I only normally bet on football during the Euros and World cup (this year bet on Croatia and Belgium - various bets to do well) so that I have an added interest. In years gone by I could take bets from deluded England fans and make money (I am English, not deluded and could not give a damn about them) .
But next season I am optomistic for the first time in years. I cannot stand Mourihno and did not want him at our club. But he is a winner and after the last 3 years of dreadful football (I do not expect to win all the time but I want to see attractive football) .
So I put some bets on
If United finish out of the top 4 I lose £210
If United finish in the top 4 but not 1st I lose £15
If United win the league (I don't think they will but the odds were worth it) I win £385
So I think United will finish top four so I am betting £15 for a profit of £385 for United to win the league
Also only bet money if you can afford to lose it and be sensible
So what do you think about my bets.

Croatia at 30/ 1 is a great price I expect them to turn a few heads and get to at least the semis.

SAF was worth between 15 & 20 points a season. Last year we won the league because of SAF & other teams under performing. But we have yet again been outspent by our rivals. I think that only SAF would have a chance of winning the league with our squad of players. So I think the next two years will be for DM to try & improve the squad but I do not expect to win anything as we have too many average players (as was shown on Sunday).
Ok this is a list of teams & how much they have spent in the last 11 years on transfers - how much was made on selling players.
Chelsea 699.4

Bayern 274.5
Liverpool 250
United 213.6
Spurs 195.6
We have spent 8 million more than spurs!
We have spent 27.1% of what Chelsea have spent
We spent less than Liverpool

We competed in the past because of SAF but as long as the Glazers are in charge we will never spend enough to compete any more. let's just hope the next crop of youngsters can match the class of 92 because that is our only hope.

Me and my mate hitched down to London on the Friday before Bobby's last match which was at Chelsea in April 1973. We slept at Heathrow airport pretending we were passengers waiting for a flight. Went to the match the next day and then hitched back afterwards. In those days we hitched to lots of matches as we were students and had very little money.

Also new poster - first went to OT in 1962 - and I was there every home match the season we got relegated & every match in the old 2nd division - what a season that was - visiting places like York City - great days - those days a trip to wembley was all we dreamt off (I try and forget the Southampton final) - and trips to Europe were very few - I did 3 - Ajax, Juventus & Ostend as a friendly (I never saw the match but that's a long and funny story) - anyway we do not have a right to win things every season & have been look to have had Sir A for so long - so get behind the team this season & especially David Moyes & show everyone what great supporters we are
