down well being positive on this site but that could well be a corner turned.
Pogba looks immense,
Zlatan back in the goals,
Rooney has a point to prove and might be finding some form,
90 mins for Jones,
Still Herrera, Bailly, Miki etc to come in.
We have the players and the squad to be doing so much better than we are. Forget all the doom and gloom of the press, a win against Arsenal and suddenly things start looking a bit different.
I don't think we are as far away as some would like to think.

1.) 06 Nov 2016 18:39:59
The only negative is that Zlatan picked up the yellow that seems him miss the Arsenal game.

I hope we go with Rooney upfront for that with Martial and Mata either side.

2.) 06 Nov 2016 20:44:19
Carefull you don't want to entice the wrath of the less optimistic! Remember we are still 8 points of the top and Liverpool city Chelsea play so good blah blah🤣😈 Jose should have won the champions league by now blah blah.

3.) 06 Nov 2016 22:40:03
It's good to see positivity on this forum. I would agree with you but Jones being back and playin 90mins won't be the turning point and doesn't change the fact we are an experienced CB also possibly a RB away from being able to compete let alone win anything. My problem with our squad is, we will play a decent game then for the next 2-3 games we're getting found out at the back or being held to draws against teams like Burnley 😔😫 we need a leader at the back. not Smalling or Jones!

4.) 06 Nov 2016 23:05:19
We played a poor Swansea team. Let's be realistic. If we go on a run and win five or six in a row then and only then will I start to feel more optimistic about our chances.

5.) 07 Nov 2016 09:17:39
Gotta start somewhere hereford.

6.) 07 Nov 2016 11:15:02
Agreed Angelred but they gave us the freedom of the park for most of the match and then when they finally attacked they scored with a free header. I fervently wish it was not so but we are still a long way from where we need to be.

We need to build from the back. We need a dominating centre back pairing and then it will give our flair players the freedom to have a go.

7.) 08 Nov 2016 13:48:41
Name a dominating world class centreback available in January.

8.) 08 Nov 2016 15:20:06
Should meet my missus! She can be very hard to get past. Seriously though I know that it's vvv hard to find a top defender but we do need.

Good team, I like it.
Would have preferred Darmian to Rojo but other than that looks good.
Lots of players with points to prove tonight. 3-1 convincing win.

Will Red

1.) 27 Oct 2016 09:24:11
Agree on rojo but to be fair he played well last night.

26 May 2016 18:52:03
Mourinho. I think he either changes slightly, gives youth more of a chance and tries to stick to a more attacking way of playing, in which case this could be a match made in heaven.
Or he is the same old Mourinho, sticks around for 2 or 3 years, upsets many, doesn't bring young players through and plays defensively a little too often.
Either way I think we are guarenteed some success, the best players will want to play for him and it will be lots of fun. I'm behind him all the way.
Good luck Jose!

1.) 26 May 2016 19:08:17
I think he knows and respects United and SAF enough to adapt enough.

2.) 26 May 2016 20:15:12
WRD, I don't think he'll adapt, he is a proven winner and I think he will do it whatever way he wants.

3.) 26 May 2016 20:28:42
I think it's the one thing that he has always wanted to do - to emulate the relationship SAF had with MUFC and build a long term relationship with the club and the fans at OT. In effect, become an icon here.
I hope it works out, I really do.
And isn't it great to have some thick ice under our feet for once?

18 Mar 2016 09:13:29
I like the idea of giving it to giggs for a year and getting our identity back. Best case it goes great, we play attacking football the Man Utd way and start heading in the right direction.
Worse case results don't go our way and he is out of his depth. At least we will know and have given him a go and at least we will be playing or at least attempting to play better attacking football.
If this happened we should go all out for Potechino. He will have had 3 years at Spurs and be ready for a new challenge and what bigger and better challenge than getting Man Utd back to greatness. He is the man to take us forward in my opinion.

Will Red

1.) 18 Mar 2016 12:47:41
yeah. and by the time Pochetinno is contacted, we will be in the relegation scrap with the mighty Ryan Giggs in charge.

Is it the time to "check" and "see" whether this works or that works? Have you not been watching us for the past 3 years or are you a Liverpool fan?

2.) 18 Mar 2016 13:06:06
Consider the downward trend we are in, almost a spiral. So you would give it to Giggs on the basis that the worst case is results don't go our way and find, as I strongly expect would be the case, that he is out of his depth? At the end of that year what state do you think the club will be in? Bereft of Champions League, no top players wanting to play for Giggs or the club because they don't, like us, believe it will work and heading down the league, what would be our future? How would we attract the latest lawn mower sponsor then?

