The source that apparently came out with the news that Thiago was to join Bayern, has reported that United have made a bid in the region of £30m for the Bilbao midfielder Ander Herrera. Looks like a non obvious but perfect fit for our needs. Thoughts?

Apparently Dennis Irwin has come out with the words, 'huge announcement within 48 hours at Manchester united'. For me he's a little hit and miss with his attempts at mystic meg. If there is some substance to it, surely Rojo wouldn't be classed as huge?
1.) More than likely another sponsorship deal that Ed has prioritised. The only huge deal seemingly in the pipe like is Vidal. He is quite often wrong though.
2.) I think we are hoping it's Vidal, but seems unlikely due to them wanting Hernandez in the deal. But you never know.
Maybe it's Di Maria or Cuadrado.
3.) The big announcement is rooney as captain. Good news but expected better

Anyone else on here think van gaals latest comments are to turn attention away from last minute touches to potential deals? United have only played 3 games so far and although it pains me to say it, I hope Madrid find us out tonight, as I feel we are still weak in certain areas. Right now we have the potential to do what Liverpool did last year, concede a load but score more. If we seriously want to challenge for that title, a CM and a CB are a must.
1.) Based on how well RM have done in their previous two games I expect it will be us who 'finds them out'.
Liverpool or Manchester City in the final on Monday worries me a little though.

So let me get this straight, you want Madrid to do a number on us because you are worried that our coach is being lulled into a false sense of security with regards to the state of our squad during these preseason games? You mustn't rate LvG.

All the rumours flying round regarding Vidal, di Maria, humells, etc. Under normal circumstances I would dismiss as pure speculation. To me though it seems this time round, we've got the easy ones (albeit still expensive) out of the way first. Just got that feeling a couple of biggies will materialise in the coming weeks, although depends on when the dutch world cup journey ends

Bilbao reject £29m bid for Herrera. Can we not do anything right in the transfer market at the minute?

Herrera on bench for Bilbao against Madrid. Surely you would pick your best 11 vs a team of that caliber? Or am I looking too far into it?

I know it's a long shot but hopefully Evra potentially going to juve would soften their stance with Vidal negotiations. I struggle to see us getting him, although if the opportunity arises, we should throw the figure at them without thinking twice
If the player wants to move, they then have no option but to sell. It shouldn't get to this point though, our dealings are laughable at the minute

I've said all along that we do have a great squad but based on today's performance we just don't seem to have that cutting edge. Possibly mixed with poor tactics. Why the hell kagawa doesn't get a sniff is beyond belief as he would really open up teams with our away counter attacking play. I really want moyes to do well but today I've had my first doubts on his style. playing too safe and still getting nothing from the game. If we were to go 1 nil up then bring giggs on fair enough but please. I for one will be relieved come 11 o clock Monday to put an end to all the false reports. At least then we can get on with what will be a very tough season and still get behind our team!
Didn't think Juan Mata had a release clause. and if I'm right there's absolutely not a chance on this earth Chelsea would sell him to us, especially after telling them where to stick it with Rooney. I'd be very very happy with Herrera and fellaini. Don't need anything else but would take Baines as well. Would however prefer coentrau if we insist on a left back