The key point for me is that it needs a leader, an inspiration respected by players for their more recent managerial CV. Giggs is a legend of a player that seems to create a soft fluffy image in people's minds that takes them away from reality. Give Giggs a year to further destroy the club, no thanks.

3.) 18 Mar 2016 13:19:58
I know a lot of people on here would like poch but if LVG goes I'd like to see Bilic.

4.) 18 Mar 2016 13:21:34
Giggs has been part of two failing managers he is not the answer, imagine how tempting the job is for Jose, morale is low underachieving team no silverware for years playing boring football he can make himself look good once again.

5.) 18 Mar 2016 13:42:59
Simon

Imagine Jose walking out along the touch line first game of the season, I can almost feel the enthusiasm and infusion of renewed confidence.

6.) 18 Mar 2016 13:49:30
Jose will be on a revenge mission. Gunning for Chelsea, Wenger, Benitez and most importantly Pep. I can't wait for the day he is announced and we get rid of this muppet. 😆😆.

7.) 18 Mar 2016 16:56:20
Yep Jose will revel in being the special one once again Redman.

8.) 18 Mar 2016 17:36:01
I think LVG will still be here next season. Listen to his post match conference. He isn't going anywhere unless Woodward sacks him and I don't think Woodward will.

9.) 18 Mar 2016 15:08:29
Jose has the hunger, desire, know-how and passion to get us back to the top. Giggs may have three of those things, but one of them he has yet to prove and won't do until he gets a managers job elsewhere.

10.) 18 Mar 2016 16:02:30
The more I read that first post the more I feel that it is one of the worst I've ever read.

11.) 18 Mar 2016 18:06:35
I don't want Mourinho but I accept why most on here seem to. If he comes will be 3 years max, we may win a trophy in that time but he will upset many, the football will still be dull and no youth whatsoever will get a look in.
That is not what Man Utd is all about. Think we will be selling our soul for some silverwhere. I much prefer the Giggs then Potechino idea. That's what I want! Potechino is the man. I would accept Giggs until that.
Just my opinion.

12.) 18 Mar 2016 18:11:20
We get mourinho and the other teams will be wetting their pants. I would put my head on the line and say mourinho makes these clowns (including fellaini) champions next season.

13 Mar 2016 12:34:18
A much needed win to lift spirits and get us in the semis is a must. Could spur us on to a derby win in the league and to at least make a game of the Liverpool tie and see what happens.
A loss is unthinkable and if so he would have to go immediately. Our season will be over!
I know which 1 I prefer the semis and a trip to Wembley.

Will Red

1.) 13 Mar 2016 20:54:10
City are also struggling and it is pretty much their season will hang by a thread if they don't beat us. It will be a tight game and nothing would surprise me. I still think we will finish 7th no matter what the results are in derby.

As a team we are poor in creating clear cut scoring opportunities scoring enough goals and concede too easily with a back 4 that changes every week.

03 Jan 2016 20:52:15
Feeling a little more possitive after the last couple of games.
Couple of signings and a return of some confidence who knows what might happen.
Some tough games coming up but remember last season before Spurs, Liverpool, City how everybody had written us off and we best them all convincingly with some very good football. Could happen again. I predict a strong finish in the league!

Will Red

1.) 04 Jan 2016 12:22:55
Will as you can see from the disagrees optimism and positivity will get you shot down around here. You would be better of telling us how you could do so much better than the current players and coach and CEO. 😌😌.

2.) 04 Jan 2016 13:00:14
I am with you Will. Definitely signs we are on the up again.

3.) 04 Jan 2016 14:38:32
That makes 3 of us😀.

Varane, Zlatan and a fast wide attacking player like Mane?
I think with those 3 positions sorted we win the league!

Will Red

{Ed091's Note - don't hold your breath over mane. }

He will no doubt be pissed off that RVP is injured and he still isn't starting. Especially with World cup coming up. Can't blame him, hope he stays

Agreed. No excuses just 3 points. If we let this 1 slip then we probably don't deserve top 4. Scrappy win. Lucky win. Convincing win. Don't care today just 3 points please.

Agreed. That's not what we are about and there is no place for that at our club. I personally don't want him in the team as I think we have much better options but it's a disgrace to boo one of our own.

Howe for me, new start giving youngsters a go and playing good football.
Will be Bruce though, nice guy but hardly an inspiring choice.

We have a better squad than liverpool no doubt. Only Coutinho, maybe firminho and sturridge would get near our squad.
Our form will improve and we will still finish above them. A week ago everybody was sure if this. We beat them in a couple of weeks and Leicester at the weekend and all will be good again.
